TW: Some graphic imagery; continued animal cruelty

The scent synthesized by Zhuang Li using nanotechnology was different from the scent emitted by Chen Jingliu himself.

Although they smelt the same, their concentration, intensity, diffusion speed, and diffusion mode were completely different.

Chen Jingliu’s glandular scent was already stronger and spread faster than that of a normal omega. Zhuang Li further enhanced the intensity of this scent by 30%.

30% may not sound like much, but Zhuang Li calculated that this level of enhancement was already a critical point for the scent of Chen Jingliu’s glands.

In fact, many fragrances turned into foul smells once they exceeded a certain threshold, with musk being the most typical example.

Zhuang Li grasped this threshold, maximizing Chen Jingliu’s glandular scent to its most intense and disruptive level without compromising its original character. Once someone became particularly fond of this scent, they would immediately fall into a state of infatuation.

Zhuang Li then used nanotechnology to make the diffusion speed of these odor molecules faster than a bullet. In other words, the moment it came into contact with the air, people nearby could smell it immediately.

Even more frightening was that these odor molecules diffused not only through the air but also through the blood. In other words, the moment they came into contact with the human body, they could enter the capillaries through the pores and quickly spread throughout the body.

When an alpha smelt the scent of an omega, their nose first transmitted the scent to the brain, which then triggered various bodily reactions. There would definitely be a delay in this process.

However, blood infection required no judgment from the brain. In an instant, the alpha’s body would be ignited by these odor molecules, like gasoline meeting an open flame, producing a violent explosion with absolutely no possibility of extinguishing it.

Even the strongest will could not resist the infection of these odor molecules in the blood.

Right now, Ouyang Mingtang has gone mad, biting the black dog by the scruff of its neck and making all sorts of obscene gestures.

The surrounding guests were stunned. After a while, a few alphas ran up to stop them. But as soon as they smelled the fragrance in the air, their eyes turned red, and they all rushed over and joined Ouyang Mingtang’s group as well.

The barking of a dog, shouting of people, panting— a cacophony of indescribable, nauseating noises— transformed this high-society dinner into the most sordid and vulgar scene imaginable.

Those who came forward to help were all friends or supporters of Ouyang Mingtang, who frequently posted attacks on Zhuang Li online and even attempted to force Zhuang Li to commit suicide with vicious language.

It’s just unknown whether they will be able to survive once this video was circulated to the outside world.

Zhuang Li walked around the group of people, filming their embarrassing behavior from all angles. Seeing that some other alphas were also coming over, trying to quell the situation, he pressed a button on his smart device and turned to leave.

The scent pump mounted on the back of the black dog’s neck immediately exploded into pieces. It was only the size of a sesame seed, and all its parts were soluble in blood, so it quickly vanished without a trace. The intensely strong, almost intoxicating scent also dissipated.

When Ouyang Mingtang and his friends were pulled apart, their unfocused eyes gradually regained some clarity, and then they revealed an extremely embarrassed expression.

When Chen Jingliu walked up to him to ask what was going on, he kept his head down and didn’t even have the courage to look at him.

Why did this happen? He actually did it with a dog in front of his sweetheart…

Ouyang Mingtang, who was fearless even when facing the Zerg, was completely unable to recall what had just happened. He was breathing heavily; his body was not injured, but it felt as if every cell in his body was in pain.

This is the taste of shame! Shame that seeps into the very bones!

“Zhuang Li has a problem, you’d better check him out,” Chen Jingliu said calmly, then stood up and walked towards the door: “I’ll call an ambulance for you, you can go to the rest room to clean up first.”

Ouyang Mingtang suddenly looked up, revealing a look of resistance.

Even though Chen Jingliu had his back to him, he seemed to be able to guess his thoughts and immediately added, “I called an ambulance from the Fifth Legion. No one outside will know about this. I have already issued a gag order in your name. No one in the banquet hall will reveal what happened today.”

Ouyang Mingtang immediately felt relieved, but then his face darkened again, and he said through gritted teeth, “Zhuang Li ran away in the chaos!”

“Don’t worry, I’ve already informed all the media outlets. They will immediately destroy any emails they receive from Zhuang Li. They would never dare to open or view them, much less publish them. I’ve already had all of Zhuang Li’s social media accounts blocked by the Internet Management Bureau. The videos he filmed have nowhere to be published; they’ll just rot in his own hands.”

With his back to Ouyang Mingtang, Chen Jingliu spoke methodically: “I suspect he tampered with this dog. I’ll take it for an autopsy later to see if we can find any relevant evidence. I also found out that Zhuang Li has been living with this dog at his biotechnology company recently, secretly conducting some kind of experiment.”

“I have already instructed the military to search his laboratory, and we will soon have evidence that he framed you. This time, he will face severe legal consequences. Framing an Imperial Army Commander is a serious crime; he will spend the rest of his life in prison.”

