Content Warning; war, violence, senseless death

The smoke was choking Xiao Jing, and she walked cautiously. She couldn’t be sure what would suddenly pop up from behind her, and she couldn’t guarantee that her next step would not step on something that would instantly turn her into ashes.

Faced with unknown dangers, she had no choice but to move cautiously.

“Boom.” A huge mushroom cloud with bright flames exploded in front of a not far away building. The cars affected were torn into pieces, and the residents who had no time to escape uttered desperate cries.

Xiao Jing hid under the car, looked at the shaking stones on the ground, closed his eyes, and tightly grasped his pistol.

The flames spread, and the sound of chaotic footsteps began to run. This was the most densely populated place in the city. The shrill screams echoed for a long time. The arrogant and complacent smiles mixed with the sound of victorious gunfire, slaughtering everyone’s hope like a gluttonous feast.

“Four directions and ten districts requesting support, requesting support.” A soldier in a red military uniform called out anxiously into the communicator, but just as he finished speaking, a bullet mercilessly pierced through his body.

Xiao Jing did not move and continued to lurk under the car. She looked at the messy footsteps around her and listened to the shouts filled with fear, but still did not dare to make any move.

“Boom boom boom.” The ground shook violently.

Xiao Jing’s eyes widened suddenly. She knew that it was the transportation of heavy weapons, probably something inside a tank or armored vehicle.

“Aim and shoot.” The unhurried voice gave the terrifying order.

As the man finished speaking, a shell was fired from the muzzle, flew a hundred meters, and landed on a building that symbolized the city’s landmark.

The entire glass windows of the thirty-story building began to fall off, and sharp pieces of glass fell like a rainstorm, landing on ordinary people who did not have time to escape, leaving them covered in blood.

“Shoot.”

“Bang.” The shells popped out, and tanks and armored vehicles rolled over the entire block one after another.

Seeing that the armored vehicle was only ten meters away from her, Xiao Jing had to give up hiding here.

“Save me, save me.” A weak child’s voice came from the corner.

Xiao Jing looked over subconsciously. The boy was only about seven or eight years old. His entire face was covered in blood mixed with dust, and he looked extremely miserable.

“Save me, save me.” The boy raised his hands tremblingly, he blinked, and a tear rolled down from the corner of his eyes.

Xiao Jing crawled over and checked his body. He was not seriously injured. Apart from a stray bullet in his right calf that had caused weakness due to excessive blood loss, there were no other wounds on his body.

“Save me.” The boy clutched the corner of her clothes tightly.

Xiao Jing picked him up hesitantly and carefully walked away from the corner.

Outside the temporarily safe refugee camp was a temporary storage area built by the Red Army. Ordinary citizens who had been hurt walked in here with tired looks.

Xiao Jing placed the boy ten meters away from the entrance and whispered in English: “You go there by yourself.”

The little boy was still tugging at her clothes stubbornly, his big eyes seeming full of despair. His voice was a little timid and trembling, as he asked: “Are you here to save us?”

Xiao Jing pointed to the officers in the temporary shelter behind him and said, “They will save you.”

The little boy turned his head and looked at the man in military uniform with a dull expression. Tears gathered in his eyes, but he was stubborn and refused to let them fall. “They killed my relatives.”

Xiao Jing was silent. In such a war, who was right and who was wrong?

The little boy sat there in a daze, with his head down.

Xiao Jing squatted down, rummaged through her bag, took out the chocolate that she had been reluctant to eat, handed it to him, and comforted him: “They will protect you. I am leaving. When you grow up, you will understand that no one wants a war. All of this is beyond our control.”

The little boy was still sitting on the ground. He looked at the candy in his hand, his face pale. Finally, he stood up tremblingly and walked towards the storage camp with his small steps.

Xiao Jing turned around to take another look at the devastated place, picked up her gun, and prepared to climb the high wall.

“Bang.” A huge fireball that seemed to be burning with flames flew through the air dazzlingly.

