Zhang Sujin looked left and right, and stood up with great insight.

“Please sit down, please sit down.”

Then quickly left the woman’s battlefield.

Feng Fuman sat down leisurely. She glanced at Lin Qingqing and couldn’t help but smile when she saw the latter’s tense expression.

Seeing Lin Qingqing’s innocent and naive reaction, she couldn’t help but want to tease her a little.

I’m hopeless; I’m a truly wicked woman.

The sight of three women with different styles sitting together, even though fans at the scene only managed to see the backs of their heads, still caused an uproar online.

What is this feeling of intense romantic tension? What’s with this chaotic, almost dangerous atmosphere when meeting your lover?

In no time, Jiang Shining, Lin Qingqing, and Feng Fuman were all trending on social media. Seven out of the top ten trending topics were related to the gala, and the three of them accounted for half of them.

Feng Fuman was actually teasing Lin Qingqing on purpose, because Lin Qingqing’s hostility and nervousness were too obvious.

Feng Fuman sat to Jiang Shining’s left. Jiang Shining could feel the pleasure emanating from her, and naturally knew what she was thinking. Jiang Shining sighed, feeling a bit of a headache.

Other celebrities tried to project a close-knit family vibe, but these two beside her were different.

“Qingqing, she’s just teasing you,” Jiang Shining said helplessly. “The more your emotions fluctuate, the happier she is.”

“How could I be that bad?” Feng Fuman crossed her legs and said quietly, “Anyway, we’re all friends, so I just came over early to get together, is that not allowed?”

Jiang Shining suddenly felt very tired.

When she went home, she had to watch her two sons fighting.

Going outside, she had to watch Xiu Lingfei and Chen Sheng argue.

And now attending a party, Feng Fuman and Lin Qingqing were at odds again.

Wherever she goes, there’s always a fight. Why is there so much unrest around her? Could it be that she stole the lead role’s screen time…?

Feng Fuman looked at the lifeless Jiang Shining and the alert Lin Qingqing beside her, smiled, stood up, and reached out to touch Lin Qingqing’s forehead. Lin Qingqing’s eyes widened instantly.

“Your girlfriend is really fun. Let’s get together sometime,” Feng Fuman said.

Ignoring their reactions, she left happily after teasing Lin Qingqing.

Jiang Shining sighed. Feng Fuman had become much more open-minded than before. It seemed that her horizons had broadened, and her personality was better than before.

Lin Qingqing then realized, “Was she just provoking me? I’m one of the champions of palace intrigue, after all.”

“She likes you very much,” Jiang Shining said.

“I don’t believe it,” Lin Qingqing muttered.

Finally, the gala began, and Zhang Sujin sat back down.

“You women are terrifying,” Zhang Sujin clicked his tongue. “I’ve only ever seen women fighting over men before, President Jiang is truly different.”

Jiang Shining was too lazy to pay attention to him, but then she suddenly thought of Jing Yuan’s company.

“Where did you hire your bodyguards?”

Zhang Sujin mentioned the name of the First Bodyguard Company.

“Let’s try another one,” Jiang Shining said sincerely. “I know a newly opened bodyguard company that’s extremely professional. Would you like to give it a try?”

“Helping a friend with advertising?” Zhang Sujin said with a laugh, “Wouldn’t it be better if I had my other celebrity friends change their bodyguards too?”

“That would be best, of course.” Jiang Shining said without any politeness.

“Great, my contract with that bodyguard company is about to expire, so I can give your recommendation a try,” Zhang Sujin said, showing her respect.

Jiang Shining’s main task at this banquet was to help Jing Yuan promote his company and casually boost Lin Qingqing’s popularity. There would be time to chat after the live stream ended, so there was no rush.

The live broadcast of the gala started quickly, and the hosts were all well-known figures in the entertainment industry. It truly lived up to its name as the only gala called “A Galaxy of Stars.”

