Although I don’t cook much myself… Next time, I’ll look for some fish… I think Mia Alice would be happy. Or maybe I’ll change things up a bit and have dessert straight away…

Hmm, something good… That’s it! How about that one!? “Ting!” I said, and headed towards a certain corner.

After selecting the ingredients, I ordered Yuhi Beer Ultra Dry.

I bought a six-pack of 500ml cans. I also wanted to buy some wine.

I couldn’t carry it all, so I went to leave it at home.

Come to think of it, I didn’t have any tableware either, so I headed back to the supermarket and bought some at the 100-yen shop on the second floor. I bought 12 sets, including spares, in case I dropped them and got them dirty. That’s a dozen.

At that time, I found the spork I used in elementary and junior high school lunches. It brought back memories. Huh? But this is so convenient.

With just one of these, you don’t need a fork and a spoon, as they serve two purposes. I think I’ll have them use this tonight.

I’ll buy a knife just in case since I’ll be bringing hamburger steaks… And don’t forget the picnic blanket. If I put my butt directly on the ground, I’ll get it dirty.

I bought some paper napkins and wet tissues to wipe our mouth and hands, then went down to the first floor and put the alcoholic drinks I hadn’t bought earlier because I couldn’t carry them all in my basket. I also bought juice and green tea for Wozma’s daughter, who is still young, and for those who can’t drink alcohol. Incidentally, there was a small amount of bread on sale at half price at this time of day, so I didn’t forget to buy that too.

I returned home and checked what I had bought. It seemed like there was nothing I hadn’t bought. The refrigerator contained alcoholic beverages and other items that needed to be kept chilled.

On the other hand, I put items that can be stored at room temperature in the closet so I can take them out quickly. I found the cardboard boxes I got from the supermarket to be very useful. I just threw the items in there.

I looked at the clock and saw it was already 4:30, the sun was about to set, so I headed towards the back of the closet.

When I returned to the other world, the town was completely dyed orange. Luckily, there was no one around, so I headed to Maon’s house with my backpack and a cardboard box. There, I found Maon sitting with the barn door open.

“I’m back, Maon-san.”

I told Maon that I had returned.

….

According to Maon, Najina had gone to call Mia Alice and the old man from the general store about an hour ago (about two hours ago).

“The great sword master fixed it so that it could be used for simple cooking.”

Looking closely, the area around the collapsed hearth had certainly been cleaned up.

The charred remains of the pillars were gathered in one place, and the others were placed a short distance away. The large, conspicuous stones on the ground of the site had also been piled up in a small pile elsewhere.

“Maon-san, can I have a fire?”

“Yes, that’s fine. You can use the charcoal pillar. You can’t just sit around and do nothing at a time like this. No matter who you are, as long as you’re alive, tomorrow will come. Use what you have at the time and do what you can, and don’t worry about it. It’ll be fine, Genta.”

“Maon-san…”

“Now, let’s light the fire. Leave it to me, it’s something I’ve been doing every day up until this age.”

“I understand. Then I’ll borrow the well and go get some water.”

I took out a large stockpot from the cardboard box. It was so big that it didn’t seem like it would fit in a man’s house. However, it supported my diet in February and March.

After the end of the school year exams in January, the exam season will begin in February. During that time, I, a current student, don’t need to go to school.

Some people are doing so.

As for me, I would either work part-time, go shopping at the station, or occasionally go into Tokyo, but otherwise I would stay at home.

I used this large pot to make hot pot using vegetables that I had received from my parents’ house.

Among those, I would have oden[1] at least once every ten days. At convenience stores, one daikon radish costs 80 yen… I looked closely at the ingredients for oden, which can be cut into six or seven slices from one daikon radish.

I remember eating oden at home and noticing the price difference between it and the products at my part-time job…

I filled a pot with water from the well and headed towards the hearth. Maon was starting the fire, and it seemed that the dry grass and twigs had caught fire, so she started adding charcoal.

“What a fine pot. I’ve never seen such a well-organized pot before.”

She muttered as she looked at the stockpot that he had brought from the room where he had set up the table.

