Jiang Shaoying was furious once again.

He stepped forward abruptly, gave a sharp bow, and said, “Why would the Immortal Lord make such a shameful joke about my master? Is it to humiliate him?”

Yu Tianji, that bast**d, was already licentious and dissolute before, and now that he was the Immortal Lord, no one dared to restrain him, so he had become even more unrestrained. He actually kissed and touched his master like this, making a complete spectacle of himself, which was unbearable to look at. He even used sweet words to say something about “sleeping together every night”!

“Young Master Jiang, this is quite strange.” Yu Tianji coughed lightly, not reprimanding him condescendingly, but speaking slowly as usual: “How do you know that what I said to your master was a joke?”

“Isn’t it?”

“Absolutely not a joke.” Yu Tianji’s smile faded: “This Immortal Lord’s words come from the heart.”

“From the heart?” Jiang Shaoying’s eyes widened suddenly: “But the Immortal Lord is clearly going to marry a noble lady from an immortal sect!”

He had heard it clearly outside Juling Immortal Mountain; that Miss Wei was clearly being forced by her father to prepare for marriage.

“Absolutely not.” Yu Tianji spread his hands: “Who said I was going to marry a noble lady from an immortal sect?”

“Everyone in Kunlun and the other immortal sects knows this.” Xiao Ai also chimed in: “We just returned and heard the cultivators talking about it, saying that you, Immortal Lord, have sent invitations to all the major immortal sects, saying that you are still unmarried… so all the major immortal sects will bring their daughters as guests, hoping for your favor.”

Even Li Yuebai had to admit that these words were not rumors.

Yu Tianji wrote letters to various immortal sects, which he clearly saw. The letters explicitly hinted at a marriage proposal to a noblewoman.

Yu Tianji even stated that marriage alliances with other sects would better expand his own strength; as for feelings, they were optional.

How could things change so quickly?

“I did mention in the letters that I was unmarried, but I didn’t say I had to find a beauty at the Immortal Sect Assembly,” Yu Tianji laughed. “Besides, Beauty Mu once taught me— ‘Without true love, how can one talk about marriage?’ I’ve thought about it carefully these past few days and decided to heed his teachings. From now on, my heart belongs only to Beauty Mu.”

“…” Li Yuebai was also surprised that his well-intentioned advice had led to such a strange result.

Jiang Shaoying was still trying to process Yu Tianji’s words, unable to process them for a long time. He was still confused, thinking— if this was true, then Miss Wei of Juling Immortal Mountain had finally escaped a calamity.

No, while it was certainly good that Miss Wei had escaped a calamity, what about Master? Was his master about to be forced to submit to Yu Tianji?

Looking up again, he saw Yu Tianji smiling and personally serving his master tea and water.

Well, he wouldn’t dare offend his master.

Li Yuebai didn’t have the time to concern himself with such matters of sincerity; after all, the most important thing was the development of the plot.

He first told Yu Tianji everything he had learned outside, and then began to inquire about Su Xu’s situation.

When leaving Kunlun, Yu Tianji had entrusted Su Xu with the task of dealing with the Ji family; several days had passed, and he wondered how things were progressing.

“This immortal master is good at recognizing talent; Su Xu has indeed done a good job,” Yu Tianji smiled. “If Beauty Mu doesn’t believe me, why don’t you look at this bronze mirror?”

He picked up a bronze mirror from the table. The back of the mirror had simple and delicate patterns, while the front was smooth and bright.

Li Yuebai was familiar with this bronze mirror.

When he had just transmigrated, Su Xu and the others forced him to leave the mountain and lead the people to resist the Demonic Sect. At that time, Su Xu had taken out this bronze mirror, which displayed images of the Demonic Sect slaughtering other immortal sects.

In other words, the bronze mirror was like a video player in this cultivation world.

Now, Yu Tianji moved his fingers, and a new “video” played on the mirror.

In the video, Su Xu held a long scroll covered with dense writing. He read it aloud, listing all the crimes of the Ji family: attempting to assassinate Yu Tianji, secretly colluding with the Demonic Sect, making deals with Yu Tianliu and others, leaking Kunlun’s internal secrets, embezzling Kunlun’s treasures, etc. The evidence was varied and comprehensive.

