Rural areas relied on the mountains for their livelihood, and the back mountains were teeming with rare treasures. Yun Zheng planned to use her innate talent to search for valuable medicinal herbs.
After all, she needed to earn money for her family, and she needed some initial capital. After much thought, Yun Zheng decided that selling medicinal herbs was a good idea.
Although the laboratory had good medicinal herbs that she could sell, Yun Zheng didn’t want to live off their savings; she would save those for future emergencies.
Her grandmother said that there were ferocious birds and beasts in these deep mountains. During famines, many villagers would go into the mountains in groups to hunt, but very few would come out alive. So, most people only dared to dig up some wild vegetables and mushrooms on the front of the mountain.
Since there were many poisonous wild animals on the mountain, Yun Zheng had found some herbs with insect-repelling properties in her spatial storage before coming. She ground them into powder and sprinkled it on herself as she walked, and so she had a peaceful journey.
This was Yun Zheng’s first time in such a place. Fortunately, she was brave, remaining unfazed even when stepping on centipedes or seeing snakes lurking in the trees. So she successfully reached the heart of the mountains. Using her flashlight, Yun Zheng saw many medicinal herbs growing around her. As a professional doctor, collecting herbs was instinctive.
She unceremoniously uprooted any that caught her eye and threw them into her spatial storage. In less than half an hour, Yun Zheng had collected all the useful herbs in the area.
“This trip has been quite fruitful,” Yun Zheng thought happily. Just then, she suddenly smelled a very special, refreshing fragrance!
Her sense of smell was exceptional; she was naturally sensitive to plant scents. While others relied on their eyes to find herbs, she could locate the desired one from hundreds of herbs with just a sniff, never making a mistake. So, she immediately recognized the scent as ginseng!
Yun Zheng quickly went to a large tree and, using her flashlight, soon saw the wild ginseng growing behind it. She almost jumped for joy!
Ginseng was a very precious thing. It could enhance the efficacy of medicines, and when stewed in soup, it could prolong life. Not to mention the one in front of her, which was clearly hundreds of years old!
She had originally hoped to dig up some good medicinal herbs to sell, but with this ginseng, all her worries were gone. Yun Zheng seemed to see countless coins flying in.
She was rich!
But just as she cautiously reached out to dig up the ginseng, it suddenly flickered before her eyes and vanished in the blink of an eye.

Yun Zheng instantly remembered reading in medical books that these old wild ginsengs growing deep in the mountains could indeed run away. But since she had encountered it, there was no reason to let this treasure go to waste.
Yun Zheng followed the scent. With her excellent night vision, she saw the wild ginseng leaping about like a mischievous child, and gritted her teeth in anger. “Stop right there!”
“Awooo~”
Suddenly, a wolf howl rang out, and a black wolf leaped from the jungle, snatching the leaping ginseng in its mouth. Its green eyes fixed on Yun Zheng.
“…”
Yun Zheng realized she had wandered into an area inhabited by ferocious beasts. Was it too late to run?
She held her breath and stepped back, but this movement caused the black wolf to pounce like lightning.
Just as Yun Zheng was about to manipulate the surrounding plants to trip the wolf, a figure flashed out and kicked the leaping wolf to the ground.
“Huo Beiyu?”
Yun Zheng looked at the man who had suddenly appeared in front of her in surprise, the image of him kicking the wolf flashing through her mind.

“Don’t move.”
Huo Beiyu said to Yun Zheng with his back to her, then engaged the enraged black wolf, who was about to attack, in a fight, wielding his wood-chopping axe.
