The Great Prophecy Technique carried Luo Mi through the roaring tide of time, going against the current to trace back to the source.
Different scenes flashed around Luo Mi, taking him across several eras and directly back to the Second Era.
During the use of the Great Prophecy spell, Luo Mi also discovered the underlying reason why only the Pope could use this divine spell with the Scepter of Glory:
The caster of this divine spell was essentially the Scepter of Glory, not the Pope. The principle behind the spell was to read the records at the bottom of this world, thus enabling it to trace history and predict the future to some extent.
The divine arts Luo Mi usually used were essentially the transformation of divine power into matter; this was the first time she had come into contact with the deepest level of the world. If the holy light permeating this world was a vast lake, then the world itself was a deep sea, vast and dangerous, where one could easily drown if one was not careful.
The Pope could only resist the suppression of the world’s primordial power by merging himself into the scepter of glory.
During this process, Luo Mi simultaneously felt the power of the god within the Scepter of Glory and the power of the world outside the scepter. Fortunately, he was now a pure and complete Seraphim, which allowed him to barely withstand it.
Since the goal was to trace back, Luo Mi originally intended to trace back to the era of the gods’ descent. However, seeing that he still had some power left, another idea suddenly popped into his mind: Since tracing back once is so troublesome, why not trace back further?
The Bible says that God created everything in the world, but if God was a time traveler, then that statement is obviously more of an exaggeration!
With a thought, Luo Mi made the Scepter of Glory continue to trace back to the past, crossing the Second Era and the First Era, and directly arriving before the previous era!
Just then, Luo Mi suddenly stopped.
He sensed an incredibly powerful and terrifying aura “ahead,” like a hungry beast opening its jaws to wait for its prey to fall into its mouth, giving Luo Mi a premonition that he would die if he went any further.
He instinctively stopped tracing back and immediately wanted to go back a portion of time.
Before returning, Luo Mi couldn’t help but glance “out” at the outside of the Scepter of Glory.
A pure white, semi-transparent monster roamed the desolate land. Its enormous body was as transparent and wriggling as jelly. Every now and then, it would grow a few hands or feet, as well as various human or animal organs, making it look terrifying and disgusting.
Not far from the monster, a figure, incredibly small in comparison, gripped a weapon and walked slowly but resolutely toward it.
Luo Mi paused for a moment, then felt a sharp pain in her eyes and quickly retreated back into the Scepter of Glory.
The scepter of glory carried him into the First Age.
Luo Mi felt that the world had become safe again, and then covered his eyes as he emerged from the scepter of glory.
He saw that figure again.
The figure stood on a boulder, calmly gazing at the setting sun ahead.
Pure white holy light flickered around him, like the tides.
Because it was just historical footage from a world record, Luo Mi boldly turned to face him, meeting a pair of dark brown eyes.
Those eyes gazed at the desolate and broken land before them, their expression a mixture of relief, melancholy, and a touch of bewilderment.
Luo Mi had already confirmed the identity of the person in front of her: god!
The deity worshipped by the Vatican!
Looking at the god’s appearance, Luo Mi felt as if the other shoe had finally dropped.
The god and Anos looked very similar.
Both had handsome features, but the only difference was that God’s facial features were more like those of East Asians, while Anos was more like a European Caucasian version of God.
Could God be one of the Anos?
The thought flashed through Luo Mi’s mind as he carefully examined the god, trying to find some commonalities between the god and Anos.
Just as he was observing God, God suddenly spoke: “What do you think?”
Luo Mi was taken aback and subconsciously asked, “What?”
God stood quietly for a moment, a hint of a smile appearing in his dark brown eyes, and then said, “I think it’s good too.”
Luo Mi realized what was happening and pinched his cheeks, blushing slightly: he had forgotten that this was just a rewind of history.
God, seemingly communicating with someone, spoke again with a gentle expression, “After some time, as I adapt to my new power, I will be able to create a body for you.”
After saying this, the god jumped down from the boulder, turned around, and walked away into the distance.
Luo Mi blinked, somewhat surprised.
The Great Prophecy could extend back to the beginning of the First Age, but its spatial scope was limited to the area where the holy city of Bethlehem was located. In the biblical account, God and angels descended in Ionia, while Bethlehem was merely a wasteland.
Luo Mi watched the god and realized that the god was heading west and had no intention of stopping here.
At the beginning of the First Age, the God traveled across the earth and happened to arrive here? Luo Mi recalled the scene he had seen before the Age: the God facing that terrifying and enormous monster alone.
That scene really did happen in Bethlehem!
Perhaps the location of the new holy city of Bethlehem wasn’t chosen randomly… Luo Mi pondered, turning his thoughts to another question: Who is God talking to?
This time, without much thought, Luo Mi already had a direction for his guess: if the conditions for a god to travel through time were the same as his, then the god must also have a system!
Was he speaking to the system just now?
Will God create a body for his system?
Luo Mi understood something, pondered for a moment, returned to the Scepter of Glory, continued to adjust the time, and appeared the next time the god came here.
….
This time, God was no longer alone.
A man with fiery orange-red hair had appeared beside God, walking in front of God. His eyes were also fiery orange-red, and his back was made of angel wings formed by flames.
It was that past Seraphim God’s Wisdom.
The God’s Wisdom walked to a tree, flapped his wings and flew up, examining the bird’s nest in the tree— during this process, his flames became illusory, neither igniting the leaves nor harming the chicks.
