Meanwhile, Jiang Shining also arrived at her company.

Before she even entered her office, her phone rang. It was the person in charge of the film crew calling.

“Boss, Mr. Zhang Sujin has suggested thirteen revisions to the script. What should we do?”

“Let him fix the small details,” Jiang Shining said. “For the larger scenes, we can revise one version first and then discuss it with the director and screenwriter after filming begins.”

Besides good sets, a good director, and good actors, the script was also crucial for a film. Zhang Sujin had extensive film experience and always had a thorough understanding of his characters, which Jiang Shining trusted. If Lin Qingqing were to request revisions, she would probably never consider it.

Oh right, today seemed to be the day the main characters would have their costume photos taken.

It had been a while since Jiang Shining had paid attention to Lin Qingqing, so she decided to go to the photography studio after the meeting in the morning.

During the meeting, Jiang Shining received a lot of good news. Many platforms wanted to collaborate with her on variety shows, and some TV stations invited her to be in charge of program production. Some wanted to invest in advertising. And some companies, for reasons unknown, even invited Jiang Shining to act in movies.

On the surface, Ninglu Media and Xuanyuan Video signed a five-year cooperation agreement, keeping the profits within the company. In reality, with the full support of Jing Xuan and Xuanyuan Video, she didn’t actually need to cooperate with other companies at the moment.

In addition, 4-T, a group of four young male idols trained by Ninglu and debuting through a talent show, was also currently very popular. They had only been around for a few months, but their schedules were already booked until next year. Ninglu had made a considerable amount of money just from the commission they received.

Jiang Shining couldn’t help but gasp. These four kids were practically human money-making machines. It seemed like even if they just stood there, countless fans from the company would shower them with money. No wonder so many young people these days wanted to be stars.

In summary, Ninglu Media was thriving and making progress every day.

Fine.

In the afternoon, Jiang Shining drove to the photography studio. Since it was also under the company’s umbrella, she encountered no obstacles along the way. Jiang Shining arrived at the side of the studio and quietly stood in the darkness.

Lin Qingqing was having her picture taken. She wore a snow-white off-shoulder dress, the hem of which gradually transformed into nine fluffy white tails. Snow-white fur also partially covered her shoulders. Coupled with her alluring beauty and innocent expression, she possessed talent despite her lack of experience. The photographer casually suggested a pose, and she executed it flawlessly, as if she were a real white fox who had cultivated herself into human form.

It was really beautiful.

Jiang Shining couldn’t help but sigh. In her previous life, Xiu Lingfei’s harem was full of such beauties, but unfortunately, men, especially emperors, never knew how to appreciate and cherish them.

As she watched, Zhang Sujin, who hadn’t yet removed her ancient costume, came to her side.

“What do you think of the female lead?” Jiang Shining asked him.

“She’s very young and inexperienced, but she’s playing herself and she’s very talented,” Zhang Sujin said. “She is the character, and the character is her. Mr. Jiang, you have a great eye for casting.”

Over there, after Lin Qingqing finished taking photos, staff came over to remove her tail and draped a coat over her shoulders. Lin Qingqing looked up and saw Jiang Shining and immediately waved happily.

“Elder sister!”

Jiang Shining looked up and was embraced tightly by Lin Qingqing again. In her previous life, Lin Qingqing had been very clingy to her, but back then she belonged to Jiang Shining’s group and was under Jiang Shining’s protection. For some reason, now that they were both free, Lin Qingqing had become even more attached to her.

“Sister?” Zhang Sujin asked, “Who’s older or younger between you two?”

Of course, the two of them couldn’t tell him that this was a way of addressing him that they were used to in their past life.

Jiang Shining came to take Lin Qingqing out to eat; they won’t have time for that once the film crew got busy.

They said goodbye to Zhang Sujin, and Jiang Shining took Lin Qingqing to a nearby restaurant for hot pot.

Jiang Shining recounted recent events, especially Jing Yuan’s return today, which made Lin Qingqing’s eyes widen.

“He…he’s really back?” Lin Qingqing said softly. “Then I won’t go to your house to look for you anymore.”

