After the inauguration ceremony, the students dispersed, and the newly elected student council members all stepped down from the stage.

Ji Wenfeng, in the crowd, discreetly grabbed Lu Rong’s hand and pulled him against the flow of people to a secluded corner behind the stage.

“What are you doing?” Lu Rong tried to pull his hand away.

Ji Wenfeng didn’t speak, but slammed him against a tree, then took his breath away.

From a raging storm to tender intimacy.

Ignoring rejection and struggle.

It continued until the recipient could no longer endure it.

After being starved for two or three days, finally seizing the opportunity to kiss him, then a satisfied Ji Wenfeng smiled, his eyes crinkling. He leaned against a large tree and said, “You said you didn’t want it, but in the end, you still became my little secretary, didn’t you?”

Lu Rong, slightly out of breath, enjoyed the hard-won freedom of breathing. His face flushed, he glanced at him defiantly, then pushed him away and walked out, saying, “Clearly, someone used any means necessary to get me elected. It seems money can buy anything.”

Ji Wenfeng grabbed his arm and pulled him back into his embrace.

His large hand gripped the boy’s slender neck, forcing him to lift his face.

“Was it all my doing? In the end, you still… came to my side, didn’t you?” The boy murmured, easily shattering the fragile lie.

The atmosphere became tense, their breaths burning to an unbearable temperature. Their gazes met and receded rapidly at close range, their lips just an inch apart, but their foreheads touched intimately first.

“There’s something I want to ask you. Now, tell me honestly…” Long eyelashes trembled as Ji Wenfeng lowered his eyes, gazing at the boy’s tormented, red lips.

The boy shuddered and slowly closed his eyes.

Now, it seemed there was no point in running away.

Lu Rong’s calm expression softened, and he gently hummed in agreement: “Okay, I promise.”

Ji Wenfeng was taken aback: “Promise what?”

Lu Rong: “…?”

Lu Rong: “What do you want to ask?”

Ji Wenfeng solemnly said: “First, promise me that you will listen to your heart and truthfully answer my feelings.”

Lu Rong: “…Oh.” Although he seemed very serious, for some reason, he had a bad feeling.

Ji Wenfeng mentally prepared himself and asked seriously: “Rong Rong, are my feet really that smelly?”

Lu Rong: “…?”

Lu Rong: “…???”

Lu Rong resolutely struggled out of Ji Wenfeng’s arms, uttering a sound of utter disbelief from the depths of his soul: “Huh?”

At such an important moment, in such a pleasant atmosphere, you fu*king want to ask me this?!

“These past few days, I’ve been researching anti-foot odor lotion.” Ji Wenfeng seemed completely oblivious to anything amiss, continuing on his own, shyly avoiding his gaze. “I know I smell worse than you, but I’ve been trying to smell better!”

Lu Rong was speechless, lost in thought.

That day, when he tricked Ji Wenfeng into buying shoes, Ji Wenfeng not only enjoyed the shoe-buying game but also wanted to engage in some in-depth conversations that didn’t comply with the laws protecting minors. He appeared calm as a rock but was actually panicking. To refuse Ji Wenfeng, he made up a random excuse.

He seemed to have falsely accused him of having smelly feet.

He also conveniently covered up the fact that the lightning bolt was borrowed from Liang Wendao’s feet.

“You’ve been ignoring me these past few days because of this?” Lu Rong asked, bewildered.

“I didn’t want to either.” Ji Wenfeng, hands in his pockets, then took a few deep steps, while gazing at the distant sunset.

School was over at Chengnan Middle School. Students chatted and laughed as they packed up to go home. Across the green grass of the playground, the atmosphere was noisy, but the atmosphere was heavy in the small shady spot near the podium where they were.

“But if my feet smell bad, no matter how hard I try, I’ll never be worthy of being near you, right?” Ji Wenfeng turned around, looking at Lu Rong with a pained expression. “Even if I force myself on you and keep you, I’ll only be disliked because of my smelly feet, and I’ll never win your heart. What’s the point then? So I secretly swore in my heart that if I can’t get rid of these smelly feet, I’ll never speak to you again.”

Lu Rong: “…”

This was truly unexpected!

Why was the Ji family’s crown prince suddenly so cold? Why did the arrogant husky disappear in the middle of the night? The truth was actually this!

Tsk, so incredibly stupid.

Lu Rong clicked his tongue in annoyance, unbuttoned his shirt, and glanced at Ji Wenfeng, who was earnestly awaiting judgment.

However… all the abnormality and effort were because of one sentence he uttered…

This idiot was damn sweet!

Lu Rong walked over and gently rubbed Ji Wenfeng’s head, saying seriously, “You don’t smell.”

Ji Wenfeng visibly relaxed but still took Lu Rong’s hand and held it tightly in his own, as if afraid Lu Rong would run away. He wagged his tail nervously and asked, “Are you trying to comfort me?”

Lu Rong: “No…” By the standards of a teenage high school boy who wears sneakers and plays basketball all day, your odor level is perfectly healthy.

“I don’t need your pity, I need your genuine affirmation!” Ji Wenfeng pressed Lu Rong’s hand to his chest, his eyes sparkling with hope. “Ever since you said my feet smelled, Liang Wendao and I have carefully analyzed the causes of foot odor and conducted thousands of experiments to find antifungal drugs. We’ve now achieved initial success. If it passes clinical trials, we plan to put it into production.”

Lu Rong: “…”

It seems that fooling you can actually contribute to human civilization.

“I’m not the same person I used to be.” Ji Wenfeng, holding Lu Rong’s hand, sat down on the steps of the stage and solemnly offered his right leg to Lu Rong. “I’ve already used it myself, and it’s been very effective. Take it off and smell it, and you’ll understand what ‘a scholar should be looked at with new eyes after three days’ means.”

