Fortunately, the next second, Wei Xi turned his gaze away first. He seemed to have suddenly encountered some unexpected situation. He hissed and then quickly took out a pure white jade pendant from his clothes after releasing the hand that was wrapped around the dragon’s whiskers.

The torrential rain pounded on the jade pendant, then slid down its surface texture. Wei Xi stared intently at it, his gaze filled with unspeakable resentment.

He seemed to have reached his limit, so much so that after a long while, he flew into a rage and threw the sign at the dragon’s head, causing the green dragon to close its eyes, and then shout, “Hot! Hot!”

Upon hearing the cries for help, Mr. Gu instinctively reached out to grab it, only to be scalded and startled, feeling as if his entire hand was about to be burned to a crisp.

The jade pendant was swept away by his movement, seeping down the dragon’s head into the pool of dragon blood dripping onto the ground, creating a hissing, boiling sound that made it hard to imagine the terrifying heat it carried. Wei Xi, however, was beyond furious: “I’ve already been patient enough by letting those wild dogs and boars go, why can’t I eat it too?!”

No one knew who he was talking to, but taking advantage of his momentary distraction, the azure dragon quickly realized its opportunity had arrived. Its initial arrogance and ruthlessness had vanished; seizing the chance, it didn’t even dare retaliate against Wei Xi. Instead, it merely shook its head and flung Wei Xi off the platform the instant its horns were released. Then, disregarding its image, it frantically scrambled to its feet, like a fleeing eel, tears welling in its eyes, and charged towards the railing of the observation deck near the sea!

So what if we’re dragons! What does dignity matter? As long as we’re alive, we can always fight again! If we can’t beat them, we can always run away!

The Taoist priests present were initially surprised by Wei Xi’s sudden outburst of anger, but then they noticed its intentions. They were also taken aback by its shamelessness and stared wide-eyed in disbelief: “Lord Azure Dragon!”

“Don’t go to sea!!”

“The city of Ruhai has millions of inhabitants!!! Please reconsider!!!”

Perhaps sensing that its dominance was about to arrive, the howling of the sea breeze instantly increased several times over.

….

At the same time, countless citizens of Ruhai City realized something was wrong. Due to the increasingly fierce winds, the streets were deserted; people sought shelter wherever they could find refuge from the wind and rain, cursing the inexplicably terrible weather. Then, someone looked up and saw the sky, exclaiming in shock, “My God! What’s that cloud?!”

Dark, heavy clouds had begun to gather in the distance, drifting towards the city with overwhelming force. The wind outside suddenly picked up, and with a snap, a large tree on the road, too big to encircle with outstretched arms, was uprooted. Its massive canopy crashed towards the entrance of the nearest shopping mall, causing screams to erupt from the shoppers seeking shelter from the rain inside.

Chaos erupted at several resort hotels near the beach as guests in their ocean-view rooms pulled back their curtains one by one, peering through the rattling glass doors at the strange spectacle unfolding outside their balconies. The waves churning on the sea grew increasingly ferocious, the most recent one easily engulfing the highest point of the sand. Everyone stared intently, not daring to miss a single detail. After a long while, finally, someone began to scream in terror—

“Wave!!!!”

“What huge waves!!!”

“A tsunami is coming!!!!”

….

Inside the park, the Azure Dragon had already crashed into the railing, completely ignoring the shouts of the many believers behind it.

What do humans mean to it? Only other divine beasts can be considered its kind.

It fled too fast, and the Taoist priests present had no time to give chase. Fortunately, Xia Shouren and Chong Ming, who had just suffered a great blow, were by the fence and naturally tried to stop it. However, considering that it was an auspicious beast, Xia Shouren felt compassion and did not use any drastic measures, only reaching out to grab its tail.

However, the Azure Dragon that had received the inheritance was no pushover. Even though the strength of all the spiritual creatures in the world was greatly affected after the collapse of the Heavenly Dao, it still had many tricks up its sleeve. When it realized that Xia Shouren was coming to grab its tail, its eyes flashed, and then it quickly shrank its body and slipped into the gap of the fence like it was crawling through a dog hole.

Xia Shouren was stunned, it was completely unexpected that they would encounter such an uncouth dragon. Aren’t dragons supposed to be proud? Those who roamed the various seas in the past, which one didn’t value their dignity and face more than their lives? They’d rather fight with a large, imposing force than go it alone; they’d rather roar and howl than remain silent and unassuming. What’s with crawling through a dog hole?

