When God looked at Luo Mi, his expression had returned to its previous indifference: “I don’t remember.”

Luo Mi paused for a moment.

He had imagined how evil and cunning the god who devised the plan to raise humans for ten thousand years must be. After guessing that Anos was also a remnant of a god and after meeting the god of the First Era, he felt that the essence of the god might not be so villainous… But now, after meeting a living god, Luo Mi never expected that the other party would be like this.

Don’t you remember?

Even though the god was speaking to him calmly, Luo Mi suddenly felt a chilling coldness, as if the person in front of him was just a monster wearing human skin. Although he could speak normally, he could not hide the strange and terrifying feeling.

Luo Mi couldn’t help but ask again, “You don’t remember anything you did? What about the apocalypse?”

God said indifferently, “Don’t you already know about the apocalypse? I need to absorb the power of the entire world, and for that, I need humans, as ‘seeds,’ to multiply in this world. When I absorb them, I can absorb this world as well.”

At this point, God revealed his second human expression— impatience.

“There’s no need to ask these pointless questions anymore. Have you erased your memories too?” God gazed at Luo Mi, his brows furrowing slightly. “It’s time for you to come back to me.”

Luo Mi was startled again.

His mind raced, and he immediately grasped the meaning of God’s words: God considered him to be of God’s Wisdom!

At that moment, Luo Mi also had doubts.

He was already suspicious of his inexplicable involvement in the infighting among the Anos, and the existence of the system kept him thinking about the God’s Wisdom… But he didn’t feel any sense of déjà vu about what the God’s Wisdom had done, unlike something he had done before but had amnesiac.

That explains why God’s attitude wasn’t aggressive…

Just as Luo Mi was pondering whether he could do something using God’s knowledge, God had already reached out to him.

Luo Mi was suddenly sent flying towards the god, his fragile neck landing right in the god’s palm.

God stroked Luo Mi’s nape and twitched his lips slightly: “It’s better this way.”

With the god gripping the back of his neck, Luo Mi felt as if his entire body was submerged in ice water. Fear and a sense of danger roared wildly in his mind, making him feel like an insect caught in a spider web, desperately trying to struggle away from the monster beside him.

God frowned slightly: “You shouldn’t be afraid of me.”

He reached out his other hand and stroked Luo Mi’s forehead.

Luo Mi’s pupils contracted slightly— although he didn’t know what God was planning, he instinctively felt it wasn’t a good thing!

Just then, Luo Mi’s vision blurred, and he found that the person next to him had turned into Anos.

Anos released Luo Mi’s hand, stroked Luo Mi’s hair, and his heterochromatic eyes were full of focus and tranquility.

God appeared where Anos had been.

He looked at his empty hands and narrowed his eyes slightly: “You stole my power.”

Anos raised his eyes to look at the god and said calmly, “The existence of the real dream is not just to confuse you, but also a massive sympathetic magic.”

A faint silver light shone from his chest.

Sympathetic magic was a type of magic created during the Fourth Age when divine arts and magic flourished. The general idea was to simulate a scene to set up a second scene, and then the influence applied to the second scene could be synchronized in the first scene.

Real dream was a simulation of the entire world, the grandest sympathetic magic in history— even now, real dream contained the entire human soul, more like reality than reality itself!

Without a doubt, in the real dream of the Ark, Anos embodied the authority and identity of a “god”.

When the God began to devour the real dreams, they became connected with the real dreams and clashed with Anos.

At first, the god naturally had the upper hand, but the more real dream the god devoured, the closer the connection with the real dream became, and the more he was suppressed by Anos!

This was a backup plan that the God’s Heart and the two Anos seriously discussed and that the real dream possessed.

They could not place all their hopes on God’s weakness.

Now, in the short time that God had completely devoured the real dream, Anos had gained a status and power equal to that of God!

This opportunity was destined to be short-lived, because God could solve this problem simply by separating himself from the real dream.

So Anos no longer hesitated and reached out his hand to the god.

God’s body trembled slightly, his arm paused involuntarily, and slowly began to strangle his own neck.

Dominate!

Meanwhile, near God, holy light surged in the pure white world, coalescing into strange weapons— these were conceptual weapons born from the fear of the apocalypse of the slumbering humans within the Ark!

God gazed at his other self, a slight smile playing on his lips.

Anos’s body, like a gear without lubrication, became sluggish.

The weapons disappeared and reappeared beside Anos; then, as if concealed by another force, they reappeared beside the god.

The pure white sky and ground began to churn, like a fully inflated balloon that could burst at any moment!

Luo Mi stood beside them and took a deep breath.

He was now a powerless human being and could not offer any help in the power struggle between the two.

Even without the angel’s vision, Luo Mi could still see the danger of their struggle!

More importantly, Anos’s advantage was slowly shrinking.

God was, after all, a god of the real world, while Anos was merely a god of the false world of the real dream.

More and more of those strange-looking weapons appeared around Anos. The god’s stiffness and sluggishness decreased with each passing moment, while Anos’s body trembled more violently, and blood began to flow from his eyes and ears.

They couldn’t wait any longer.

Luo Mi reached out and took the pure white holy light longsword from Anos’s hand.

