Tian Wu drove directly to the airport.

Helipad.

Yuan Yin, accompanied by two of his men, waited not far from the plane. Seeing Tian Wu bring Jiang Chi over, Yuan Yin went to greet him, glanced at Jiang Chi, and clicked his tongue: “Sending him to Chi You now?”

“Leave immediately, or things will get complicated.” Tian Wu gave him a disapproving look: “This matter was originally entrusted to you, but I didn’t expect you to be unable to catch even a little brat. I’ve brought the person, and everything has been arranged in Yunnan Province. You just need to deliver him to Chi You, and there shouldn’t be any more problems, right?”

Yuan Yin’s face darkened upon hearing this, but it was indeed something he hadn’t handled well. Tian Wu had helped him out, so he could only suppress his displeasure for the time being and forced a smile, saying, “Don’t worry, I will deliver him on time. If I hadn’t been seriously injured and my cultivation hadn’t regressed, forcing me to temporarily reside in this dwarf puppet’s body, I wouldn’t have needed you to intervene. I was just worried that a failed attack would arouse Ying Long’s suspicion.”

“There’s no need for those excuses.” Tian Wu scoffed. “Send the person over there immediately, don’t waste any time.”

He calculated the time and said, “Taotie has been trapped inside for about four or five days. If all goes well, it should have already met Chi You by now.”

“It’s time for our plan to come to an end.”

Tian Wu said something, then looked at Jiang Chi, who was under a spell and unable to speak, and said with a smile, “Didn’t you want to know who your parents are? I’ll take you to see them right now. Your father will be very happy to see you… if he acknowledges you as his son.”

Jiang Chi’s eyes widened in shock and anger. Hearing them mention Taotie in their conversation, and recalling Ying Qiao’s serious expression when he avoided them to answer the phone earlier, followed by his statement that he was going to Yunnan Province to pick up Jiang Lan and bring him home, Jiang Chi realized that something must have happened to Jiang Lan.

Unable to speak, he could only let out angry and resentful roars from his throat. His dark eyes were uncontrollably stained with scarlet, and there were even faint signs that he was trying to break free from his restraints.

“As expected of the Lord of War, even a wisp of resentment separated a second time possesses such power.” Tian Wu gently pressed Jiang Chi’s crown, causing him to fall into a deep sleep, before handing him over to Yuan Yin and instructing, “Don’t let him wake up in the middle. This brat is very cunning, and being the embodiment of the Lord of War’s resentment, he might cause some unexpected trouble.” He emphasized, “This matter concerns the grand plan; success or failure hinges on this. Absolutely no mistakes can be tolerated!”

Yuan Yin knew Jiang Chi’s importance, so he ordered his men to bring him over. Without saying anything more, the group boarded the private jet and prepared to head to Yunnan Province.

This private jet belonged to the owner of a private company secretly controlled by the Qian faction. The connection between the company and the Qian faction was very secretive. The reason why they did not use magic but instead used human means to go to Yunnan Province was to avoid the eyes and ears of Ying Long and the Monster Management Bureau.

Even if they had extraordinary abilities, they won’t be able to find this place in a short time.

By the time they found out, the person would have already been sent to the appropriate location.

Tian Wu watched the plane take off from the tarmac, and only after it had safely departed did he mutter to himself, “Now there’s just one more to go…”

….

After obtaining the surveillance footage, Ying Qiao contacted Tai Feng directly and mobilized the Monster Management Bureau to track down Jiang Chi’s whereabouts.

They also analyzed the surveillance video multiple times, but the other party’s disguise was too sophisticated, and no flaws or traces could be found in the surveillance video.

Ying Qiao said with certainty, “They must be from the Qian faction.”

Previously, Suan Yu had targeted Jiang Chi, implying that Jiang Chi’s identity was not simple. However, he refused to reveal Jiang Chi’s background, and since the Qian faction did not target Jiang Chi in their subsequent actions, they did not specifically restrict Jiang Chi’s freedom for safety reasons.

Moreover, Jiang Chi had briefly lost control, which was not a good sign. In order for Jiang Chi to live a normal life, Jiang Lan had not informed the Monster Management Bureau about this matter, fearing that Jiang Chi would be subject to the supervision and restrictions of the Monster Management Bureau as a result.

But now it seems that it wasn’t sour grapes or exaggeration, or that the Qian faction didn’t care about Jiang Chi, but rather that the time hadn’t come yet.

With him and Jiang Lan watching over them at the same time, it would be too difficult to abduct Jiang Chi from under their noses, so the Qian faction had been waiting.

“I was careless.” Ying Qiao pinched his brow wearily and gritted his teeth, “Have someone investigate whether there was a mastermind behind the initial video about Ya Zi. If so, find out who was behind it.”

He now suspected that Ya Zi’s appearance in the video and Jiang Lan’s trip to Yunnan Province were deliberately orchestrated by the Qian faction. Otherwise, why not arrest him sooner or later, but instead seize the opportunity to kidnap Jiang Chi when Jiang Lan’s whereabouts were unknown in Yunnan Province and he was worried that Jiang Lan might be losing his strength?

This was clearly a two-birds-with-one-stone strategy.

“It’s not your fault.”

Bi’an, unusually, did not contradict Ying Qiao. Instead his face darkened as he said, “I have already informed my elder brother. The Dragon Palace will also send people to track down Jiang Chi’s whereabouts.”

Jiang Chi was now under the protection of the Dragon Palace, so there was no reason for the Dragon Palace’s offspring to be bullied for no reason.

Ying Qiao gave a low “hmm,” put his hands behind his back, and looked out at the night view. Four hours had passed since Jiang Chi was kidnapped. He closed his eyes, then called his assistant and asked him to postpone the trip to Feiyun Province on Friday.

