At the critical moment, Gu Wuji finally pushed the young man with strange powers away, and all the anomalies in the space disappeared.

However, the previous anomalies did not end, but rather barely maintained the current situation, with the ceiling seemingly on the verge of cracking at any moment.

Gu Wuji took several steps back, even he had to catch his breath to calm his chaotic emotions before looking steadily at the other person, “Who are you?”

After being pushed away by Gu Wuji, the young man continued to look at him with that unsettlingly fanatical gaze, muttering to himself, “I am a devout believer, offering sacrifices to the gods. Only in this way can I live forever in this world…”

Undoubtedly, this young man, or rather this player, was no longer human. Strange marks appeared on most of his body, his speech and movements were somewhat stiff, and his expression was extremely gloomy. It was barely possible to see that he still had his own will.

Gu Wuji recalled those people he had seen in a certain dungeon who served evil gods for survival. However, the loyalty of those people back then didn’t have much effect, and they all ended up dying in that instance.

But the player in front of him was clearly a subordinate of a higher-level evil god. Rather than calling him a player, he was more like half a puppet of the evil god!

“I was really careless. Since he’s the boss’s puppet, he must have more power in this instance. No wonder I was able to encounter him in reality and in my dream. This is probably the power of the evil god.” Gu Wuji felt a faint pain in his forehead.

The evil god’s gaze had disappeared, and the mark on the back of his hand was no longer glowing. But Gu Wuji knew that everything was not over yet, or rather, this was a harbinger of impending danger.

Clearly, everything that happened in this space had affected the entire instance.

According to the original schedule, it would have taken at least five days to develop to that point. But because of him, the situation had changed drastically, and the casino space would probably not be able to hold on for more than three days.

He had to pass those trials before everything arrived, and one trial per night was clearly not enough.

But now, compared to these problems, Gu Wuji looked at the young man opposite him, and an idea suddenly flashed through his mind. The evil god’s mark on the other person’s body had clearly harmed his physical and mental health. Under such circumstances, could the healing ability simply remove the entire mark?

Even if it couldn’t be completely removed, as long as it resolved a part of the mark, it would mean the healing ability had this effect. Then he could just find a way to collect enough points to upgrade his healing ability!

Realizing this, Gu Wuji became extremely excited. He had finally found an ability to remove the evil god’s mark from the back of his hand! It could even help other players.

The young man, who had been staring at Gu Wuji, suddenly felt Gu Wuji’s gaze become incredibly intense, even making the young man, whose consciousness was almost no longer that of an ordinary person, feel a chill run down his spine and subconsciously take a few steps back.

Gu Wuji suddenly walked towards him, “Don’t be afraid, it’s okay, I just want to help you. Of course, this process might be a little difficult…”

“You, you…”

The young man was now almost thinking subconsciously. He felt a strong sense of danger from Gu Wuji. If this continued, something bad would definitely happen, so he suddenly turned and disappeared into the crowd.

Gu Wuji gave chase, but this was just a dream, and he couldn’t interact with anyone, so he lost track of the other person.

“They ran so fast,” Gu Wuji couldn’t help but feel disappointed. “But now that I’m awake from this dream, I’ll go to the casino and ask Senior Zhai Guangyu and Austin to help me look for him. I should find him soon.”

….

Not long ago, the atmosphere in the casino was very tense.

The candidates had all roughly figured out each other’s identities, but they didn’t confront each other directly, maintaining a semblance of politeness. After all, it wasn’t time to officially break off relations yet.

Each of them was accompanied by players who looked extraordinary; in short, they were clearly not people to be trifled with.

Only the brown-haired man and the bald bodyguard, whose two bodyguards had disappeared yesterday, huddled nervously in a corner, afraid to confront the others. The others basically didn’t take this person seriously either.

These players had noticed that the two terrifying men who raised ghosts, and the player who had arrogantly given Nelson chips yesterday, were nowhere to be seen. The answer seemed obvious… that arrogant player had probably become food for the ghost-raising man’s pets.

But the two players who had witnessed Gu Wuji’s prowess yesterday thought differently. They were a pair of brothers who looked somewhat young and resembled each other, and they publicly called themselves Fan Yi and Fan Er.

These brothers were considered neutral among the high-level players, but their strength wasn’t very high; they had barely managed to survive until today by supporting each other and acting cautiously.

After witnessing yesterday’s events, they were eager to befriend Gu Wuji, but they lacked the opportunity to do so. As for the two ghost-raising men, Fan Yi and Fan Er believed they were probably doomed. The remaining players were all of average strength, the only one who was most alarming was the burly man in the crowd who looked extremely fierce. It was rumored that he possessed extremely special abilities and had even killed many players.