After Su Xu finished reading the charges, a group of cultivators behind him rushed forward, arrested the Ji family head and others, and imprisoned them.

“Happy?” Yu Tianji blinked, looking at Li Yuebai with a smug expression.

Li Yuebai, of course, understood his meaning.

In the original storyline, the Ji family being Yu Tianliu’s loyal supporters; they, along with Su Xu, used similar methods to frame Mu Qingning.

Yu Tianji’s preemptive strike wasn’t just about acquiring the Ji family’s wealth; it also served to avenge Mu Qingning.

“Happy,” Li Yuebai forced a smile.

In truth, even if Yu Tianji hadn’t acted this way, he would have advised him otherwise. There was no room for mercy towards enemies; ruthlessness was the only option.

But even with the victory, he felt no joy, only sorrow.

“Su Xu is probably feeling quite smug now, isn’t he?” Li Yuebai asked.

“He’s practically the second-in-command of Kunlun now, his power is overwhelming, and everyone on Kunlun Mountain is terrified of him,” Yu Tianji laughed. “He’s eager to take over the position of High Priest after your death.”

“The Kunlun cultivators are truly afraid of you, Immortal Lord,” Li Yuebai said. “If you dare to attack a powerful family like the Ji family, how can others not be afraid? They all understand that Su Xu is merely a tool of yours, a fox borrowing the tiger’s power.”

“Is that so? I feel the same as before, nothing has changed,” Yu Tianji chuckled, taking a sip of his tea.

“Su Xu has obtained the power he desired most, and now he’s probably eager to take revenge on his enemies and eliminate dissidents,” Li Yuebai speculated.

In the original story, Su Xu was always extremely efficient and unwilling to wait or procrastinate, especially when it came to revenge— the sooner the better.

“With the Ji family downfall, framing others has become much easier,” Yu Tianji shrugged. “Just one sentence, saying someone is an accomplice of the Ji family, and a whole host of people are implicated.”

“You didn’t restrain Su Xu?” Li Yuebai asked.

“Of course not,” Yu Tianji replied.

“Su Xu is carried away with his pride, and no one is restraining him…” Li Yuebai said in a deep voice, “In other words, with just a little investigation, you can gather evidence of his crimes and crush him in one fell swoop.”

“Master Mu, please do as you please,” Yu Tianji smiled. “Do whatever you want, as long as you’re happy.”

For the next few days, Li Yuebai stayed in the Warm Snow Cave. When he needed to enter or leave, he could transform into a small puppet. With the assistance of his two disciples, he quickly gathered evidence of Su Xu’s crimes.

Everything was ready; a miraculous resurrection was possible.

That morning, the cultivators guarding the entrance to the Warm Snow Cave were astonished to see someone slowly emerge from within.

He wore a white robe, had white hair, and a gentle demeanor. Though his figure had thinned somewhat, his elegance remained undiminished.

“Master Mu… Master Mu?” The cultivators stared wide-eyed, hastily bowing, “You… how…?”

Everyone knew that since Mu Qingning had been sent to the Warm Snow Cave to recuperate, it meant he was terminally ill and had no chance of coming out.

For many days, the Immortal Lord had frequently visited, and his two disciples had also come often, but no one had seen Master Mu emerge from the cave even once. They all thought he must be too ill to move, bedridden.

Everyone was silently counting the days, waiting to see how long Master Mu could hold on.

In this life, because Su Xu was busy dealing with the Ji family and eliminating dissidents, he had already considered Mu Qingning as dead. Furthermore, with Yu Tianji in charge, he hadn’t deliberately spread rumors to damage Mu Qingning’s reputation. Therefore, after defeating the Demonic Sect, the cultivators of Kunlun generally held Mu Qingning in high esteem. Upon learning of his serious illness, many secretly grieved or gathered to sigh in relief.

No one had expected him to rise from the dead.

“No need for formalities.” Li Yuebai coughed a few times, forcing a smile. “You’ve all worked hard these past few days.”

“No, no, not at all!” the cultivators hurriedly replied. “Master Mu’s recovery is a great blessing for Kunlun!”

“It’s best not to talk too much after recovering from a serious illness, lest you strain your mind and spirit.” A soft laugh came, and Yu Tianji followed Li Yuebai out.

