Half an hour later, Mu Sihan stood at the hotel entrance. After a slight hesitation, he went inside.

It was already very late, and apart from a beta half-asleep at the front desk, the place was empty.

Bai Yue and the others had already booked a room for him. Mu Sihan took the key, went upstairs, and was about to open the door when he heard a knock on the door beside him.

Turning around, he saw Bai Yue.

The other man had his usual smile: “You’re back.”

Bai Yue had woken up in the middle of the night. Hearing a sound outside the window, he peeked out and saw Mu Sihan walk in.

They needed to discuss what had happened that day and tomorrow’s plans.

To avoid missing anything, he quickly changed his clothes and opened the door.

However, when he saw the other man’s appearance, his smile faded: “What happened to you?”

Mu Sihan didn’t reply and went into the room. Bai Yue followed.

The light had been too dim before. Now that the light was on, Bai Yue was even more certain that he wasn’t mistaken.

Mu Sihan looked like he had just been in a fierce battle; he was covered in blood. Not only his clothes, but his cheeks and hair were also stained with blood.

The other person took off their uniform jacket. Half-congealed blood tore at the flesh, but even so, he didn’t even flinch.

Bai Yue thought for a moment, then went back to his room to get a tube of wound medicine. Because he often got injured during training, these were always on hand. He just didn’t know if they would work on a knife wound.

The tear in the other person’s uniform jacket was clearly a knife mark.

Mu Sihan was treating the bloodstains. He didn’t even look up when he heard footsteps approaching or leaving. Until a tube of ointment was handed to him.

Bai Yue: “Use this first, I’ll ask tomorrow if there’s any medicine for knife wounds.”

Mu Sihan: “…No need, I’m not injured.”

Bai Yue looked at him, then suddenly reached out and grabbed his left upper arm.

The wound was caught squarely, and even though Mu Sihan was usually very tolerant, he couldn’t help but wince in pain. He hadn’t expected Bai Yue to do this and was somewhat surprised: “What are you doing?”

Bai Yue moved his hand away: “Do you feel ashamed?”

Although most of it was other people’s blood, he wasn’t blind; he could see the wound.

Mu Sihan frowned: “It’s none of your business.”

“We’re roommates and teammates, how could it be none of our business?”

Bai Yue tilted his head. “You always beat me so badly in training. You don’t need to put on a brave face in front of me. Anyway, I’m more embarrassed than you.”

Mu Sihan: “…”

“Ah,” Bai Yue seemed to suddenly realize something, “Could it be that you lied on purpose to avoid making me worry?”

Mu Sihan hadn’t reacted much to the first two sentences. But upon hearing the last one, he abruptly turned to look at him.

Bai Yue saw this and smiled, “I thought you couldn’t hear me.”

He handed him the ointment, “Apply the medicine properly; it’ll at least help it heal faster.”

Mu Sihan hesitated for a moment, then raised his hand and took the ointment.

Most of the blood on Mu Sihan’s body belonged to others. The only wound was a knife wound on his upper arm.

Although the cut wasn’t deep, the bleeding was quite excessive.

Bai Yue watched him apply the medicine, “So, where did you go tonight?”

In Bai Yue’s opinion, Mu Sihan wasn’t the type to fight for no reason. Besides, they were currently on a mission; the intense fight was likely because they had found some clues.

A faint smell of medicine filled the air.

Mu Sihan lowered his hand, his icy blue eyes fixed on Bai Yue, as if deep in thought. After a moment of contemplation, he said, “The intelligence agency.”

The intelligence agency?

Bai Yue hadn’t expected that such a gray area existed in K City. But then he thought about it and realized it was understandable. The area had terrible security; it was definitely the most rampant territory for the gray sector.

However, Mu Sihan’s ability to discover the intelligence agency so quickly was different from his usual image.

Mu Sihan: “Didn’t find any clues, but attracted a bunch of ‘rats’.”

Bai Yue was slightly taken aback: “Rats?”

“Street rats, thugs. But I do know who these people work for.” Mu Sihan lowered his long sleeves.

Bai Yue sensed something was off. Judging from the other person’s tone, it seemed like he knew this place very well.

But soon, he knew the answer.

Mu Sihan’s tone remained icy: “I used to live in K City.”

The night grew deeper. Occasionally, crows could be heard flying by, making noisy cawing.

Even late at night, the depths of K City were still bustling. But at least on the surface, it remained as calm as still water.

About 100 meters from the hotel, a figure sat on the edge of a high-rise building.

He sat on the edge of the rooftop, his feet dangling casually in mid-air.

However, he was completely covered by a pure white mask and a hood, his face obscured, making his appearance impossible to discern.

He silently lowered his binoculars.

Just then, footsteps sounded behind him.

“Boss, so you’re here!”

Wu Zihao scrambled up to the top floor. “The others’ locations are confirmed; we can move out anytime.”

Receiving no response, Wu Zihao crouched down beside his boss. Seeing a pair of binoculars in his hand, he pulled them out and looked in the same direction.

Then, he inwardly gasped.

Holy crap! Aren’t these the two omegas he met the other day? They’re also candidates for the selection team? Appearances can really be deceiving.

And what’s going on? The boss has been watching them.