Xiao Jing’s expression became frightened, and she instinctively lunged forward. Flames exploded, instantly covering the entire storage camp area like a volcanic eruption.

Her back was aching, and Xiao Jing raised her head. She looked at the storage camp engulfed by fire and clenched her fists tightly.

At this moment, no one must have survived in the entire reception camp.

“Hahaha.” The arrogant laughter came from far away with the rumbling sound of tanks.

Xiao Jing clenched the rifle, adjusted the scope, and when she was sure, she pulled the trigger without hesitation.

“Bang.” The bullet flew up into the sky like a sleeping dragon that had broken free from its restraints, and finally landed on the man on the tank armored vehicle who was holding a telescope to view the fruits of victory.

“There are enemies, there is an ambush, be alert, be alert.” The man’s sudden death caused the enemy to immediately turn their guns on him.

Xiao Jing quickly got up from the ground. A piece of skin on her shoulder was scraped off by the flying iron block, and it was burning. She hurriedly climbed over the high wall, looking for the next sniper point.

“Target spotted, fire.”

The sound of artillery shells came from behind. Xiao Jing had no time to think and rushed directly into a building.

“Boom.” The walls shook and the chandeliers in the entire building began to shake.

Xiao Jing didn’t stop for a moment. She broke open the glass window, followed the path in the alley, and climbed over one high wall after another.

“Encirclement and suppression.”

The tanks couldn’t get in, so soldiers armed with AKs ran down from the armored vehicles and began a carpet search for Xiao Jing who had been missed.

Xiao Jing hid behind the wall and watched the approaching enemy through the small crack with full concentration.

“Bang, bang, bang.” Three bullets were fired in succession, and the three soldiers who were walking in the front to explore the way fell down directly.

Seeing this scene, no one dared to step forward easily.

“Boom, boom, boom.” An off-road vehicle slowly drove in, brushing past the two walls of the alley. On the roof of the car, a man controlled a heavy machine gun with both hands. Then, a barrage of bullets came at them.

The bullets shot through the wall, kicking up clouds of dust.

Xiao Jing retracted her head, and after being sure that the car was getting closer and closer to her, she had no choice but to run out from behind the cover.

“Shoot.” Almost the moment she appeared, gunshots rang out, shaking the whole city like thunder in a drought.

A bullet penetrated her shoulder, and she was smashed heavily against the wall by inertia. She crawled on the ground, using the small stone block in front of her as a cover, raised her rifle, and fired several shots without thinking.

On the heavy machine gun, the man’s body convulsed unnaturally and he fell straight off the car.

“Leave no one alive.” In the cab, the man was furious and shattered the windshield with a bullet, then jumped out and said, “Encircle and destroy them.”

Xiao Jing gritted her teeth and stepped back cautiously.

She looked at the Green Camp Army that was getting closer and closer and knew in her heart that she probably wouldn’t be able to make it this time.

“Come out, little wild cat.” The man fired madly.

Xiao Jing bit her lip. She still had a reluctance to admit defeat in her bones. She replaced the magazine and looked up at the sky again.

“Bang, bang, bang.” Violent gunshots hit the cover in front of her.

Xiao Jing tightly grasped the pistol that the captain had specially chosen for her with both hands, and finally stood up and fired without hesitation.

Come on, let’s die together.

The Green Camp soldiers obviously did not expect that this guy would suddenly jump up regardless of his life and death. They hesitated for only a second or two, and in the blink of an eye, bullets came like a storm. When they hit their bodies, they fell on their backs one by one without even having time to cry out in pain.

“Shoot, shoot.”

Xiao Jing fought back while retreating, and finally leaned against the corner. She looked at the two-meter-high wall in front of her, stepped over the abandoned small table beside her, then she jumped up, and climbed up effortlessly.

The man carried a long-barreled cannon and pulled the trigger with force. The shell flew out and directly destroyed an entire wall.

“Bang.” The huge sound of the explosion echoed in the alley, and the echo continued.

