President Wang, bearing the humiliation, brought the lunchbox, covered with pink bubbles, to the company building.

After thinking about it, if he carried this little gadget through the lobby and walked onto the elevator in full view of everyone… his image would be completely ruined.

So unusually, Jing Xuan used his CEO privileges, parking his car in his private underground area and taking the CEO’s private elevator directly to the top floor. He rarely used this elevator, so when he came out, his secretary paused for two seconds before greeting him.

Before he had taken two steps, the secretary noticed Chu Jingxuan, dressed in a dark blue suit, holding a small, bright pink lunchbox. The color was… too conspicuous and jarring on President Wang.

Jing Xuan’s throat tightened, confirming once again that Jing Yuan had done this on purpose. On the surface, however, he glanced at his secretary with an air of nonchalance.

“It’s my sister’s.”

After saying that, he regretted it a little. What was the point of explaining such a trivial matter to his subordinates?

“Oh, Mr. Wang has a younger sister!” The secretary finally came to his senses and said with a smile, “Mr. Wang’s younger sister must be a very cute little girl.”

He not only had a younger sister, but also an older brother who loved to tease and prank his younger brother.

Jing Xuan sat down at his desk and began his new day’s work. The busy morning passed quickly, and by noon, Jing Xuan was a little hungry.

He lowered his head, opened the drawer, and in the cold, aristocratic interior, the pink cube inside stood out conspicuously. Jing Xuan placed it on the table, thought for a moment, then went to his door and locked it before feeling relieved.

Opening the pink lunchbox, he found it filled with his favorite foods. Even though they were both adults and had been apart for so long, Jing Yuan still remembered clearly what he didn’t like to eat.

Snort.

He then finished his delicious lunch in a humiliating manner.

Meanwhile, Jing Yuan was scouting locations in the suburbs. Since it was a private bodyguard company, it needed training facilities. The factory-style area in front of him looked good; this whole area was a cultural and creative exchange zone, occasionally frequented by tourists and photographers. Inside, there were shops selling paintings, jewelry, photographs, and so on. There were also art exhibitions.

Setting up a company here, combined with the industrial vibe of this area, would be a perfect fit.

The location of the two-story standalone shop that Jing Yuan had his eye on was quite good, but the rent was expensive. Although the two-story standalone building wasn’t tall, it occupied three times the area of the others, more than a thousand square meters. It was said that it used to be a place where dozens of stalls were put together to sell small accessories, but they couldn’t afford the rent, so they gradually went out of business, leaving only this industrial-style empty building that looked very cool and trendy.

“This warehouse is quite good.” Jing Yuan was very satisfied.

He and his men, all wearing sunglasses, exuded a chilling aura. The administrator of the cultural exchange area, seeing their menacing appearance, even managed a forced smile. Upon hearing Jing Yuan’s description, however, he couldn’t help but correct him.

“Boss, this isn’t a warehouse. This is called a creative shop…”

Jing Yuan, wearing sunglasses, turned his head to look at the administrator, who immediately stopped.

…Would he get beaten up?

As a result, Jing Yuan simply said, “I’m satisfied. Let’s sign the contract.”

The administrator was dumbfounded. “You haven’t even asked how much it costs yet. This place has expensive rent, it’s almost 220,000 a month… Are you sure?”

Jing Yuan did the math and decisively said, “We’ll break even in six months. Let’s sign.”

In a more ordinary location, a place this size could probably be rented for around 40,000 to 50,000 yuan a year, but the Royal Family were people of status; so Jing Yuan understood that the impression a company gave was completely different depending on where it was located. Jing Yuan liked this place; it was grand and impressive.

Finally, a three-year contract was signed, but rent was to be paid three months in advance and three months’ deposit upfront. Tenants came and went frequently in this area, hence the short lease terms.

Once the lease was signed, Jing Yuan immediately found workers to start renovations.

Amidst the clanging and banging of renovations, Jing Yuan stepped out of his ‘factory’ and stood under the shade of a tree to call Jing Xuan.

Once the call connected, Jing Yuan smiled faintly and asked, “Was lunch good?”

Jing Xuan paused for a moment, then said, “I was wrong. How about I make you lunch tomorrow, and you can take this lunchbox and eat lunch with your underlings, okay?”

Imagine the scene: a group of men in suits sitting together eating and drinking.

The leader in the center, with a fierce look on his face, then took out a pink lunchbox and started eating.

Just thinking about it… cough cough cough.

“Stop joking,” Jing Yuan said seriously. “Lend me your subordinate Qin Qian for a few days. I’m short-handed and need someone to manage things.”

“Then I don’t want to use this pink lunchbox anymore.”

Jing Yuan thought about it seriously for a moment, then said with a heavy heart, “Okay!”

That was how an agreement was reached.

