“Hello, what are you looking at?”

Two girls were watching a video excitedly and quietly, each wearing an earphone, when they heard a deep, magnetic voice behind them.

They turned around— and oh my god, it was a handsome man with extraordinary bearing.

The girl who was promoting Amway said apologetically, “Yes, I’m sorry, did we disturb you? We’ll just speak more quietly…”

The man shook his head.

“What are you looking at? Who is Jiang Shining?”

The girl was taken aback. Looking at this handsome guy, who clearly had a straight-man appearance, was he also interested in young, pretty boys?

“Oh, I see, this is…”

But since it was a handsome guy who asked the question, the two of them immediately started explaining enthusiastically. They originally wanted Chen Tanliang to search for it himself, but internet access wasn’t allowed on the plane, so the girl with the iPad adjusted the progress bar.

“Look, this is Jiang Shining, the president of an entertainment company. Ninglu Media is currently training artists while investing in self-produced variety shows and movies, etc…” As a fan of her future mother-in-law, the girl still dutifully recommended the company. She couldn’t bring herself to get this seemingly serious handsome man to watch idol auditions, so she said, “Our Ninglu is releasing a movie soon; you can check it out if you’re interested…”

Chen Tanliang seemed to have lost track of the girl’s voice; his gaze was completely fixed on the screen. The paused video showed the guests’ seats. A young yet elegant female boss, dressed in a black dress, looked flawless, even in the recorded video. Most importantly, her calm and serene demeanor was unlike that of a woman in her early twenties.

Chen Tanliang slowly leaned back in his seat. He had always been sensitive to women with the surname Jiang, but now, his heart was pounding like a drum. Her image was still echoing in his mind.

Although this female CEO was more beautiful and striking, the feeling she gave off was… too similar to Jiang Yiru’s.

Chen Tanliang’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, and his chest heaved.

But how could that be?

Could it be… that she was reincarnated too? Is such a coincidence even possible?

Sensing Chen Tanliang’s unusual behavior, Chen Ruozhi closed her book and turned to look at him.

“Brother, what’s wrong?”

Chen Tanliang opened his mouth but said nothing.

He himself couldn’t believe his own guess, and there was no way to find out now. Telling Chen Ruozhi was pointless; it would only add another person to suffer on the plane.

…Besides, since it were his guesses and assumptions, he would prefer to bear this disappointment alone.

“It’s alright, look.”

Chen Ruozhi was slightly startled; in just a few minutes, Chen Tanliang’s voice sounded a little hoarse.

She suspected it might be related to Chen Tanliang’s question about the person in the front seat, so she comforted him, “I know you’ve always been interested in women with the surname Jiang, but… Tanliang, I understand how you feel, but you also need to let yourself off the hook…”

Ever since Jiang Yiru died in his previous life, Chen Tanliang had always seemed to have a knot in his heart.

He was at odds with himself.

He felt that he, or rather the entire Chen family mansion, owed his mother a debt.

Chen Ruozhi’s love and longing for her mother were no less than Chen Tanliang’s, but as the eldest son, Chen Tanliang willingly shouldered more responsibility. He was too upright and sometimes got stuck on trivial matters. Chen Ruozhi, on the other hand, didn’t have as much pressure. She read more, which broadened her horizons and made her more open-minded, allowing her to see things more clearly than Chen Tanliang.

Chen Tanliang didn’t explain anything. He closed his eyes and then nodded slightly.

After a grueling flight over the United States, the plane finally landed several hours later. As soon as he stepped off the plane, Chen Tanliang took out his phone.

Chen Ruozhi originally wanted to take a taxi, but when she turned her head, she saw Chen Tanliang standing in the midst of people coming and going. His figure was upright and stubborn, like a tall pine tree.

“Brother,” Chen Ruozhi said helplessly.

Chen Tanliang tried searching for the name using a foreign browser, but couldn’t find anything, perhaps due to a typo. He stared at the screen, his handsome brows furrowed tightly.

Just then, the tour group came out behind him, so he stood there and waited, his eyes scanning the crowd. Finally, he spotted the two girls coming out and walked over to them.

