“Are you Zhuang Li?” Yun Ming walked step by step to the young man, lowering his eyes to ask. For some reason, his throat had suddenly become extremely dry.

“Yun Ming?” Zhuang Li did not get up, but leaned back in his chair, tilted his face up, and asked with a smile.

His narrow eyes were illuminated by the crystal chandelier above him, radiating a shimmering light that made him even more beautiful, like a mesmerizing dream.

Yun Ming, who was looking at him, had to close his eyes to dispel the dizziness that made him feel like he could be sucked in at any moment.

When Ouyang Mingtang and Zhuang Li went to court, Yun Ming had also learned about Zhuang Li. At that time, he only felt that the other party was a crazy, obsessive, and unreasonable omega. Although he was beautiful and came from a prominent family, he did not have any noble qualities commensurate with him.

But now, when Yun Ming saw the real person with his own eyes, he realized how huge the discrepancy was between the online reports and reality.

Just those deep, bright, yet mysterious eyes alone were enough for him to go to great lengths to explore.

Yun Ming stood in front of Zhuang Li, completely forgetting the purpose of his visit.

An adjutant standing behind him produced a search warrant and said coldly, “We suspect you of framing the deputy commander of the Fifth Army Corps. We are searching this building!” He then waved his hand, signaling the soldiers behind him to rush upstairs.

Unfortunately, all the elevators leading to the upper floors were locked by Zhuang Li, and without identification cards, these people couldn’t get in at all.

Zhuang Li stared straight at Yun Ming and calmly said, “I’m sorry, you don’t have the authority to search this building.”

“I believe that within the Empire, apart from the Imperial Palace, there is no place our Fifth Legion cannot enter. If you do not open the elevator, we have the right to take over your company, freeze your assets, and take you to the military headquarters for detention,” the adjutant declared forcefully.

Yun Ming glanced at him, his tone icy: “I seem to be nothing more than a decoration, only needing to listen to your orders the whole time?”

The accusation was so serious that the adjutant turned pale and repeatedly denied it.

Although there were subtle signs of a power shift in the Fifth Army Corps, Yun Ming’s control over the entire military headquarters remained unchanged. He could hand over power to Ouyang Mingtang, and he could also take it back at any time. After all, the generals he had brought with him all held key positions in the military headquarters and were extremely loyal to him.

This adjutant had recently been promoted by Ouyang Mingtang repeatedly. He had thus become too proud and was now overstepping the authority of the army commander.

He dared to issue orders even in front of the army commander, and such an unbridled attitude inevitably raised many questions.

“Freezing the legal assets of Imperial citizens requires an authorization letter signed by the military commander. I haven’t even spoken yet, and you’ve already made the decision for me. So, you no longer respect me?” Yun Ming looked at the adjutant, his face terribly gloomy.

“Commander, that’s not what I meant! I didn’t think that way, you’ve misunderstood…” the adjutant explained, sweating profusely.

Especially in the final moments of a power transition, their side must not show any eagerness or arrogance, otherwise everything would fail.

If Yun Ming were to become alarmed by this trivial matter and subsequently postpone or even abandon his retirement plans, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The adjutant couldn’t bear this responsibility, so he completely forgot what he was there to do and only wanted to clear up this fatal misunderstanding.

But Yun Ming’s thoughts had already wandered elsewhere.

In fact, he wasn’t as angry as he appeared; what he said earlier was just an excuse to vent his anger.

The deputy commander had sexual relations with a dog; if this explosive news were to spread, the reputation of the Fifth Army Corps would be severely damaged. Before retiring, Yun Ming hoped to maintain a perfect resume, but this scandal has seriously disrupted his plans.

Since the deputy commander had fallen, he, as the commander, had no choice but to step in personally to smooth things over, so he stood before Zhuang Li.

Then he realized that this originally simple task might become a Waterloo[1] in his military career. Because he had softened his heart.

Under the gaze of those mysterious, watery eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to break into the building like a robber, ransacking things, smashing things, and searching for evidence.

That kind of scene would be very ugly, and he didn’t want to leave such an impression on the minds of this young man.

So he became “furious,” like a tyrant, but a tyrant was always better than a robber.

He didn’t want to investigate this case anymore; he’d just let it go. The dog had hurt Zhuang Li, and now it had been bitten to death by Ouyang Mingtang, its neck severed. They were even now.

Thinking of this, Yun Ming’s heart not only failed to find peace, but instead surged with boundless rage. He clenched his fists, suddenly wanting to strangle the dog to death, and even more so, to snap the neck of the culprit, Ouyang Mingtang.

Therefore, when he looked at the adjutant, his face already showed a suffocating murderous aura.

The adjutant removed his military cap and wiped his sweat repeatedly, completely panicked and disoriented. For the first time, he realized that the Fifth Legion still belonged to Yun Ming. What did it matter how glorious Ouyang Mingtang was? He could only ever live in Yun Ming’s shadow.

These people didn’t even have the right to look Yun Ming in the eye, let alone overstep their bounds.

The soldiers had lost all interest in searching the building. They were gradually realizing that the deputy commander’s ambitions seemed to have crossed some dangerous line, to the point that even his lackeys dared to disregard the commander.

Ha! Who gave Ouyang Mingtang this courage? Does he really think the Fifth Legion is already in his grasp?

“Commander, let’s go. It’s just a dead dog, what’s the big deal? Since Ouyang Mingtang likes it, let’s each give him one when we get back,” a soldier said gruffly.

The rest of the people all burst into mocking laughter.

