On the day the Light Domain Barrier was dispelled, all residents of the Light Domain were notified.
If the Papacy had announced this news a year or even months in advance, the kings and heads of state of the various principalities might have considered how to use this event to gain the greatest political advantage. But with only a week, they didn’t even have enough time to relay the message of protest. Although the new pope declared that any king who was unwilling could be parachuted in for a face-to-face meeting, no king was willing to face the possessor of the Papacy’s strongest divine power.
Many kings even believed this was a blatant threat from the Papacy: the Papacy meant that the Pope had the ability to appear anywhere in the Light Domain, and unless they could withstand the Pope’s combined power and glory, they had better cooperate with the Papacy!
They had been wondering why the new pope was so generous in relinquishing the rights of the papacy, and were secretly pleased that the papacy had a weak and easy-going pope after the powerful St. Gregory III, which they saw as a good opportunity for the rise of the principality’s interests… But the new pope was so willing because he wanted to give up small benefits while quietly removing the light domain barrier!
Regardless of their thoughts, the revocation of the Light Domain Barrier was a done deal. In order to prevent unrest in their respective countries, those in power could only grit their teeth and cooperate with the Holy See in its propaganda efforts among the people.
What they didn’t know was that the Vatican had only known about this a day earlier than them. If the Scepter of Glory hadn’t been still in His Holiness the Pope’s hands, they would have even suspected that His Holiness the Pope was possessed by a demon.
Even with the combined efforts of the Holy See and the King, the impending disappearance of the barrier that had protected the Light Domain for thousands of years inevitably caused panic among the people.
When that day arrived, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked up at the sky.
It wasn’t that someone had informed them of the specific time; rather, it was because at that instant, the sky suddenly darkened, and the sun, which always hung high in the sky, was shrouded in shadow as if it had been eroded by something.
About ten minutes later, the sun shone again, but the color of the entire sky began to fade slowly around the sun, like watercolor on a glass splashed with water. The azure paint slowly flowed down the glass, revealing the crimson background behind it.
The sky was red.
….
The Eternal Fence circled around Luo Mi like a puppy, but Luo Mi had no interest in teasing it.
He also looked up at the sky after the light barrier disappeared, which was almost identical to the Demon Realm— the only difference was that the sky seen from the ground was not as vibrant as in the Demon Realm under the sunlight.
Even so, the crimson sky was frightening enough… Luo Mi sighed softly to himself.
Luo Mi had actually anticipated this.
After all, everything in the Light Domain was shrouded in the Light Domain barrier, but the Demon Domain was not; the sky in the Demon Domain was thus the true color of this world.
He touched the eternal fence, quietly feeling the authority of the seraphim.
Soon, Luo Mi noticed a special holy fire blooming in a corner of the world, and leaped over there with the Eternal Fence.
….
After leaping out of the flames, Luo Mi unsurprisingly arrived at the dilapidated town where the Ark was located.
The Holy Son Anos tossed aside the burning feather, smiled, and nodded at him.
Luo Mi nodded back to him and walked into the church.
The phantom of the God’s Heart appeared and immediately saw the Eternal Fence that was almost clinging to Luo Mi. A strange emotion appeared in its silver eyes: “It’s too close to you.”
“Jealous?” Luo Mi couldn’t help but chuckle, pulling the Eternal Fence off himself and taking out the Book of the Lamb, which he had previously smuggled from the Holy See, from his robes. “Both artifacts are now complete.”
Luo Mi still needed the Scepter of Glory for a while, and the Ark didn’t have an urgent need for it, so they planned to integrate the Scepter of Glory into the Ark at the very end.
Without the God’s Heart making any move, the two artifacts were seen floating together toward the oval ark hanging on the wall.
God’s Heart’s brows relaxed: “Thank you.”
Luo Mi waved his hand and asked, “How’s the real dream going?”
“Much faster,” God’s Heart said briefly. “Lord Zixiang is working very hard. With the Book of the Lamb, it will be even faster.”
Luo Mi breathed a sigh of relief: “That’s good.”
He glanced at the Holy Son Anos who had entered, and suddenly asked with some curiosity, “Where is the Blackwing lord?”
The God’s Heart pointed at the Ark: “Inside.”
Luo Mi was immediately surprised: “When did this happen?”
“After all the chosen ones had been recovered,” Saint Anos replied, his beautiful, sky-blue eyes fixed on Luo Mi. As if thinking of something, he suddenly curved his lips into a smile, “I think he might be a little sulky.”
Sulking? Luo Mi was somewhat confused.
But he quickly recalled the complex emotions he felt when the two Anos, the Holy Son and the Demon, were in a state of fusion during his last confession, and suddenly understood something.
As for the Holy Son, he had approached him with ulterior motives and had already been used by the demon to mock him once. Now that he had learned of the new situation, it was not as unbearable as the first time. On the other hand, the demon Anos was more affected. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and the angrier he became, the less he wanted to see him.
Seeing the reappearance of guilt on Luo Mi’s face, the Holy Son Anos reached out and patted his head: “He’s not angry, he’s ashamed… Don’t worry about him, he’s definitely regretting it now.”
The God’s Heart nodded silently, expressing its agreement.
