After Gonggong feigned an attack and hid in the small world, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. He staggered and fell to the ground beside the rock, staring at his severed tail for a long time before getting up again and slowly walking backward.

This was a small world that he stumbled upon when he was searching for the burial place of Chi You.

When this small world was first discovered, it was barren and lacked spiritual energy. Although Gonggong initially found it by chance and disliked its poverty and uselessness, he thought it could serve as a way out. So he memorized the location of the small world and, with the help of secret techniques and the Xuanyuan Sword, created an entrance that only he could freely enter and exit.

Unexpectedly, as time passed, this small world became increasingly rich in spiritual energy, transforming from a barren and desolate place into a picturesque landscape, teeming with spiritual plants and trees, and even producing a type of stone essence containing immense spiritual power. After discovering the wonders of this small world, Gonggong not only used it as his last resort but also utilized its abundant spiritual energy and stone essence to temper his body and increase his cultivation.

Fortunately, he had this escape route, which allowed him to withstand the lightning punishment today and escape in time with the help of Taotie and Ying Long.

Gonggong sat down against a stone spirit, placing his palm on it to absorb its spiritual energy for healing. However, this time the injuries were far too severe. Although the defensive artifact crafted from the stone spirit allowed him to withstand the lightning punishment, it had still damaged his foundation. Later, the damage inflicted by severing his tail to escape the Taotie was also considerable. Without this small world, he would likely have needed thousands of years to fully heal his old wounds.

“Taotie, Ying Long!”

Gonggong stared at his snake’s tail, its scales peeling off, its surface uneven, and a section broken off. He gritted his teeth and crushed a piece of stone. Once he recovered, he would make them pay for their crimes in blood!

After angrily absorbing all the nearby stone essence, Gonggong recovered somewhat and continued searching for more stone essence.

As he walked, he noticed that something was vaguely off about his surroundings.

This small world was rich in spiritual energy and resources. Most of the time, he didn’t interfere with its development and changes, letting it evolve freely. He only came here when he was cultivating. But this didn’t mean he was unfamiliar with every plant and tree within the small world.

He had been the only one to come and go here for thousands of years, but now he saw the shattered stone spirit in the forest.

Gonggong tried to pick up the stone fragments on the ground, but the moment his fingers touched them, the fragments turned to powder, the spiritual energy they contained clearly dissipating. He immediately tensed up, his expression becoming wary— someone else had somehow infiltrated the small world.

Carefully concealing his presence, Gonggong used the vegetation and boulders as cover to vigilantly observe his surroundings, searching for any trace of the intruders.

Meanwhile, Ya Zi was dragging a nest of huge stone eggs around looking for a suitable place to build a nest.

He wanted to hatch the eggs!

After learning from Gonggong how to slash through space with a short sword, Ya Zi arrived at a completely unfamiliar place.

After a moment of stunned silence, he quickly regained his composure.

He discovered that the new territory was exceptionally rich in spiritual energy. Although there was no meat to eat, the flowers, plants, and trees were delicious! After eating, he even felt stronger.

Feeling inflated by his newfound power, Ya Zi arrogantly wandered around and, finding no one else in the new territory, claimed it as his own.

He felt he should make his home here.

Of course, he would look for a cave to build a nest, but after searching for a long time, he couldn’t find one that he could build a nest in. In the end, he had no choice but to dig one himself. But as he dug, he discovered that there were eggs inside these strange grayish-white stones.

Ya Zi: ???

The grayish-white stone eggs, each about the size of a human head, were unremarkable in appearance, but Ya Zi found himself inexplicably drawn to them. He rolled around among the eggs for a while, rubbing his scent on each one, and then stretched out his belly for a long time before happily getting up again. He made a simple basket out of vines, put the stone eggs inside, and prepared to drag them to his new nest. As for the stone wall from which he had dug out the eggs, he decided to leave it for now and come back to dig for more eggs when he had time; perhaps he would find a surprise.

He unconsciously made cheerful gurgling sounds in his throat, and in a very happy mood, he dragged a nest of stone eggs around and wandered around, when he unexpectedly bumped into Gonggong face to face.

Ya Zi: ???

Gonggong: …

The two glared at each other, Ya Zi narrowed his eyes, hid the nest of stone eggs behind his back, and lowered his body slightly to be on guard.

That scoundrel is back again; he must be trying to take over his territory.

He might even try to steal his eggs!

This is intolerable!

Gonggong was shocked by the appearance of Ya Zi in the small world, and even ignored the stone eggs that he had subconsciously blocked with his body.

His snake tail coiled up, his body standing tall, coldly looking down at Ya Zi: “How did you get in?”

Ya Zi bared its teeth at him and let out a threatening growl.

“I almost forgot,” Gonggong scoffed at his beast-like reaction, “You’re not much different from a wild beast now.”

His eyes darkened, and he had already made up his mind.

Regardless of how Ya Zi found this little world, he would never let him leave alive.

Both sides were eager to fight, and after a few glances, they were locked in combat.

Although Gonggong was injured, he was confident that he could kill Ya Zi because Ya Zi had lost his memory and had been soaked in resentment in the burial ground for a long time, so his cultivation was not at its peak.