Anos glanced at him, a hint of worry flashing in his heterochromatic eyes, but it quickly turned into certainty and trust.

Luo Mi gripped his longsword tightly and turned to face the god.

He was human, a race not ruled by gods.

In this space where concepts had been materialized, under Anos’s control, even insignificant humans could possess the power to harm gods!

God glanced at him calmly, then suddenly chuckled: “Really?”

Luo Mi didn’t care what he thought, and charged straight at the God’s Heart!

Just then, a long-unheard mechanical voice rang in his ears:

[Temporary Mission: Assassinate Anos.]

[The reward for successful completion of the mission is a complete Anos.]

[Mission failed, host eliminated.]

[Please execute this order immediately.]

Luo Mi was stunned.

The sound didn’t just appear in his mind; it echoed throughout the entire space.

Anos also heard the voice, and his pupils froze slightly.

Luo Mi looked up at the god in shock.

The god seemed much more alive than before. He smiled slightly and tapped his chest: “If I were to stab you here, I might not die, but you certainly will—”

He glanced in Anos’s direction. “Kill him, and you’ll definitely survive. What do you say?”

Anos was sustaining more and more wounds, clearly at a disadvantage, with little hope of turning the tide.

Luo Mi’s hand holding the longsword trembled slightly.

God glanced at him with pity and chuckled again. “In a little while, I will kill him, and your mission will still be considered a failure. What you want is for the souls of this world to be preserved so that I don’t have to devour the souls in your ark— thank this virtual world, since it’s sympathetic magic, I can also directly use this virtual world to devour the real world.”

But if the world is gone, where can the souls go?

Luo Mi gently bit his lip and glanced at Anos.

Anos’s eyes initially flashed with surprise, but he quickly calmed down and focused all his attention on the struggle for the authority of the God.

Clearly, he had found the only way to turn the situation around: as the connection between God and the real dream becomes increasingly close, he could try to suppress God!

Luo Mi’s expression shifted for a long time before he finally closed his eyes, slowly lowered the longsword in his hand, and walked back to Anos’s side.

He raised the sword tip again, the longsword still stained with the blood of the gods, pointing it at Anos’s heart.

Luo Mi raised his head, his eyes red-rimmed, his pupils almost shrinking to pinpoints, his emotions surging and complex, like the ocean in the dead of night.

Anos gazed at him quietly, his heterochromatic pupils as pure as the sky, revealing no emotion whatsoever— no surprise, no pain, no doubt, no bewilderment— as if he had entrusted everything to Luo Mi.

Life, destiny, and the world— all were placed in Luo Mi’s hands, to be decided by his single thought.

God smiled slightly, watching the dramatic scene unfold before him.

Luo Mi closed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and plunged the longsword in fiercely!

“Snap!”

The sound of bones and heart cracking was as faint as a mosquito’s murmur, yet as loud as thunder.

Anos fell backward.

Blood gushed from his chest, drawing irregular shapes beneath him.

Even so, Anos’s gaze remained pure and calm as he stared intently at Luo Mi, as if trying to imprint this scene completely in his mind.

His pupils began to dilate, and his vital signs began to disappear.

Luo Mi let go, staggered back two steps, gripped his clothes tightly with both hands, gritted his teeth, and let out a muffled sob. He seemed on the verge of collapse.

In the pure white space, all the strange phenomena and turbulence disappeared, as if one of two people in a struggle had suddenly died, and the other had completely won.

In the distant sky, the pure white space spread at an extremely rapid pace, soon completely annihilating this virtual world and enveloping them entirely in the pure white space.

God took two steps forward, came to Luo Mi’s side, gently patted Luo Mi’s shoulder, and smiled, “You did very well.”

Luo Mi’s body trembled slightly, and he buried his face in his knees.

At this moment, God could not read any clear emotions in Luo Mi’s heart, only chaos and collapse.

God didn’t take it seriously and comforted you based solely on his own judgment: “I will erase these memories from you, and you won’t suffer for long.”

He reached out and stroked Luo Mi’s forehead again.

Luo Mi dodged his hand and staggered to Anos’s side.

At that moment, Anos calmly breathed his last.

God frowned slightly, but didn’t argue with him. Just as he was about to say something, he suddenly felt a pain in his chest.

—Pain I haven’t felt for so long.

He looked down and saw a deep, penetrating wound in the location of his heart.

The wound seemed to have been there for a long time without being discovered, taking away almost all of his life force and turning him from a perfectly healthy state into a near-death state in the blink of an eye!

He didn’t even have time to treat himself.

—Who did this?

How did you do that?

God looked at Luo Mi blankly.

Luo Mi helped Anos sit up, staring at him with equal tension, as if trying to confirm some result.

God saw his own remnant soul, which should have been dead, cough as it sat up, with large patches of blood still remaining on its chest, but the wounds had disappeared without a trace.

His deep brown eyes shifted slightly, and in an instant he seemed to understand something.

His lips twitched slightly, and a strange and complex emotion flowed through his eyes, not towards the two people in front of him, but towards someone who was somewhere else.

He seemed to want to say something, but ultimately said nothing.

God just closed his eyes and fell backward.
