The person who seemed to be walking towards him stopped in his tracks. The apprentice on the other end of the phone suddenly fell silent. Wei Xi realized what was happening and turned his gaze away from the annoying guy: “Que’er? Que’er?”

After a long pause, he heard his apprentice’s reply: “…I’m here. What did that person do to you?”

Wei Xi was much gentler with his apprentice, explaining in detail: “An old rival who ruined my plans and smuggled out my food supplies. Last time I went to a banquet with Tianyi and Wanrong, the pastries I brought for you were almost snatched away and eaten by this person. I fought him to the death to save them and bring them to you.”

The apprentice hesitated, not out of gratitude, but as if deep in thought: “…Is there?”

Wei Xi snorted coldly: “You weren’t by my side at the time, so it’s no wonder you didn’t know.”

Apprentice:”……”

Wei Xi heard him silent, thought for a moment, and assumed he was worried about him, so he changed his tone: “Don’t worry, Que’er, even if a fight breaks out this time, Master won’t suffer any losses.”

“…” The disciple remained silent for a long time before finally saying in a deep voice, “…Do you really hate him that much?”

Wei Xi thought about all the grudges he had against this man since he came down the mountain, and nodded without hesitation: “Of course. Ever since he kidnapped dozens of my vengeful ghosts in Fengyang Town, the enmity between us has been irreconcilable.”

The apprentice’s voice grew increasingly hoarse: “…Just because of this?”

Wei Xi: “Isn’t that enough?”

Eating and drinking were the most important things in his life. The vengeful ghost that had come to his lips was a blood feud.

The apprentice on the other end of the phone must have thought of this as well, he let out a long sigh, sounding very tired: “Wei Xi, don’t you think he has some strengths too? For example…”

After a while, her tone became slightly embarrassed: “…for example, having abundant yang energy.”

The yang energy was quite strong, but Wei Xi answered almost instinctively without much thought: “But I already have you.”

He paused, realizing his answer was a bit off-topic. His gaze fell on several other figures in the park, and recognizing something, he added, “Besides, what kind of strength is that? His friends aren’t exactly weak in yang energy either, but they’re much kinder. For example, there’s a Mr. Xia who’s very generous; he’s given me a lot of food.”

After the banquet, Xia Shouren led his men to deliver pastries from the kitchen to him, which gave him a very good impression of Xia Shouren. However, strangely, he didn’t have much of an appetite for Xia Shouren’s relatively mild yang energy. Before he could tell his apprentice this, Mr. Gu’s voice came from beside him: “Master Wei? Master Wei?”

Wei Xi turned around and realized that everyone was waiting for him. His apprentice on the other end of the phone fell into a mysterious silence again after he finished speaking. Wei Xi was puzzled and didn’t have time to say more, so he hurriedly left a message: “Que’er, I have something to do. Let’s talk later.”

Then he hung up the phone.

….

“Mr. Xia, you were right.” Chong Ming noticed something and nudged Xia Shouren. “Mr. Shuo Zong does look very unhappy.”

Xia Shouren had been busy deleting photos after his sarcastic remarks, but when he looked back, he was stunned. The aura around his friend was clearly even more gloomy than before. It wasn’t just unhappiness; it was as if he had been provoked by someone.

Xia Shouren was puzzled, but following his friend’s gaze, he quickly realized something: “How could it be him?!”

Chong Ming: “Who?”

“Do you remember the ferocious beast I told you about? The one that Shuo Zong has been keeping a close eye on ever since the world came to light.” Xia Shouren’s expression was solemn. “How did it end up here? No wonder Shuo Zong is in a bad mood.”

Chong Ming seemed to understand but not quite: “So Mr. Shuo Zong was angry because he was angry? I saw him glance at you when he hung up the phone just now, and I thought you had made him angry again.”

Xia Shouren clicked his tongue and led Chong Ming to comfort his brother: “How could that be? We are the only remaining auspicious beasts in the world. We have depended on each other since the collapse of the Heavenly Dao. We are also of the same kind, so our bond is incredibly strong. Don’t be fooled by his constant nagging and acting like an old beast. He actually cherishes having such a generous friend like me.”

After saying that, a smile appeared on his face, and he was about to greet the other party.

Then Shuo Zong, his face dark, turned to him first: “Xia Shouren, I advise you to stay away from me now.”

Xia Shouren: “?”

Chong Ming: “?”

With tears in his eyes, Xia Shouren asked, “What did I do wrong this time?”

“You’re being too generous,” Shuo Zong said in a chilling tone. “If you get too close to me, I’m afraid I might not be able to resist strangling you.”

Xia Shouren: “…”

Chong Ming: “…”

….

Chong Ming: “We depend on each other for life…”

Chong Ming: “Emotions are strong…”

Chong Ming: “I don’t know how much we cherish it…”

Chong Ming: “Mr. Xia, Mr. Shuo Zong is really angry with you.”

Xia Shouren also discovered it, but he had no idea what he had done wrong. He could only wipe away his tears as he went back to delete the photos: “Fake! All fake! We never depended on each other for survival. He really is still that old beast!”

Mr. Gu had already arranged the filming locations for the crew and was swaying in the rain against the howling wind that was almost tearing his umbrella apart. At this moment, he also keenly recognized the group of people who had been hanging around in Ruhai Park and shouted in surprise, “Mr. Shuo Zong?! Mr. Xia?! What are you doing here too?!”

