The Azure Dragon was going to hold a rehearsal, and the leaders and some Taoist priests decided to stay and watch. Wei Xi had never been interested in it before, and now that it was a protected animal that couldn’t be eaten, his last bit of patience was worn away.

A number of tourists who had been urgently evacuated lingered at the zoo entrance. They had been halfway through their visit and were suddenly brought out, leaving them completely bewildered. They gathered around the zoo entrance, asking, “What happened? What is going on inside? We haven’t even finished our visit yet, why are we being made to leave?”

Moreover, the evacuation was far too frightening. Not only were there a large group of heavily armed troops surrounding the park, ready to go, but several tanks had also been deployed. These sheltered children, raised in peacetime, had never seen anything like it. While filled with fear and trepidation, they couldn’t help but feel a surge of intense curiosity.

However, the soldiers in charge of the evacuation remained tight-lipped about the reason for the evacuation. They kept quiet until they received a phone call from inside the park announcing the withdrawal. Only then did they breathe a sigh of relief and tell the people who asked, “It’s alright. We suspected that a few illegal elements had infiltrated the park, but the danger has been eliminated. If you want to continue visiting, you can re-enter the park without buying tickets.”

After saying that, he left as swiftly and silently as he had come.

The tracks rumbled as they glided across the road, leaving the visitors at the park entrance dumbfounded— a few illegal elements?

What kind of criminals would resort to such terrifying weapons to make arrests? One shot would probably blast a person into dust.

The tourists looked bewildered, completely baffled.

“This is so bizarre. Did they come to bombard Godzilla?”

“Or has some prehistoric monster appeared?”

“Never mind, now that the danger has been eliminated, let’s go back to the aquarium to see the water snake. I haven’t even had a chance to take a picture yet.”

….

Wei Xi looked at the strangely shaped vehicles with some confusion. Although he had no idea what they were, he instinctively felt that the equipment hanging on the departing people must be something that was not easy to deal with.

Tuan Tuanyi was also a little frightened. Looking at the departing tanks, he whispered and guessed, “Holy crap, could those be sent to deal with the Azure Dragon?”

Wei Xi frowned slightly, his mind starting to scramble: “Azure Dragon? Isn’t it their faith and totem?”

“That’s what makes humanity so complex and powerful. That’s why they are weak, yet they can become the final choice of Heaven.” Shuo Zong’s voice came from behind. Wei Xi turned around and met the other’s complex and deep eyes. “You won’t understand, and you shouldn’t try to understand.”

Wei Xi was increasingly puzzled, so he simply put the matter out of his mind. He was very loyal and righteous, and after the initial shock, he quickly returned to normal and prepared to take a taxi home.

Unfortunately, there weren’t many empty taxis around at this time, and with a large number of tourists being evacuated from the park earlier, even ride-hailing apps were in extremely short supply.

With a pained expression, Tuan Tuanyi said to his master, “It’s rush hour, damn it, Master. We might have to squeeze onto the Beijing subway to go back again.”

Wei Xi, who was fearless, felt a chill run down his spine upon hearing these words. The impression left on him by the last team-building activity on the Beijing subway was simply too profound.

The master and apprentice were immediately gripped by panic over rush hour traffic. Just then, a discreet black car slowly glided by and stopped a few steps away from them. They instinctively looked up and saw that the driver had quickly gotten out of the car and opened the back door for Shuo Zong and the others.

Tuan Tuanyi sobbed, “No wonder he can be a national heartthrob, such a rich and handsome man. Master, look at him, a true winner in life.”

Wei Xi’s gaze swept across the area, and many people around noticed the commotion, whispering and casting glances. Seeing this, Xia Shouren couldn’t help but break into a domineering CEO smile, straightening his back and casually saying to Chong Ming beside him, “Chong Ming, do you know what it’s like to hang out with a super rich guy?”

Chong Ming: “Huh?”

Xia Shouren smiled calmly, “It means that during rush hour, you can sit in your buddy’s car and laugh as your arrogant rivals who are trying to bite off your tail can’t get a ride.”

Chong Ming: “…………”

Thinking of the past, Xia Shouren felt tears welling up in his eyes. He couldn’t help but show a relieved expression and tried to get into the car, but Shuo Zong stopped him. Shuo Zong bent down and asked inexplicably, “What are you doing?”

Shuo Zong ignored him, stopped him with one hand, and calmly looked at Wei Xi: “What are you doing standing there?”

Wei Xi: “?”

Xia Shouren: “?”

Shuo Zong waited a moment, then clicked his tongue and said, “Come here.”

Tuan Tuanyi was shocked: “Holy crap, Master, we’ve met some kind people today!”

He hurriedly led Wei Xi forward: “Thank you so much for helping me in this emergency, great hero. My former lover was right to have chosen you.”

Shuo Zong: “…”

Tuan Tuanyi helped his master into the car and tried to climb up as well, but a strong hand grabbed his coat collar and pulled him backward.

Despite his large size, he was completely powerless against the move. Confused, he staggered back a few steps, watching helplessly as the winner in life in front of him didn’t even glance at him, naturally got into the car and sat next to his master, then cleanly and neatly closed the car door: “Let’s go.”

Tuan Tuanyi: “…So what about me?”

Xia Shouren: “…What about me?”

Chong Ming: “…and me.”

Shuo Zong turned and glanced at the three of them, not very interested: “There are too many of you to sit down. You can take a taxi from behind.”

As soon as the words were spoken, the black car drove away without a second thought, leaving behind a trail of mocking exhaust fumes and a bit of dust.

Chong Ming stared at the rear of the car and muttered, “Mr. Xia, do you know that the arrogant rival who bit your tail just drove off in your super-rich buddy’s car?”

Xia Shouren: “…”

Chong Ming: “But if we stay here, we can’t get a taxi.”

Xia Shouren: “…”

Tuan Tuanyi squatted down sadly on the ground amidst Xia Shouren’s silence: “What terrible taste my ex had!”