“It’s a pot that has shared the good times and the bad with me and gotten me through the winter.”

“It’s an important pot.”

Once the water boils, pour the hamburger steak over it…I’ve already brought the bread, so once the hamburger steak is done cooking, I’ll remove the pot from the heat.

Once everyone we invited had arrived, we would switch to grilling fish and toast bread. My watch showed it was almost five o’clock, and Maon predicted that everyone would arrive in about 30 minutes.

It’s a charcoal fire, so I wonder if the water will boil by then…?

Maon-san noticed that he looked a little worried.

He must have noticed.

“It’s fine. This blade was put together by the dwarves. They seem to have put some effort into it, so it has a lot more firepower than it looks.” Maon explains.

“That’s right, we still have 30 minutes! Until then, we have other preparations to make. Together with Maon, we’ve laid out some thermal sheets we bought at the 100-yen shop on the ground, because the ground gets cold quickly once the sun goes down…”

I laid a picnic sheet on top of it and placed a stone in the corner to stop it blowing away in the wind. It’s about the size of 12 tatami mats, so I think there should be enough space for a total of 10 people to sit.

Then I pretended to go to the well, returned to my room, and took out the food from the refrigerator. Then the dishes. I washed a large metal bowl, put two one-kilogram packs of macaroni salad in it, and covered it with plastic wrap. I then added a ladle to the bowl.

Next up is the tableware that everyone will be using. Actually, it would be a pain to prepare so many plates, so I bought one big round thing. It’s not a simple flat plate but has dividers on the surface. How can I put it? It’s the kind of plate that could be used for school lunches. Everyone can put the hamburger steak in the larger section and the self-serve portioned macaroni salad in the smaller section.

The dishes are ready, the tray is fine, the spork is OK, the cups are fine, and while I’m doing this, the water boils without any problems, so I pour some of the water into a small pot.

“Hey there! Sorry to have kept you waiting!”

The old man from the general store and Najina, carrying Mia Alice, appear, followed by Wozma and his family.

“Thank you for inviting us today, Genta. I’ll be visiting with my family.”

“It’s nice to meet you both. I’m Natalia, Wozma’s wife, and this is my daughter, Alice. Thank you for taking care of my husband and for inviting me tonight.”

Natalia, who could only be described as beautiful, greeted me politely. But, between Wozma and Natalia… I wonder what a beautiful couple there really are…

Then Natalia brought forth a girl she called Alice. She was about five or six years old, and perhaps due to the influence of their genes, she was sure to become a beautiful woman when she grew up.

“…Good evening.”

After saying that, she immediately hid behind Natalia, probably out of embarrassment.

“Good evening, it’s Maon. Nice to meet you.”

“I’m Genta. Nice to meet you.”

I guided everyone to the picnic blankets and had them sit down. I then put the hamburger steaks into the boiling pot.

“Now we just have to wait for Sylphy and the others to arrive.”

“Yeah, they’ll probably come after the guild closes.”

“They seemed very happy when I told them. Haha, Genta. They have high hopes for you.”

Najina and Wozma responded.

“I hope it suits your palate…”

“I’m sure it’ll be fine, Genta, because he makes those jam buns and egg sandwiches.”

Mia Alice also gives her stamp of approval, saying it’s fine. Actually, I didn’t actually make it myself. I just bought it from left to right and sold it…

“‘Anpan’…?”

At that moment, Alice seemed interested and looked up at Mr. Wozma’s face.

“That’s right, Alice. Genta made the sweet and delicious bread yesterday.”

Mr. Wozma is kind to Konoha. He’s handsome, strong, and kind… what is it with Konoha?

“Sorry to keep you waiting~”

At that moment, a voice announces their arrival. It’s Femi.

Manny and Sylphy are there too. And behind them there’s another person. …What!? Another person?

Who is it? It’s dark so I can’t really tell. It looks like a man, but I have no idea who it is… The person approaches, looking a little reserved.

“He, he’s come…”

There was the skinhead Glight, the master of the adventurer’s guild.
