“My darling!” Qin Shuanglu sneered, “Mom, are you senile? What time is it? You’re still protecting this traitorous girl! She’s a good for nothing, all she does is chase after Xu Tianzhi, making our Qin family lose face. And this time she even jumped into the river for Xu Tianzhi! Do you know that everyone in the village is giving us a hard time now, saying that our Qin family’s descendants are shameless? It’s not a problem with the roots! The good reputation that our ancestors have passed down in this village for generations is now ruined by her!”

“Qin Shuanglu, you heartless bast**d! Nannan just woke up, what are you croaking about! Let the villagers gossip; we live our own lives, not for others. Why should you care what those idle people say? Besides, as Nannan’s third aunt, if they say bad things about her, you should stand up for her and fight back! Instead, you’re yelling at everyone in the house! You’re so biased, do you even act like a proper third aunt?”

Qin Baishi stood in front of Yun Zheng like a protective mother hen, looking at her third daughter as if she were an enemy. Her Nannan had just been heartbroken by Xu Tianzhi, and she hadn’t dared to mention it, afraid of upsetting her.

This Qin Shuanglu really knew how to rub salt in the wound; what if Nannan tried to kill herself again?

Most importantly, Nannan seemed to have figured something out after waking up and had even started caring about her grandmother. What if she went back to her old ways after this yelling?

Thinking about it, she glanced worriedly at Yun Zheng behind her. Seeing that her beloved granddaughter seemed unaffected, she breathed a slight sigh of relief.

“I don’t know if I acted like a proper third aunt, but I do know that Qin Yunzheng is completely unbecoming of a member of the Qin family!”

Qin Shuanglu said through gritted teeth, her voice filled with resentment.

“For so many years, she hasn’t cared about the lives of our family members at all, only caring about supporting that group of people from the Cheng family! She’s racked her brains to give all the food and supplies in the family to the Cheng family. This kind of money-losing good-for-nothing doesn’t deserve your heartfelt devotion!”

She really couldn’t understand it. Everyone says that girls are drawn to the outside world, but this girl is clearly a money-losing good-for-nothing. Whoever spoils them is a fool, not to mention Qin Yunzheng, whose heart was already biased before she even got married, yet Qin Baishi treated her like a treasure!

“Qin Shuanglu, have you said enough?!” Qin Bai’s mother was truly enraged, her brows furrowed as she coldly rebuked, “Don’t think that just because you’re grown up I won’t dare to beat you! Nannan is my precious darling! If anyone’s a money-loser, it’s you! I can spoil my granddaughter as I please, it’s none of your business to talk nonsense!”

Qin Shuanglu’s eyes reddened when she saw the steamed egg custard and white rice in front of Yun Zheng, her voice becoming shrill and extremely indignant, “Mom, what kind of situation is our family in now? We’re all starving, and you’re still feeding her white rice and eggs! You’re just feeding her dog’s stomach! What good is it if you’re good to her? She only thinks about the Cheng family, about her father and grandmother over there! What are you, her maternal grandmother? Maybe she even resents you for taking away her family time with her grandmother.”

Qin Baishi’s expression stiffened upon hearing this, and the bitterness that flashed across her cloudy eyes was caught by Yun Zheng, who immediately felt a tightness in her chest, an unbearable discomfort.

Qin Shuanglu wasn’t wrong. The Qin family was large, and the whole family was united and hardworking. Before the original owner’s personality changed, the Qin family was the wealthiest in the village.

In an era when they were stingy with cooking oil and ate only plain vegetables every day, the Qin family could still afford to eat meat every few days.

But even the best family fortune couldn’t withstand the original owner’s frequent acts of subsidizing outsiders.

The original owner drained the Qin family dry like a vampire, ultimately causing Qin Baishi to die of illness due to severe depletion from years of malnutrition.

And yet, the original owner still blamed Qin Baishi for being incompetent, not even bothering to see her one last time.

Qin Shuanglu saying the original owner was a traitor was an understatement; being heartless and ungrateful was the original owner’s motto.
