Yun Qianyu also picked up the porridge and sipped it slowly. She was very pleased. It seemed that Yujian was growing up faster than she had expected.

After finishing the porridge, the two siblings went to the morning court as usual.

On the way, Yun Qianyu analyzed several Grand Secretaries of the Cabinet with Yujian. Jiang Hongwen was a first-rank Grand Secretary of the Cabinet. It was certain that he would be dismissed. After that, someone would naturally take his place. This was also a good opportunity for Yujian to practice his ability to judge, recognize, and use people.

At the morning court, the officials whispered among themselves, while Jiang Hongwen stood aside with an ugly expression, talking to Rui Wang. When he saw Yun Qianyu and Yujian arrive, he immediately left Rui Wang’s side.

Yun Qianyu was wearing a black court dress embroidered with gold phoenixes. She looked dignified and elegant, yet not lacking in nobility. The phoenix crown on her head made her look even more heroic. She stood there calmly, her gaze merely sweeping over the assembled officials, and the Golden Palace fell silent instantly.

They knew that as long as the Princess Protector was present, officials were bound to lose their hats; this idea was ingrained in their minds, and they didn’t want to squander the glory they had fought so hard for their entire lives.

Fortunately, Jiang Hongwen was there to protect them today, and they looked at the Grand Scholar with pity. Following Tian Binwei, Liu Jingsheng, and Bai Yongzhi, there were still people who weren’t afraid of death!

The morning court session proceeded as usual with Murong Cang’s arrival.

The officials presented their reports according to procedure, and Yun Qianyu listened attentively without mentioning the bet with Jiang Hongwen.

The officials couldn’t help but secretly wonder if the Princess Protector intended to let Jiang Hongwen off the hook. But no matter how they thought about it, this wasn’t the Princess Protector’s style.

Just as the morning court session was about to end, Yun Qianyu finally spoke.

“Scholar Jiang, have you forgotten something?”

Jiang Hongwen stiffened, forcing himself to step forward. “Princess Protector, this humble subject certainly hasn’t forgotten the bet we made. However, the Seventh Prince of Jiuxiao Kingdom was brought back by Princess Luo of Mo Dai Kingdom, not by the Princess Protector.”

“Oh? Did our bet stipulate that I, the princess, would personally find him?” Yun Qianyu raised an eyebrow, deep in thought.

“Even if the bet didn’t stipulate that, the Seventh Prince’s return has nothing to do with the princess, so our bet is naturally invalid,” Jiang Hongwen argued.

“I remember the bet clearly. It was only about the time the Seventh Prince would return. Scholar Jiang, are you a coward who dares to do something but not to admit it?”

Jiang Hongwen’s face flushed red and then turned pale.

“Besides, how do you know that the return of the Seventh Prince, Beitang Ming, has nothing to do with me? Why don’t you think about why Princess Luo of Mo Dai Kingdom would take the blame for Hei Shui? Don’t you suspect anything when Crown Prince Jin of Mo Dai Kingdom hasn’t left the post station all day?”

With each sentence Yun Qianyu spoke, Jiang Hongwen’s face paled further, and the ministers were shocked. It turned out that what seemed like a simple matter on the surface was actually orchestrated by the Princess Protector.

“Coward!” Yu Jian stood with his hands behind his back, speaking without any politeness.

Upon hearing Yu Jian’s words, all the ministers suddenly understood that the Crown Prince was no longer the weak child he once was; unknowingly, he had already acquired the aura of the Emperor in his younger days.

Jiang Hongwen was covered in cold sweat. He stole a glance at Rui Wang, but seeing that Rui Wang wasn’t even looking at him, his heart sank.

At this moment, Imperial Censor Wen Ruhai stepped forward and said, “Yesterday, all the court officials witnessed that Grand Secretary Jiang must honor his bet.”

The officials all looked at Wen Ruhai with admiration; his courage to offend people was commendable!

Yun Qianyu also glanced at Wen Ruhai; indeed, he was straightforward!