Just as everyone was pondering their own thoughts, a slight sound of breaking glass suddenly came. Ordinary people wouldn’t notice it, but these high-level players, with their extremely keen senses, immediately looked towards the ceiling, where the yin energy was most concentrated.

But there wasn’t a crack, not even a speck of dirt on the ceiling; it was eerily clean.

“What’s going on…”

The next moment, a sound like cracking glass spreading echoed, accompanied by waves of intense, eerie energy surging into the casino. In that instant, many people felt faint traces of ghosts around them.

However, ordinary NPCs couldn’t see the ghosts; they just suddenly felt a chill, and many left the hall looking unwell to rest.

All the players tensed, protecting their employers, waiting for the strange events to unfold.

But then, nothing happened; everything was still eerily calm.

“Could this just be a scare tactic?”

“But according to my research, this ceiling should be the casino’s biggest seal. When it cracks, that’s when the dungeon is most dangerous, and all the ghosts inside will rampage out…”

“I thought it would happen in a few days; could it be earlier than expected?”

These experienced players quickly realized this and understood the seriousness of the situation.

Their gazes towards the others grew even more sinister. One by one, they began ruthlessly seizing chips from the casino, employing any cheating method imaginable, even if it increased the number of ghosts around them. But they had no choice.

Compared to these threats, failing to obtain more chips and pass the test was certain death.

As for the players’ employers, none dared to stop them; in fact, they were quite pleased with the situation, as increasing their own chances of becoming candidates was always a good thing.

Those with keen senses noticed the shift in the atmosphere in the hall and, not wanting to offend these seemingly intimidating individuals, immediately moved aside.

Many gamblers, oblivious to the atmosphere, were violently shoved aside. Even if they were dissatisfied, they dared not retaliate against the incredibly strong players and left the scene in frustration.

After all, even if these high-level players were weaker than the others, their stamina was astonishing compared to ordinary people… Of course, none of them had witnessed Gu Wuji’s even more monstrous stamina.

Young Master Nelson was naturally very unhappy with the violent behavior of these people. He had originally been allocated a good spot, but his competitor’s men had rudely harassed him. If he tolerated this, how could he maintain his reputation in the future?

He immediately signaled his bodyguards to take action, but these seemingly burly and reliable bodyguards were as fragile as paper to the other players, easily pushed aside.

“How could this be? Could an ordinary person possess such strength?” Cold sweat trickled down Nelson’s forehead. Knowing the truth about the casino, he immediately had a thought: “Could it be that they’re not human? Damn it, when did these guys get such terrifying helpers?”

At this rate, wouldn’t he be doomed?

Young Master Nelson felt more frustrated than he had in his decades of life. He angrily turned to go back, but suddenly saw several of his opponents’ men blocking his way.

“What do you want?” Young Master Nelson’s face was extremely grim. “If you dare lay a hand on me, even a hundred of your lives wouldn’t be enough to pay for it!”

His bodyguards were already lying on the ground, unable to get up. As for his female assistant, she was beyond help; her stamina was even worse than Young Master Nelson’s, and she could only stand trembling behind him.

“Heh, Young Master Nelson, do you think your threats will work here?” The opponent sneered. “Of course, I don’t intend to kill you. I just want to break your arms and legs so you’ll stay obediently in your room and wait for me to become your heir.”

“You!” Nelson was furious, but utterly powerless. For the first time, he realized how utterly ineffective everything he possessed was in this place. The next moment, the burly man’s fist was about to strike his face.

At this critical moment, a hand reached out from the side and blocked the blow.

Everyone around was stunned.

The disguised Gu Wuji easily deflected the punch, and with a gentle push, the burly man was sent flying several meters away as if struck by a massive impact. This was only because Gu Wuji had held back; otherwise, these people would probably have died on the spot.

Gu Wuji stood in front of Nelson, thankful he had arrived in time… although even if Nelson were beaten half to death, he had healing abilities.

He hadn’t expected that a mere nap would cause such a drastic change in the casino, resembling an accident scene. All the NPCs looked terrified, while only a few clearly players were frantically pulling chips from the machines, completely disregarding the casino’s rules.

Gu Wuji was completely oblivious to the fact that he was the cause of this situation. He then looked at the group before him, smiling warmly, and asked, “Anyone else want to make a move?”

Nelson stared blankly at Gu Wuji. Yesterday, he had never received such a gift before, and today, in his utterly disheveled state, he had never been rescued like this before.

Who was this person…?