Lu Rong, holding Ji Wenfeng’s long leg, thought, “…”

You’re so flirtatious!

No wonder!

The idiom “a scholar should be looked at with new eyes after three days” has a different flavor because of you!

Seeing Lu Rong’s petrification, Ji Wenfeng lowered his head in disappointment: “I know, it still stinks. I’m leaving, I’ll never bother you again.”

Lu Rong: “…”

Ji Wenfeng didn’t expect that even after so much effort, he still couldn’t gain Lu Rong’s approval and dejectedly withdrew his leg.

At this moment, Lu Rong grasped his ankle, took off his sneakers, and sniffed them.

Ji Wenfeng’s heart almost jumped out of his chest as he looked at Lu Rong kneeling on one knee.

Lu Rong quickly raised his head.

Ji Wenfeng swallowed nervously, as if facing his doomsday judgment.

Lu Rong gritted his teeth: “…How much perfume did you pour on your feet?!”

Ji Wenfeng was stunned, then his lips curled into a wild smile: “It smells nice, right?! You like it, right?! Hehe, I knew it.”

His tail held high, and he poked his toes into Lu Rong’s lap, casually tossing his hair, and said condescendingly, “Then let me let you smell it again. Tsk, you greedy little secretary.”

Lu Rong: “…”

Get out of my way, don’t stop me, I’m going to shove his toes in his mouth!

Just then, a flash went off by the bushes.

Lu Rong and Ji Wenfeng narrowed their eyes simultaneously, turning around alertly: “…Who’s there?!”

Xiao Zhuqing, holding a DSLR camera, stood up from the bushes with a complicated expression.

Lu Rong: “You actually took pictures of us without our consent?!”

Ji Wenfeng: “Are you trying to publish our scandal?!”

Xiao Zhuqing scoffed: “I originally wanted to use the student council president’s secret meeting with the secretary as the front page headline for the first issue of the school magazine after its revival, but all I saw was the secretary fawning over the student council president! Bah! Lu Rong! You’re such a spineless man! Just because he’s the student council president, you fawn over him like this? Do you even deserve to be called a high-class beauty? My heart aches!” She stormed off, swearing and cursing.

Ji Wenfeng and Lu Rong: This stalker is so brazen about taking pictures!

Ji Wenfeng: “By the way, Rong Rong, you said you promised me something, what did you mean by promising?”

Lu Rong turned his head: “Nothing. Nothing at all.”

Ji Wenfeng had completely solved his foot odor problem and reconciled with Lu Rong. So he went to the chemistry lab and found Liang Wendao, who was working day and night developing a foot odor solution.

Ji Wenfeng: “My wife and I have made up, and I’m leaving this project team.”

Liang Wendao countered, “What does this have to do with your wife?”

Ji Wenfeng: “Uh…”

Oh no, he accidentally let it slip!

If it’s because his wife used to dislike his feet but doesn’t anymore, then at least he could say his feet used to smell bad! He’s just been elected student council president; he absolutely can’t let this kind of scandal get out!

Ji Wenfeng smoothly covered up his mistake: “He thinks I don’t spend enough time with him now, and he’s making a fuss.”

Liang Wendao scoffed: “Women.”

Then, with an air of superiority, he added, “My girlfriend never bothers me.”

In fact, Jin Menglu hadn’t paid any attention to him so far, and he felt quite guilty.

But a real man can’t miss any opportunity to show off.

Ji Wenfeng patted his shoulder: “Work hard. Once the clinical trials are successful, we’ll register the intellectual property rights, and then I’ll build you a factory specifically for producing and selling foot odor medicine. We’ll split the profits proportionally.”

Liang Wendao: “Wow!”

He never expected that his first intellectual property to be put into practical use would be a cure for athlete’s foot! Although it didn’t sound particularly high-end or classy, what high school student could do something like that?! He felt it was already a very high starting point.

Ji Wenfeng: “You’ll handle the rest of the research and development, and I’ll name the brand ‘Rong Ai’ (容爱).” As he spoke, a blush rose on his handsome face.

Liang Wendao: “That sounds a bit…emmmmm…” weird.

Ji Wenfeng said firmly: “No! It has to be called ‘Rong Ai’! It’s a name with commemorative significance!” He hoped that everyone whose lives were changed by their products would tell the love story of the brand’s founder.

Liang Wendao: “…Okay.”

Since Ji Wenfeng had forcibly used the naming rights of their joint research, he wanted to give him some compensation. He took out the pair of big lightning bolt shoes from his bag, opened the box, and handed them to Liang Wendao: “These shoes are for you.”

Liang Wendao: “…” They looked somewhat familiar.

Ji Wenfeng: “I’m planning to get rid of all my old sneakers. This pair is especially smelly, and my wife wants me to give them away. She said if I’m going to give them away, it should be you, because they wouldn’t be able to handle it if they gave them to others— they’ve never had such nice shoes before, and they’d be devastated. But it’s different for you; you already have a pair. You can alternate between the two.”

Liang Wendao: “Oh, thank you.”

Ji Wenfeng: “It’s strange, really. I only wore these shoes for less than five minutes, and they already smell worse than all my other shoes. Do you know why?”

Liang Wendao: “…I don’t know.”

Ji Wenfeng generously shoved the large lightning bolt into Liang Wendao’s hands: “Then I’ll go to class now.”

Liang Wendao: “Goodbye.”

Watching Ji Wenfeng leave the biochemistry lab, Liang Wendao stared expressionlessly at the shoes in his arms.

Damn, they really do smell.

Suddenly, a bold guess surfaced in his mind— could it be that the person with the smelly feet is actually me?!
