Xiao Jing felt his breath on her face and reacted in surprise by making a defensive movement.

Yan Mo seemed to have anticipated Xiao Jing’s resistance, and forcefully grabbed her hands behind her back, binding them tightly.

Xiao Jing turned her head away, gritted her teeth, and deliberately lowered her voice, saying, “General Yan Mo, what are you trying to do?”

“I want to kiss you,” Yan Mo said bluntly.

Xiao Jing frowned and struggled violently.

This time, Yan Mo was determined, and with one burst of energy, he pinned the struggling man against the wall, saying in a roguish tone, “No matter what you want to say, I’m going to kiss you today.”

Xiao Jing disregarded her injuries and instinctively raised one leg high the moment he approached.

Yan Mo reacted quickly, releasing one hand to catch the leg that was kicking at him. But the instant he let go, he felt his other hand slip out of his control as well.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Xiao Jing pulled with all her might, pushing the man who was trying to suppress her away slightly, and then clenched her fist and swung it down his cheek.

Yan Mo warily dodged his fist, grabbed Xiao Jing’s arms again, and twisted his fingers on Xiao Jing’s arms, trying to use brute force to dissipate his strength.

Xiao Jing felt pain, but she didn’t care whether doing so would aggravate her injury. She turned around and kicked, her right leg crossing over her head and landing directly on Yan Mo’s head, who was restraining her from behind.

Yan Mo was kicked squarely in the forehead, and he took a step back in a panic, cursing, “I just don’t like you special forces guys. You start fighting at the drop of a hat, and even when you’re fighting, you always go for the face.”

Xiao Jing leaned against the wall, catching her breath. The high leg movement aggravated the wound on her waist. She touched her waist, which felt wet.

Yan Mo noticed a few drops of blood on the floor and asked in surprise, “Your wound has reopened?”

Xiao Jing made a defensive stance, fearing that he might suddenly lose to his beastly nature again, and coldly refused, saying, “Please, General Yan Mo, have some self-respect.”

Yan Mo hurriedly took two steps back, trying to calm him down: “Don’t worry, I won’t force you anymore. Don’t panic, I’ll go find a medic.”

Xiao Jing leaned against the wall and slowly sat down. The wound was tearing with pain. She hugged her legs tightly with both hands and buried her head in her knees. The blood on her waist quickly soaked the gauze.

Yan Mo led a large group of people out of the infirmary.

Seeing the figures approaching from afar, Xiao Jing waved her hand, indicating that she did not need their help.

Yan Mo followed closely behind, looking as pitiful as a pet following its master, afraid that the master would get angry and throw it away.

Xiao Jing glanced at the man following closely behind her and said coldly, “General Yan Mo, please return.”

“I’m not leaving, I want to take care of you.”

“With you here, I’m afraid I won’t have any peace of mind.”

Yan Mo pouted, looking aggrieved. “I promise I won’t lay a hand on you again.”

“General Yan Mo, I initially had a good impression of you, and I hope you won’t leave me with only fear in the end.”

Yan Mo focused his mind and hurriedly said, “Okay, okay, I’ll go, I’ll come back tomorrow.”

Xiao Jing walked into the treatment room and looked at the medics who were busy arranging suture equipment. She said, “I can suture myself.”

The medic looked up. Although special forces members were generally capable of rescue, he had a hole in his waist that was still bleeding. How could he so casually say that he could stitch it up himself?

Haha, doesn’t he feel pain?

Xiao Jing stared intently at the three of them, took the suturing equipment from their hands, and said, “I don’t need your help anymore.”

“This is our job,” one of them said.

“The government will pay your salaries on time.”

“Lieutenant Xiao, your wounds have become infected and require immediate treatment. Please cooperate with our work,” the medic continued.

“I’ll handle it myself.” Xiao Jing stared intently at the three of them, her eyes filled with a strong sense of rejection.

“If Captain Xiao insists on doing so, then let us go out first.” The three of them walked out one after the other.

Xiao Jing lifted her shirt, looked at the wound on her waist that was already soaked with blood, picked up a pair of scissors and snipped the gauze into pieces.

The stench of blood in the air grew stronger, and she couldn’t help but furrow her brow. With each breath, a considerable amount of blood flowed from her wound.

