Li Shu slept very late and woke up early.

It was very dark in the room, then he realized that he was holding something in his hand, and because he had held it tightly all night, his palm felt a little painful.

This was Shen Yiyou’s cell phone, Li Shu remembered it, he raised his hand and put the cell phone in front of his eyes, but the screen didn’t light up.

Shen Yiyou’s cell phone automatically shut down when it ran out of power, then he remembered that Shen Yiyou had broken up with him. The words “break up” made Li Shu feel uncomfortable, as if there were ice cubes covering his stomach and back. He sat up with his elbows on the sheets, while the phone slipped out of his hand and fell on the quilt. He picked it up and slowly charged it.

After the phone was turned on, Shen Yiyou’s phone screen showed two missed calls and a message, both from an unfamiliar number, Li Shu picked it up and it read, “I don’t know why you lied to the people in the club, and took my phone away, but please give it back to me.”

Li Shu silently read the message, and before he could start to think about how to reply, the other party called again. Li Shu thought for a while, answered the phone, and before Shen Yiyou spoke, he calmly told him, “I see, I’ll let the driver bring it to you.”

Shen Yiyou probably didn’t expect him to say it so frankly, and he didn’t respond immediately, Li Shu continued to explain: “They asked me if I knew you and if I could go get your phone. I think such clubs usually only open in the evening, so I did it for you, lest you have no cell phone to use during the day. I said you slept just to avoid unnecessary trouble.”

After a while, Shen Yiyou reluctantly said to Li Shu, “Thank you.”

Li Shu asked him, “Wasn’t it too emotional of you to say I lied?”

“…I’m sorry.” Shen Yiyou’s voice sounded as if he was suffering from a hangover, with a little hoarseness and an inconspicuous embarrassment, “Don’t bother your driver, I’ll come and get it.”

“You don’t have to be so troubled, my driver is paid a monthly salary, not as per the mileage,” Li Shu refused. “Of course, don’t worry, I won’t come, I’m not free.”

Shen Yiyou was silent for a while, then whispered “Okay” and “Thank you”.

Ten minutes later, Li Shu took Shen Yiyou’s mobile phone and got into the car.

He didn’t know how much other people valued promises. At least for him, verbal promises could only be regarded as a way to achieve his goals. There was no black and white proof, and there was no need to follow them.

Although Li Shu was very busy, he could work in the car.

“Go to Shen Yiyou’s house,” he said to the assistant sitting in the front row, “do you know where it is?”

The assistant glanced back, and his voice was weak: “This…I don’t know.”

Li Shu was a little dissatisfied with his work ability.

Li Shu himself didn’t know where Shen Yiyou’s house was. Irene Felton must know, but Li Shu chose to call Shen Yiyou.

Shen Yiyou answered it quickly, and when he heard Li Shu’s question, he was stunned for a moment, and then he said the name of his community without much hesitation.

Li Shu hung up the phone and asked the driver to drive there.

Irene had gone there to get a document for Shen Yiyou, but Li Shu never even went there, and Shen Yiyou never invited him, so he was all the more not interested in going. He carefully watched the changing street scene outside the car window, and after a while, the driver stopped in an empty parking space on the side of the road and told him, “We’re here.”

Only then did he realize that Shen Yiyou’s community was closer to his apartment in S City than he thought.

The location of this community was very good, it was not new, but the environment seemed to be good. A two-vehicle one-way street passed by the doors of the houses. The tall green trees blocked the sunlight for the asphalt road, it was like a corner of pure land in the downtown area.

The size of Shen Yiyou’s house was unknown, but Li Shu deduced that it would not be too large.

Li Shu asked the driver to call Shen Yiyou on the phone. There seemed to be the sound of water coming from the other side. He said that it was inconvenient for him to come downstairs now, and politely asked the driver if he could put his mobile phone in a row of lockers next to the security room.

After Li Shu nodded, the driver agreed.

The driver got out of the car, put the phone in the locker, and returned to the car. He had just stepped on the accelerator and was about to drive away, when Li Shu stopped him: “Wait.”

“Don’t go yet.”

The driver backed up the car.

Li Shu decided to wait until he saw Shen Yiyou before leaving. He turned on the computer and read the minutes of the meeting made by Irene last night, while paying attention to the movement at the lockers and the gate of the community.