Luo Mi let himself feel the warmth of the Holy Son’s hand, and after a while he took a deep breath: “I should go back.”
The Vatican had too many things that required his attention right now.
Saint Anos looked at him quietly, then suddenly said, “I’ll go back with you.”
Luo Mi paused for a moment: “It’s possible…”
He believed that since the beginning of his fall, Anos had no desire to return to the Holy City.
His Highness, who had grown up in the holy city of Bethlehem, smiled and said, “After experiencing all this, I’ve realized that many of the things I used to worry about are insignificant. What’s most important is being able to work together to get through the end times. I have some understanding of the Holy See, so I’m sure I can be of help.”
Luo Mi thought about it seriously and nodded: “Okay, anyone who dares to talk nonsense about you, I’ll beat them to a pulp!”
Anos couldn’t help but chuckle, and naturally took Luo Mi’s hand, saying gently, “I have completely lost my divine magic now, and I can only rely on you.”
The two people were surrounded by the sacred flame and quickly disappeared from the spot.
The phantom of the God’s Heart still floated there, only slightly raising an eyebrow.
Another shadow suddenly appeared beside him; it was none other than Blackwing, the demon with crimson eyes.
The demon Anos said sourly, “That bast**d really knows how to play the innocent.”
They were clearly in a state of soul fusion at the time, and the shock and inner turmoil they experienced were intertwined. Yet this hypocritical Holy Prince turned around and started playing the role of a caring older brother!
If the demon Anos had witnessed the memories of Luo Mi from Earth, he would definitely call him a green tea b*tch.
The God’s Heart glanced at him: “Your influence.”
The demon Anos snorted: “You are the original form, and our personalities are all your fault.”
God’s Heart curled his lips: “I can possess his body and get close to Luo Mi at any time.”
“…What do you mean, showing off?”
The God’s Heart glanced at him with its silvery-white eyes and smiled, “If you work hard, I can teach you.”
Demon Anos: “…”
….
Luo Mi led Anos back to the Holy City in a very open and generous manner.
The College of Cardinals was shocked.
As shrewd individuals in the upper echelons of the Vatican, they might not be devout in their faith, but they were never lacking in cunning and insight. Although the new pope bore some resemblance to the previous Holy Son, he was clearly not that person. However, for the sake of the Vatican’s reputation, the cardinals tacitly chose to ignore it.
Now, His Highness the real Holy Son had actually been brought back by His Holiness the Pope!
Isn’t His Holiness the Pope worried that his Son will compete with him for power?
Even though the wings of the Holy Son have fallen, he is still an angel!
Several cardinals who considered themselves Luo Mi’s confidants were sweating profusely, wishing they could give Luo Mi a hundred meaningful glances; when they heard His Holiness the Pope declare the return of the Holy Son and that his status and power were equal to that of the Pope, they felt a wave of dizziness.
—Your Majesty, you have been bewitched by this fallen angel!
Luo Mi didn’t care what they were thinking. Anyway, the end of the world was coming soon, so he simply conjured up an identical papal throne and had Anos sit next to it.
Anos calmly walked up and sat down, his movements as calm and elegant as ever, leaving many cardinals below feeling somewhat dazed.
Luo Mi turned to Anos and whispered, “How are you feeling?”
Anos turned his head slightly, a hint of amusement in his voice: “It’s a little strange, but it’s alright with you here.”
Luo Mi raised an eyebrow, first dealing with the affairs of the Holy See, and ignoring the cardinals’ open and covert opposition, leaving many things to Anos.
After the cardinals left, looking disappointed, Anos asked with a hint of melancholy, “Was this how they used to see you?”
Luo Mi tilted his head: “No, they all ignored me before.”
Anos patted his head: “Back then, I was always worried about whether I could be a good pope. Now it just seems kind of funny— well, no, that’s not what I mean… I mean, sitting next to you now, helping you with these things, gives me a sense of security.”
No matter how their status or position changed, they always stayed together.
Luo Mi paused for a moment, awkwardly scratched his ear to hide his blush, and muttered, “But this position should have been yours.”
He didn’t think he was any more powerful just because he was elevated to the position of angel or pope.
Anos smiled and shook his head: “In the Duchy of Tri… well, it’s the home of Reinhardt. The king and queen attended court together and were of equal status. There were two thrones in the main hall, just like ours.”
Luo Mi understood Anos’s hidden words of love, and his face couldn’t help but blush again. Then he realized something was wrong: “You know Reinhardt’s identity?”
Anos nodded: “We just haven’t found him yet, and we don’t know where he went.”
Luo Mi waved his hand: “Once the God’s Heart takes all of humanity to the Ark, you can go to the Real Dream to find him.”
Anos smiled and said, “Yes. Before you came into my life, Reinhardt was my only friend.”
He reached out and gently grasped Luo Mi’s hand, stroking it lightly a few times.
Being around the Holy Son always brought a sweet, pure feeling, completely different from the lewd and violent atmosphere of the demon… Luo Mi had just sighed inwardly when he heard Anos say, “I heard you and the God’s Heart did something here?”
Luo Mi: “…Who told you that?”
“I saw it in his memory.” Anos raised his head, his eyes, as blue and clear as the sky, filled with a pure and clean desire. “I want to try it too.”
