Qin Fan went to the bathroom, came out with a large bath towel, and also picked up the snacks Si Huang had bought. He then returned to Si Huang’s side.

He sat on the sofa with his legs wide open, patted the empty space between his legs, and said to Si Huang, “Come here.”

Si Huang raised her still-damp eyebrows, looked at the serious-looking man, and moved to sit against his chest.

The man wrapped the bath towel around her hair and dried it, his large hand scratching her silver-dyed hair. “Not a one-time dye job?”

“Yeah, it’s for filming.” Si Huang picked up the remote control from the coffee table and turned on the TV.

Switching between channels, she suddenly saw a familiar face on one of the programs.

It was a rerun of Arthur’s concert.

Arthur’s naturally gifted voice was incredibly pleasant even when projected through the TV’s built-in audio. The replay of the concert on TV was even more electrifying, with foreign fans playing even louder than their domestic counterparts, and some even fainting in their excitement.

Si Huang watched for a while, and a somewhat familiar scene flashed through her mind. In her previous life, Arthur seemed to have held a concert in Z country as well.

For a superstar like him, holding concerts abroad was perfectly normal. He had only been in the entertainment industry for a short time, and becoming a king in a year or two would definitely not be difficult.

Then the TV screen flickered, changing to another channel.

Si Huang came back to her senses and heard Qin Fan’s voice coming down from above, “Very good?”

“Yes, very good.” Si Huang was just being objective; Arthur’s appearance and temperament were absolutely top-notch. In terms of the exquisiteness of his features alone, Arthur’s handsomeness was more striking than Si Huang’s. Golden hair, dreamy purple eyes, and blood-red lips— all the vibrant colors were concentrated on a snow-white face, like a colorful oil painting that was stunning at first glance.

Qin Fan’s gaze was a little cold, but Si Huang’s next words reassured him, “But I’m not looking at his appearance.”

“Then what are you looking at?”

“I see him as a rival.” Si Huang said lazily, “A worthy opponent can help you grow and improve.”

Qin Fan thought back to Arthur, ignoring Si Huang’s attention to him. Just looking at Arthur as a person, he was indeed an outstanding guy. So Qin Fan didn’t intentionally belittle him.

Not wanting to talk about other men, Si Huang noticed his aversion to this point and didn’t explain further.

He picked up the remote and continued changing channels, finally stopping at a foreign movie channel, watching a fantasy film playing.

Si Huang casually opened a bag of potato chips, leaned against Qin Fan’s chest, letting him dry her hair while she ate snacks.

Qin Fan was about to remind her not to eat too many snacks at night, but when he looked down, he saw the person in his arms with a serious expression, already lost in some kind of state.

She wasn’t just watching a movie; she habitually observed the actors’ acting skills and various aspects of their performance.

This was a habit Si Huang had cultivated over time. Her acting skills were superb, a fact that everyone who saw her was awestruck and acknowledged.

However, this talent wasn’t innate. While others marveled at her effortless performance, they didn’t know that she could squeeze out time to thoroughly study the entire original work for a single drama, memorizing not only her own character’s lines but also those of other characters. She did the same when watching classic foreign films, habitually observing the actors to find what they hadn’t done well and what was worth learning.

No matter the profession, when you dedicate yourself to it and take it seriously, even a janitor can’t be looked down upon.

Looking at Si Huang like this, Qin Fan loosened his grip, recalling his initial words to the child: “Just an actress.”

It was understandable that Si Huang was angry then.

Just like when he heard outsiders mocking their fallen comrade: “Haha, isn’t that guy stupid? He could have just enlisted and gotten a certificate, but he had a screw loose trying to be a hero, without even knowing what he was made of!”

Back then, he was young, and upon hearing those words, he beat the speaker so badly his own mother wouldn’t recognize him. Perhaps that fallen teammate wasn’t particularly skilled, but no one understood that man’s dedication and patriotic heart better than Qin Fan, who had trained with him for a long time. Even if he was useless and at the bottom of the class, he was still sacrificing for his country. Some might think it was foolish, but it was wrong to slander him, especially by those who hadn’t done anything, didn’t understand the effort the other man had put in, and yet acted so self-righteously.

Time slowly passed, and as the movie neared its end, Si Huang realized she had seemingly overlooked a certain man.

She held out her bag of snacks to him, apologetically offering, “Want a bite?”

Qin Fan kissed her on the lips.

“Go to sleep if you want to.”

He noticed Si Huang’s sleepiness.