She took out gauze and first covered the wound. Special forces rarely needed anesthesia for surgery, firstly because they were worried about developing a dependence on the drug, and secondly because excessive use of anesthesia could cause sluggishness and even affect the dexterity of the hands.

Sweat beaded on her forehead, and her fingertips trembled uncontrollably. Each time the needle pierced her flesh, she couldn’t help but convulse.

“Huff huff huff.” After the wound was stitched up again, Xiao Jing took the towel out of her mouth, closed her eyes, and sat down in the chair, exhausted.

“Tick-tock, tick-tock.” The clock on the wall chimed leisurely. She opened her eyes, glanced at the time, reapplied the medicine, and walked out of the treatment room like a normal person.

“Go and bring the cart over quickly.”

As soon as Xiao Jing stepped out of the treatment room, she saw a group of people rushing down the corridor.

“Lieutenant Colonel Cheng Chen has a penetrating wound in his shoulder. He needs immediate surgery.”

Xiao Jing looked at the man who was being pushed off the ambulance; he had already lost consciousness and was surrounded by blood.

Qi Yue was making the handover with a furrowed brow.

Xiao Jing stepped forward, stood at attention, and asked, “Instructor, isn’t the first training session over yet?”

“This is the second match.” Qi Yue looked anxious. “The Zhan Yi team came prepared.”

Xiao Jing tensed up when she heard about their old rivals. They had wiped out the Zhan Yi team three or four times recently. These guys must be holding onto a lot of energy. Even if they couldn’t beat Tie Ying on the battlefield, they would still be prepared to fight back with the intention of dying together with them.

Qi Yue lit a cigarette and calmly said, “We have five people left on our side, Captain—”

Seeing his silence, Xiao Jing’s heart skipped a beat, and she blurted out, “What’s wrong with Captain?”

Qi Yue hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. “I’d better not say anything. You should focus on recovering.”

Xiao Jing instinctively grabbed Qi Yue’s arm, her worry evident on her face. She then asked anxiously, “What happened to the captain?”

Qi Yue glanced at the hand that was abruptly extended by him. It seemed that military rules were meaningless to this guy. He said, “It’s nothing, it’s just the Captain…”

“Instructor, what happened?”

Qi Yue exhaled a smoke ring and said wearily, “The captain was shot twice, but he can’t retreat. If he does, I’m afraid our Tie Ying will be finished in this second match.”

“How did he get shot?”

“Those bast**ds from the Zhan Yi team chased after the captain one by one. Everyone’s only target was him. Cheng Chen was injured while covering the captain’s escape. These bast**ds, after the exercise is over, I’ll make them know what it’s like to be surrounded.”

Xiao Jing watched the instructor leave, unsure if she was acting rashly, but she disregarded the rules to chase after him.

Qi Yue noticed the figure following behind him, his gaze darkening as he asked, “What are you doing here?”

“I want to go and provide support.”

“You have already announced your withdrawal.”

“I’m not dead yet, I’m just injured.” Xiao Jing gripped the car door with both hands.

Qi Yue got out of the car and said clearly, word by word, “Xiao Jing, the special forces’ military training is not child’s play. It’s not something you can just provide support for whenever you want. Stay here properly.”

“Then I’ll go to the front lines and wait, okay? I won’t go into the battlefield.” Xiao Jing insisted as she sat down.

Qi Yue turned around and looked at the figure that was stuck to his car seat like a plaster. If it were based on his previous temper, he would definitely have thrown this guy off. But considering his status, the Xiao family seemed to value this fourth young master. Well, it’s better to avoid trouble.

The car sped away.

Qi Yue opened the window and threw the cigarette butt out of the car window, coldly snorting, “What exactly do you want to do by following them?”

“I can help rescue my comrades,” Xiao Jia said seriously.

Qi Yue looked at her carefully through the rearview mirror several times and continued, “Xiao Jing, don’t think that just because the captain treats you specially, you can break the rules of the military camp time and time again. As an instructor, I should tell you one thing: your behavior today will require you to be confined for two days after you recover from your injuries.”

“Yes, instructor.”

“When we get to the front lines, don’t wander around aimlessly. The bullets inside aren’t the simulated bullets we use for training; they’ll draw blood if they hit you.”