Having achieved his goal, Yun Ming went along with it, saying, “Let’s go, there’s no need to investigate this matter. I came out in the middle of the night to salvage the reputation of the Fifth Legion, not to run errands for Ouyang Mingtang.”

Upon hearing this, the adjutant felt even more terrified.

7480 was stunned: “…”

“I thought the god would personally drag you to prison,” 7480 muttered to itself, feeling extremely disappointed.

Zhuang Li sat lazily on the sofa, propping his chin up with his hand, his narrow eyes squinting as he quietly watched his lover’s performance. He knew that this person would never hurt him under any circumstances.

Even if he didn’t remember anything, he still couldn’t bear to part with him.

Zhuang Li smiled sweetly.

For a fleeting moment, upon seeing the young man’s crescent-shaped amber eyes and upturned, crimson lips, Yun Ming smelled the intense aroma of honey mixed with strawberries.

No one knew that Yun Ming’s nose was born unable to smell any glands, nor would he go mad from the influence of an omega. More precisely, he was a naturally castrated person, completely out of place in this world.

He lacked the desire to be with a omega, his emotions were not relieved, and his body could not metabolize properly, thus he developed bipolar disorder.

His early retirement was also due to his deteriorating health.

However, at this moment, he could truly smell the fragrance on Zhuang Li’s body, so sweet, soft, sticky, and mellow, flowing directly into his bloodstream through his pores, giving him an uncontrollable physiological urge.

The crisp military uniform concealed Yun Ming’s unusual demeanor, but it could not hide the shock in his heart.

He always thought he would never become a normal man, but it turned out he was wrong. He had always been normal; he just hadn’t met the right person.

Yun Ming’s heart was in turmoil, but his handsome face remained expressionless.

He suppressed his boiling blood and burning desire, gave Zhuang Li a deep look, and then waved his hand to order: “Fall back.”

Zhuang Li stared at his bright red ears and said in a melodious voice, “Wait, there’s something I want to show the commander.”

“What is it?” Yun Ming turned around and asked seriously.

“Come with me.” Zhuang Li leaned back on the sofa and beckoned to the tall man with her index finger.

It was an extremely flirtatious gesture, but Zhuang Li’s expression was even more alluring. A beautiful curve appeared at the corner of his crimson lips, and his shimmering, watery eyes seemed to conceal some unspeakable secret.

If it were any other omega doing this, Yun Ming would frown in disgust and then turn and leave.

But now, he found himself stepping forward involuntarily, asking in a hoarse voice, “What do you want to show me?”

“Only you can see this; they have to wait outside.” Zhuang Li deliberately made his words ambiguous.

In that instant, Yun Ming’s heart began to pound wildly, and the desire he had finally managed to suppress burned like wildfire. He knew that Zhuang Li’s glands had been damaged and he shouldn’t have any scent, but he could definitely smell the fragrance emanating from Zhuang Li.

At this moment, the fragrance transformed from honey strawberry to the rich aroma of poppies, a mere whiff of which could create a dizzying, cloud-like sensation.

Yun Ming was unknowingly drawn away by Zhuang Li’s fingertips.

The soldiers he brought wanted to follow, but he stopped them sternly: “You wait here.”

He managed to suppress the spasms and tremors of his vocal cords, but he couldn’t suppress the restless desires and intense longings within him.

The fragrance emanating from Zhuang Li was the most potent drug to him, irresistible to both body and mind. But when he lowered his eyes, he could see the hideous scar on the back of Zhuang Li’s neck, the remnant of a completely destroyed gland.

This indicated that Zhuang Li could not emit any fragrance, so what was it that he was smelling?

Yun Ming was deep in thought the whole way. It wasn’t until Zhuang Li pressed his shoulders down onto the sofa that he realized he had unknowingly arrived at a huge underground laboratory. A light screen was floating directly above the laboratory, playing a video.

“This is what I want the commander to see,” Zhuang Li said, standing behind Yun Ming and pointing to the screen.

Yun Ming looked up, stared absentmindedly for a while, and then his expression grew increasingly shocked.

Only then did Zhuang Li place a plan into his pocket, the cover of which had a large title: “The Zerg Extinction Plan”.

In the original world, Zhuang Li, after growing up, repeatedly pondered this question: If I could go back in time and face those Zergs, what could I do for my country and people? Could I save them?

This thought almost became his inner demon, and a regret he could never make up for.

Therefore, even though humanity had fled Earth and settled on Mars, escaping the Zerg’s pursuit, his research on the Zerg never ceased. He conceived countless plans to exterminate the Zerg and produced many scientific achievements, but none of them had a chance to be put to use.

But now, things were different. The extermination plans he had kept in his mind could finally be put into practice.

“Commander, now you understand why I said you weren’t qualified to search this building, right? These research results absolutely cannot be leaked. After all, advanced Zerg can disguise themselves as humans and lurk among us.” Zhuang Li pressed down on Yun Ming’s shoulders, bent down slightly, and breathed hot air into his ear.

Yun Ming’s ears burned, and he was equally shocked and speechless.

He quickly finished reading the plan, looked up at the screen, and decisively said, “I will contact the high command of the military immediately.”

“If you want me to continue this research, you must give up on Ouyang Mingtang,” Zhuang Li said coldly, straightening his back.

Yun Ming didn’t hesitate for even a second: “Okay, if the military experts prove that your research results are true and reliable, we will hand Ouyang Mingtang over to you for disposal.”

7480: It’s over, Ouyang Mingtang is doomed! The egg really did smash the stone.