Si Huang threw the snack bag into the trash can. “Then I’ll go brush my teeth.” She got up and walked halfway, then suddenly stopped and turned back to the man, asking, “You haven’t done this kind of thing with anyone else, have you?” She pointed to the sofa and the TV, implying how they snuggled together to watch the movie.

Qin Fan nodded.

Si Huang smiled contentedly and went into the bathroom.

She came out shortly after and said to Qin Fan, “You can go take a shower now.”

Qin Fan was still sitting on the sofa, typing on his phone. Hearing this, he stood up and replied, “You go to sleep first, I won’t be ready for a while.”

Si Huang didn’t immediately understand what was going on, but after Qin Fan went into the bathroom, she suddenly realized, feeling both amused and touched.

This man was really patient, and Qin Fan’s actions today were exactly what she wanted.

Now sitting on the bed, Si Huang didn’t avoid recalling the details of her death in her past life, nor did she react as she had during the day.

It was just a pity that she still couldn’t come up with any useful information.

About half an hour later, Qin Fan finally came out of the bathroom, his footsteps deliberately light, so that there wasn’t a sound on the carpet.

Walking to the bedside, the man, who had already dried himself off, carefully lifted the covers. He immediately saw the person sleeping soundly inside, their bathrobe disheveled, revealing glimpses of their skin, further stimulating his recently satisfied desires.

Qin Fan took a deep breath, lay down under the covers, and pulled the person close, covering them completely.

He silently counted in his mind: Three months! No, two months!

These two were enjoying a relaxing and cozy holiday, unaware that a certain handsome young man had been repeatedly dialing Si Huang’s number since landing, only to receive the message that her phone was switched off.

If he hadn’t been certain that Si Huang hadn’t blocked him, Duan Qizhou, dragging his luggage out of the airport, would have stormed off in frustration.

Unable to get through to Si Huang, Duan Qizhou then called Yu Xi, only to receive the same system notification that the other party was unavailable.

Finally, out of desperation, Duan Qizhou called Qin Fan’s phone number, but this time, no one answered.

Standing at the airport, Duan Qizhou was frustrated for several minutes. He wondered if he should find a place to stay first and then go see where Si Huang was filming the next day, or go and say hello to Qin Fan first.

After thinking it over, Duan Qizhou felt that if he went to see Si Huang immediately, his purpose would be too obvious. He had always been humiliated by Si Huang, and he felt ashamed of being rejected so many times. He decided it was better to go visit his brother first and then find an excuse to see Si Huang later.

Anyway, Si Huang would be in Italy for a while, and he was also curious about Qin Fan and the others’ mission.

Having made up his mind, Duan Qizhou dialed Guo Chengxiong’s number. This time, someone finally answered.

“Hey, Xiao Qi? Why are you calling me at this hour? What time is it in China?”

“I’m at Rome airport. Where are you? I’m coming over now.”

“What?”

Duan Qizhou repeated the above words, letting out a mischievous laugh.

Guo Chengxiong sighed helplessly, then gave his address, adding, “You should be glad the boss isn’t here, otherwise he’d definitely break your legs and send you back that night.”

“Where did brother go?” Duan Qizhou asked curiously as he walked out of the airport, “Didn’t you guys follow?”

If it was a mission, Guo Chengxiong and the others should have been working together.

Guo Chengxiong said, “Don’t pry into the boss’s privacy.”

Privacy…

Duan Qizhou’s heart skipped a beat. Those two words alone could conjure up countless possibilities.

What privacy could Qin Fan possibly have? His private life used to be so clean that no one even bothered to investigate. The only thing Guo Chengxiong could call privacy was what he’d overheard earlier!

Originally, Duan Qizhou should have been happy that Qin Fan had a girlfriend, but he unconsciously gripped his phone tighter, inexplicably thinking about Si Huang’s phone being off and Qin Fan’s phone being unreachable. Wasn’t that too much of a coincidence?

“Oh, if you don’t want me to tell my brother that you told me he has a girlfriend, then remember to speak up for me so I can stay.”

“Damn, when did I tell you?”

“Looks like I really do have a sister-in-law.” Duan Qizhou laughed smugly.

Guo Chengxiong on the other end remained silent for a long time. “You dare to trick me into telling you this!” It was all his fault for not being wary of Duan Qizhou, otherwise he wouldn’t have been tricked so easily.

Duan Qizhou said shamelessly, “It’s not a bad thing, but if you hadn’t told me, how would I know about this?”

Guo Chengxiong didn’t say anything more and hung up the phone.