“Immortal Master.” The cultivators bowed in unison.

“From today onwards, Master Mu no longer needs to stay in this Warm Snow Cave.” Yu Tianji said, “Come with me back to the Auspicious Hall first to handle some matters.”

Li Yuebai, having just recovered from a serious illness, naturally couldn’t fly on his sword alone. Escorted by the crowd, he rode on a sword with Yu Tianji, returning to the Auspicious Hall in a short while.

Soon, the physicians also arrived upon hearing the news.

Outsiders were not allowed to enter the Warm Snow Cave, so the physicians were only able to examine Li Yuebai after he arrived at the Auspicious Hall.

After examining his pulse, they were both surprised and delighted.

“I recall taking your pulse several days ago and finding it weak,” a physician stroked his long beard and said. “Today, when I took your pulse again, it was steady. I wonder why?”

“Indeed,” the other physicians exclaimed in amazement. “Could this Warm Snow Cave truly have such miraculous effects?”

“The Warm Snow Cave is good, but it can only regulate the body; it cannot change the pulse,” the first physician replied.

“To be honest,” Li Yuebai had no choice but to explain, “the reason for my recovery is thanks to my two personal disciples.”

Most of the cultivators knew Jiang Shaoying and Xiao Ai and knew they had been away for some time, but they were unaware that the two had performed such a great service, and they were all curious.

“Before the battle with the Demonic Sect, I sent two of them out of the mountains to scout the enemy’s situation,” Li Yuebai said frankly. “When they returned after completing their mission, they received news on the way that I was seriously ill, so they didn’t return directly but headed north to Tianshan.”

Tianshan was north of Kunlun, an extremely cold place where ordinary cultivators dared not go for fear of encountering misfortune.

“By sheer chance, the two of them actually found a rare treasure in Tianshan,” Li Yuebai said.

“Could it be…could it be…” Everyone vaguely guessed.

“Tianshan Snow Lotus?”

“It must be Tianshan Snow Lotus! Only such a divine object can greatly increase one’s true energy!”

Tianshan Snow Lotus was extremely famous, but its occurrence was extremely rare, and ordinary cultivators rarely saw it in their entire lives.

“Master Mu’s illness was due to the depletion of true energy, and the Heavenly Snow Lotus is precisely what replenishes true energy.” The physician clapped his hands in praise, “Master Mu is indeed a lucky person.”

“I only learned the cause and effect after I woke up,” Li Yuebai said with a wry smile, “My two beloved disciples risked their lives, and I truly feel guilty.”

“You can’t say that. You have always been devoted to teaching your disciples, so it’s only right that they repay your kindness.” The physicians laughed.

After some polite exchanges, the matter of being brought back from the dead was accepted by everyone.

“System, do you think we… are troublesome?” Li Yuebai complained inwardly.

“It is quite troublesome.” The system answered honestly, “To deceive Su Xu, we made such a big show of it… but the effect is quite obvious.”

“Yes, without this, we wouldn’t have been able to defeat the Ji family and Su Xu.” Li Yuebai said.

Soon, Su Xu received a message from his confidant: Mu Qingning was not dead, and had recovered completely!

Upon receiving the news, Su Xu was so shocked that he almost dropped the scepter in his hand.

After Mu Qingning woke up, wouldn’t the position of High Priest be out of his reach?

Immediately afterward, the Immortal Lord summoned him to the Auspicious Hall.

Su Xu steadied himself and headed towards the Auspicious Hall.

He was certain that even if Mu Qingning returned, it wouldn’t be a big deal. Mu Qingning was gentle and kind by nature, always lenient with him, and would definitely not cause him trouble upon waking.

Furthermore, Yu Tianji had entrusted him with an important task; if he fulfilled it without failing him, there would be no conflict.

Su Xu stepped into the Auspicious Hall. The usually empty hall was now filled with cultivators, all of them Yu Tianji’s most elite personal guards. Yu Tianji sat at the head of the table.

Below the Immortal Lord’s seat was a table with a soft cushion behind it. Mu Qingning, as usual, knelt behind the table, head bowed, flipping through the scrolls on it. He was still dressed in white, his expression gentle, his fingers steady as he turned the scrolls, subtly exuding an aura of unapproachable authority.
