It took Luo Mi a while to remember: Wasn’t this the little boy Chosen One whom he rescued when he first traveled here?

John witnessed with his own eyes the process of him and the villagers setting up the magic circle. After being caught by the Son of God, Luo Mi managed to get away with it by saying that he was controlled by an unknown big devil at the time. After that, John followed the other Silver Knights to the Holy City, while Luo Mi went to investigate the Witch Trial with Anos.

He didn’t know why Anos defined John as his friend… but Luo Mi laughed dryly: “Actually, John and I are not very familiar with each other.”

Anos smiled and said, “I heard from Luke that John is working very hard in the monastery, his academic performance is very good, and he has already started studying the sacred texts.”

Luo Mi said dryly: “For John, this may be his only chance to escape poverty, of course he will do his best to seize it.”

Anos’s expression softened a lot: “Yes. Lian, I always knew you had a gentle heart.”

Luo Mi didn’t quite understand what kind of image he had in Anos’ mind.

The result was that he and Anos went to St. Peter’s Monastery together.

On the way, Anos introduced: “This monastery inherited the name of Saint Peter, a saint who was favored by God. Most clergy have to practice in Saint Peter’s Monastery for a period of time, especially those in important positions.”

Luo Mi asked: “You too?”

Anos nodded: “I have lived in the monastery since I was a child and only moved to the Palace of the Holy Angel a few years ago.”

The exterior of St. Peter’s Monastery was not very gorgeous. It looked quaint and even a bit crude among the Gothic churches. However, the monks and apprentices coming in and out had different expressions from the calm or holy priests in the church. Their faces were full of anxiety.

Luo Mi saw a 17 or 18-year-old nun carrying a pile of books rushing through the crowd and almost bumping into him. He couldn’t help but worry: “What happened?”

Anos’ expression was normal: “They are always like this. Let’s go find John.”

Luo Mi muttered silently: Shouldn’t a monastery have a solemn, depressing and heavy environment?

….

Only after meeting John did Luo Mi get to know the reason.

After not seeing him for a few months, John had grown a lot taller, his hair was no longer as dry as before, his face was rosy, and his voice had a bit of the hoarseness of a teenager in his puberty period.

Luo Mi was a little worried that the kid might let his affairs slip and cause him to be suspected, but John seemed to have completely forgotten about it.

John was very happy to see them, and he seemed to admire Anos, the Holy Son who saved him, but he was also struggling: “Your Highness, I, I really want to listen to your teachings, but I have an exam tomorrow and I still have to review…”

Luo Mi asked in surprise: “Exam? What is the exam?”

John counted on his fingers and said, “Bible reading and interpretation, numerology, imperial writing, introduction to sacred texts, optical path design and application, array drawing and measurement…”

Luo Mi felt dizzy after hearing this.

If the first few things were normal, then were the latter ones something that John, a kid in his early teens, should learn?

John said with a bitter face: “The academic subjects are fine, but I will probably fail the physical fitness class…”

There was also physical education class… Luo Mi’s mouth twitched, and he looked at the child with sympathy: “Thank you for your hard work.”

No wonder the people in the monastery looked anxious or terrified. With so much academic pressure, it would be strange if they were not anxious!

Anos couldn’t help but laugh: “In fact, if you fail, you won’t be expelled from the monastery, and there will be no corporal punishment. You just need to receive remedial lessons from the bishops.”

John nodded and scratched his messy hair: “But this will make my limited personal time even less.”

Luo Mi exclaimed in amazement: “I don’t even know if sending you to the Holy City is heaven or hell.”

John was a little embarrassed: “No, I like the monastery very much. I can learn a lot here. The bishop said that after graduation, I can stay in the Holy City and enter the Vatican.”

Luo Mi made a rough estimate and felt that St. Peter’s Monastery was probably equivalent to the number one university in a capital city of a country on Earth.

Anos smiled and praised: “It shows that you work very hard.”

John blushed: “Thank you for the compliment, Your Highness… But, I, I don’t really want to enter the Vatican.”

Anos was surprised: “Why?”

John’s face turned even redder, and he scratched his head and said, “The bishop said that senior clergy cannot get married… I, I…”

Luo Mi was amused: “How old are you to have a crush on someone? Have you ever considered that it’s not that easy to become a high-ranking clergyman?”

John blushed and lowered his head, hesitatingly saying: “I know, but…”

Anos smiled and said, “The Vatican has many positions and cooperative groups with no restrictions. As long as your graduation grades are good enough, you can go wherever you want.”

Just as Anos was about to say goodbye, a silver knight ran over from outside and said, “Your Highness, Brother Maguli wants to see you.”

Anos’s expression became more serious. He agreed before looking at Luo Mi: “Lian, wait here first.”

Luo Mi nodded obediently.

After Anos left, Luo Mi asked John, “Who is Brother Maguli?”

“The vice-abbot of the monastery.” John answered as he opened his Bible and took out his notebook. “But he said he was an ascetic monk and didn’t like worldly titles, so he asked everyone to call him monk.”

He stared at the headache-inducing square characters, took a deep breath, and began to copy.

