Although the Rose Lord admitted to wanting to turn Luo Mi into a vampire, he did not actually do it.

Instead he maintained his usual polite and elegant demeanor: “Don’t worry, I won’t lay a hand on you unless Black Wing has been dealt with. On one hand, I might not be able to capture you alive, and on the other hand, I don’t want to become enemies with Black Wing completely.”

Luo Mi did not lower his guard because of this: “How much do you know about the apocalypse?”

The Rose Lord immediately laughed: “Won’t the apocalypse be brought about by the God of the Holy See? How would a vampire like me know?”

Luo Mi considered the veracity of his words: “I thought a Demon Lord would know more details.”

The Rose Lord said meaningfully, “I’m afraid only Black Wing and Lone Shadow know a little about that.”

Anos was an angel, so of course he would know. But why would the mysterious, missing Shadow Lord also know?

Suddenly, an idea popped into Luo Mi’s mind: Could it be that the Rose Lord was hinting that he should investigate the Lone Shadow Lord?

Before he could ask for more details, the Rose Lord suddenly looked up into the distance, his tone a mixture of surprise and regret: “So soon… I’m so sorry, I have to go.”

Luo Mi blinked: “What’s the rush? We hit it off immediately, and I’d like to chat with you a little longer.”

He spread his pure white angel wings, and the power of holy light entangled the blood-soaked birdcage that trapped him.

The Rose Lord bowed gracefully: “I am also very sorry, but if I don’t hurry over, Red Horn will die at the hands of Black Wing. It’s not easy to find such an easy-to-deceive teammate, so I have to apologize.”

The entire blood-red birdcage suddenly transformed into a large swarm of tiny bats. Luo Mi captured some of them with her holy light, while the rest vanished without a trace.

Luo Mi wasn’t too disappointed. He flapped his wings and flew back the way he came and soon saw the enormous red dragon.

Compared to its initial swagger, the red dragon now lay helplessly on the ground. One of its bright red horns had been cut off, and its two wings were pinned to the ground by two spears, one black and one white, preventing it from moving. Large amounts of dragon blood flowed out, flooding the ground.

Anos stood atop the dragon’s head, one hand gripping the severed horn, the other raised, the longsword in his hand gleaming with a sharp, cold light.

His robes were spotless, his light golden hair fluttered in the wind, and his wings spread out proudly behind him, appearing both magnificent and alluring against the backdrop of the blood-red sky and the pool of blood.

Luo Mi was completely stunned.

The fallen angel, standing on a dying dragon, perfectly embodied a bloody romance hero!

—No, this is not the time to indulge in beauty… Luo Mi shook his head and quickly flew forward.

Before Luo Mi could get close, the entire red dragon was suddenly stained with the color of blood, which then dissolved into dragon blood, like a sugar cube falling into coffee.

Anos paid no attention and did not even give chase. Instead, he turned his head and looked at the angel flying towards him.

The moment their eyes met, the coldness he had displayed when slaying the dragon crumbled, replaced by a gentle smile.

Luo Mi swayed in the air for a moment before landing in front of Anos, staring blankly at Anos’s heterochromatic eyes, one red and one blue: “Anos? You fused?”

Anos shook his head: “No, it’s just using magic to temporarily share a body for easier combat.”

He naturally reached out his left arm, wrapped it around Luo Mi’s waist, and lifted him up.

Luo Mi was once again surrounded by that faint aura unique to Anos, and couldn’t help but blush: “W-what are you doing?”

For some reason, he felt that the merged Anos had an overly obvious sense of aggression, something he had never felt with the black and white Anos in the past.

Anos’s chest heaved a few times, and he let out a low laugh: “Let’s travel as much as possible before the magic time is over.”

His wings stretched out on his back, each feather standing upright, each one imbued with magical or divine power.

Then the two figures disappeared without a trace.

….

In the hidden ancient castle, the red dragon lay on the ground panting, its wounds covered by a blood-red light, as the wounds slowly healed.

“Tap, tap, tap.”

Rhythmic footsteps came from the doorway, and the weakened red dragon opened its vertical pupils, staring at the doorway.

A handsome, gentle man pushed open the door and entered, meeting those dragon-like eyes. He smiled without surprise: “How are your injuries?”

“I’ll need a long period of recovery,” the dragon replied gruffly. “But a piece of my horn has been cut off— it’s irreparable! You must pay the price for it!”

The man took the red rose hanging from his chest and threw it at the dragon.

The dragon opened its mouth and swallowed the rose whole: “Not enough!”

“Don’t be too greedy.” The Rose Lord touched his collar. “The reward I gave you already includes compensation for the damage. This is an extra gift for you out of consideration for our friendship.”

The dragon muttered, “I think I’ve been fooled! Black Wing will definitely come after us!”

“He might hunt me down, but if you just bow down and worship, he won’t mind having another mount. If he survives the apocalypse, he’ll naturally take you with him.”

The dragon showed no anger, unlike the rumors that it was irritable. Instead, it seriously considered whether such a choice was feasible.

After a moment, the dragon looked at the Rose Lord: “It sounds like you’ve lost out… Should I compensate you?”

“…” The Rose Lord showed a strange expression but quickly returned to a normal smile. “Remember this, and don’t refuse when I ask for your help in the future.”

The dragon agreed.

Seeing the vampire preparing to leave, the dragon couldn’t help but ask, “Why did you risk becoming an enemy of Black Wing? In the end, you haven’t gained anything.”

“It would be best to achieve the best result, but we won’t force it if we don’t.” The vampire wasn’t disappointed. “At least we got this, so it’s not a complete loss.”

He now held a pure white feather in his hand.

The dragon looked at the feather with confusion: “That’s the Pope’s? What’s it for?”

“It will allow me to pass through the barrier.” The vampire did not hide his destination. “The path on the Black Wing side is blocked, so I have to take another path.”

The dragon was stunned: “You’re going to escape to the Light Domain? You’re abandoning the bloodline in your territory?”

The Rose Lord smiled and touched the corner of his lips: “They’re all here.”

“…” The dragon was speechless for a long time before finally saying, “You’re really crazy.”

The Rose Lord shook his head dismissively: “We will have to take risks to find a way to survive the apocalypse… Red Horn, since we’re still on the same side, you’d better use your brain. This apocalypse can’t be survived by a dragon’s body alone. Even Zixiang created a real dream to protect herself from the apocalypse. You can’t just do nothing.”

“Why am I here if I’m not doing anything?” Sulfur spewed from the dragon’s nostrils as it roared in frustration. “I’m not good with my brain!”

The Rose Lord gave the Red Horn Lord a deep look: “This castle has been set up with enough concealment magic, but I’m not sure how long I can hide it from Black Wing. You should leave after you’ve finished healing.”

“I hope we can meet again.”