Could it be…

Wu Zihao’s brain raced at a thousand times the normal speed. Just as he vaguely guessed something, the boss stood up and turned to walk towards the back building.

“Huh? Huh? Not watching anymore?”

However, Shang Yufei didn’t answer his question.

After reaching the edge of the rooftop, he jumped off.

The next day, Cao Xun and his two companions arrived at Bai Yue’s room as agreed, only to find Mu Sihan there.

Cao Xun frowned slightly, about to speak, but the bearded man interrupted, “Mu Sihan, when did you arrive! We haven’t been able to contact you!”

“Last night,” Bai Yue replied, knowing Mu Sihan wouldn’t answer.

He said, “The plan has changed. Mu Sihan has discovered some clues. I’ll be working with him today, so you can proceed according to yesterday’s plan.”

Xu Chengdong and the bearded man nodded without objection.

Cao Xun wanted to ask something, but after glancing at Bai Yue, he remained silent.

After the three left, Bai Yue and Mu Sihan also left the hotel.

To avoid attracting attention, they changed into casual clothes and covered their heads like ordinary passersby.

Bai Yue followed Mu Sihan, winding their way through the streets. Soon they were far from the bustling city center, arriving at a narrow, dark alley.

If K City appeared desolate, dilapidated, and lifeless on the surface, this place held a hidden paradise.

The street was lined with vendors selling all sorts of strange and unusual trinkets. Almost all the passersby were alphas and betas.

Although Bai Yue had heard a brief account from Mu Sihan yesterday, seeing it with his own eyes today still left him somewhat astonished.

It was the first time he’d ever seen such a… suspicious-looking place.

Mu Sihan’s claim of having lived in such a place seemed unbelievable to Bai Yue.

He’d initially guessed a military family, but that was dismissed. Then he thought perhaps, like him, from an ordinary, well-off family.

He never imagined it would be such a dangerous place.

However, if Mu Sihan had honed his skills here, it seemed plausible.

“It’s that person,” Mu Sihan whispered beside him.

Bai Yue snapped out of his reverie and followed the gaze. He saw a bald man standing among the crowd. Despite the overcast sky, he was wearing sunglasses. As if afraid of being followed, he glanced back with every step.

Bai Yue: “This is the intelligence agency you were talking about?”

It’s not quite what he imagined; he thought people with this kind of background would be more powerful.

Mu Sihan nodded slightly and stepped forward: “Follow me.”

Bai Yue didn’t say anything more.

According to Mu Sihan, after finding the intelligence agency yesterday, he originally intended to ask about the Source Crystal. However, after hearing this, the agency made an excuse and slipped away through the back door.

He waited for a while, then was ambushed by several people who suddenly broke in, and it took some effort to kill them.

Bai Yue didn’t ask what “killed” meant.

In short, although Mu Sihan knew who the group that ambushed him was, he didn’t know where their leader was. Therefore, he still had to catch this “intelligence agency” and interrogate them for clues.

However, after hearing this, Bai Yue was even more certain of his guess yesterday.

Sure enough, there was an unknown force that wanted to monopolize the Source Crystal’s huge cake.

At this moment, the bald man suddenly sped up and went around into another alley.

Mu Sihan paused: “I’ll go around and block him, you keep chasing.”

Bai Yue nodded.

After they parted ways, Bai Yue continued along the same path. But as soon as he stepped into the alley, he bumped into several burly men.

These men were incredibly strong, the strongest being easily two meters tall.

Bai Yue apologized and tried to walk around them. However, one of the men wouldn’t let it go, instead stepping forward to block his way: “You bumped into someone, and you think you can just apologize and leave?

“This isn’t the time to waste time.”

Bai Yue looked up, his gaze passing over the man’s shoulder, trying to find the bald man. He saw the man hiding in the shadows, peering in cautiously.

So that’s it.

“Oh, you can glare?” one of the men teased. “You’re so short, you’re not an omega, are you?”

Another man laughed and added, “Of course not, he’s not stupid. What omega would come to a place like this?”

As he spoke, he reached out, as if to pull off his headscarf.

Bai Yue dodged backward, grabbed the man’s arm, and twisted it sharply to the side.

With a heart-wrenching scream, the man fell to the ground.

Everyone was stunned. Everyone underestimated the person before them, never expecting him to move so swiftly.

Realizing what was happening, the leader swung his arm: “Attack!”

The crowd surged forward.

Moments later, a series of cracking sounds followed, and everyone fell to the ground. Only one person remained standing.

Bai Yue nimbly stepped over the group and walked forward.

The bald man, cowering in the shadows, watched the scene unfold. When he saw his bodyguards being so easily killed, he froze in place.

Before he could react, the man stood before him. His head was wrapped in a turban, revealing only a pair of light gray eyes.

He smiled slightly: “Are they your men?”

His voice was gentle and pleasant, but to the bald man, it sounded like a curse.

He snapped out of his daze and turned to run.

He hadn’t run far before he stopped. As a dark figure leaped down and approached him.

The bald man looked back, then forward. His path was blocked in front of him and behind him; there was no way to escape.

His legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground.

Mu Sihan’s voice was icy: “Lead the way. Where is Su Cheng?”