“Is there anything else I haven’t considered? If so, send the instructions to my AI and I’ll handle it for you. You don’t need to worry about these guests; go and rest. I’ll see them off.”

Chen Jingliu slowly walked out of the banquet hall, his gentle voice fading away with him. He completely understood the commander’s feelings, so he considerately avoided him.

Ouyang Mingtang stared in the direction where he disappeared for a long time, let out a heavy breath, then covered his blood-stained face with his palm and chuckled with great relief.

He had fallen in love with Chen Jingliu not only because of his unique fragrance, but also because of his calmness and wisdom.

He always managed to handle any disaster calmly and methodically. He was as delicate and beautiful as a flower, yet more steady and reliable than a towering tree. This contradictory quality was what made him so captivating.

A crisis was quickly averted under Chen Jingliu’s methodical command; it would be a real shame to only have him as a military doctor.

….

After leaving the banquet hall, Zhuang Li got into his luxury sports car and sped through the steel jungle filled with neon lights, a smile of excitement on his face.

“System, look forward to the next game,” he sighed in his mind.

7480: “Master, let me remind you, all your social media accounts have been blocked, and the media is refusing your submissions. The video you just filmed has no chance of being published. Master, although I may not be very smart, but I know that you have been expelled from your family, are powerless, have no background, and have a terrible reputation. As the deputy commander, it would be too easy for Ouyang Mingtang to kill you! Fighting him is like throwing an egg against a rock!”

“The real fun is in smashing a rock with an egg.” Zhuang Li opened the car roof, exposing himself to the night wind, his hearty laughter echoing as his hair flew in the wind.

7480: “Master, have you gone mad from all this stimulation?”

“I’m not crazy, I’m just waiting for someone to appear.” Zhuang Li opened his smart brain and pulled up a photo of the Fifth Army Corps Commander.

7480 looked closely, and then was shocked. Holy crap, isn’t this the god?! When did the host find him?!

“Although the Fifth Legion is numbered five, its combat strength is the strongest among all the legions. Otherwise, how could Ouyang Mingtang, a mere deputy commander, be on equal footing with the Crown Prince?” Zhuang Li said with a contemptuous smile.

7480 continued reading the god’s profile and learned that the god had not appeared in public for five consecutive years, and had gradually handed over the affairs of the legion to Ouyang Mingtang, seemingly preparing to retire.

However, as the empire’s only top-tier alpha with a 4S physique, and possessing illustrious military achievements, having personally annihilated two Zerg emperors, his influence and deterrent power remained.

The people of the empire hailed Ouyang Mingtang and the Crown Prince as pillars of the future. The word “future” implied that they were currently completely powerless against the god, and he was the current pillar of the empire.

The two of them still had a long way to go before they could replace the god.

“Yun Ming? The same name as in the previous world.” Zhuang Li smiled, pursing his lips.

7480 asked curiously, “Master, he has such a high status, how will you see him?”

“I don’t need to see him; he’ll come to me himself. Why do you think I would use such methods to deal with Ouyang Mingtang?” Zhuang Li asked casually.

7480: “For revenge.”

Zhuang Li sneered, “Dealing with Ouyang Mingtang is just a side effect. My real purpose was to alarm Yun Ming. With his deputy commander causing such a huge scandal, he can’t possibly pretend not to know. He’ll notice me immediately and then come looking for me.”

7480 finally understood the host’s thought process, and then trembled with fear.

It reminded him of a story: a girl fell in love at first sight with a handsome young man who came to mourn her mother at her funeral, and then she killed her own sister, just so she could hold another funeral and see the young man one more time.

Right now, Yun Ming was that boy, and Ouyang Mingtang was the sister who was killed off on the spur of the moment. Its host was a complete psychopath!

7480 quickly scurried into a dark corner and hugged himself tightly.

It was mourning for everyone who had offended the host.

….

Zhuang Li rushed back to the company, changed into a fitted suit, styled his hair, and sat in the lobby downstairs with his legs crossed, quietly waiting for his lover to arrive.

Half an hour later, an unusually tall soldier led a group of soldiers and pushed open the door to walk in.

His thick, dark eyebrows were furrowed, and his sharp eyes locked onto Zhuang Li’s figure in an instant. His handsome face showed no expression, yet it was as cold and stern as steel. He wore a crisp military uniform and gleaming military boots. His steps were heavy yet steady, like a moving mountain, carrying an imposing aura.

Zhuang Li rested his chin on his hand and looked at him lazily. With a blink of his eyes, a bright smile bloomed on his lips.

His cool and aloof face was tinged with a vibrant color by that smile, like light scattered in a hazy mist, reflecting a magnificent splendor.

The moment Yun Ming saw him, his terrible impression of this person completely collapsed and overturned, leaving only indescribable palpitations and dizziness. In a daze, he almost thought he saw a rainbow.
