After seeing Su Xu off, Yu Tianji smiled and took out the little puppet, looking at it from left to right and poking it.

“Hyperactive child,” Li Yuebai thought to himself.

“Immortal Master Mu, you were so quiet just now, were you scared?” Yu Tianji teased, “Even someone like Su Xu could scare you, did your courage shrink along with your body?”

“What’s there to be scared of? I just didn’t want to make a mistake,” Li Yuebai said expressionlessly.

“Hahahaha, so cute.” The more Yu Tianji looked at Li Yuebai, the more amusing he found the little puppet, and he became happy, rolling around on the clean jade floor with him in his hands.

Since his transmigration, he had tried all sorts of strange games, but he had never imagined that the aloof and otherworldly Immortal Master would become such a cute little puppet for him to tease. It was really fun, so he was especially happy.

“Immortal Lord,” Li Yuebai said, rubbing his forehead, “I have other important matters to attend to.”

“What are they?” Yu Tianji asked, casually playing with his hair.

“Leave the mountain,” Li Yuebai said, “Go outside Kunlun Immortal Mountain and bring my disciples back.”

Before the decisive battle with the Demonic Sect began, he had sent his two disciples— Jiang Shaoying and Xiao Ai— to Jiuli to monitor Yu Tianliu. Fortunately, the two disciples had fulfilled their mission well, ensuring their own safety and occasionally sending back messages via divine birds. They had already left Yu Tianliu and embarked on their journey back to Kunlun, arriving in a few days.

“Do you really need to personally handle such a matter?” Yu Tianji refused. “I can send a few subordinates to find them.”

“The more people there are, the harder it is to keep the secret,” Li Yuebai said. “Besides, if I stay in Kunlun, sooner or later I’ll slip up and Su Xu will find out. It’s better to stay away.”

“What if we encounter danger?” Yu Tianji gently held the little puppet in his hands. “No, it’s too dangerous outside.”

“Hey… no one will notice me like this,” Li Yuebai helplessly gestured to his appearance. “Moreover, if I encounter danger, I will immediately ask you for help through the system. If I leave the Kunlun Immortal Mountain area, I’ll be close to the two disciples, and they will protect me.”

He appealed to their emotions and reasoned with them for a long time before Yu Tianji finally agreed, but with conditions attached.

“How about this then?” Yu Tianji winked slyly, “Give me a kiss, and I’ll let you go.”

“…How old are you, Immortal Lord?”

“Kiss me.” Yu Tianji’s voice trailed off, sounding both flirtatious and coquettish.

Li Yuebai got goosebumps.

Yu Tianji cupped his face in her hands, pretending to stare at him with innocent eyes.

Enough already.

Li Yuebai rubbed his forehead, unable to bear this attack any longer, and resigned himself to his fate. He raised his neck, reached Yu Tianji’s forehead, and kissed it.

….

That day, a group of cultivators, as usual, flew out of Kunlun Immortal Mountain on their swords to gather immortal herbs.

Yu Tianji had secretly placed a small puppet among their belongings.

Of course, no one noticed.

After they left Kunlun Immortal Mountain, the small puppet disappeared.

“System, is anyone able to see me now?” Li Yuebai looked around warily.

“No, you are currently outside Kunlun Immortal Mountain; there is no one within a mile radius,” the system replied.

“Switch back to normal form. The puppet is too small and moves too slowly.”

“Yes.”

After a flash of white light, Li Yuebai finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The familiar height and familiar feeling were back.

Just to be safe, he tore a piece of white gauze from his clothes, covered his face, then drew his longsword and flew away.

Even when he was in puppet form, the longsword had always been hanging properly at his waist, only it had shrunk. Now that his body had returned to normal, the sword naturally returned to normal as well, and the same went for his clothes and personal belongings.

After flying towards Jiuli for a while, and based on the letters his disciples had sent earlier, Li Yuebai quickly found the two mischievous children— from above, he could see a stream, and the two were resting by the stream.

Only then did Li Yuebai relax and slowly landed on the stream.

Upon seeing him, the two were stunned.

“Master!” Xiao Ai was the first to recover from her stiff state, crying out joyfully as she rushed forward. “Master! I’ve been so worried about you all these days!”

“I’m relieved that you’re both alright,” Li Yuebai said with a smile.

“Master…” Jiang Shaoying was noticeably slower than Xiao Ai, and seeing that Xiao Ai had already taken the advantageous position, he could only scratch his head and lean forward to ask with concern, “Master, are you alright? Were you injured in the battle against the Demonic Sect? Did that good-for-nothing Tianji Jun disrespect you…?”

To be on the safe side, Li Yuebai hadn’t revealed much in his letter to the two of them, only saying that they had defeated the Demonic Sect. Therefore, the two of them were still unaware that Tianji Jun was actually a reliable person.

“You must not disrespect the Immortal Lord.” Li Yuebai smiled, his voice carrying no reproach. “This time, we were only able to defeat the Demonic Sect thanks to the Immortal Lord’s strenuous support.”

“Is that really so? Then I underestimated him.” Jiang Shaoying shrugged. “I originally thought neither of these brothers was any good…”

As the protagonist of this world, he was known for his carefree and unruly nature, and now that no one was around, he spoke even more recklessly.

“So, you have indeed discovered Tianliu Jun’s weakness?” Li Yuebai’s expression turned serious.

“It’s more than a weakness, it’s practically evidence of a crime!” Xiao Ai exclaimed indignantly. “When we return to Kunlun Immortal Mountain, I’m going to post this evidence for everyone to see!”

