Jiang Lan, who had just joined up with the Dragon Palace reinforcements, suddenly turned his head and glanced to the west.

Seeing this, Bi’an asked, “What’s wrong?”

Jiang Lan shook his head: “I felt like there was Gonggong’s aura over there, but it disappeared quickly. I’m not sure if it was just my imagination.”

“We haven’t received any message from Tai Feng yet. Gonggong is likely still in the small world. I’ll send some people over to investigate first.” After giving the instructions, Bi Xi added, “Fourth Brother and I will stay here to continue searching for Seventh Brother and Gonggong. You and Ying Qiao will go out and meet up with Tai Feng first. We’ll ambush the rest of the Qian Sect members as planned. If we’ve searched the area and haven’t found Seventh Brother or the others, we’ll come out and meet up with you. Right now is a crucial moment in the Qian Sect’s plan. Since Gonggong isn’t in the small world, he will definitely go out and meet up with Tian Wu and the others.”

Upon arriving in Yunnan Province, Ying Qiao, the Dragon Palace, and the Jiangcheng Demon Management Bureau split into three groups to search for the entrance to the small world in the mountains of Yunnan. They failed to find the entrance, but inadvertently discovered traces of the Qian Sect.

Tian Wu, along with a small number of elite Qian faction members, hid in the mountains, seemingly preparing for some grand sacrificial ceremony.

Just then, they received a message from the Yunnan Provincial Bureau saying that Ying Qiao had found the entrance to the small world. Bi Xi and Tai Feng discussed that Bi Xi would lead the elites of the Demon Management Bureau to lie in ambush and keep watch nearby, while Bi’an would lead the people of the Dragon Palace back to work together with the people from the Yunnan Provincial Bureau to break open the passage to the small world.

Not long after entering, the Dragon Palace group encountered Jiang Lan and Ying Qiao, who were searching everywhere for Ya Zi’s whereabouts.

After meeting up with the other two, Bi’an exchanged information and immediately determined that the ceremony must be related to the Qian faction’s plan.

Although the details of Gonggong and the Qian faction’s plans were still uncertain, according to Ying Qiao, Geng Chen, who knew the situation, intervened halfway through, and Jiang Lan was now safe and sound, so Gonggong’s plans would most likely be thwarted. Now he must either be staying in the small world to look for an opportunity to strike again, or he would have already left and joined up with the Qian faction members to plan the next step.

They’ve now split into two groups, each keeping an eye on one end. That was a pretty safe approach.

After thinking it over, Jiang Lan also felt that this arrangement was the most appropriate, but he still instructed with some concern: “If you see Lao Qi, you must not chase after him. Try to trick him into coming over with food.”

Thinking back to the chase with Ya Zi, Jiang Lan really wanted to beat up his younger brother.

If it weren’t for Ya Zi being too bearish, leading him to the Red Maple Valley where Chi You was, thus luring Chi You out and causing turmoil in the small world, he might have already safely returned home with his younger brother, without having to make such a fuss.

Now, no one knew where Ya Zi had gone. His last memory was of losing his temper and yelling at Ya Zi to drive him away. Ying Qiao said that they saw Ya Zi sneaking around and following them not long after they came out of the illusion, but Jiang Lan searched all the caves he remembered being in and couldn’t find any trace of Ya Zi.

Moreover, Ya Zi didn’t know how long he had been in the small world. Even though he had lost his memory, his body instinctively knew the terrain of the small world very well.

He was very good at dodging.

The three brothers parted ways at the entrance to the small world. Jiang Lan and Ying Qiao left together to find Tai Feng and reunite, following the directions given by Bi Xi. Bi Xi and Bi’an remained in the small world to continue their search, communicating with each other through the Dragon Palace’s unique communication method to ensure timely reinforcements.

After the two went out, they met the people from the Yunnan Provincial Branch guarding the entrance, and then quickly headed to the gathering place of the Qian faction.

They had only gone halfway when they received a message from Tai Feng saying that Gonggong had appeared with the Nine Cauldrons, and judging from their posture, he was going to offer sacrifices to Heaven.

Jiang Lan was stunned when she heard this: “What is he going to use to sacrifice to the heavens?”

Gonggong went to great lengths to lure him to Yunnan Province and then tricked him into the small world. He thought he was very important, so why did Gonggong start before he even arrived?

Should this be the case?

Ying Qiao grasped the key point: “Nine Cauldrons is here too? Where’s Jiang Chi?”

Tai Feng was even more confused than him: “I didn’t see Jiang Chi, only Gonggong returning with the Nine Cauldrons.”

Just then, a shout of “Holy crap!” came from Tai Feng’s side, followed by a thunderclap. Tai Feng immediately forgot about communicating with them and hurriedly said, “The Qian Sect is serious this time. Come over quickly, we’ll hold them off first.”

The communication was cut off as soon as he finished speaking, and the last thing they heard was the rumble of thunder.

The sky above quickly darkened, and Jiang Lan looked in the direction of the sound, only to see lightning flashing and thunder rumbling in the east, yet hearing no sound. Clearly, a barrier was concealing this immense spectacle.

The two exchanged a glance, said nothing more, sent a message to the Dragon Palace, and then rushed eastward with all their might.

Eastward, Mount Menghu.

Gonggong stood in the center of the altar, while Tian Wu led his followers of the Qian sect to stand in eight directions, each with a crocodile drum in front of them. One of them beat the drum while the other chanted ancient tunes.

The sound of the alligator drums rose, like the long roar of a flying dragon.

In an instant, the sky became overcast, thunder rumbled through the gray clouds, and lightning flashed.