The host came on stage to warm up the audience, and then the show began. The hottest male idol who was currently singing and dancing performed a song from his latest album on stage, and the fans in the back row immediately screamed.

After each performance, the artists stayed on stage to chat with the host and promote their latest work. Every few performances, a game segment was arranged.

The 4T group under Ninglu’s label was assigned a game segment. They first performed their latest single, and then another four-member group came up to perform. Finally, everyone was invited up. The eight members formed two teams and played games together.

The games were fairly standard, like charades or other tests of teamwork. Both groups of young male celebrities were very popular; many stars in the audience were playing on their phones, but their fans watched intently. Whenever a group had an advantage, the fans in the back rows would cheer for their idols.

In the end, the 4T group won by a narrow margin and received a plush toy as a reward from the host. The 4T fans also applauded in a very gracious manner.

Jiang Shining was also very happy to see this. The four boys were young and full of energy. Just watching them play and joke around, she could feel the beauty of youth.

As one of the hottest topics online recently, the production team couldn’t ignore Jiang Shining. So, after the 4T group won, the camera cut to Jiang Shining in the audience. Seeing herself on the big screen behind the stage, Jiang Shining smiled and waved.

The cheers from the fans in the back row were even louder, with the 4T fans shouting, “Hello, Grandma!”

What kind of ridiculous name is that?

On stage, the four children smiled a little shyly, and the host played along, asking with a smile, “How did you feel hearing your fans call your boss ‘Grandma’?”

Although she was mentally older, Jiang Shining was actually only five or six years older than them; they should have called her “sister,” yet she was being called “grandmother.” Even though they knew Jiang Shining wouldn’t mind, they still waved their hands with a strong sense of survival instinct.

“We always say that our boss is a fairy!” the team leader quickly said.

The unruly fans immediately shouted, “Fairy Grandma!”

The main dancer covered his eyes with a very entertaining gesture, looking quite desperate, which amused the fans.

“Stop talking, or we won’t get paid next month!” The other two waved their hands vigorously.

Everyone laughed.

A staff member has already handed the microphone to Jiang Shining.

While the host stood on the stage, conducting an interview from a distance.

“How did Boss Jiang feel when she heard her fans calling her “Grandma”?”

“It feels like having a house full of children and grandchildren.” Jiang Shining said with a hint of helplessness.

Everyone laughed good-naturedly.

“As the boss, what did you think of the performance of these four teenagers this year?” the host asked again.

The four children immediately looked over very seriously, waiting to hear Jiang Shining’s evaluation.

“They are all very hardworking and serious about their careers,” Jiang Shining said gently. “I really like these kids, and the future belongs to them.”

She was speaking from the heart, but the host laughed and said to the fans, “Look what you fans have done to President Jiang. She’s so young, but now she’s starting to sound more and more like a mother.”

“At most, we can only call her Fairy Sister,” said the youngest member.

After a few more pleasantries, the host asked them to leave the stage.

Jiang Shining was seated in the fifth row. The seats in front were reserved for artists who were performing or going on stage, which was more convenient for them.

The four young people left the stage, and the process continued on stage. Originally, the four of them were supposed to go directly to their seats in the front row, but the youngest and most active member grabbed the plush toy and ran energetically up the steps. In just a few steps, he reached the fifth row, handed the plush toy to Jiang Shining through Zhang Sujin, and even made a heart shape with his hands for her.

The lounge where the bodyguards were located was somewhat like a backstage monitoring area. After all, there were many celebrities there, and although nothing could possibly happen, the bodyguards still had the right to watch the surveillance footage.

When Jing Yuan saw how eagerly the boy was pandering to Jiang Shining, his face darkened.

He only has one mother, and the family’s resources aren’t even enough to go around giving her, yet she has a guy outside who’s so attentive and even trying to be cute? Does being young make you superior?

He was in a terrible mood; it feels like the whole world was thinking about his mother.

The party was still going on at the scene.