When he unexpectedly discovered Ya Zi at the burial ground, he had already begun to plan. In his plan, Ya Zi was supposed to become Taotie’s food after Taotie was lured to the burial ground and went further out of control. But his plan failed. The out-of-control Taotie not only spared Ya Zi, but also somehow managed to deceive his senses, stealthily switching places with him and almost causing him to perish under the lightning punishment.

Thinking of this, Gonggong felt a surge of overwhelming hatred, and when he attacked again, he did so with deadly force.

Having suffered a loss this time, it was a good opportunity to kill Ya Zi. Then after he recovered from his injuries, he could use Ya Zi’s corpse as a grand gift to Taotie and the Jiangcheng Demon Management Bureau.

Gonggong was filled with boundless hatred, and his attacks became increasingly fierce.

However, Ya Zi was not as simple-minded and weak as he remembered. After a feint, Ya Zi slapped Gonggong’s old wound with its claws, tearing off a piece of skin and flesh, even revealing the white bone.

Gonggong’s face twitched, and the pain from his injuries made him lose control, smashing the surrounding rocks and vegetation. His eyes grew increasingly crazed.

He suddenly burst into laughter twice, gritting his teeth as he said, “Taotie, Ying Long, and now you’re on the list too, you’re all going to die!”

Ya Zi sneered at him with its nose, scratched at the ground with its claws, and its silver-gray eyes grew more and more courageous.

It’s not an illusion; he really has become stronger!

This big, pitted snake is just like that; it’s perfect for taking back and eating roasted snake pieces.

He couldn’t help but slurp at the thought of grilled snake segments; he really wanted to eat meat.

While Gonggong and Ya Zi were locked in a fierce battle, outside, Jiang Lan was having a meeting with Ying Qiao and his elder and fourth brothers, exchanging information.

Apart from Gonggong, all of Qian Sect’s henchmen were captured.

Now, in addition to concentrating their manpower to search for Gonggong’s whereabouts, they also need to find Geng Chen, Jiang Chi and Ya Zi.

Bi Xi and Bi’an searched the entire burial ground of Chi You, but found no trace of Ya Zi. The nine cauldrons that Geng Chen had transformed into, along with Jiang Chi, also vanished without a trace after the lightning punishment.

Jiang Lan pinched the bridge of his nose, suppressing his worries: “Let’s split into two groups. Ying Qiao and I will go with Tai Feng to search for Gonggong’s whereabouts. We’ll leave the whereabouts of Nine Cauldrons, Jiang Chi and Lao Qi to our eldest and fourth brothers.”

Gonggong escaped with serious injuries. If he was not found as soon as possible, there was no guarantee that he would not cause trouble again after recovering from his injuries.

Bi Xi nodded and calmly replied, “I’ve already ordered people to expand the search area. Seventh Brother has probably just left the small world. But Nine Cauldrons and Jiang Chi…” He paused, but ultimately didn’t continue.

Before the lightning punishment, everyone present witnessed Jiang Chi, transformed into a red demonic beast, rush into the Nine Cauldrons, which then landed in the center of the altar. After the lightning punishment, Menghu Mountain was razed to the ground, and all the members of the Qian Sect were present, but the Nine Cauldrons and Jiang Chi were nowhere to be seen. Everyone understood what this meant, but no one dared to voice it.

“Geng Chen and Jiang Chi will be fine.”

In the tense atmosphere, Ying Qiao spoke up with certainty: “Since Geng Chen had been setting up this scheme all along, he wouldn’t let himself die so easily.”

He knew Geng Chen’s personality too well; he wasn’t the kind of person who would go to his death without leaving a last word.

Ying Qiao took out his phone, glanced at it, and stood up, saying, “Ji Xian is here. Let’s do as we just said and split into two groups to search. Ji Xian will join us in searching for Gonggong’s whereabouts, and we’ll also look for traces of the others along the way.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Ji Xian appeared in the distance, her skirt billowing as she rode on flames.

She maintained her aloof demeanor, her gaze sweeping over the surrounding ruins as she said, “I was in seclusion for the past two days and arrived a step too late. Where is Geng Chen?”

“It’s gone.” Ying Qiao shrugged, briefly explaining his speculation to her, and added, “They’re probably setting up something in secret somewhere again.”

Ji Xian’s expression visibly turned colder. She lowered her eyes in thought, took out a jade pendant and said, “On the way here, the jade pendant seemed to sense something. I’ll go find it.”

This jade pendant was the token of love that Geng Chen gave her when they descended to the mortal realm. It was made from the bamboo flowers of the mother bamboo, while Geng Chen carried the child bamboo. The two could sense each other and communicate through this.

Ying Qiao raised an eyebrow upon hearing this and said, “In that case, let’s go find Geng Chen first. Perhaps he knows Gonggong’s whereabouts.”

After discussing the matter, the group split up and took action.

Bi Xi and Bi’an each led their respective Dragon Palace personnel to search, while Tai Feng led the Demon Management Bureau’s personnel to clean up the battlefield before searching for Gonggong’s whereabouts. Ying Qiao and Jiang Lan, on the other hand, followed Ji Xian ahead, using the faint signals from the jade pendant to search for Geng Chen’s location.

Ying Qiao watched Ji Xian walking ahead silently, sensing the guidance of the jade pendant. He wasn’t worried much; in fact, he almost wanted to laugh.

It would be best if Geng Chen had died, otherwise, once he was found, the mess he had left behind would take a long time to settle.
