“Third Sister, that’s not right. I’m Grandma’s granddaughter, and you’re Grandma’s granddaughter. We’re all family. Why don’t you have the right to eat?”

Yun Zheng said seriously. The original owner of this body was always domineering at home, always wanting to have the best things herself, and no one else had the right to even dream of them. She had to change this distorted worldview.

Qin Yunsheng’s lips parted slightly, somewhat shocked by Yun Zheng’s words, but she still insisted on not eating.

“No, you’ve just recovered from your illness and need to nourish yourself. This is the only egg left in the house. I can’t eat it!”

“Third Sister, I’ve just recovered, and my head is still dizzy. I really don’t have an appetite right now. You eat it for me.”

Yun Zheng knew she couldn’t persuade Qin Yunsheng for the time being, so she simply retreated to advance.

Qin Yunsheng swallowed hard as she looked at the plump white egg. In this day and age, people don’t even have an appetite for eggs? This was the first time she’d heard of such a thing!

In those days of scarcity, eating meat was a luxury, so eggs became the only meat dish on most families’ tables. Most would trade eggs for grain and might only eat them once or twice a year during festivals.

Qin Yunsheng couldn’t remember the last time she ate eggs, only that they tasted incredibly delicious; just thinking about them made her mouth water.

Yun Zheng quickly peeled the egg and forcefully shoved it into Qin Yunsheng’s hand, threatening, “If you don’t eat it, I’ll throw it away.”

“No, no, don’t throw it away!” Qin Yunsheng quickly clutched it tightly, afraid Yun Zheng would really throw it away, and said with difficulty,

“Okay then, but I’m not hungry, just one bite is enough. I’ll save the rest for you and heat it up for you tonight.”

Saying this, she peeled off a small piece of egg white and put it in her mouth, chewing it carefully, her eyes shining with delight.

Heartbreaking, so heartbreaking.

It was just an egg, a food that Yun Zheng wouldn’t have even looked down on in her previous life, but Qin Yunsheng treated it like a delicacy, unwilling to eat even a single bite and wanting to save it for her.

Yun Zheng’s resolve to make the Qin family rich and powerful only strengthened. She promised Qin Yunsheng, “Third sister, just you wait! I’ll make sure our family lives a good life. We’ll have as many eggs as you want, and you’ll enjoy delicacies every day!”

Qin Yunsheng thought her fifth sister was probably just daydreaming, but she didn’t call her out on it. Instead, she smiled affectionately and agreed, “Good, good, good, fifth sister is amazing! Third sister is just waiting to enjoy this life. But fifth sister, you’re not feeling well right now, so you should go back to your room and lie down, lest it get worse.”

Yun Zheng said, “Third sister, I’m much better now. I’m planning to go to the Cheng family.”

Qin Yunsheng’s heart, which had softened because of her fifth sister’s change of heart, instantly hardened. She looked like she was about to cry. “Fifth sister, why are you going to the Cheng family again? We don’t have anything good left to give you…”

“Third sister, don’t misunderstand, I’m not going to the Cheng family to give anything.”

Yun Zheng patiently explained.

“I’m going to take everything the Cheng family took from us back. We can’t let others take advantage of us.”

Qin Yunsheng was slightly stunned, staring at Yun Zheng with a dumbfounded expression.

Had she heard correctly? Her fifth sister was actually going to the Cheng family to take back what belonged to the Qin family?

Was the sky falling?

You know, her fifth sister was always completely devoted to the Cheng family, never asking for anything back. How could she suddenly change like this? Was she sure she wasn’t going to give them money again?

To be honest, Qin Yunsheng wasn’t very convinced, after all, Yun Zheng had too many criminal records.

“Fifth sister, please, let’s not have anything to do with the Cheng family anymore…”

Taking advantage of her fifth sister’s current sobriety, she quickly instilled in her the idea of severing ties with the Cheng family.

“Third sister, please trust me this once. I’ve thought it through. From now on, I only have the Qin family as my home, and you as my only sister. I will protect you both and not let outsiders take a single thread from our family.”

Yun Zheng’s words were firm and resolute, shaking Qin Yunsheng’s heart. After her fifth sister woke up from the river, she was completely different, a stark contrast to before.

But she truly loved this change. The lovely, family-oriented younger sister of the past was finally back, and the Qin family had hope again!

Qin Yunsheng was filled with excitement.

“Fifth sister, I’m so glad you think this way. But you’re still too fragile to handle any more stress, and the family is busy with the farm work. If you just go and ask for it back, given the Cheng family’s shameless and unscrupulous nature, they definitely won’t return it to us. Besides, they’ve already used up everything they needed; we have no reason to take it back.”

To put it bluntly, it was something the original owner had willingly given to the Cheng family, and the Cheng family had every right not to return it. The Qin family could only suffer in silence.

“Third Sister, don’t worry, I have my own way of handling this.”

A dark glint flickered in Yun Zheng’s eyes, a cold glint appearing on her lips.

“What we can’t get back, we’ll deal with later; what we can get, we’ll definitely make them spit it out.”

“But…”

“Third Sister, if you want the Qin family to rise again, go to town now and find the village chief to come to the Cheng family. Tell him there’s a major matter that needs his intervention.”

Yun Zheng’s voice was gentle, clearly the same as before, yet it gave Qin Yunsheng a deeply moving feeling.

Especially when she said this, she seemed to radiate a holy light, making people involuntarily feel a sense of submission.

Qin Yunsheng foolishly followed Yun Zheng’s instructions and went to town to find the village chief.

Yun Zheng went to the Cheng family alone. It was the busy farming season, and the villagers were gradually coming out to work. They pointed and whispered when they saw Yun Zheng.

“Didn’t they say that Qin’s fifth daughter jumped into the river for Xu Zhiqing and couldn’t be saved? How come she’s still alive?”

“They say bad things live long lives, and it’s true! This girl isn’t even married yet and she’s always thinking about men. When Xu Zhiqing didn’t like her, she jumped into the river. If I had such a shameless daughter, I would definitely drown her!”

“Look, she’s going to the Cheng family again. The Qin family sold most of their house for her, and she still won’t change!”

“The Qin family is really unlucky. How did they end up with such a lazy, good-for-nothing descendant?”

Yun Zheng automatically ignored these voices and slowly arrived at the Cheng family’s door. She kicked the door open.

The author has something to say:

[To clarify, the female lead is currently 16 and a minor. The Cheng family, as her direct relatives, should not have taken the Qin family’s property from her. The female lead has the right to take it back. Abducting a minor is illegal.]

It’s only natural for the female lead to respond; there’s nothing illogical about it.