Gonggong removed the red robes that concealed his form, his snake tail coiled up, and with both hands he held the Nine Cauldrons high in the sky, letting out a sharp whistle as he loudly proclaimed: “The alligator drums sound, the clouds emerge, and the heavens and earth tremble in all directions!”

The eight drumbeats combined into one, striking heavily, shaking heaven and earth.

The red mist within the Nine Cauldrons surged, seemingly unwilling to accept the oppressive force of heaven and earth, and even let out an even more oppressive roar, as if it wanted to challenge it to a duel.

Gonggong’s eyes showed satisfaction. He released his grip on the Nine Cauldrons and said in a deep voice, “Go, ancient war god, let me see your true strength.”

The red mist within the Nine Cauldrons surged ceaselessly. The instant Gonggong released the seal, the red mist transformed into a colossal beast, charging towards the sky where dark clouds gathered and thunder roared.

Above the sky, the stray lightning bolts seemed to sense something, and actually condensed into a thick electric dragon, which opened its huge mouth and roared menacingly at the red mist.

The horned behemoth formed from the red mist showed no weakness whatsoever, charging straight forward to engage the electric dragon in battle.

Lightning flashed and thunder roared across the sky, the clouds sometimes gathering and sometimes dispersing, and the torrential rain poured down as if the sky had been torn open.

Tai Feng, who was leading his men to break through the barrier, stopped in shock upon seeing this and cursed, “That idiot Gonggong! He actually caused such a big mess! Truly, a scourge lives on for a thousand years!”

He looked around at the equally stunned members of the Demon Management Bureau and roared, “What are you still looking at! Take out your most treasured magical artifacts and break his barrier!”

The shocked crowd finally came to their senses and focused all their efforts on breaking through the barrier.

Gonggong noticed their movements, turned around and laughed loudly: “The outcome is already decided. When I reopen the road to heaven, you will have no choice but to bow down and submit.”

Tai Feng couldn’t help but grit his teeth and curse, “Idiot.”

While cursing, he also took the time to send a message to Ying Qiao, asking why the reinforcements hadn’t arrived yet.

The communication was cut off as soon as it was sent. Ying Qiao and Jiang Lan rushed over from a distance and shouted at them in a deep voice, “Get out of the way!”

Upon hearing the sound, the others quickly retreated, only to see Taotie and Yinglong arrive hand in hand, charging towards the barrier with undiminished momentum.

The ancient Yinglong and Taotie joined forces, and even the most powerful barrier would be broken in an instant.

The barrier set up by the Qian faction was broken in an instant. Gonggong looked at Jiang Lan, who was walking side by side with Ying Qiao, and his face suddenly darkened: “You’re not dead?”

As he spoke, he realized something and suddenly looked up at the Nine Cauldrons in mid-air and the red monster fighting with the electric dragon.

The red monster swallowed half of the electric dragon in one gulp, but the electric dragon was not weakened at all; on the contrary, it seemed to be enraged. It roared to the sky, and a sudden burst of white light appeared in the sky behind it, as if the sky was about to brighten.

Gonggong exclaimed “This is bad!” and with a flick of his snake tail, he fled into the distance, disregarding everything else.

Above, the giant beast formed from red mist quickly hid inside the cauldron. The nine cauldrons, which had been suspended in mid-air, landed with a dull thud before abruptly turning upside down.

Those unaware of the danger scattered to find places to hide. Ying Qiao instinctively protected Jiang Lan and instantly withdrew from the barrier’s range. At the same time, countless thick thunder dragons descended from the bright white sky, sweeping across the entire Menghu Mountain with overwhelming force.

No one had ever seen such a powerful thunderstorm; only the legendary divine lightning strike could compare.

That time, countless powerful demons who wanted to reopen the Path to Heaven were reduced to ashes and their souls scattered in the lightning punishment.

The thunderstorm lasted only a minute or two, but those minutes felt like an eternity. Menghu Mountain was almost completely leveled, leaving only scorched earth.

Tai Feng, covered in dust and dirt, crawled out of the pile of rubble and looked at the center of the altar: “Where’s that idiot Gonggong? Is he dead yet?”

He then pulled out the others and urged, “Can they still move? If they can, go and see if anyone is still alive. Those who can’t move, stay where you are and wait for reinforcements.”

He was directing his men to search for the remnants of the Qian faction’s army in the ruins when a thick snake tail swept towards him from behind. He narrowly dodged it, turned around, and saw Gonggong, who was still alive. He put his hands on his hips and felt like cursing.

Holy crap, it’s not even dead yet?

Is the will of Heaven any good?

Although Gonggong did not die, he was injured. The scales on his face and body were charred and peeled off, such that his skin and flesh were exposed, making him look extremely horrifying.

He stared grimly at Ying Qiao and Jiang Lan who had stepped forward: “You think that, given what happened before, I would be completely unprepared? You think you can use the power of Heavenly Tribulation to kill me? How naive!”

Jiang Lan’s gaze swept over his wounds, and she continued to rub salt into them with a grin: “But you still fell for the trap, didn’t you? And you don’t actually think it was our scheme, do you?”

He had a look on his face that said, “No way, no way, you don’t even know who plotted against you?”

Gonggong’s face twitched, his expression twisted as he said, “Who else could it be but you?! The mighty Taotie, how dare you do it but not admit it?”

Jiang Lan turned to Ying Qiao and said, “See? I told you he was a fool. He doesn’t even know who’s plotting against him. He’s so pathetic.”

Gonggong: …

F**k!!!
