Jiang Shining and Jing Xuan both wanted to catch up with Jing Yuan, but unfortunately, Jing Yuan arrived at the wrong time, as both of them had to go to work.

So, Chu Jingyuan crossed his arms, leaned against the wall, and watched the two put on their coats. While he hesitated, his gaze complex.

“Go to work and I’ll wait for you to come home.” After a long pause, all he could say was that.

As soon as he said it, Jing Yuan felt like a left-behind child, eagerly waiting for his family to reunite. But what could he do? He had chosen to come in the morning. Jiang Shining and Jing Xuan weren’t employees who could take leave; there were some work-related matters that they had to handle personally.

Jiang Shining put on her coat, then walked over and tapped Jing Yuan’s forehead with her finger before heading out to work.

Jing Xuan was also about to leave when he turned around and saw Jing Yuan standing there alone, looking rather desolate. Jing Xuan couldn’t help but find it a little funny— in his memory, Jing Yuan was always the center of attention, and it was quite rare to see him all alone like this.

“How about you come to the company with me?” Jing Xuan suggested.

….

Inside the headquarters building of Xuanyuan Video Co., Ltd., employees filed in through the main entrance.

Just then, a commotion broke out in the lobby. Everyone was whispering among themselves. Some of the new employees didn’t know what was going on.

“What’s wrong? What happened?”

“Look, it’s President Wang…”

However, for the employees, Mr. Wang’s appearance was nothing unusual; he was more like a beautiful sight. Their boss, Wang Muze, was low-key and approachable, often working alongside the employees and eating lunch in the cafeteria. He was diligent, so they saw him almost every day.

However, having such a handsome and well-dressed CEO around had greatly increased the female employees’ enthusiasm for work.

Normally, President Wang coming to work every day wouldn’t cause a stir, but today— their beautiful president had an extra person by his side.

The two walked side by side, and from behind, it was almost impossible to tell which one was President Wang. They both had similarly broad shoulders, narrow waists, and long legs. The only difference was that the one on the left wore a custom-made suit, while the one on the right wore a dark blue trench coat over it.

Some employees, upon seeing the front view, couldn’t help but gasp – another handsome guy like Boss Wang!

If their CEO Wang was charming and his smile was as warm and gentle as the autumn sun, then the extraordinary young man beside him had a more reserved and cold temperament. His black eyes were as deep as a bottomless pool, and his temperament and aura were completely different from those of CEO Wang.

The two of them walking together were such a pleasing sight to behold. It was like they were shooting a fashion editorial.

Upon reaching the elevator, the employees waiting in front of it instinctively made way. Normally, they would greet their boss politely, but with Jing Yuan present today, they hesitated to speak.

“Good morning.” Jing Xuan smiled and greeted his employees gently.

“Good morning!” Only then did someone stammer a reply— most people were secretly observing Jing Yuan.

The elevator arrived. The CEO’s office was on the top floor, so Jing Xuan and Jing Yuan stood on the inside of the elevator. Both were already tall and standing side-by-side in the elevator, they looked like two male doormen. It made everyone else feel awkward turning to look at them.

“Mr. Wang, is this also the boss?” a male employee asked.

Jing Xuan laughed happily, “No, he’s my new cleaner.”

…What the hell is a cleaner? Who would believe that?!

Jing Yuan chuckled, and the employees shuddered and quickly got off the elevator.

After the employees left one by one, Jing Xuan looked at Jing Yuan.

“You scared them,” Jing Xuan said helplessly. “Could you tone down your gangster boss persona a little and be a bit friendlier?”

Jing Yuan shrugged.

“It’s not my fault that I look fierce.”

His aura was too powerful. He wasn’t as kind as Jing Xuan to begin with, so when Jing Yuan wasn’t speaking, people would assume he was angry. If he smiled occasionally, people would think it was a prelude to anger. If Jing Yuan were to be gentle with someone, they would feel like they were close to death; even if Jing Yuan was showing his last bit of tenderness.

Jing Xuan was the complete opposite. Jing Xuan always managed to lower people’s guard, making it easier for them to side with him and tell him the truth. Even when Jing Xuan criticized someone, the other person would gratefully and humbly accept it. If it were Jing Yuan criticizing someone, that person would probably be so frightened that they would kill themselves on the spot.

The concept of aura was truly unsolvable.

Upon arriving at the CEO’s office, Secretary Xiao Liu walked over from the next office.

“Boss, this is today’s…” He saw Jing Yuan and froze.

“I’m the new cleaner,” Jing Yuan said expressionlessly.

“I…I…am I bothering you?” Xiao Liu nervously handed the folder to Jing Xuan. “Boss, these are your tasks for today. I’ll go and organize your schedule for this week…”

Then they quickly left the scene.

Jing Xuan looked at Jing Yuan with disapproval, and Jing Yuan sighed deeply.

“Nobody has ever understood my dry humor.”

The two entered the office, and Jing Xuan, seeing Jing Yuan surveying his office, smiled and asked, “So, are you satisfied?”

The CEO’s office was on the top floor, with one side being floor-to-ceiling windows offering a great view. The interior furnishings were very simple, which suited Jing Xuan’s character.

Jing Yuan curled the corners of his lips into a smile.

“Not bad.”

He didn’t seem to mind; after walking around for a bit, he sat down in the executive chair behind his desk and casually picked up some documents to flip through. Jing Xuan leaned against the desk, watching him.

What kind of work are you doing now?

“I mainly do some ‘business’,” Jing Yuan said casually. “My roots are in the US, and some things are easier to do there.”

Jing Xuan sighed softly. “I think you should find a normal career. Do you still remember the vow we made in our past life?”

Jing Yuan naturally remembered. On the day Jiang Shining died from poisoning, he and seventeen-year-old Jing Xuan nestled together in the side hall, vowing that in their next life they would not be born into an imperial family, but only hoped to be ordinary people and be with their mother.

What he was doing now was indeed somewhat dangerous and far from ordinary.

“You’re right, I do need to reconsider.”

Since his mother and younger brother were both alive and the family was together, he was happy enough even if he were just a small vendor.

But what should we do?