Since Jing Yuan’s return, Qin Qian had been like a brick, moved wherever needed. There was no way around it; the employer-employee relationship in modern times wasn’t as close or familiar as the relationship between ruler and subject in their previous life. Therefore, the two brothers trusted their subordinates from their previous life more. And these underlings who came to join Jing Yuan, though perhaps just low-ranking soldiers in their past lives, knew Jing Yuan’s character and were willing to continue following him in this life.

Jing Yuan instructed Qin Qian to oversee the designers and workers, and also to keep an eye on the other underlings— because Qin Qian had been a servant of a prince in his previous life, his underlings were generally obedient to him.

After handing over the supervisory duties to Qin Qian, he left with peace of mind, finding a place to call his subordinates left behind in the US. He asked them to pack up all the territories and resources he had left in the US and send them to his foreign adoptive father, as a way of repaying the favor he had received.

He wasn’t bothered at all. A man who had conquered the world, how could he possibly care about a little bit of power? For Jing Yuan now, an ordinary family life was what he needed. He wouldn’t lose out at all by quickly passing this hot potato to someone else.

A few hours later, Jing Yuan’s phone rang, showing that another large sum of money had been deposited into his account— it seemed that his adoptive father, Mike, had accepted his gift but returned with a generous one.

That old Mike was the real smart guy; he didn’t even take advantage of the benefits from an adopted son for nothing.

When Jing Yuan got home, it was already six o’clock. During this period, Jiang Shining and Jing Xuan usually didn’t come back until after dark. To his surprise, when Jing Yuan opened the door, he saw Jiang Shining cooking in the house and Guoguo watching cartoons in front of the TV.

“How was your inspection of the venue?” Jiang Shining asked with a smile when she saw him return.

“It was great. The contract has already been signed, and it’s located in the cultural and creative park.” Jing Yuan took off his coat and changed his shoes.

Jiang Shining was taken aback.

“Creative park? The rent there is extremely expensive.”

“It’s alright, not too expensive.” Jing Yuan walked over. “Give it to me, I’ll cook.”

“No need, I’m almost done. I’ve made three dishes first, and I’ll make something else for Jing Xuan when he comes back tonight.” Jiang Shining turned on the stove, and Jing Yuan reached over and picked up the pot, pouring the food into a plate.

Jiang Shining and Jing Yuan had just finished their work and were quite hungry. But Guoguo had just finished eating her cookies and didn’t want to eat anything else. So, the two of them went to the table to eat first.

“If you don’t have enough money, just tell me,” Jiang Shining said. “I’m very rich.”

With so many points, she could live on them for a lifetime if she exchanged them for money.

“Don’t worry, I have money.” Jing Yuan smiled.

Parents always worry about their children, no matter how old they are or what they become, fearing they might suffer in silence.

Jing Yuan understood this, and his heart softened.

The two were eating when, less than half an hour later, Jing Xuan returned, looking rather excited.

“The traffic statistics for this year are in,” Jing Xuan said before he even took off his coat. “Xuanyuan Video’s total traffic and total views have surpassed the second place. Xuanyuan is no longer third in the industry!”

“Great news!” Jing Yuan said. “Let’s have a couple of drinks tonight to celebrate.”

Jiang Shining was also happy for him, saying, “You are indeed dedicated, and you deserve all of this.”

“Actually, you were the one who pushed me in the last round.” Jing Xuan was even a little shy at this moment. “The variety show market has been very weak this year, but your variety show brought huge traffic to Xuanyuan Video.”

After Jiang Shining’s talent show premiered, even the lowest-rated episode garnered a staggering 290 million views, demonstrating its immense popularity. This doesn’t even include the data generated by related behind-the-scenes footage, commercials, and surprise appearances by celebrities. Xuanyuan Video, which was initially neck-and-neck with the second-ranked website, thus suddenly found itself in second place after this show’s unexpected emergence which continued to drive traffic for months after its conclusion.

“We complement each other,” Jiang Shining said with satisfaction.

Xuanyuan Video rose to the top because of Ninglu’s Variety Show, and Ninglu Media also turned its fortunes around and saved itself because Xuanyuan Video provided the greatest support without reservation. It also made more than a dozen young idols famous. The four boys under Jiang Shining’s command had become the kings of traffic among young idols.

“That’s great,” Jing Yuan said. “I’ll be in charge of security for both of your companies from now on.”

Thinking about it carefully, Ninglu Media provided artists, movies, TV series, and variety shows, all of which were exclusively broadcast on Xuanyuan. Both companies thus benefited. And since their own artists and bosses used Jing Yuan’s people as personal bodyguards, they would undoubtedly feel more at ease. Jing Yuan would enter the industry through Jiang Shining’s artists, and once their reputation grew, they would naturally get more collaboration opportunities. In the end, all three parties would benefit, creating a virtuous cycle.

This was truly a case of keeping the good stuff within the family.