“Hello, may I ask what characters are in her name?” he asked. “What software is currently popular in Country C?”

The two girls were momentarily dazzled by him. They hadn’t been able to see him clearly while sitting, only noticing he was quite handsome. Now, face to face, they realized Chen Tanliang was tall, strikingly handsome, and had a great presence; so their faces immediately flushed. He seemed even more handsome than some celebrities.

They didn’t know why Chen Tanliang was so interested in a boss, but they were completely smitten by him and might even have given him their bank password. The two of them typed Jiang Shining’s name into their phone’s memo app and introduced him to popular apps in China, such as Weibo, Xuanyuan Video, WeChat, and DN, making sure everything was arranged clearly for him.

Chen Tanliang thanked them and then started fiddling with his phone again.

Helpless, Chen Ruozhi walked to his side.

“Tanliang, it’s so cold by the roadside. You can search after you get in the car.”

Chen Tanliang didn’t say anything. He just stood there downloading the software. The two girls told him that the latest information could be found on Weibo, so he opened the downloaded software and typed Jiang Shining’s name into the box.

Chen Tanliang was tall, and the phone he was holding was level with the top of Chen Ruozhi’s head. She didn’t see anything, but she heard Chen Tanliang gasp.

“…Look, isn’t it her? Isn’t it her??”

For once, Chen Tanliang asked Chen Ruozhi in an uncharacteristic tone.

Chen Ruozhi took the phone, glanced at it, and her mind went blank.

Their mother, Jiang Yiru, wasn’t particularly beautiful, but she had delicate features and a good temperament. This woman from humble beginnings possessed a refined elegance reminiscent of a wealthy young lady; in Chen Jiacheng’s later words, she had class.

This Jiang Shining was much prettier and more beautiful, with delicate features.

However, the feeling she gave off and the look in her eyes, were so, so familiar to Chen Ruozhi.

Neither the brother nor sister could describe the feeling, but a child would never forget his mother’s charm.

“So alike, so very alike…” Chen Ruozhi murmured.

Those eyebrows, those eyes…

Chen Ruozhi was a little flustered. She was a woman who had seen a lot of the world and achieved a lot, but at this moment, her heart was pounding.

“Brother… Brother, what should we do? Is she really our mother?” Panicked, Chen Ruozhi couldn’t help but lean on Chen Tanliang.

Chen Tanliang put his arm around her shoulder, as if to comfort her. Chen Ruozhi looked up and saw Chen Tanliang pursing his thin lips, his eyes reddening.

“I knew it… my persistence was right…” he murmured to himself, like a down-on-his-luck young man.

The two were so confused that they didn’t care about watching the carnival.

They left the airport by car and entered the city. The Christmas atmosphere became even stronger. Christmas songs were playing on the streets, and some pedestrians were wearing Santa hats, while others were giving roses and small gifts to passersby.

The lively atmosphere drifted past Chen Tanliang’s ears but didn’t linger in his eyes at all. Until the car stopped in front of the hotel.

His mind was hazy; his hands instinctively reached out to check with the front desk, obtained the room key, and led Chen Ruozhi into the elevator…

After entering the suite and closing the door, both of them fell silent. Without even speaking, one sat on the edge of the bed, while the other opened his laptop on the table and silently began researching.

Chen Tanliang silently scrolled through Weibo, looking at each piece of information about Jiang Shining. The numerous photos and videos taken by fans at the awards ceremony made him increasingly certain that Jiang Shining was Jiang Yiru.

He scrolled for a long time and saw many unfamiliar terms. For example, Ninglu Media, 4T, Longteng Tianxia, Xiu Lingfei, and actor Zhang Sujin, etc…

After Chen Tanliang put down his phone, his long, slender fingers seemed to tremble.

The excitement of disbelief, and the anxiety and retreat of fear of eventual disappointment.

He looked up and met Chen Ruozhi’s trembling eyes.

“…What do we do?” she asked, her voice trembling.

Chen Tanliang turned his head to look at the scenery outside the floor-to-ceiling window. He then closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

“—Go to Country C!”
