It was almost dusk, and the flames of the bonfire dyed the sunset in brilliant colors.

A group of men wearing shabby linen clothes were busy in the open space in the dim light of dusk. Some used tools to dig holes and mark lines, some poured unknown liquids, and some were doing unknown things on nearby trees.

Luo Mi sat on the iron cage next to the campfire.

From his perspective, the patterns these people dug and drew on the ground looked like a huge magic circle, which made him feel a little cold inexplicably.

The leader of the group checked the completion of the magic circle. When he came to Luo Mi, his hands covered with thick calluses and soil, he made a nondescript salute and said with slight fear: “Master Ryan, the summoning magic circle is ready.”

Luo Mi said “hmm” with his nose and jumped down from the iron cage.

There was a pair of bat-like black wings on his back, and a slender tail behind his butt, which together maintained his balance and slowed down his landing.

Luo Mi circled around the magic circle.

The magic circle was drawn with a ruler and a simple compass. Although it was complicated, the lines were regular and graceful. After being poured with a light green fluorescent liquid, it gave off a mysterious and dangerous atmosphere.

Luo Mi pretended to look at it carefully for a while, then pointed to a place in the magic circle: “The painting here is not good, so add two more cross lines.”

The person next to him was stunned: “We drew it strictly according to the drawings…”

“The terrain here is not flat enough and needs to be adjusted according to the actual situation.” Luo Mi said with a straight face, “Do you know how to summon demons or do I know how to summon?”

The man didn’t dare to say anything anymore and asked a few people to change it according to Luo Mi’s instructions.

Luo Mi breathed a sigh of relief silently, and said to the system in his mind: “With so many changes, the devil shouldn’t be able to be summoned, right?”

[According to the settings of this world, the effect of a slight modification to the magic circle will be completely different. Random modifications may directly fail or may produce unexpected effects.]

“That still doesn’t feel safe enough.” Luo Mi held his chin and pondered for a moment, “We still have to create opportunities to escape.”

Although these people were afraid of him, Luo Mi knew that as a delicate and soft succubus, he was the race with the worst fighting ability and the most looked down upon among the demons. Even if these people had no special abilities, they could beat him to death easily.

They now obeyed his words mainly because they were bewitched by the original body to summon higher-level demons.

Luo Mi’s past identity was that of a low-level succubus who was also the lowest level among demons in the Demon Realm. Although low-level demons were fragile and incompetent, they were not without their advantages – they could more easily penetrate the weak points in the barrier between the light realm and the demonic realm.

The original person received an order from a high-ranking demon. After blending into the light realm, he bewitched local farmers, collected raw materials, and then went to the wilderness to set up a summoning array.

The reason why these farmers were so obedient was actually very simple: the taxes collected by the local nobles were getting heavier and heavier, and they had no way out even by selling themselves as slaves. In despair, they were deceived by the lie of “summoning high-ranking demons to kill the nobles and make their lives better.”

Luo Mi sighed softly in his heart: “Didn’t we agree to transmigrate to the vicinity of the Holy Son?”

A few days ago, Luo Mi was hit by a drunk driving truck on the road. When he was about to die, he obtained the system – as long as he could go to other worlds to complete the mission, he would have a chance to be resurrected.

Of course Luo Mi had no reason to refuse.

The system told him that his mission in this world was to seduce the future BOSS and the current Holy Son of the Vatican into darkness.

“Holy Light Continent” was a Western fantasy novel world. The place where people lived was called the “Light Realm”, and the place where the hostile demons lived was called the “Devil Realm”. The Holy See set up a Holy Light Barrier at the edge of the Light Domain to isolate the demons from intrusion and establish the Holy See’s supremacy.

Holy Son Anos Crean’s status in the Holy See was second only to the Pope, and he was almost the intended successor of the next generation of Popes. Because of his power, nobility, and piety, he was known as the “angel walking on earth.”

At this time, the official plot of the novel had not yet begun.

According to the original work, the always pious Son would darken at a certain point in time, and suddenly transform from a pure and upright angel into a villain trying to destroy the world. He would abandon his faith and glory, and all the kindness, virtue, humility, and compassion he once insisted on.

The blackened Son killed the Pope and repeatedly attacked the Holy See and nobles, sometimes even civilians. Finally, the Holy Son, who had completely fallen, opened the barrier between the light realm and the demon realm, and released the demon army into the light realm, trying to destroy the entire world.

Of course, the protagonist of the original work also grew rapidly under this pressure, and finally succeeded in killing the fallen angel, ushering in a perfect ending.

However, he didn’t know why, now even though the critical time had passed, the Holy Son was still showing mercy and praying Mass in the Holy See.

If the Holy Son didn’t turn dark, the plot wouldn’t go on, so the system called Luo Mi to remedy the situation.