Soon, the God’s Wisdom returned to the ground and said to the God with emotion, “The vitality of this world has recovered so quickly. Now that the threat is gone, it should be able to fully return to normal soon, and the apocalypse will be gone forever.”
God walked behind him and nodded slightly.
The God’s Wisdom walked to Luo Mi’s vicinity and stopped, looking at the open field in front of him, his expression gradually becoming sentimental.
God walked to the side of the God’s Wisdom, stretched out his hand and conjured two chairs, and sat down with the God’s Wisdom.
The two of them gazed at the scenery in silence, surrounded by a warm and soothing atmosphere that made Luo Mi, standing to the side, feel out of place.
Is this what it feels like to be around couples who are constantly showing off their affection? Luo Mi sighed inwardly.
It seems that the God’s Wisdom and the God were just tourists and did not stay here for long. Only in occasional conversations did Luo Mi learn that they were helping the remaining humans to build homes on the earth— the power of that monster after its death had caused many strange monsters to spawn on the earth, and the God’s Wisdom’s travels were also a process of clearing out these monsters.
….
When Luo Mi leaped to the spot where the god appeared again using the scepter of glory, he was startled by the sky filled with thunder and dark clouds.
Thunder roared from the pitch-black clouds, as if the end of the world had come, and a torrential downpour of lightning rained down on the earth!
On the distant plains, occasionally, orange-red lights could be seen rising, blocking the falling lightning.
Amidst endless thunder, the god stood atop the giant rock he had visited several times before, his expression cold and silent.
The God’s Wisdom stood beside him, his face filled with worry.
After a long while, God sighed softly, chuckled self-deprecatingly, and turned to God’s Wisdom, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ve already taken control of myself.”
He reached out and gently stroked the much longer, orange-red hair of the God’s Wisdom.
The God’s Wisdom hesitated for a moment before saying, “They are simply ignorant.”
“Ignorance itself is a sin,” God replied. “It’s nothing, just consider me a mistake.”
The God’s Wisdom nodded silently.
God gazed at him, the coldness in his dark brown eyes dissipating somewhat, replaced by warmth. “Besides, as long as you’re by my side, that’s enough.”
The God’s Wisdom raised his head and met his gaze, his orange-red eyes filled with trust and frankness.
The thunder gradually subsided, the dark clouds slowly dispersed, and the sun shone on the earth.
Luo Mi looked at the two people embracing each other and couldn’t help but turn his head to glance in the direction of Ionia.
He knew what time it was: it was the end of the First Age, the point at which God was betrayed by mankind on earth.
In the Bible, God was so angry that He destroyed the first holy city of Ionia and returned to heaven. His furious thunderbolts pounded the earth for seven days and seven nights, ending the First Age.
Is that all? Luo Mi was somewhat bewildered and glanced at God a few more times.
In other words, at this time, God did not yet regard mankind as his lambs; he was simply disappointed in mankind and did not want to pay attention to them.
What happened next?
….
When Luo Mi emerged from the scepter of glory again, he immediately met a pair of silver-white eyes.
He paused for a moment.
The God’s Heart— or more precisely, the God’s Heart at the age of a child— sat in the place where God once stood, staring blankly ahead.
The young God’s Heart had a chubby face, as if drool would flow out if poked. His short, silver-white hair was a bit messy, and his clothes were dirty.
God’s Wisdom walked over from behind and sighed deeply: “I’ve finally come to understand the pain of raising children.”
He walked up to the young version of God’s Heart. “What are you looking at?”
The God’s Heart sucked on its finger, staring intently at the spot in front of it: “I hate this place.”
The God’s Wisdom said helplessly, “If you hate it, why keep staring at it?”
Without hesitation, God’s Heart replied, “I want to grow up.”
The God’s Wisdom paused, then asked, “Will looking here make you grow up?”
“That’s what God said. God said—” The God’s Heart recalled for a moment, then mimicked God’s words in a childlike tone, “‘If you can grow up, then you will eventually go back there and utterly destroy it.’”
Luo Mi and the God’s Wisdom were both taken aback.
The expression on the God’s Wisdom’s face gradually became solemn, and many complex emotions flashed in his orange-red eyes.
After a long pause, he sighed softly, bent down, and picked up the God’s Heart: “We can’t just keep watching. Ionia has been rebuilt, shall we go take a look?”
The God’s Heart tilted its head, seemingly reluctant, but still answered crisply, “Okay.”
Luo Mi watched the two angels’ departing figures and slowly furrowed his brows.
Judging from the state of the God’s Heart, it seems that it had just been created… At this time, God seemed to be quite kind to him, not as cold as later accounts suggest.
But that sentence— that sentence carried a very ominous feeling.
Who did God mean to “destroy”?
Luo Mi pursed his lips, returned to the Scepter of Glory, and activated the Great Prophecy spell once more.
….
He had thought he would see angels or God many times in the Second Age, but the next time he left the scepter of glory, a considerable amount of time had passed.
There was no god here, nor the God’s Wisdom.
Only the angel with long, silver-white hair stood silently on that weathered giant rock, his eyes filled with bewilderment.
Luo Mi followed his gaze and saw a group of people stumbling and running towards them.
Those people looked at the God’s Heart with terror and pleading, their feet broken and leaving trails of blood as they ran, but they did not stop, as if some monster was chasing them and the silver angel was their only salvation.
A person accidentally fell down.
Then he disappeared.
Subsequently, a large area of land, trees, and even humans disappeared from the area where he was located.
