“Are you sure?”

Maon-san asked apologetically.

“Of course! You can accept it, right?”

“Uh, uh. Thank you, thank you… Genta.”

Maon-san took my hand and thanked me with a trembling voice and tears in her eyes.

I held Maon’s hand in both hands, “Maon-san. It’s from here, from here. Let’s get them one by one from here. It’s going to be even harder from here on out. We have to rebuild your house!”

“Genta, it’s Genta…”

“Ugh, you’re making me cry! You’ve been quite a good son lately, Eno!”

“How about it, old man? Looks like you can have a good drink tonight, right?”

“Ugh! What a shame…”

The old man didn’t seem to be bothered by this. Not bad at all…

“Well, but, you know… I guess it’s worth it for me to make this. It was there.”

He looked embarrassed and scratched the tip of his nose.

….

After I paid and had the blanket folded, Najina came from the back carrying a large backpack.

“Grandpa, I’d like this too.”

“Oh, what’s that, a bag?”

“Wouldn’t it be easier if you put the blanket you’re carrying inside this?”

“That’s true, it’s a pain to carry it in your hands. It’s easier to put it in and carry it on your back.”

“Then, can I have this bag too? It will be useful for my future life. It will be necessary.”

This blanket was about 7,000 to 8,000 yen cheaper than the blanket I saw at the first store.

Now that I have it, I might as well buy something else.

“No, bro. Just wait a minute.”

However, Najina put a stop to this.

“Hey, Grandpa… I’m sure you’d be happy to hear such a good story. How about taking a bite and adding some flowers to it?”

“I’m so not an old man!”

“Now is not the time to say such things. So, this bag, put it on your blanket. It’ll make tonight’s drinks taste even better.”

“Don’t say it so lightly! I made this too.”

“That’s why, Grandpa… That blanket, Grandpa, you… You said you made, right? Then it’s nice here. Can you put this bag on too? It’s good for old people to go along with the spirit.”

“Don’t call me old!”

“And besides… I won’t be so stingy as to say anything for free. Grandpa, you’re probably free tonight anyway, so why don’t I treat you tonight? I feel good…”

“What?! Alcohol?”

“Yeah, that’s right. My grandfather and I both like alcohol. In that case… you won’t complain, right old man?”

“There … Heh! I’m not that stingy either! I’ll treat you.”

“All right! It’s decided! Grampa, I’ll take this bag!”

“Take it, you thief! And also…”

The old man took a deep breath…

“I’m not an old man!”

….

Najina put the new blanket in the backpack he received.

I walked at the front and we headed towards Maon’s house.

I actually intended to look around and buy some more miscellaneous goods,

But Maon wanted to work and get everything together little by little.

So as she had requested, we decided to go home with just a blanket and a backpack.

“Is that really okay, Genta-sama?”

“Hmm, what is it, Granny?”

“I told you I was going to drink.”

“Oh, I see… In that case… there’s nothing to worry about. Hey, buddy?”

With a grin, he turned the conversation to Wozma.

“Yes, that’s right. My lady, the tribe is alongside the Dwarves. We are a race that likes alcohol…”

“However, maybe because I’m small, I get drunk quickly… I get drunk quickly.”

“Wow… that’s the first time I’ve heard that.”

“There aren’t many gnomes living in towns. Few people know about them. That makes sense, Granny.”

“I see… but, sama…”

“What’s the matter, Granny?”

Why did Maon and Najina get into a fight?

“I can’t believe I’m buying drinks for someone who gets drunk so easily… Sama… I’m sorry …”

“No, no, even Grandma Maon noticed that. There he is…”

“Ufufufu…”

“Hahaha…”

“Hahahaha!”

It’s like a combination of an evil magistrate and a merchant in a period drama.

The two of them showed great harmony in their dialogue.

“Oh, Genta, this is a common play. It’s a play called “The Bad Nobleman and the Merchant. There’s a scene where a nobleman and a merchant are fighting. That’s what it feels like.”

“I see, that’s right.”

I nodded in agreement as Wozma explained, but to be honest, I was surprised.

Who would have thought that I would be able to see a classic scene from a period drama in another world?

It is not common on Earth for people in power and merchants to collude and commit evil deeds.

It seems to be a common occurrence not only throughout history and around the world, but even in other worlds.

It makes me feel nostalgic and think about people.

Maon and Najina’s “The common theme in plays” is still ongoing.

There were assortment of scenes, with Wozma and I occasionally making comments and they joined in as we headed towards the barn where Maon lived.