Bi’an listened from the side, not knowing whether he was speaking to him or to himself: “Fifth Brother will be fine. If he really gets tough, there aren’t many who can subdue him.”

Ying Qiao remained silent upon hearing this, but instead pulled himself back from his wandering thoughts and continued to calmly analyze the situation: “If I’m not mistaken, the Ya Zi who appeared in the video is likely just bait. The Qian faction already knew about our situation. First, they devised a plan to lure Jiang Lan to Yunnan Province, and then they seized the opportunity to kidnap Jiang Chi… Jiang Lan and Jiang Chi must be connected to the Qian faction’s plan in some way.”

He couldn’t quite figure out what kind of connection could exist between the two of them.

“My elder brother also said that Jiang Chi looked very similar to Jiang Lan in his younger days.” Bi’an frowned and murmured, “But what connection could they possibly have?”

Ying Qiao lowered his eyes and pondered for a moment, then suddenly stood up and said, “There is someone who might know. I’ll go ask him.”

Without waiting for Bi’an’s reply, he quickly left the conference room and took the elevator upstairs to find Geng Chen.

Geng Chen must have known about the ancient plan to sever the connection between heaven and earth. If Jiang Lan and Jiang Chi were truly crucial to the Qian Sect’s plan to return to heaven, then Geng Chen should know something about them.

He stormed upstairs, pushed open the cubicle door, and called out to Geng Chen in a cold voice. But before he could finish speaking, he found the room empty, with no sign of Geng Chen.

“Where is the Nine Cauldrons?” Ying Qiao’s eyes were filled with deep anger as he turned to look at the staff member who had followed him.

“This, this…” The staff member was a little confused as he looked at the empty cubicle: “He was in there this morning, and no one has been in or out since.”

Following Ying Qiao’s instructions, he delivered a vat of monster beast milk every day. At first, the cauldron refused to drink it, but later it started drinking it for some reason. These past few days, he delivered the milk in every morning and checked on it again before changing shifts at night. How could such a large cauldron just disappear for no reason?

A sudden clap of thunder boomed outside the window, and a blinding flash of lightning streaked across the night sky, illuminating Ying Qiao’s gloomy, almost dripping face.

The staff member was startled and stammered, “Really, I’ve been on duty here the whole time. It’s impossible for someone to come in and steal the cauldron so quietly…” Seeing that Ying Qiao remained silent, he lowered his voice even further, “Let me check the surveillance footage first. Our surveillance system has been improved by the Special Administration Bureau’s technicians, so there might be some clues…”

He stood there nervously, waiting for Ying Qiao’s instructions. When he saw Ying Qiao nod with a serious face, he breathed a slight sigh of relief and quickly pulled up the monitoring data from the system.

The Bureau of Monster Management received many powerful monsters with profound cultivation, so ordinary surveillance was useless. Therefore, they now used an improved surveillance system they obtained from next door, which could be considered a semi-magical artifact. The system automatically deciphered illusions and other strange spells, recording the most authentic scenes. This system was expensive, but they had used it for many years, arresting numerous monsters with malicious intentions, and it had rarely caused any problems.

The staff member’s palms were sweaty. He took a deep breath, opened the video, sped it up, and started watching from the time he delivered the monster milk that morning, his eyes glued to the screen.

The video was too long, and even after speeding it up, it still took time to watch. The staff member was afraid of missing anything, so he didn’t dare to fast forward and could only watch it patiently. Ying Qiao was standing to one side, and even from half a meter away, the staff member could feel the deep anger emanating from him.

The indoor surveillance video played silently and rapidly, while outside, lightning flashed and thunder roared, followed by a torrential downpour.

More than an hour later.

“Here!” the staff member exclaimed, pressing pause.

The surveillance video showed the cubicle door opening, and a tall, slender man calmly pushed it open and walked out. He glanced at the staff member, revealing a very handsome face, but the corners of his mouth were slightly upturned, making him look somewhat dishonest.

Meanwhile, the staff were at their desks, focused on their computers, completely unaware of the man swaggering out of the cubicle.

The staff member opened and closed his mouth, stammering, “This, this…”

He tried his best to explain, but didn’t know where to begin.

A person swaggered past him without him noticing anything amiss; no matter how you look at it, it was his dereliction of duty.

He lowered his head in embarrassment and apologized, “I’m sorry, it was my fault…”

“Geng, Chen!”

Ying Qiao gritted his teeth and spat out the name of the man in the video, one word at a time, but his voice contained not joy, but surging anger.

“None of your business,” he said hastily, then turned and strode away.

After going downstairs, Ying Qiao first called Ji Xian to confirm whether Geng Chen had come to see her.

“No.” Ji Xian paused slightly, then asked, “Has he recovered?”

Since Geng Chen had just recovered and hadn’t gone to see Ji Xian, there was only one possibility— the matter he was in a hurry to handle must be related to the ancient forbidden land and heavenly passage, and might even be related to the Qian Sect.

When Ying Qiao asked him about ancient times, he refused to tell him, saying only that he would tell him when the time was right.

But now it seemed that Geng Chen was obviously deceiving him again, and the time may have come.

But Geng Chen also ran away!

Ying Qiao ground his back teeth hard, suppressing his anger that was about to explode, and said, “Yeah, he recovered a long time ago, but he wouldn’t let me tell you, saying he wanted to give you a surprise. But he suddenly disappeared today, so I thought he went looking for you.”

“…”

Ji Xian remained silent for a long time before finally replying, “He didn’t come looking for me.”

Her voice was somewhat cold, and she hung up the phone after speaking.