It took three hours for Shen Yiyou to come down, which was somewhat beyond Li Shu’s expectations, but during this period, Li Shu had completed many of his tasks, and not a minute was wasted.

Li Shu looked out of the car window and saw Shen Yiyou, who was more than 20 meters away from him, but he immediately raised his hand and closed the computer. This was because the light of the display screen was a bit dazzling, it interfered with his sight and affected his concentration.

Shen Yiyou walked slowly, stepping on a pair of plush slippers that Li Shu had never seen before, wearing pajamas and a thick coat. After walking out of the gate of the community, Shen Yiyou stopped and raised his head, as if aimlessly looking at the dead branches above his head for a few seconds, and then lifted his feet and moved to the password screen of the locker.

The wide coat covered his thin waist, and Li Shu could only see his snow-white neck and the back of his hands.

At this time, Li Shu thought that Shen Yiyou was like the swan on the blue lake in the color illustration on the thirty-ninth pages of a fairy tale book he had read in his childhood.

The illustrator had painted the swan very, very beautifully. In such a children’s book, the beauty was a bit overwhelming. After Li Shu saw the swan, the rest of the fairy tale book seemed to have lost its meaning.

Shen Yiyou held a note in his hand and entered the password on the display one button after another. After entering the box, the lid popped open, and the sound was a bit loud. He took a step back in shock, before squatting down and taking out the phone. He closed the cabinet door and stood by the cabinet. He lowered his head to unlock the screen and checked it for a while.

Li Shu looked at Shen Yiyou’s pale profile, and felt that he looked very tired, and he must have not slept well last night.

Fortunately, Li Shu didn’t sleep well either, they were the same.

After Shen Yiyou checked, he put the phone in his coat pocket, and started to walk in again. He didn’t walk fast, but after a minute or two, Li Shu still couldn’t see him anymore.

Li Shu turned his head and asked his assistant, “Will he be angry if I go out now?”

The assistant glanced back at him, overwhelmed and hesitant to say anything with fear written all over his face.

“Forget it.” Li Shu said, and sent another email to Irene, asking her to replace his assistant, and then asked the driver to set off.

When he was about to arrive at the apartment, Li Shu edited a text message on his mobile phone and asked Shen Yiyou if he had already got the mobile phone. Not long after he pressed send, Shen Yiyou sent a reply, he said he had it, and politely said, “Thank you. “

Li Shu replied, “No thanks needed,” then he couldn’t help but ask Shen Yiyou, “Where did you get the phone number you used to send me messages this morning.”

Shen Yiyou didn’t reply to him.

When he got home, he immediately started thinking about Shen Yiyou, so he turned on the projection screen in the living room and found the 49-second video he had taken on Shen Yiyou’s birthday last year, as well as some other videos and started them on loop playback.

Shen Yiyou’s birthday was at the end of July, and for Li Shu, summer had become special because of this.

Li Shu asked Shen Yiyou how his birthdays were spent in the past, and Shen Yiyou told him that most of them were with friends or family members, and they passed it by eating and drinking together.

After falling in love, Shen Yiyou spent two birthdays with Li Shu. Li Shu believed that this showed that for Shen Yiyou, Li Shu was more important than Shen Yiyou’s friends and even family.

There were many people who liked Shen Yiyou, but Shen Yiyou chose Li Shu because he liked him. But why did he want to break up now, Li Shu couldn’t figure it out for the time being.

Li Shu walked around the house again.

In the afternoon, the weather was fine, there were no clouds and the sun was shining brightly, but it was too dazzling. Li Shu closed the curtains with the remote control and searched for traces of Shen Yiyou in the room of more than 280 square meters, but still found nothing.

The cleaning lady had come in the morning and cleaned up the room. The room was now very clean, she had changed the sheets, and the last smell of Shen Yiyou that was almost non-existent had also disappeared. Li Shu sat beside the bed for a while, then returned to the living room to continue playing the video.

During the video playback, Li Shu didn’t keep his eyes on the screen all the time. He completed a lot of work, but from time to time he looked up at Shen Yiyou’s smiling face in the video.

Li Shu would feel more comfortable when he saw Shen Yiyou.

He had always been so.