“Sir, Captain James is here.”

“Retreat.” The man threw the cannon at the soldiers behind him and raised his hands high to the sky, a gesture of victory.

The sound of explosions around was one after another, and the noise caused by tanks entering the city was even more deafening.

Lin Qi was hiding in a corner. He heard the sound of a vehicle moving away from him, and his heart slowly calmed down.

He covered his wound and stood up slowly. But just after taking two steps, he heard footsteps approaching and hid back in a hurry.

“Xichi, take some people to pick up the captain.”

“I’ll leave Jin Shan to you.”

Lin Qi heard the intermittent voices and after confirming that they were his own people, he hurriedly walked out from the corner.

“Who is it?” Mu Xichi noticed movement behind him and raised his gun alertly.

Lin Qi hurriedly said: “It’s me, it’s me.”

Seeing the pale-faced Lin Qi, Mu Xichi frowned and asked, “Why are you hiding here? Are you injured?”

Lin Qi nodded, “The captain and the others went to south of the city.”

“I understand. Xichi, you take the injured Lin Qi and Jin Shan away. The rest of us and I will go to meet the captain.” Pei Yi led the rest of the people and prepared to set off.

“Be careful.” Mu Xichi carried the unconscious Jin Shan on his back, glanced at Lin Qi who was still able to walk despite losing too much blood, and said, “Let’s go.”

There was a riot in the South City, with bullets falling like flying sand and rocks, and the whole block was in a mess.

Victims could be seen everywhere, the strong smell of blood mixed with the smell of gunpowder from bombs drifted in the wind, and fast-moving figures flashed by briskly, almost without any stopping.

Military boots stepped on the ground, and people walked in groups.

Among the crowd, there were a few people who were quite eye-catching. Although there were more or less bloodstains on their bodies, they were well-dressed and obviously leaders of noble status.

“The general said that these people must be treated with good food and drink. They are our distinguished guests and cannot be neglected.” The leading man glanced coldly at the group of captured Hua people and said in a sinister tone.

“Major, why go to so much trouble? It would be better to just shoot them directly.” After saying that, an officer shot one of them directly.

“Stop it.” The man called major was unable to stop it and could only watch one of the prisoners being killed.

“No.” The man who was walking in front with his head held high shouted sadly. Seeing his right-hand man falling to the ground without struggling, he shook his head and said, “You are violating international conventions by doing this.”

“I am the boss now and I don’t care about your rules.” After saying that, the officer who fired the shot wanted to fire another shot.

The other man grabbed his gun and said angrily, “If you move again, I will expel you from the military.”

The man spat out a mouthful of saliva indignantly and snorted coldly, “I just don’t like these guys. Why are you glaring at me? If you glare at me again, I’ll kill you.”

“Roll.”

The man took a step back unwillingly, staring at the captured people with a look like an evil look like a poisonous snake, spitting poison coldly, and seemed to be thinking about finding one or two more opportunities to kill one of them.

The crowd began to move again, and the direction they were heading should be the Green Camp’s base.

“Let’s start.” Shen Chengfeng waved to Jiang Xin behind him.

The two of them cooperated perfectly, one in front and one behind to block the opponent.

A breeze suddenly blew, and the sand and stones swirled around and scattered, and there was a faint smell of blood in the air.

“A-choo.” The leading officer sneezed loudly, then raised his head with his pupils focused. A bullet flew straight towards him, and he had almost no time to move as the bullet landed right between his eyebrows.

“Be alert, a sneak attack is coming, a sneak attack is coming.” The enemy had not expected a sneak attack and they picked up their guns in panic. However, before they could aim, the bullets hit them right in the middle of their eyebrows as if they had eyes.

Seeing this, the officer, who was just feeling angry, decided to shoot these Chinese people without hesitation.

“Bang.” The bullet landed on his wrist, and his right hand instinctively loosened, and the gun barrel fell to the ground. He was thinking about picking it up, and another bullet landed on his knee.

