Bai Yue…
Bai Yue?
After a brief pause, the crowd erupted in a commotion.
At Luohua Academy, Bai Yue’s name was known to everyone. But unlike Du Qin, it wasn’t his strength that made him famous, but his striking appearance.
To Alphas and some Betas, Bai Yue was their dream lover. Beautiful and gentle, he was their perfect partner.
However in the eyes of Omegas and some Betas, Bai Yue was just a pretty face.
An Yu, another pretty face, was at least B-rank, but Bai Yue? Since no one knew about him, it meant his genetic rank wasn’t anything to brag about.
C-rank, or even D-rank, was a possibility.
But how could such an unremarkable Omega attract the personal visit of the Principal and Admiral of the Imperial Military Academy?
Everyone was puzzled.
Du Qin’s smile was almost gone. The group behind him thought the Principal had come to see him, but Admiral Lu asked for another person’s name right in front of him.
However, the hesitation within him was hidden behind his glasses.
He pushed his glasses up. “Are you referring to Bai Yue from the third grade? He’s my classmate and should be in the principal’s office right now.”
General Lu asked with a smile, “If it’s convenient, could you show me the way?”
Du Qin was about to nod when his friend beside him interrupted impatiently, “Admiral, why are you looking for an Omega? Aren’t you looking for an A-level graduate?”
General Lu didn’t react. Instead, several of his subordinates behind him curled their lips, their smiles unclear.
Perhaps those smiles were harmless, but to Du Qin, they were glaring.
“You have an A-level?” General Lu looked at Du Qin.
Du Qin hesitated for a moment. “Yes.”
General Lu said, “Congratulations. I hope you can become a student at our military academy someday.”
As he finished speaking, the air seemed to freeze.
Though the words were congratulatory, the meaning was clear. General Lu had no idea who he was, so it couldn’t be about him.
At that moment, Du Qin desperately wanted to strangle his friend. If the other party hadn’t been grandstanding and saying what he’d just said, he wouldn’t have had to face this awkward situation.
However, he couldn’t vent these emotions in front of General Lu. He could only stiffen his neck and nod.
Just then, a loud voice rang out from a distance.
“General Lu, I’m sorry for not welcoming you!”
It was the principal of Luohua College approaching. He was rather portly, with a large belly, and his swift movements resembled a penguin. The head teacher of Class 3 followed behind him, along with a strange couple.
The principal, sweating profusely, wiped his brow. “Sorry to have kept you waiting. Come on in!”
General Lu said, “No, it was my fault. I came in a hurry and didn’t contact you in advance.”
“No, no.” The principal, in his entire life, had never met such a high-ranking official before, and he nearly knelt before him.
Although he looked much older than General Lu, he remained humble in his presence.
After all, the disparity in status and genetic rank was intimidating. Luohua Academy, a small institution, would likely be closed tomorrow if it displeased the admiral.
Therefore, regardless of whether the military had contacted him in advance, and regardless of the reason, he had to treat him with courtesy.
“Let’s go up together and discuss things.”
General Lu nodded slightly, turning to one of his subordinates and saying, “Come with me. The others, wait here.”
“Yes!”
The officers saluted.
Even a colonel held a much higher rank than the principal. So the principal hurriedly said, “How can we leave them standing here? My office is quite large. Let’s go together.”
General Lu shook his head. “No need. We’re all soldiers.” He gestured to the principal, “Please lead the way.”
The principal naturally dared not disobey the admiral’s order. Despite his friendly tone, he exuded an unyielding aura.
The principal led the way. Behind him, the students split into two streams, clearing a path for others.
Following behind the principal were none other than Fang Zhenren’s parents. When they saw General Lu upstairs, they immediately followed, wanting to make their presence felt. But upon seeing the real person, they felt a bit intimidated. So they didn’t dare approach and initiate a conversation, only following behind him submissively.
Even after General Lu and his group had departed, the students remained frozen in their tracks, baffled.
So, General Lu really wasn’t looking for Du Qin? But why would he be looking for an ordinary Omega?
Seeing Du Qin frozen in place, his friend was at a loss for words. He dropped his hand from his shoulder and said hesitantly, “Well, who would have thought of that? It might not be a good thing. Let’s go back to the classroom.”
Du Qin glanced at him.
His friend froze, his body drenched in cold swear, as if he’d been bitten by a cold, venomous snake. He’d been friends with Du Qin for three years, and this was the first time he’d seen him look like that.
Regardless, he had been instrumental in the situation. So, he timidly said, “Don’t be angry. I didn’t mean to do that, and you just came down so excitedly…”
These words undoubtedly backfired.
The students, still dazed, snapped back to their senses, their expressions intriguing. Some who had secretly envied Du Qin took the opportunity to taunt him.
“Ha, he thought they were here to greet him. Such an overly self-conscious person.”
“Hehe.”
Perhaps because he was hidden in the crowd, his voice was undisguised and impudent. Du Qin glanced at them and left without a word.
Just then, Bai Yue returned to the classroom. It was completely empty, not a soul in sight.
So he sat down in his seat. Soon, the students who had finished watching the excitement returned. When they saw Bai Yue, they were all surprised. But they just stared blankly, no one approached to speak.
Bai Yue couldn’t help but raise his hand and sniff his sleeve, suspecting his pheromones had leaked out. But he smelled nothing.
More people returned, including Du Qin’s friend. However, his face was grim and he looked listless. Du Qin himself, on the other hand, was nowhere to be seen until the entire class had arrived.
Li Ren was the last to return. And as soon as he saw Bai Yue, he rushed over.
“Why are you here?!”
Bai Yue tilted his head. “Can’t I be here?”
“But, but…” Li Ren looked a little bewildered. “The military is looking for you!”
The military.
Bai Yue had already considered that if his genetic level was true, the military wouldn’t have taken no action. It was just so sudden that even the school had no idea they were coming today.
“Hey, don’t talk too much at a time like this,” someone reminded Li Ren. “They say it’s Bai Yue, but who knows which Bai Yue it is? There are so many people with the same name, what if we get it wrong again? It would be too embarrassing.”
As he said this, he glanced at Du Qin’s seat.
“That’s true.”
Li Ren felt a little guilty and sat down. In fact, he didn’t think someone from the military would come looking for his friend. Because although Bai Yue was a kind person, he was just an ordinary Omega.
He thus sat back in his seat, took a sip of water, and was about to talk to Bai Yue about what had just happened. But before he could say anything, a figure appeared behind him.
It was the homeroom teacher again.
Li Ren subconsciously thought it was still about Fang Zhenren and stood up: “Bai Yue really didn’t do anything. I can testify!”
However, this time the homeroom teacher’s expression was unusual. There was a glint in his eyes, as if he was trying hard to suppress his excitement, and he grabbed Bai Yue’s hand.
“Come with me! The military is looking for you!”
Li Ren was stunned. Only after his friend was taken away did he regain consciousness and scratch his ears.
Wait, did he hear correctly?
Someone from the military, General Lu, the principal of the Imperial First Military Academy, had actually come all the way to see Bai Yue?
A few seconds later, the entire Class 3 erupted in excitement.
