Jiang Shaoying was young and physically strong, and with the protagonist’s halo, he woke up after a short while.

“…?” He opened his eyes, his vision still somewhat unclear. When he saw clearly, he was startled and swallowed back the words “Master” that he almost shouted.

Wei Qianqian was standing in front of him, dressed in green, with a slender figure and outstanding temperament.

“Thank you for saving me, heroine!” Jiang Shaoying blushed and hurriedly thanked her.

“No need for formalities,” Wei Qianqian said.

Hearing the title “heroine,” she was stunned and couldn’t believe that she was being addressed. Everyone around her treated her as the young lady of Juling Immortal Mountain, the future wife of the Kunlun Immortal Lord, an appendage of power, not an independent cultivator.

Nevertheless, she gritted her teeth, gripped the sword in her hand, and pointed it at Jiang Shaoying’s chest: “Now, tell me, who exactly are you?”

Saving him was her first reaction, but after saving him, she still needed to interrogate him properly. The young man looked completely unfamiliar, his sudden appearance near Juling Immortal Mountain perhaps hinting at some hidden reason.

“I…” Jiang Shaoying scratched his head. “Of course, I could easily make up a few lies to fool you, but you just saved my life. I can never repay such a debt of gratitude, so I can only repay you with the truth.”

Wei Qianqian paused, then said, “Very well.”

“I am a disciple of Kunlun Immortal Mountain, on a mission. I was just passing through and had no intention of disturbing you.” Jiang Shaoying raised his eyes, looking directly at her without any ulterior motives.

“This child really did tell the truth…” Li Yuebai sighed from the shadows.

“Host, don’t worry. Jiang Shaoying has the protagonist’s halo; even if his identity is exposed, it won’t cause any adverse reactions,” the system reassured him.

“I think so too, so I didn’t intervene.” Li Yuebai observed intently.

He noticed that the trust in Wei Qianqian’s eyes had increased even more.

“You’re telling the truth,” she nodded. “However, wouldn’t easily exposing one’s identity violate the rules of Kunlun Immortal Mountain?” Wei Qianqian asked.

“I’ve broken every rule in Kunlun, one more won’t hurt,” Jiang Shaoying laughed.

His laughter was carefree and exuberant, as if he had completely forgotten the pain of being poisoned.

Wei Qianqian paused, but didn’t lower her sword, continuing to press, “Just now, I whispered a few words with the maids. Did you hear them?”

Among cultivators, there were many with keen hearing. This grove of immortal trees wasn’t far from the mountain gate; if the young man’s cultivation was strong enough, he could have heard her conversation with the maids!

She was so angry that she had complained about everything important. She mentioned being forced by her father to marry the Kunlun Immortal Lord, and the Kunlun Immortal Lord’s immoral character… she said it all clearly. And this young man before her was, undeniably, a Kunlun disciple!

If he had heard her, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Wei Qianqian’s face turned pale, her heart filled with anxiety.

She hadn’t heard anything; she had to answer that she hadn’t heard anything!

“I promised you, heroine, I would only tell the truth…” Jiang Shaoying blushed slightly, then said frankly, “I heard you.”

His hearing wasn’t as sharp as his master’s, but it wasn’t bad either; he’d heard most of it.

“You…” Wei Qianqian gasped, biting her lip, and thrust her sword towards his chest.

Jiang Shaoying knew he couldn’t dodge, so he simply didn’t flinch.

The sword stopped when it touched the fabric of his chest.

“I just saved you, and now I’m going to kill you? Isn’t that absurd?” Wei Qianqian laughed self-deprecatingly.

“Since you saved my life, heroine, you can take it as you please.” Jiang Shaoying was quite philosophical about it.

“…” Seeing his nonchalant attitude, Wei Qianqian found it even harder to strike.

“Actually, it’s nothing,” Jiang Shaoying comforted her instead. “You just don’t like Yu Tianji, don’t you? Good for you! I don’t like Yu Tianji either!”

“…” Wei Qianqian was stunned for the first time seeing a cultivator so disrespectful to her immortal master. “He is the immortal master of your Kunlun Immortal Mountain, how can you be so disrespectful to him?”

“I just hate that brat, hmph,” Jiang Shaoying said disdainfully.

Just thinking about Yu Tianji made Jiang Shaoying furious.

His most respected and beloved master, of noble character and pure heart, was being hugged and teased by Yu Tianji every day! This was before the battle against the Demonic Sect. He wasn’t present during the battle or after the victory, and he wondered if his master had been taken advantage of by that brat even more.

How hateful, truly hateful.

Wei Qianqian naturally couldn’t understand his complex inner thoughts. She just found it amusing to see him suddenly become so angry, both furious and disdainful, like a little beast with its fur standing on end.

Watching him, Wei Qianqian laughed.

She sheathed her sword and said, “Fine, fine, so be it. I heard you insulting your own immortal master, so we’re even.”

She had truly reached her limit today, unable to bear it any longer, which was why she vented to the maids. And venting, of course, was meant to be heard; the moment it was uttered, one had to be prepared to be overheard.

Moreover, the moment the young man said “I heard,” she felt a strange sense of relief. Having been a dutiful daughter under her father’s shadow her whole life, she couldn’t possibly be forced into marriage without leaving a trace of resistance. The fact that the young man had heard her complaints meant that at least one outsider understood her resentment.

Even more interesting was that this young man was a complete troublemaker; seeing her dislike for Yu Tianji, he even felt a sense of sympathy, wishing he could join her in cursing Yu Tianji for three days and three nights.

This amusing situation was enough to sustain her through the rest of the days.

Thinking this, she glanced at the young man again, then turned and left.