Realizing he had made a mistake, Xia Shouren’s expression immediately turned serious.

Just as he was about to chase after him, he saw his friend, who had been by Wei Xi’s side since earlier, walking over with his signature indifferent expression: “This guy is a self-taught amateur. You’re using the methods for dealing with ordinary dragons on him? Are you out of your mind?”

Xia Shouren, however, had no time to refute his friend’s sharp tongue. He just stared blankly at the dragon-spinning spear that had appeared in his friend’s hand at some point.

“…Dude.” With this Dragon-Spinning Spear drawn, that Azure Dragon was doomed. This wasn’t their usual style of doing things. Xia Shouren asked hesitantly, “There’s only one dragon left in the world. Cultivation is difficult. You wouldn’t kill it over something so trivial, would you?”

The Dragon-Spinning Spear gleamed coldly in the rain. Shuo Zong carried it, removing his black raincoat as he walked. The intricate tattoos on his arms peeked out slightly with his movements, the mysterious runes brimming with an untamed killing intent. He glanced subtly at Wei Xi, who was still angry in the crowd, and said indifferently, “It wreaks havoc on humanity, causing floods in many places, and it refuses to be subdued. What’s wrong with that?”

Xia Shouren was a little confused: “Is that really the reason?”

Shuo Zong said calmly, “Otherwise what?”

Xia Shouren said, “…I thought you wanted to use him to feed that person.”

“…” Shuo Zong snorted, “Nonsense.”

Xia Shouren thought to himself, “Bullshit! I clearly saw you feeding him dragon horns!” But before he could say anything, his friend jumped down very nimbly.

Seeing this, Xia Shouren and Chong Ming naturally followed closely behind. The Taoist priests present probably guessed that they were going to take risks, and their faces showed worried expressions.

Tuan Tuanyi was dumbfounded: “What happened? Why did they jump into the sea?! With such big waves, are they crazy?”

The Taoist priests frowned as well: “Having survived the tribulation, it’s now a true dragon. Entering the sea is like entering its home turf. It’s incredibly fast in the water; otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to create such powerful waves. Now, catching it won’t be so easy…”

Before the words were finished, a figure leaped out of the waves with a splash.

Everyone present was stunned for a moment. When they looked up, they saw Shuo Zong, holding the Dragon-Spinning Spear, sweeping his hair aside and stepping over the railing with a dark expression.

The whole thing took no more than five seconds, leaving the Taoist priests present utterly bewildered. Mr. Gu asked blankly, “Shuo… Master Shuo Zong, how come you’re back so quickly?”

Shuo Zong ripped off his seawater-soaked jacket, crumpled it into a ball, and tossed it on the ground. Despite the freezing weather, he was only wearing a black t-shirt; his tattooed arms were wet and wildly striking. He glanced at the crowd, his gaze lingering on Wei Xi for two seconds before he said nothing.

His expression was so grim that the many Taoist priests present became anxious: “Could it be… that he failed?”

The next second, Xia Shouren burst into unrestrained laughter from the side: “A bloodless victory, hahahahaha!”

Everyone looked up in astonishment and saw Xia Shouren emerge from the water with Chong Ming. Before anyone could ask what the sentence meant, Xia Shouren wiped his face and then tossed something over.

Everyone stared intently, and immediately: “…………………………”

A shrunken azure dragon was stuck inside a four-liter Nongfu Spring mineral water bottle, with only its head sticking out of the opening. It had grown larger than when it escaped, completely filling the bottle. Because it was so full, its four claws were helplessly pressed against the bottle walls by its body, its sharp nails baring, managing to poke a few holes in the plastic, while its tail was deformed from the pressure.

The Azure Dragon’s imposing aura finally dissipated completely. It had held back its emotions for so long, not even shedding a tear when Wei Xi bit its scales, but now the head protruding from the bottle was howling uncontrollably—

“I accidentally got stuck in the water when I jumped in, but after I grew bigger, I couldn’t break it no matter what I did. I’ve been stuck in the same spot for ages, unable to swim an inch. Who threw that water bottle into the sea? How could they be so inconsiderate?!”

Taoist priests: “………………”

….

Meanwhile, the citizens of Ruhai City, who were anxiously observing the suspected disaster scene outdoors, put down their phones being used to take pictures.

“Huh?”

“Why has everything suddenly calmed down?”
