“Nannan, you’ve just recovered, why did you run out without wearing more clothes?”

Qin Baishi was the first to rush to Yun Zheng, her old face scrunched up. She carefully examined Yun Zheng, then touched her forehead to make sure her precious granddaughter had no fever or injury, before saying with heartache.

Qin Zhihua said nothing, just taking a windproof scarf from her basket and wrapping it around Yun Zheng’s neck.

“Fifth Sister, how are you? Did the Cheng family bully you?”

Yun Zheng’s three brothers also gathered around, asking about her well-being. They were all very protective of their youngest sister, afraid she might suffer even a little.

Qin Gang and Qin Heshi couldn’t squeeze in, so they could only look at Yun Zheng anxiously.

Yun Zheng felt a warmth in her heart.

“Grandma, Mom, Uncle and Aunt, Big Brother, Second Brother, Fourth Brother, I’m fine.”

Although they already knew that Yun Zheng was the Qin family’s darling, everyone couldn’t help but mutter to themselves, “Just a girl? Why are they so worried?”

Cheng Linshi rolled her eyes.

“How dare we bully this brat? It’s good that you Qin family members are here. See what’s going on in my house? It’s all because of that brat Qin Yunzheng. If you don’t give me an explanation today, I’ll fight you to the death!”

“Old hag Cheng, are you out of your mind? If you call my ‘Nannan’ again, I’ll make your mouth rot!”

Qin Baishi was just as fierce as Cheng Linshi. Her husband died early, and she was the one who initially supported the Qin family. Without her having some ability, the Qin family wouldn’t have been able to prosper in those impoverished times.

Cheng Linshi retorted, “She’s a brat to begin with. How did your Qin family raise her? You raised my perfectly good granddaughter to be so rebellious, beating my Fugui so badly that he can’t even stand up now. I don’t know if he’s alright. You have to pay compensation, and you have to give me your house!”

“Stop your nonsense and slander! How could my Nannan beat Cheng Fugui? He’s as fat as a pig. How could my Nannan possibly beat him?” Qin Baishi sneered.

Cheng Linshi choked for a moment, then looked directly at Li Shan, “Village Chief, the Qin family is shameless and refuses to admit their wrongdoing. You can’t listen to them. My Fugui can’t be beaten for nothing. If he hadn’t been beaten, would he be in so much pain that he can’t even stand up now?”

Both sides had their own version of events, and not only did the villagers not know which side to take, but Li Shan was also caught in a dilemma.

Yun Zheng then spoke up, “Village Chief, I suspect Cheng Fugui is faking it. Why don’t we get the barefoot doctor to check if he’s actually injured?”

Cheng Fugui’s joints were already aching, and upon hearing this, he eagerly replied, “Yes, yes, Grandma, hurry and get the barefoot doctor to take a look!”

Coincidentally, the barefoot doctor was also watching the commotion. So he immediately went over and examined Cheng Fugui, quickly saying, “Grandma Cheng, your grandson Cheng Fugui is perfectly fine, full of energy.”

“You’re talking nonsense!” Cheng Linshi jumped up.

“Do you even know how to diagnose? My Fugui is in so much pain he can’t even stand up, how could he be perfectly fine?”

“I’m not talking nonsense. As for why Cheng Fugui can’t stand up, you should ask him yourself.”

The barefoot doctor’s words completely swayed the villagers to the Qin family’s side.

“So Cheng Fugui was faking it all! Shameless! Isn’t this just a staged accident?”

Li Shan was also furious.

“Old hag Cheng, are you trying to fool me?”

“No, village chief, I swear to God, how could I dare to fool you!”

Cheng Linshi cursed Yun Zheng in her heart. She didn’t know what that brat had done. How could such a strange thing happen which was even hard for the barefoot doctor to figure out? It was like she had encountered a ghost!

“Alright, you insist it was Zheng’er who did it, but you can’t produce any evidence. How can I uphold justice for you? Do you think I have a lot of free time as village chief?”

Li Shan sneered, turning to Yun Zheng, his tone softening.

“Zheng’er, why don’t you tell me what you want from me?”

“Village chief, I had my third sister invite you here so you can be our witness. Cheng Xuening and her mother have cheated me out of a lot of food and grain coupons over the years, and they’ve even taken three acres of my land. I want them to return it to its rightful owner!”

Upon hearing this, the Qin family was stunned. They hadn’t misheard, had they? Zheng’er was actually going to demand the Qin family’s things back from the Cheng family?

So what she meant by “thinking things through” wasn’t just talk.