“Ah.” The man couldn’t help but shout out in pain. He looked up and suddenly a shadow appeared above his head.

Feng Qing used his handcuffs to hit the man’s head hard, his eyes bloodshot, “You are a vicious person, a demon who kills without blinking an eye, a demon, a demon.”

“Secretary of State, let’s go.” Another person reacted and hurriedly grabbed Feng Qing who was about to beat the man to death.

Feng Qing ran breathlessly towards the safe area. There were ten people in their group, but only three were left. The remaining seven were all dead.

Seeing their colleagues on the ground, the three of them felt a lump in their throats and their eyes turned red. They had no idea that this farewell to their families would be forever.

“Secretary of State, I am Shen Chengfeng, captain of the Iron Eagle Special Forces of the SS501 Regiment. I will be responsible for taking you back to the country. Please follow me.” After Shen Chengfeng dealt with the soldiers in charge of detaining the prisoners, he led Feng Qing to evacuate to a secluded small street block.

This was the closest location to the Green Camp Army. If you walk a few hundred meters forward, you could see the group of villain lunatics who were waving flags, holding guns, and killing anyone they saw.

“Captain, we can’t go any further.” Jiang Xin finished investigating the situation ahead, turned back and shook his head seriously.

Hearing this, the secretary behind Feng Qing’s legs softened and he sat on the ground. “What should we do? What should we do? Are we going to die here?”

Jiang Xin ignored the incoherent man and continued, “There are about a hundred Green Camp soldiers ahead. The most important thing is that they have two tanks and four heavy machine guns, countless long-barreled artillery shells, and even a mine bomb with an explosive force of about one kilometer.”

“Choose another way.” Shen Chengfeng planned to turn back, but just after he walked two meters, he noticed the wall beside him shaking slightly.

Jiang Xin understood what that meant. It meant that some heavy weapons were approaching nearby, and it was estimated that they were no more than ten meters away.

The two men were on high alert, lurking on both sides.

Shen Chengfeng aimed at the moving tank, took off his gloves, glanced at Jiang Xin, and said, “Cover me.”

Jiang Xin held the gun and paid close attention to the situation. When Shen Chengfeng appeared within the enemy’s attack range, he started shooting without hesitation.

Shen Chengfeng moved quickly. He was not afraid of the bullets that almost hit him. He rushed forward, kicked away the enemy who was aiming at him again, and then strangled the enemy’s neck with his backhand. The enemy died on the spot.

He heard the sound of bullets being loaded behind him, and he lowered himself to the bottom of the tank.

The tank began to move.

Shen Chengfeng grabbed the bumper with both hands, and a cloud of thick smoke began to rise.

The heavy weapon that was moving suddenly stopped, and bursts of white smoke were seen spreading from under the vehicle.

The driver who was controlling the tank opened the top in panic, and just as his head appeared, he was shot dead.

Shen Chengfeng corroded the bottom and successfully entered the interior. There was another person inside who did not have time to leave. When he saw the person emerging from underground, he widened his eyes in horror.

Shen Chengfeng grabbed the man’s shoulder, and almost in the blink of an eye, the man felt an indescribable pain. He lowered his head and saw that his skin gradually began to get hot, and the next moment, it was a bloody mess.

“Ah.” The man’s body trembled and blood spat out of his mouth.

Shen Chengfeng raised his hand and pinched the man, and his neck tilted and he fell to the ground.

The tank turned around and faced the enemy.

“Retreat, retreat.” The enemy troops fled in all directions.

“Bang.” The shells landed among the enemy troops, exploding with a dazzling light.

After the thick fog cleared, all the people who had been shouting just now disappeared without a trace.

Shen Chengfeng changed direction and fired another shot at the Green Camp troops who were coming one after another to surround him.

“Boom!” The whole block was filled with flames.

Some people couldn’t even tell friend from foe. There were crazy gunshots, artillery fire, and thick smoke.