“What evidence?” Li Yuebai asked them to sit down and recount the story.

“Does Master still remember why Tianliu Jun went to Jiuli in the first place?” Xiao Ai asked quickly.

“I remember, because there were evil people causing trouble in Jiuli, and Tianliu Jun went to eliminate them.” Li Yuebai nodded.

The land of Jiuli was rich in immortal herbs. Although it was far from Kunlun, it was still subordinate to Kunlun. The chieftain of Jiuli was chosen from a collateral branch of the Kunlun Yu family for generations. The current chieftain was named Yu Feng, who was related to the brothers Yu Tianliu and Yu Tianji.

A few months ago, Yu Feng wrote to Kunlun for help, saying that a group of traitors had emerged in Jiuli, committing all kinds of evil deeds and trying to oust him as chieftain. After receiving the letter, Kunlun immediately sent Yu Tianliu to quell the rebellion.

“In fact, what we saw was not like that at all,” Xiao Ai said indignantly. “It was Yu Feng who embezzled immortal herbs, colluded with the Demonic Sect, committed all kinds of evil deeds, and even slandered those who opposed him as traitors…”

“And Yu Tianliu, for his own benefit, colluded with Yu Feng and arbitrarily slaughtered those who opposed Yu Feng.” Jiang Shaoying added, “Unfortunately, the two of us were outnumbered and powerless to stop it.”

“How many people did Yu Tianliu kill?” Li Yuebai’s expression turned solemn.

“At least several thousand…” Xiao Ai bit her lip.

“On what day?”

“The day of the final siege.”

“If that’s true, Yu Tianliu’s massacre of the Jiuli occurred during the battle between Kunlun and the Demonic Sect. At that time, Kunlun was too preoccupied to prevent the tragedy.” Li Yuebai sighed, “Fortunately, you two are safe and sound.”

“Thank you for instructing us not to approach beforehand, Master…” Xiao Ai bit her lip in lingering fear.

“However, after returning to Kunlun, this matter should not be publicized.” Li Yuebai instructed, “I will tell you when the time is right.”

“Yes.” The two understood the gravity of the matter and obediently nodded in agreement.

“Also, when you return to Kunlun, you will know— I am suffering from internal injuries and on the verge of death, currently recuperating in the Warm Snow Cave, and cannot come out to look for you.” Li Yuebai added.

“Huh? What do you mean?” The two were stunned.

“It’s getting late, let’s talk as we go.” Li Yuebai stood up, chanted an incantation, and took to the air on his sword.

The three figures streaked through the clouds, so fast that they were impossible to see clearly.

By the time Li Yuebai explained his feigned illness, they had already flown quite a distance.

“So Master is going to deal with that hypocrite Su Xu!” Jiang Shaoying suddenly realized, then noticed that the route was a bit off: “Master, have we gone astray? This isn’t the way back to Kunlun, is it?”

“Indeed not.” Li Yuebai smiled: “Let’s go to Juling first.”

Juling Immortal Mountain was the territory of the Wei family.

The old immortal master of the Wei family was still alive, but he was quite old. His eldest son, Wei Linguan, was the heir, and he was kind and benevolent. His third son, Wei Jingyao, however, was insidious, ruthless, and ambitious, secretly preparing to seize the position of immortal master.

Wei Jingyao had a daughter named Wei Qianqian. In the original story, she was the one whose marriage to Yu Tianliu was arranged by her father.

In the original storyline, she silently married Yu Tianliu, silently became the wife of the Immortal Lord of Kunlun, and silently watched Yu Tianliu later flirt with Lady Ji, never once erupting in anger.

She was merely a pawn; how could a pawn dare to defy fate?

This time, Li Yuebai wanted to see Wei Qianqian and see if there was any possibility of changing her future.

He had already asked the system and learned that Wei Qianqian and her father had a strained relationship.

Wei Jingyao had always doted on his sons, showing no pity for his daughter Wei Qianqian. From a very young age, he had only treated her as a pawn for political marriages, scheming every day about who she could marry to gain the most benefit.

Growing up in this environment, Wei Qianqian naturally sensed her father’s coldness and malice. She had always been unwilling to get close to him, and now that she was older, her resentment towards him had only intensified.

However, she was not outspoken and was still young, so she dared not leave Juling without permission, nor dared to openly defy her father. She only hoped that her good-natured grandfather and uncle would protect her.

“System,” Li Yuebai asked, “Is Wei Qianqian in Juling now?”

“Yes,” the system replied.

“Will we be able to meet her on our way?”

“She will leave the mountain gate tomorrow at Shenshi (3-5 PM). If we are lucky, we will be able to meet her.”

“Okay,” Li Yuebai nodded.

“If we fly any further, we might be seen. Should the host disguise his appearance?” the system prompted.

Li Yuebai chose the puppet form again.

Thus, Jiang Shaoying and Xiao Ai watched helplessly as their master transformed into a small cloth puppet in the air.

“What are you standing there for?” Li Yuebai coughed lightly, skilfully flying into Jiang Shaoying’s backpack and retrieving the similarly shrunken longsword, Fei Guang, from his waist: “Continue on your way.”

“Master… Master… Master?” Jiang Shaoying was so surprised that she stammered.

“Master…” Xiao Ai’s eyes widened, and it took her a while to speak: “How can Master be so cute after shrinking…”

Li Yuebai rubbed his forehead, feeling increasingly that his dignity as a master was in jeopardy.