Seeing that John had already started reviewing, Luo Mi remembered the atmosphere of studying late into the night when he was in high school and was sensible enough not to disturb him.

It’s just that John’s place was too boring, and there were only some books from the Vatican to read. Out of boredom, Luo Mi walked to John and watched him review – John happened to be reviewing the sacred texts.

As he watched, Luo Mi couldn’t help but point out: “This stroke is written wrong.”

John exclaimed, “Ah!” and after careful observation, he suddenly realized, “I’m really wrong.”

As he corrected it, he looked at Luo Mi in surprise, “Your holy writing is so good?”

Of course, this is my mother tongue. Luo Mi pretended to be serious and said, “Because I work very hard and stay up every night to study.”

John believed it and looked at Luo Mi with admiration: “I fall asleep immediately when I lie down on the bed at night… Then I will try to stay up late to study from today.”

Luo Mi’s mouth stiffened: “Well, that’s not necessary. I have extraordinary talents, and children don’t want to learn – so, I will give you some lessons.”

….

When Anos came back, his expression was a little solemn, but after meeting Luo Mi’s eyes, he relaxed: “Let’s go.”

Luo Mi said goodbye to John, who had been cram-teaching him a lot of holy texts, and ran to Anos: “Did something bad happen?”

Anos smiled and said, “No, Brother Maguli is my teacher. He always checks my knowledge and physical progress every time I come.”

A teacher who kept students taking exams after they graduate? Luo Mi was shocked: “Were your grades not good before?”

“Except for the Divine Arts Practice Class, I got full marks in all other subjects.” Anos did not show a satisfied look, but sighed softly, “But the Divine Arts Practice Class barely passed. Brother Maguli asked me to come over to test whether I have worked hard during this period.”

“What’s the result?”

Anos shook his head slightly: “I was scolded.”

Luo Mi showed a sympathetic look.

Anos rubbed his forehead lightly with his fingers and smiled bitterly: “I don’t know why. Logically, as an angel created by God, magic for me should be as simple as instinct. I can even create magic at will. But I can hardly use any magic… It’s like I am incomplete now.”

Anos’s casual metaphor made Luo Mi’s heart skip a beat and he had an association: Maybe the reason why Anos couldn’t use magic was because he had another personality?

He remembered that when the angel came, the evil Anos, who was attracted by the feather, appeared once.

Luo Mi asked: “Didn’t you create ‘Angel Advent’?”

Anos showed a hint of hesitation on his face: “I suddenly learned this magic after I woke up one day. It seems more like it was given to me by God than something I created.”

Luo Mi was now 70% sure that the magic “Angel’s Descend” was created by Anos’ evil personality, and for some reason, the kind version of Anos learned it.

As for the reason, Luo Mi tentatively speculated that this was the reason why the other party would appear.

Thinking of this, Luo Mi was looking forward to the blood moon in a few days, hoping to have a friendly and harmonious meeting with the other party.

….

Anos came to St. Peter’s Monastery not only to let Luo Mi meet John, but also to do penance and pray.

In the general sense, asceticism referred to dieting, meditation, prayer, reading scriptures, etc., but Anos’s asceticism also included physical training, consumption of holy light, etc. Therefore, when Anos invited Luo Mi to join him, Luo Mi declined.

He was outside the ascetic room, watching through the glass as Anos took off his shirt, wearing only a pair of knee-length shorts, and walked to the center of the arena covered by a magic circle.

The divine magic array here could enhance gravity and seal the holy light, thereby achieving better results.

Most ascetics would sit alone and endure in such an environment, but Anos had to train – standing opposite him were three stone men made of chalk, with divine patterns faintly visible on their bodies.

Under the influence of the magic circle, Anos’ muscles trembled slightly every time he took a step. After dodging a few attacks from the stone men, sweat began to seep out of his forehead, wetting his light blond hair.

His azure eyes were extremely calm, and he stared at the sparring stone men expressionlessly. He quickly jumped up and smashed at them hard!

Watching Anos showing his fierce and wild side without hesitation, Luo Mi suddenly felt his throat a little dry.

“Isn’t it a bit hot here…” Luo Mi muttered, and was about to go find something to drink when someone next to him handed him an exquisite glass water bottle with light green liquid gently shaking in the bottle.

“Uh, thank you…” Luo Mi subconsciously said thank you, and looked up to see a young man beside him.

He was quite handsome, with neatly combed light blond hair, gentle lake-green eyes, and a dark blue suit with gold embroidery. The collar and cuffs were sewn with pure white silk flowers, and he wore clean white half gloves. His straight trousers were tucked into sturdy deerskin boots at the calves. He gave off a noble vibe, which was out of place with the atmosphere in the monastery.

Although this man had a good appearance, Luo Mi, who had been watching Anos for a long time, was basically immune to this. He asked with some caution and politeness: “May I know who you are?”

The young man smiled gracefully and said in an approachable manner: “My name is Pearl Pelant, nice to meet you.”

This name sounded familiar… Luo Mi thought about it and then remembered: Isn’t this the second prince of the empire mentioned by Bishop Thomas before?
