Visibility suddenly cleared, and the track reappeared.

“Is that… dead?”

“Dead… I guess.”

At that moment, the whale’s head twitched again. Everyone’s hearts jumped into their throats.

They thought the monster had come back to life, but instead, they saw only two lips slightly part, and a figure leaped out.

The person was covered in blood, even the Imperial First School badge was blurred.

Bai Yue unzipped his jacket and took off his blood-stained tracksuit. Underneath, he was wearing a simple t-shirt.

He walked to the runner lying on the ground and held out his hand: “Can you stand up?”

The man looked at Bai Yue’s outstretched hand, his face filled with undisguised astonishment.

He had thought the other man had gone mad, but it turned out he was the one who had gone mad? This person… really dealt with that monster?

And what exactly was that terrifying pressure he had just felt? Even now, he felt completely paralyzed, unable to move even a finger.

Offstage, the commentator was the first to react, exclaiming excitedly, “He killed the whale with his own hands?!”

The host hurriedly asked, “What kind of whale was it?”

The commentator said, “It was a ‘road-destroying monster’ set up by the organizers. It targets the fastest player and attacks. But I really didn’t expect anyone to be able to kill it, unless that person…”

He suddenly realized something and quickly flipped through the player information in his hand. When he spoke again, the microphone made a popping noise.

This was a serious dereliction of duty for a commentator, but he didn’t care at all.

“Of course he can do it! Because this person is the special recruit of Imperial First, the S+ level alpha— Bai Yue!”

As soon as he finished speaking, the camera on the main screen focused on Bai Yue.

Although his blood-stained jacket had been removed, there were still some bloodstains on his hair.

As if sensing the camera approaching, he seemed to know something, and his light gray pupils turned around.

The audience went even crazier.

If the first time they were so excited was only because of the other person’s beautiful appearance; then at this moment, it was because of the monster that had fallen behind him!

At this moment, everyone finally digested this miraculous fact and let out a stunning scream.

“Ahhhhhh!”

“Is this the strength of an S+ level? Waaaaah, thank you Mom for letting me be born, for letting me see today’s match.”

“Imperial First is awesome! Bai Yue is awesome!”

The fan club members were incredibly excited, waving their light sticks vigorously: “Bai Yue! Bai Yue!”

They were speechless at this point, only able to shout the other’s names.

Even Anqi, who had been disdainful until just now, was now in shock. Especially the fan club members, they looked at each other, all seeing the same thing in each other’s eyes.

…The more people you have on the sidelines, the better.

At the same time, in Dark Flag’s dressing room.

Unlike the audience’s enthusiasm, the temperature inside had dropped to freezing.

Everyone fell silent.

Because their goal was not to advance to the qualifiers, but to win the championship. But judging from Imperial First’s performance, this year would probably be very difficult.

Everyone turned around at the same time, their gazes falling on the player they had the highest hopes for.

The other person’s previously bored expression had also subtly changed.

“Si…”

Someone tried to speak, but before they could finish, the person jumped off the sofa and headed for the door.

“Where are you going?”

“Hmm.” Sikong Xing thought for a moment, then turned back and smiled, “To chat up people.”

“Bai Yue! Ahhh!”

It was supposed to be a competition between 38 schools, but at this moment, only one name could be heard.

After dealing with the most troublesome monster, Bai Yue continued forward. As the wind subsided, the track became clearly visible. Before long, he successfully reached the finish line.

As soon as he came out of the virtual training field, he heard a deafening chorus of shouts.

“Bai Yue! Bai Yue! Bai Yue!”

He stopped in his tracks as soon as he came out because of the enthusiastic shouts.

Looking up, he found his own image reflected on the main screen. He looked at the camera and blinked.

At this moment, he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw Shang Yufei.

The other person stood a few meters away, looking at him from afar.

Bai Yue was about to go over when he suddenly stopped. He looked down at his clothes.

The bloodstains from the virtual training field had vanished. Even so, the method used to deal with the whale was indeed too reckless; would Shang Yufei be angry about it?

Bai Yue hesitated, standing still.

Seeing him motionless, Shang Yufei raised an eyebrow and walked over.

They were now only a meter apart. He looked down at Bai Yue, a smirk playing on his lips: “Well done.”

“!”

This seemed to be the first time in his memory that Shang Yufei had personally acknowledged him.

Bai Yue’s mood suddenly brightened, and he took another step forward, about to speak, when a dark figure tackled him.

It was one of the senior students from the previous rounds.

“Bai Yue, you’re amazing!”

Other senior students who had come with him excitedly hugged him.

In the preliminary rounds, whether Imperial First advanced successfully or in the shortest time was no longer in doubt. But Bai Yue’s act of personally killing the monster was undoubtedly the biggest bombshell.

Now, all the military academies, including Dark Flag, had their brilliance overshadowed.

Shang Yufei’s forehead veins bulged as he watched the group surround Bai Yue.

He had originally intended to hug him too, but he held back because of their previous agreement. These people were so shameless.

He pushed aside the outermost group, grabbed Bai Yue’s hand, and pulled him out.

He said unhappily, “Are you trying to suffocate him?”

The senior students exchanged glances, then put their hands on their hips and said, “Come on, cheer up. Everyone did a great job.”

Shang Yufei: “Huh? Are you the captain? What are you doing giving a summary speech?”

“You brat!”

Perhaps because the competition was going smoothly, this person had forgotten his earlier fear of Shang Yufei. He put his left arm around Shang Yufei and his right arm around Bai Yue, pushing them closer together.

“I have a feeling that with the two of you here, winning the championship is definitely not a problem!”

The two were suddenly very close. Bai Yue’s forehead almost touched Shang Yufei’s nose.

Light gray eyes met emerald green pupils. Bai Yue smiled and said, “Keep it up.”

Shang Yufei pursed his lips and pushed away the senior who was holding him, saying, “Don’t touch me.”

Then he turned and walked off the field.

Bai Yue watched his back. Halfway there, the other man suddenly stopped and turned to look at him, saying, “What are you standing there for? Come here.” Bai Yue smiled and followed him.

Back in the rest room, the contestants underwent another round of “baptism.”

Counselor Song smiled and said, “You did well. Go and rest first.”

Bai Yue nodded and glanced around the room. “Where’s Mu Sihan?”

Although he was also a contestant, he hadn’t been seen since earlier. He thought he had returned to the rest room early, but he wasn’t here either.

…And Big Beard and Xu Chengdong weren’t here either.

The three of them were all members of the disciplinary team, but it wasn’t their patrol time yet. What happened?

Bai Yue walked out of the rest room, wanting to contact the three of them. Before he could even dial, he received a call from the deputy captain of the disciplinary team.

A serious and cold voice came from the other end.

“The Masked Organization has made their move; they’ve come to this address.”

After a brief exchange, the call ended abruptly.

Bai Yue received the deputy captain’s location. Just as he was about to act, he saw Shang Yufei following him out.

Shang Yufei’s emerald eyes were fixed on him as he asked, “Where are you going?”

“It’s about the disciplinary team,” Bai Yue replied. “I don’t know the details yet, I’m going to the scene now.”

He paused. “It’s the Masked Organization.”

Shang Yufei: “…”

Bai Yue: “It’s okay, I’ll be right back.”

He turned to leave, but was stopped by someone behind him.

“Wait.”

Shang Yufei walked over. “I’ll come with you.”