“I see.”

“This might be our Tie Ying team’s last match today. Although our performance this year has been poor, it’s still commendable overall. If we hadn’t faced the Zheng Hu team in our first match, how could we have given those bastards from the Zhan Yi team a chance?” Qi Yue muttered to himself unwillingly.

Xiao Jing turned her head to look out the window. The car was bumping around, which made her wound feel a sharp pain.

As night deepened, gunfire suddenly erupted once again on the southern Serenan Peninsula.

The birds that used to roost in the forest at night took flight one by one.

“Aaaaaah, Shen Chengfeng, I’ll fight you to the death!” Mo Luo’s voice echoed persistently in the forest under the night sky.

Jiang Feng couldn’t help but rub his forehead and ask, “Captain, should we continue the attack?”

“Surround him! We finally got a legitimate chance to gang up on Shen Chengfeng, and I’m not going to let it go for nothing. Even if we lose, we’ll drag Shen Chengfeng down with us.” Mo Luo changed to a new magazine and was the first to walk out of the shelter.

Jiang Feng followed closely behind, a sense of foreboding creeping into his heart.

Fifteen of them advanced to the second round, but ten of them died just trying to take down Shen Chengfeng. Now only five remained, and the situation looked grim.

Mo Luo put down his binoculars, which were obstructed by the darkness. He then said, “Why is Shen Chengfeng so difficult to deal with? I really don’t believe in this nonsense. Gather everyone and come with me.”

“Ahem.” Jiang Feng reminded him at the right moment, “Captain, we are all of is.”

Mo Luo glanced at the four people behind him, his lips twitching slightly. “They’re ruthless enough. Come with me.”

In the pitch-black night, the starlight twinkled in dappled patterns, and the entire forest returned to silence.

Pei Yi squatted down, looked at the wound on his captain’s chest, and frowned, saying, “Mo Luo went all out. He even broke through the bulletproof vest. Captain, you should announce your withdrawal. If this continues, you will die.”

Shen Chengfeng casually loaded the magazine, glanced at the three or four people scattered around him, and said in a normal tone, “All of you, stay put.”

Pei Yi’s expression hardened, and he stood up with Shen Chengfeng, quickly blocking his path, saying, “Captain, do you want to act alone?”

“Jin Shan and Lang Cheng are sniper experts, you are a military strategist, and Cheng Feng is an all-around elite. I think we will face the Jing Lang team in the next match. Xiao Ye may seem unrefined at times, but once he’s on the battlefield, he’s like a wild horse. You must maintain teamwork, proceed step by step, and be cautious.”

Pei Yi couldn’t help but hold her breath; the captain’s words sounded exactly like he was giving his last instructions.

Shen Chengfeng took off his bulky bulletproof vest, looked around, and continued, “The final match is up to you.”

“Captain–“

“Everyone, stay put and stand by.” Shen Chengfeng gave the final order.

Jin Shan, who was hiding in the tree observing the situation, gripped his sniper rifle tightly. Sweat dripped down his forehead, but he remained motionless.

Shen Chengfeng concealed himself in the forest, listening to the intermittent footsteps not far away. He climbed up the tree trunk and looked down at the movements below.

The night fog was thick, and nightingales chirped intermittently around us.

“Swish, swish, swish.” A green snake slowly slithered through the withered leaves, its tongue flicking.

“Captain, I have a feeling something’s off about this place.” Qi Sheng felt a chill run down his spine, unsure whether it was the sudden change in weather after autumn or just his imagination.

“Be careful,” Mo Luo said in a low voice.

Walking at night was inherently dangerous, let alone when you are about to approach enemy territory.

“Captain, what’s that up ahead?” Jiang Feng slowly approached a reflective spot, gun in hand.

After observing them up close, Jiang Feng relaxed his guard and gave Mo Luo and his group a safety signal.

“Bang!” But before he could put his hand down, a gunshot rang out in the night sky, and the next moment, smoke billowed around Jiang Feng.

“There’s an ambush.” Mo Luo waved his hand, and everyone dispersed.

Jiang Feng stood there, both amused and exasperated. His lips twitched slightly. What to do? It seemed like he had died a little too quickly.

Mo Luo cursed under his breath, “Shen Chengfeng, you better not let me find out.”

