The tone of God’s Heart became more relaxed: “Although God destroyed the Fifth Era a long time ago, the interior of the Ark was basically completed. Over the years, as the system of the Ark, I have adjusted the environment inside the Ark to be suitable.”

He snapped his fingers lightly, and the surrounding phantom images changed again, revealing the appearance of a high-tech city. The ground and high-rise buildings were all made of materials that shimmered with different electronic lights. There were rooms in the high-rise buildings, and many capsules that looked like life pods were neatly arranged in the rooms.

The God’s Heart explained, “The interior of the Ark is essentially virtual; it’s presented in an image format that’s easy for you to understand.”

Luo Mi stared blankly at one of the rooms, looking at the two life pods in the center.

Two children lay peacefully asleep in the two life pods.

John and Lina!

In an instant, Luo Mi understood something: “Those killed by your power will enter the Ark?”

The God’s Heart nodded: “The souls of the chosen ones can also establish connections with those related to them, and after gradually solidifying these connections, they can be drawn in as well.”

This sounded like a reverse use of the concept of the Chosen Ones… Luo Mi’s eyes lit up.

He quickly understood the significance of this ark: to shelter a vast number of humans through the apocalypse, the ark had to be built to an enormous size, making it impossible to escape the watchful eyes of God and making it even more difficult to resist the erosion of the apocalypse; but what if it only sheltered souls?

Instead of a cumbersome body, store only the soul inside the ark. After the apocalypse, use divine magic or other spells to create a new body!

Luo Mi remembered that the Church’s introduction to the alchemy school mentioned that alchemy was quite mature in terms of the synthesis and modification of the body, but there was basically no progress in the soul— even ordinary alchemists could do it, so the God’s Heart, being an angel, could naturally do it as well.

In that case, to protect everyone from the apocalypse, it would mean moving everyone from reality into the ark… What a massive migration!

Luo Mi even had more ideas: after surviving the apocalypse, perhaps the virtual world inside the Ark would become humanity’s second home, and maybe many people would prefer to live in the virtual but safe world of the Ark…

It was like something out of The Matrix… Luo Mi’s mind raced, and finally he sighed, “Did you kill all those missing Chosen Ones?”

The God’s Heart glanced at Anos: “I asked him to do it.”

Anos gave a soft hum but did not reply.

Luo Mi organized his thoughts: “The god of this era wants to devour all of humanity, which means that the chosen ones he selects must cover everyone. As long as you kill all the chosen ones, you can ensure that all of humanity is brought into the Ark?”

The God’s Heart nodded: “That’s right— this is also what I asked you to do after I’ve cleaned up God’s brainwashing of you.”

To find all the chosen ones most efficiently and accurately, the Pope is undoubtedly the best candidate.

Luo Mi scratched his head: “If that’s the case, I wouldn’t mind helping… but God won’t just sit idly by, will he?”

The God’s Heart smiled: “As I said before, with the end of the era, the power of God is also constantly weakening. By now, God should have fallen into slumber, waiting for the final day to come. At this time, our only obstacles are some arrangements left by God before He fell asleep, which is much safer than before.”

Anos said, “The position of God’s Wisdom must also be considered.”

If the God’s Wisdom were the system, it would have already taken action to hinder them. At least for now, it seems to be an ally… However, we can’t completely let our guard down… Luo Mi recalled the pleasant times he spent with the system and was very unwilling to oppose it, so he could only sigh slightly in his heart.

He called out to the system a few more times as usual, but still received no response. He had no idea where the system had gone.

Luo Mi remembered the tasks the system had assigned him:

The main quest lured Anos into corruption, binding him to Anos and drawing him into the war to survive the apocalypse.

The Charming the Bishop’s mission granted him three physical upgrades, transferred the power of the god that had once bound Anos to him, released Anos’s soul, and allowed him to gain angelic power without being affected by the god.

The quest to find the Chosen Ones had now been revealed to be the most efficient way to relocate the souls of all humanity to the Ark.

Thinking about it this way, the system was completely on their side!

Luo Mi felt a surge of excitement, but also felt puzzled: If that was the case, why didn’t the system just tell him directly? Was he previously under the surveillance of God?

So what about now? Now that God is asleep, why has the system disappeared as well?

Luo Mi’s heart suddenly sank: Could it be that the system had actually been discovered by the God and…

He pressed his chest and reassured himself: No, if the system had died, he won’t be able to use the system’s storage space anymore.

Thinking this, Luo Mi felt an urge to return to the Holy City immediately: “Then I will return to the Holy City right away and mobilize the Holy See to search for all the Chosen Ones.”

“No need to rush, the list of chosen ones is in the Book of the Lamb.” The God’s Heart smiled. “You have to wait here for a few days. I need to make some adjustments to the permissions of the Ark.”

Luo Mi inwardly scolded himself, “Haste makes waste,” and nodded, “Okay.”

The God’s Heart gazed tenderly at Luo Mi with its silvery-white eyes, its smile deepening: “Besides, it’s rare for you to come to my side, so take this opportunity to spend more time with me.”

Luo Mi was stunned for a moment.

Anos’s heterochromatic eyes flashed with alertness, and he stepped forward, blocking Luo Mi’s path.

The God’s Heart seemed oblivious to Anos’s actions, and simply smiled at Luo Mi, explaining, “Though my soul is shattered, my feelings for you remain the same. Before today, I watched you from afar, witnessing your entanglements and separations with them, but I could only watch. Although I have no physical form, I am still very happy that you can be closer to me.”