According to the system, after entering this world, Luo Mi should have possessed the priest next to the Son, so that he could have close contact with the Son, so as to confirm the reason why the Son had not turned black, and it was best to lure the Son to fall.

There was just a “small mistake” when entering this world, which caused Luo Mi to possess this little demon.

Luo Mi originally hoped to change his body but was told by the system that he could not change his body at the moment. After the transmigration was completed, the system would only provide free information exchange, and all useful functions could only be used if Luo Mi completed the task.

Of course Luo Mi didn’t want to really summon the devil, but the succubus had almost no fighting power. If he suddenly went back on his word now, the poor farmers who just got hope then saw their hope shattered would probably beat him to death in anger or send him away even if they couldn’t beat him to death to a nearby church for purification.

He could only pretend to cooperate and wait for an opportunity to blindly modify the summoning magic circle.

But changing the magic circle could only delay time. If you really want to be safe, you still have to run.

Luo Mi’s eyes fell on the iron cage where he was sitting before.

There was a boy about fifteen or sixteen years old locked in the iron cage. His chestnut hair was slightly curly, and he was wearing a patched and shabby linen jacket. His mouth and hands were tied with cloth strips. There was a bit of despair on his dull face. He could only look around. Only when he reached Luo Mi did his brown eyes become filled with fear and anger.

Luo Mi had seen the memory of the original person. This boy was a sacrifice used to open the summoning circle – he was an orphan from the same village. Because he had no father or mother, he was kidnapped and about to be sacrificed by the farmers who longed for wealth and peace.

This made Luo Mi feel quite complicated about these poor and hopeless farmers.

Seeing that the boy was still glaring at him fiercely even though he was tied in the cage, Luo Mi reached in and poked his face: “Kid, why are you so fierce? I didn’t tie you up.”

The boy whined a few times. If his eyes had power, Luo Mi would probably be twisted into a twist by now.

Luo Mi rubbed his forehead in annoyance, his long and slender tail knotted in knots: “Bringing one more will make it even more troublesome to run away…”

He spun around twice, his tail relaxed and slapped the ground, and suddenly he gave a high-five, “Let’s try it.”

He called the leader who was still modifying the magic circle over and said with a serious expression: “The plan has changed, we are in trouble!”

The man was stunned: “What’s the trouble?”

“The Holy See has learned of our existence. The Knights are on their way over. At the current speed, the summoning may not be in time.”

The system raised a question in Luo Mi’s mind:

[How does the host know?]

Luo Mi answered the system in his heart: “I lied to him.”

[….]

As expected, the man showed surprise and hesitation: “How did you know?”

Luo Mi coughed seriously: “This is the revelation given to me by Lord Black Wing.”

According to his original memory, he belonged to Lord Black Wing among the five demon lords in the Demon Realm.

The highest-ranking demons in the Demon Realm were called “Demon Lords”. There were five of them, and they had divided the land of the Demon Realm among themselves. All formally organized demons in the Demon Realm were subordinates of the five demon lords.

The name of the Demon Lord was so resounding that even ordinary people in the Light Realm had heard of it.

Sure enough, everyone else had expressions of awe and panic when they heard the name.

Although they had determined to rely on the power of demons to survive, they still had a deep-rooted fear of the demons from the demon realm.

The leader subconsciously turned his attention to Luo Mi: “Then what are we going to do?”

Luo Mi cleared his throat and said seriously: “I need you to delay the Knights’ time.”

The man shrank his neck and instinctively retorted in a low voice: “We people can’t defeat the Knights Templar at all…”

“Isn’t there me?” Luo Mi slowed down his voice, “All you have to do is to place more obstacles on their way forward, and I will seize the time to activate the magic circle. As long as you can delay the time, it will be enough.”

Seeing that these people were still hesitating, Luo Mi further hinted, “Stupid! Use your brains. You are not demons. You don’t have to confront the knights to hold them back. You can just say that you have encountered demons and point them in the wrong direction.”

Those people suddenly realized.

As long as they didn’t have to die, their resistance would be reduced by a lot.

Luo Mi solemnly “taught” them a lot of ways to deal with the Holy See Knights, including but not limited to using the Holy See Knights’ obsessive-compulsive disorder, mysophobia, etc. Hearing this, several peasants who had only been to the small church to listen to the priest’s sermons were stunned.

Together, several people planned to leave two people to help Luo Mi continue to set up the magic circle. However, they were frightened by Luo Mi’s words, “When I activate the magic circle, I will directly drain the lives of the people around me.” In the end, only Luo Mi was left and the offering left in iron cages.

Looking at the backs of those people leaving, Luo Mi breathed a sigh of relief, came to the iron cage, and looked at the young man in the cage with a smile.

The young man’s eyes were still angry, but his face turned pale unconsciously.

Luo Mi did not scare him and used the dagger he originally carried to cut off the cloth strips that bound the boy, and said with a smile: “Okay, you can run away.”
