After taking a shower in the bathroom, Tao Yuan lay exhausted on the bed, thinking that doing this kind of sex business was definitely not easy. Especially since his client was someone with a strong personality and a robust physique.

Tao Yuan closed his eyes and opened the system. He saw that the original tender sprout had grown into a small pink bud. This bud represented the progress of his relationship with Wei Shicheng. The growth of this small bud proved that Wei Shicheng had some feelings for him, but there was still a gap between that and falling in love.

He remembered what the system had said: the degree to which the peach blossoms bloomed represented the degree to which his target loved him. However, the peach blossoms would only fully bloom after his relationship with his target was complete. Therefore, he was destined to play this role for a lifetime.

Activating the system’s recovery function, Tao Yuan finally fell into a deep sleep. With the system’s recovery, he felt refreshed and energized when he woke up.

Now that Tao Yuan was being kept by Wei Shicheng, he was no longer short of money and no longer needed to earn money by playing zither at the teahouse. He could stay home at night, either painting, tutoring Du Yi, or waiting for Wei Shicheng to send someone to pick him up. The Youth Cup Chinese Painting Competition was approaching, and he could also prepare his entry.

Wei Shicheng said he would pick him up in a couple of days, but he flew abroad the next day, with no return date certain, making Tao Yuan even more relaxed.

“Du Qingyu, come with me for a moment,” Hu Wenshan said, leaving the classroom after packing his things.

Tao Yuan, carrying his painting case, followed Hu Wenshan into his office.

“Close the door,” Hu Wenshan said, putting down his case and sitting behind his desk. It was a private office; no one else was there besides the two of them.

After closing the door, Tao Yuan stood in front of Hu Wenshan’s desk, waiting for him to speak.

“You’ve been doing very well lately. You’ve made great progress in your studies and are more respectful of your teachers than before.” Hu Wenshan tried several times to deliberately provoke Tao Yuan, but without success. Tao Yuan was like a block of ice, cold and hard in his presence. Hu Wenshan was both anxious and angry. The Youth Cup Chinese Painting Competition was drawing closer, and he had been entrusted with a task. Since he couldn’t prevent Tao Yuan from participating, he had to find other ways.

Tao Yuan remained expressionless as usual, waiting for him to continue.

“The Youth Cup Chinese Painting Competition is about to begin. You’ve always been one of the top students in our grade, and I think you have a very high chance of winning this competition. Your recent performance has been excellent, and you’ve made great progress, so I’ve decided to give you individual guidance to increase your chances of winning.”

“Teacher, where do you see that I’ve improved? Haven’t you always said that my work lacks artistry? You usually favor Xu Shaoyan more, so why are you suddenly giving me individual guidance?” Tao Yuan feigned confusion, but he knew perfectly well what was going on. He hadn’t even demonstrated any painting skills better than the original owner, so it would be a lie for him to see any improvement. Besides, he definitely had something to hide, otherwise he wouldn’t have said those things.

Hu Wenshan cleared his throat awkwardly and said, “Your basic skills have improved a lot, but you still lack in artistic presentation. That’s why I wanted to give you special guidance to increase your chances of winning. As for Xu Shaoyan, I’m already guiding him. Like you, he also has a high chance of winning. However, the competition only selects the top three. As your traditional Chinese painting teacher, I naturally hope that you can all win, which is why I’m giving you individual guidance.”

“Why does the teacher think he can give me artistic guidance? Isn’t the teacher here because he didn’t show enough artistic talent, that’s why he stayed on as a teacher?”

Hu Wenshan’s face immediately turned ugly, and he said, barely suppressing his anger, “I kindly wanted to guide you to win an award, but you’re mocking me here. I just praised you for being more respectful to your teachers lately. You’re too easily flattered.”

“Actually, I don’t need the teacher’s individual guidance. Thank you for your kindness,” Tao Yuan said.

“What do you mean?” Hu Wenshan said sternly, “I’m offering to guide you out of kindness, and you’re going to refuse?”

“So, you’re going to force me to accept your guidance, and I can’t refuse?”

“I’m doing this for your own good.”

“I understand. So, how much is the guidance fee?”

Hu Wenshan paused, then said, “Guidance fee?… No, that’s not necessary. As your Chinese painting teacher and homeroom teacher, guiding individual students is what I should do.”

“You usually dislike me so much, and now you suddenly want to give me individual guidance, not to charge me. Do you have some other purpose?” Tao Yuan looked puzzled.

Hu Wenshan thought to himself, so he thought he wanted to force a fee. But that’s not a bad thing; it’s better than thinking he has other motives.

“Forget about the tutoring fee. If you’re so kind, a small gift for the teacher is fine.”

“I don’t know what the teacher likes, but since the teacher insists on tutoring me individually and wants me to give a gift…” Tao Yuan took out her phone, transferred the money, and asked, “Is this enough to buy the teacher a gift? If so, you can pick out whatever you like.”

Hu Wenshan picked up his phone, saw the transfer amount, and was slightly shocked. He thought his previous intelligence was wrong; this kid wasn’t short of money at all, and was surprisingly generous.

“It’s enough. With this money for the gift, the teacher will tutor you diligently. Don’t worry.”

To prevent some teachers from not teaching students seriously and only thinking about private tutoring for fees, the school had regulations prohibiting teachers from accepting money from students privately. Hu Wenshan accepting Tao Yuan’s money meant he had leverage over him, something Hu Wenshan couldn’t possibly be unaware of.

However, he wasn’t worried, because he was just following orders. If anything went wrong, someone would take responsibility. Why would he worry that a student with no backing or background could do anything to him? Even if he reports him to the school, he won’t get away with it; in fact, he’ll be the one in trouble.