Mr. Gu ran very fast, and the two sides got closer and closer. In Wei Xi’s line of sight, the tall man wearing a black raincoat slowly put the phone back into his pocket, and at the same time glanced at him with a complicated and inscrutable look: “Came over to deal with some things.”

His gaze was deep, water droplets still clung to his eyelashes, and his voice was low, penetrating the noisy rain to reach Wei Xi’s ears, making Wei Xi feel inexplicably familiar with him. However, they had fought so many times that they were not strangers, and with Wei Xi’s limited brain capacity, he naturally couldn’t think any deeper.

Mr. Gu was not surprised at all after receiving the answer, and introduced him to Wei Xi: “Master Wei, this is Mr. Shuo Zong, who used to be an advisor for our program.”

Tuan Tuanyi exclaimed in disbelief, “Holy crap! A national entrepreneur featured in a financial magazine is an advisor to ‘Believe in Science ‘?” This gave him a bizarre feeling of a dimensional barrier breaking down: “Really? Mr. Shuo Zong is actually…?”

Mr. Gu glanced at the meteorological bureau staff member who had become dumbfounded upon seeing the legendary tycoon, and subtly explained, “Mr. Shuo Zong has a group of talented and extraordinary people around him.”

Aside from him, the other Taoist priests clearly knew something as well, and none of them showed any surprise. The Taoist priest from the Taoist Association even greeted him quite familiarly: “Mr. Shuo Zong, how have you been? Is everything alright here?”

When Tuan Tuanyi saw that the handsome, rich, and powerful man who had been staring intently at his master had finally turned his gaze away, he glanced indifferently at a corner and said, “A few uninvited guests came, but they’ve been dealt with.”

The young man from the meteorological bureau looked at him, puzzled. His eyes widened immediately, and he threw down his umbrella and ran to the corner. He pushed aside Xia Shouren and Chong Ming, who were squatting there wiping away tears and chatting, and grabbed the unconscious people in the mud, shaking them frantically: “Wake up! Wake up!”

At the same time, he suddenly remembered what he had just heard, and looked up at the crowd in surprise: “Why can’t we wake him up? Did you do this?! What happened?!”

Those online celebrities who had been secretly photographing were practically soaked in water, yet no one at the scene showed any concern for them. The successful entrepreneur, who was passionate about charity, didn’t even flinch when questioned: “Who’s this?”

“He’s from the meteorological bureau,” Mr. Gu explained awkwardly. “He doesn’t really know the rules, so don’t take it personally.”

The young man was dumbfounded. What did they mean by not knowing the rules? Someone had already fainted in the park, it was a matter of life and death, and these people were acting completely indifferent!

Mr. Gu then brushed him off, saying, “Don’t worry, it’s probably just that the weather is too cold and they fainted due to low blood sugar. If you’re worried about them catching a cold, just move them to a dry place.”

The young man was still bewildered by his nonchalant tone when suddenly a huge wave roared from the sea viewpoint ahead, immediately drawing the attention of the group who had been indifferent to the unconscious internet celebrity.

….

The wind and rain grew stronger.

Master Quan gazed anxiously at the estuary, and asked in a questioning tone, “Master Shuo Zong, in your opinion, what about this matter…”

Shuo Zong’s expression was indifferent. His gaze seemed to sweep over someone in his group, and his voice sounded displeased: “Zou Jiao is just staying here, trying to transform into a dragon and enter the sea. We will stop it from entering the sea. You shouldn’t have come all this way.”

“Transform! Transform into a dragon!”

He spoke casually, but the many Taoist priests present, including Mr. Gu, almost knelt down: “Is it really a dragon?!”

Shuo Zong seemed uninterested in talking to people, and remained silent with a sullen face. Wei Xi ignored him as well, stepped out of the crowd and walked towards Xia Shouren, who was standing at the edge of the observation deck. He peered over the railing at the rushing Yellow River and asked, “Is that dragon down there?”

Xia Shouren seemed somewhat flustered when he approached and spoke, but he quickly recovered and tried to answer.

But before he could speak, his friend, who was usually reluctant to speak, suddenly said, “It’s underwater. It can only enter the sea after it successfully transforms into a dragon.”

Wei Xi glanced back and saw that Shuo Zong had approached at some point. His gaze lingered between Wei Xi and Xia Shouren for a moment before he stood between them with a blank expression.

Xia Shouren, who received a picture of the back of a head: “???”

Wei Xi wasn’t in the mood to fight him at the moment, and nodded: “Can’t we let it go into the sea?”

Other Taoist priests could answer this question, and someone immediately spoke up: “Ancient books record that when a true dragon enters the sea, it usually stirs up huge waves, and at the same time triggers strong storms and tsunamis. As for how big they are, it is impossible to estimate. There are so many people in the city that have entered the sea… It is too late to evacuate them now. Once it successfully enters the sea, the consequences will be unimaginable. Heavy casualties will be the least of our worries.”

At this moment, everyone finally realized where the strong typhoon that suddenly appeared on the sea came from.

However, while they understood, the Taoist priests present still found it hard to accept: “We just never imagined… that dragons really exist in this world…”

Shuo Zong seemed unimpressed by the awe in their tone: “Is it strange? Like Xuanwu, dragons have always existed. There used to be many in the East Sea, but they just disappeared later.”

The Taoist priests, disregarding his attitude, were all somewhat incredulous: “Like Xuanwu…? Was he sealed away too?”

Shuo Zong shook his head: “They’re all dead. This one probably awakened on its own through cultivation.”

So, does that mean this is the only dragon in the world?!