“Bang.” Before the words were finished, a bullet landed at Mo Luo’s feet.

“Captain, target spotted.” Chen Yi observed the sniping position from before and fired continuously without hesitation.

Shen Chengfeng leaped down from the tree and disappeared into the unfathomable forest in a flash.

“Follow me.” Mo Luo jumped out from behind cover and followed closely behind.

Qi Sheng wanted to remind his captain not to pursue a cornered enemy, but after thinking about the psychological trauma his captain had suffered these past few days, he decided to let him indulge himself this once.

Mo Luo chased after him while firing, determined to let this arrogant Shen Chengfeng know that if he offended him, he would fight to the death with him, even if it cost him everything.

Shen Chengfeng flipped over the rubble, found a new sniping position, aimed at the group of people who were frantically following him, and fired two shots without hesitation.

Mo Luo sensed danger and instinctively dodged to the other side.

“Bang.” The bullet seemed to be on a tracking device, its direction veered off course by the night wind, and it pierced Mo Luo’s calf.

“…” Mo Luo fell to the ground, frowned, and lay there with his assault rifle raised.

Shen Chengfeng continued firing, noticing that he was surrounded on both sides by members of the Zhan Yi team, and fired several shots in quick succession.

Mo Luo rolled a few times on the spot, bullet after bullet landing three centimeters away from him. The craters were still emitting white smoke. He gritted his teeth and seized any opportunity to fight back.

Shen Chengfeng gasped for breath; his vision was starting to blur due to excessive blood loss. He shook his head and replaced the magazine with a new one.

“Attack!” Mo Luo roared.

Shen Chengfeng jumped out from behind the rock and charged headlong towards Mo Luo.

Mo Luo hadn’t expected the guy to rush at him recklessly, so he immediately fired a shot.

The bullet whizzed past Shen Chengfeng’s ear. He took a step forward and grabbed Mo Luo’s pistol at point-blank range with his glove-free hand.

Before Mo Luo could even struggle, his weapon lost its defensive function, and he raised his leg, intending to kick away the big guy who was running towards him.

Shen Chengfeng’s face darkened, and he grabbed Mo Luo’s leg.

A wisp of white smoke rose from the night fog.

Mo Luo’s pupils constricted, and he began to struggle in disbelief, “Let go, let go now.”

Shen Chengfeng released his grip on him and instead punched the other man in the chest.

“Cough cough.” The change was too fast. Mo Luo was knocked a meter away. He grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at the person without any hesitation.

Shen Chengfeng raised his hand to block, but in the blink of an eye, the bullet came from his right rear. He rolled to the side and narrowly avoided it.

Mo Luo clutched his leg, which was covered in corroded skin, with heartache, and limped away from the scene.

Shen Chengfeng lunged forward again, grabbed Mo Luo’s hand and dragged him back, then kicked him squarely in the shoulder.

With a heavy blow to his shoulder blade, Mo Luo fell to the ground in a sorry state. Just as he regained his senses, another foot came hurtling towards him.

Without hesitation, Shen Chengfeng kicked him again, then kicked him several meters away.

“Cough cough cough.” Mo Luo trembled as he tried to get up and continue fighting. As he moved, a bullet was fired at close range. He staggered a few steps due to the force of the impact and was then enveloped in smoke.

Qi Sheng stopped hiding and faced the enemy head-on.

Shen Chengfeng glanced sideways at the figure that was sneaking around behind him, and then leaped onto the back of the fallen Mo Luo.

Qi Sheng halted the attack.

Mo Luo saw his hesitation and roared, “What are you standing there for? Go!”

Qi Sheng ran over quickly.

Mo Luo said anxiously, “Don’t get too close.”

“Bang!” Before the words were finished, a bullet whizzed through the crack in the rocks, carrying the chill of the night, and landed on Qi Sheng’s shoulder.

Qi Sheng paused, and another bullet shattered the night sky and swept in.

Mo Luo closed his eyes, unable to bear witnessing this final massacre.

He gritted his teeth and said fiercely, “Shen Chengfeng, I’ll be back.”

“Bang.” The bullet landed in Mo Luo’s back, and he was knocked to the ground by the huge impact, unsurprisingly getting a mouthful of mud.