Seeing Lin Qingqing’s cautious demeanor, Jiang Shining smiled helplessly.

“Why are you afraid of him? You’re even older than him.”

“Don’t even mention it. In our past life, no one was not afraid of your good son.” Lin Qingqing murmured as she reminisced, “Ever since I became the Dowager Consort, I’ve tried to appear as little as possible— for fear that one day he might be in a bad mood and drag us to follow you.”

Jiang Shining frowned slightly. “Did he become ruthless in his actions since becoming emperor?”

Normally, this shouldn’t be the case. Since the mission was already accomplished, it showed that Jing Yuan was a competent and good emperor. If he had used intimidation to suppress the people, it would have been impossible for the country to be at peace.

“He’s ruthless to his enemies, but he’s really good to his own people.” Lin Qingqing shrugged. “However, no matter how good he is, we’re still afraid just by looking at his face. Luckily, there’s the Prince, who can mediate and ease the tension.”

“It seems you really admire Jing Xuan.” Jiang Shining was in a good mood because her son was being praised.

“I admire them all, I admire them all, they are all talented.” Lin Qingqing’s survival instincts honed over many years in the imperial harem prompted her to add this sentence.

Lin Qingqing saw it clearly: whether it was Jing Yuan, Jing Xuan, or Jiang Shining, this family was full of devils, and none of them could be offended. Seeing Jiang Shining’s happy expression, Lin Qingqing smiled with relief and prepared to continue eating hot pot.

Then she heard Jiang Shining say, “In this new world, there are so few old friends. I’ll have them come over, and the four of us can have a good meal together. If anything happens in the future, we can help each other out.”

Lin Qingqing’s hand trembled.

Who wants to sit at the same table as the emperor? She’s rather kill herself.

“Um, I suddenly remembered I have something to do—” Lin Qingqing hadn’t finished speaking when she suddenly felt a chill on the back of her neck.

She turned her head stiffly and saw Jing Xuan standing with Chu Jingyuan, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time.

“Mom, are you treating everyone to dinner today?” Jing Yuan asked. He looked down and saw Lin Qingqing, raising his eyebrows in surprise. “Dowager Consort Lin?”

“No… I wouldn’t dare.” Lin Qingqing quickly grabbed her bag and moved to another spot. Since she couldn’t run away, Jiang Shining’s side was the safest place.

“Don’t call her that in public.” Jiang Shining gestured for them to sit down opposite her. She glanced at Lin Qingqing beside her, who was trying to smile but was actually trembling, and said with a hint of helplessness, “You’ve scared her. Can’t you be a little nicer?”

Hearing this, Jing Xuan smiled. After all, Jing Yuan had frightened quite a few of his employees along the way, but since Jing Yuan was his older brother, Jing Xuan couldn’t say anything to him. Finally, Jiang Shining stepped in to uphold justice.

Jing Yuan calmly looked at Lin Qingqing, and then slowly revealed a smile.

“Consort Lin,” he said slowly with a smile, “how are you feeling now?”

….

When Lin Qingqing accidentally met Jing Yuan’s unfathomable black eyes, she shuddered and immediately felt that her life was over.

The author has something to say:

The older brother, who’s been getting dissed all day and is terrified, has a cold, indifferent face.

In his previous life, the powerful Jing Yuan was stern and never smiled. Whenever he smiled, someone would suffer bad luck, so he was always frightening.

Then I saw a comment asking about the relationship/couple pairing issue.

The female lead has no romantic storyline in the early stages; the male characters who appear are likely supporting characters who are also business partners.

There’s no romance between the moths in the main story because there are just too many female moths; the main plot is already too long to cover, and there’s no room for branching storylines.

There are five worlds in total: a harem world with the Chu brothers, a Republican era world with the two siblings, an apocalyptic world with Guoguo, and a cultivation world with the Sword Saint from the previous chapter. There’s also a world with a moth; the son’s character design is finalized, but I haven’t decided which world to write about yet. Feel free to suggest any worlds you’d like to see covered =3= If not, I’ll just briefly mention him when he appears.