“Huh? You’re leaving already…?” Jiang Shaoying stumbled to his feet, wanting to chase after her, but afraid of offending her, he hurriedly said, “I’ll thank you properly when you get to Kunlun! Also, if Yu Tianji bullies you, just come to me, and I’ll have someone deal with him!”

The only person who could handle Yu Tianji was, of course, his master.

Would they see each other again in Kunlun?

If the marriage wasn’t settled so quickly, perhaps they could meet a few more times.

Wei Qianqian thought to herself, a smile appearing on her lips.

Jiang Shaoying was unaware that he had unintentionally left such a deep impression on his savior.

After Wei Qianqian had gone far away, Li Yuebai and Xiao Ai emerged from their hiding place, checked Jiang Shaoying’s injuries, and finding that he was alright, immediately began their return journey.

It was several days later when they arrived at Kunlun Immortal Mountain.

Jiang Shaoying and Xiao Ai passed through the heavily guarded mountain gate and headed into the Kunlun Immortal Mountain, which they hadn’t seen for many days.

As soon as they entered, several cultivators exclaimed, “Aren’t these…aren’t these Master Mu’s two disciples?”

“Indeed, we were sent on a mission by our master and have only just returned today. What advice do you have for us, brother?” Jiang Shaoying, covered in dust from his journey, asked.

“Oh dear, you don’t know yet?” The cultivators hurriedly said, “Master Mu, Master Mu, he…”

“What happened to Master?” Jiang Shaoying’s eyes widened immediately, and he rushed forward to grab the other’s wrist: “Tell me quickly!”

“Yes, what happened to Master?” Xiao Ai looked at everyone’s expressions and panicked as well.

“Alas, Master Mu overworked himself and his primordial spirit is exhausted…” The cultivators shook their heads and sighed, some even shedding tears: “Right now, right now he is resting in the Warm Snow Cave.”

“Warm Snow Cave?” Jiang Shaoying and Xiao Ai gasped, exchanged a glance, and immediately left the others behind, hurrying towards the Warm Snow Cave.

Li Yuebai, hiding in his baggage, smiled silently.

It seemed that his two beloved disciples’ acting skills were not bad. Although they were a bit exaggerated and overly dramatic, it was all reasonable, and his repeated instructions were not in vain.

If you’re going to put on an act, you have to go all the way. The two sped towards the Warm Snow Cave.

The cave entrance was also heavily guarded, with several highly skilled swordsmen standing watch. Upon seeing them, they shouted, “Who goes there?”

“We are the personal disciples of Immortal Master Mu!” Xiao Ai answered loudly. “Returning from our long journey, we heard that our master is seriously ill and were extremely anxious. We have come to visit!”

Her voice trembled with tears, her eyes welling up.

“The Immortal Lord has ordered that no one is allowed to enter!” Although the cultivator felt a pang of pity, he still firmly refused.

“You…” Jiang Shaoying was furious, wishing he could immediately draw his sword and fight.

“Who is it?” After a moment, a figure appeared at the cave entrance— it was Yu Tianji. This time, he was dressed in white, perfectly matching the style of the Warm Snow Cave.

“Reporting to the Immortal Lord, they are the two personal disciples of Immortal Master Mu,” the cultivator reported.

“Oh…” Yu Tianji waved his hand wearily. “Let them in.”

“Yes.” The cultivator dared not disobey and had no choice but to let the two in.

Jiang Shaoying and Xiao Ai walked step by step into the depths of the Warm Snow Cave. When they reached the deepest part of the cave, they saw a white jade bed there, empty.

Yu Tianji sat on a chair covered with white fox fur, smiling at the two of them.

“Master, Master, why are you so sick… Please get up and see Xiao Ai…” Xiao Ai rushed towards the empty white jade bed with tears in her eyes.

“Master!” Jiang Shaoying rushed forward just as fiercely, kneeling on one knee by the bed, his throat choked with sobs, unable to utter a complete sentence.

Yu Tianji stood up unsteadily and said, “Stop playing around, no one outside can hear you.”

“What?” Xiao Ai asked, her voice trembling with tears.

“This is the deepest part of the cave, the sound is blocked, no one outside can hear you at all,” Yu Tianji explained patiently.

“Oh…” The two mischievous children finally relaxed, exchanged glances, dropped their acting, and got up from the ground.

“Beauty Mu.” Yu Tianji grinned and approached, his hands reaching into his pouch to rummage around. “Long time no see, I’ve missed you dearly. How have you been? Hmm, where are you…”

Li Yuebai disgustedly pushed his fingers away and crawled out of the pouch himself.

Yu Tianji was overjoyed and, without a word, picked up the little doll and kissed it.

Jiang Shaoying, watching from the side, was furious again.

Li Yuebai was embarrassed by being kissed so shamelessly in front of his two disciples— the feeling of being played with was too awkward. So, he hurriedly ordered the system to change back to his original normal form.

Yu Tianji wasn’t about to let him go, his arms naturally reaching out to embrace his waist: “Beauty Mu, why didn’t you send a letter back? You’ve made this Immortal Lord so worried.”

“Everything went well on the journey, I didn’t encounter any problems, so I didn’t write to the Immortal Lord,” Li Yuebai said. “Wei Jingyao of Juling Immortal Mountain intends to marry his daughter to the Immortal Lord, and she will arrive in Kunlun soon.”

“Hmm, that’s excellent.” Yu Tianji narrowed his eyes: “I only love Beauty Mu, I have no interest in any other men or women. Those Immortal Lords and Sect Leaders who brought their daughters here have been fooled by me.”

“So you weren’t sincerely going to marry her?” Li Yuebai was taken aback.

“Of course not.” Yu Tianji tightened his embrace: “I won’t choose anyone but you.”