After several performances and games, and the presentation of some online awards, the gala began by introducing some currently popular internet celebrities who were now trying to cross over into other fields. Some of them became famous by singing on live streams, while others were people with special skills in sports.

After inviting several celebrities from different industries to perform on stage, the host came on stage.

“The next person to appear is someone who became incredibly popular last year. Although he’s not in the entertainment industry, he gained a lot of attention because he won a special international competition award…” Before he could finish speaking, fans cheered, and the host shouted, “Welcome our Esports King— Wei Yan!”

A louder cheer erupted, but it was quickly drowned out by the sound of the speakers.

The entire stage went dark, and the screen lit up, showing a high-energy montage. A handsome young man sat at a computer desk, his fingers clattering across the keyboard, accompanied by game footage and a powerful background music, giving him the presence of a massive army.

On the screen, Wei Yan’s gaze was sharp, and the mouse and keyboard seemed to become his weapons. In the game, his character swept away the enemy in the international e-sports competition. Accompanied by the game commentator’s heart-wrenching shouts: “We won! We won! Wei Yan has won the final victory!! The championship belongs to Wei Yan!”, the young man took off his headphones, and his teammates and coaches rushed to hug him.

Finally, the ceremony ended with him holding up a golden trophy amidst fluttering ribbons.

The big screen went dark, and the fans in the audience screamed.

Wei Yan was incredibly popular, far exceeding the esports circle. This was largely due to the fact that among all the gamers, Wei Yan was the most handsome, and many of his fans started playing the game because of his looks.

He was also very popular with the general public, and most online fangirls had a good impression of him. Because Wei Yan wasn’t an artist, he didn’t compete with their idols, so he had many casual fans and fans who were simply attracted to his looks.

The stage lights came on, and a young man wearing a hoodie and cargo pants, with headphones around his neck, walked onto the stage. Among the many celebrities dressed in formal attire, his appearance looked like someone who had been dragged to a gala while shopping.

“Welcome, Wei Yan,” the host said. “As an international esports champion, we’re all curious about why you initially chose this path. Was it your love for games?”

Wei Yan picked up the microphone and said, “It’s because my family is rich, so I don’t need to work.”

This unenthusiastic answer made everyone burst into laughter.

“Besides that?” The host smiled helplessly.

“My values are to enjoy life to the fullest; I’m a hedonist,” Wei Yan shrugged. “Playing games makes me happy, so I’ve been playing them all along.”

“Did you encounter any difficulties along the way?”

“No,” Wei Yan chuckled. “If there were any difficulties, I wouldn’t have continued playing.”

What a conversation killer!

After chatting for a few more minutes, Wei Yan was presented with a celebrity award in the gaming industry before being asked to step down from the stage.

Before leaving the stage, Wei Yan blew a kiss and made a heart shape with his hands to the fans, which elicited another round of screams.

Jiang Shining raised an eyebrow. This person’s personality was completely different from what she had expected. When she worked at the Bureau, she had seen videos about e-sports, and these young and good-looking e-sports players were basically all the male protagonists. Their personalities were either the cold, aloof, and nerdy type who didn’t know how to socialize, or the simple, cute, and sunny type.

As for Wei Yan’s behavior, well… it seemed like he was deliberately engaging in awkward small talk, with a mischievous mentality of wanting to see the host embarrassed. He even flirted with fans before leaving the stage, acting completely carefree, as if he didn’t care about anything at all…

With this kind of personality, he was clearly not cut out to be the male lead.

Jiang Shining thought to herself.

Just then, Jiang Shining received a message from Feng Fuman.

Feng Fuman: [Don’t you think this guy’s behavior looks familiar? Ever since he became famous, I’ve always felt like I’ve seen him somewhere before.]

Jiang Shining was taken aback, and she couldn’t help but ponder. Wei Yan’s demeanor was indeed very familiar; where had she seen him before…?

Suddenly, a memory appeared before her.

A young man, badly beaten and unable to get up, lay on the bed, still shouting, “I’m handsome and dashing, everything about me is top-notch!”
