Whenever an exam involved the entire grade, the school followed the standard exam schedule, even monthly exams.

To prevent cheating, the school took many precautions, so the exam rooms were randomly assigned for each exam. All students in all classes were randomly assigned to exam rooms and seats to prevent two familiar students from sharing questions and copying.

Luze High School always prioritized fairness and impartiality in its exams; any form of cheating was thus a serious crime. Those caught would face expulsion, ranging from initial suspension to outright expulsion.

In the school’s words, they could accept students who weren’t academically outstanding, but they would never condone a cheater or fraudster.

Because the exam rooms were randomly assigned, all students must clear everything from their desks the night before the exam, leaving nothing behind. Seating arrangements were also organized to accommodate other students arriving the next day.

Yan Han didn’t take this monthly exam very seriously and hadn’t even studied specifically beforehand.

With his new skill, nicknamed “Fatigue Swept Away,” he no longer needed to go to bed early. He did a lot of tests this week. Since he didn’t need to constantly store fatigue points— for example, during meals, leading exercises, and PE class— even if he felt tired, he didn’t need to store them. After all, these weren’t times when he needed to use his brain, so feeling tired didn’t matter.

15 hours a day was more than enough.

The most amazing thing was that he could fully recover his energy and stamina with just two to three hours of sleep. So he didn’t feel tired all the time. Every morning, he woke up refreshed and full of energy, able to study for one or two hours before heading to the school building without relying on any special skill.

And he looked even more radiant than usual.

The stored fatigue points didn’t harm his body, meaning the skin damage and baldness caused by staying up late were gone.

His skin improved, and the dark circles and eye bags that he couldn’t get rid of no matter how much eye cream he used to apply gradually disappeared. He became radiant overall. Even with his bruised eyes, Yan Han was still the most beautiful girl in the whole school. Now, walking with an increasingly confident stride, he was a striking sight wherever he went!

Coincidentally, he was assigned to Class 14 for the monthly exam, and he was recognized as soon as he appeared at the third-floor stairwell.

There were still about twenty minutes before the exam, and everyone was on their way to their exam rooms. The corridor was quite chaotic, but as soon as Yan Han reached the third floor, people immediately came over to greet him.

They were two girls from his former class. They had known each other for half a year, and although he hadn’t interacted much with other classmates, he still remembered the people and things from Class 14.

From the two girls, he learned that Wen Juerong and the class monitor hadn’t gone to their exam rooms yet and were still waiting for him in the classroom.

As Yan Han approached Class 14, he heard a shout of “Here you are!” from afar, and Wen Juerong waddled over with his chubby body.

He still walked with that same affected gait, his voice still affectedly sweet, always striking a pose with his pinky fingers— his behavior and temperament were completely at odds with his appearance.

However, it had been a while since Yan Han had seen him, and he missed his little brother quite a bit.

“Brother Yan!” Wen Juerong called out enthusiastically, initially smiling, but then exclaiming in surprise upon seeing Yan Han: “Wow! How come your skin looks even better after just a few days?! What an incredible face! I heard you’ve been studying until midnight lately, doesn’t staying up all night even make a goddess ugly?”

Wen Juerong then rested his chin on his hand, deep in thought.

Yan Han was taken aback by the word “goddess,” thinking that he really hadn’t seen Wen Juerong for too long; this guy had even forgotten all his manners.

However, Wen Juerong’s words resonated with others. One of the girls watching the commotion said, “You don’t understand! That’s what you call natural beauty. Otherwise, how could she be called the school beauty?”

“No, I believe in naturally good skin, but I don’t believe anyone’s skin can withstand the ravages of staying up all night!” Wen Juerong even started arguing with the person next to her, “It must be because Yan-ge secretly used a face mask! Yan-ge, tell me quickly, what good stuff have you been using behind my back?!”

Yan Han: “…”

Well, Yan Han was initially a little sentimental about returning to the class he had spent half a year in. Even though all the classrooms had the same layout, the clock hanging in front of the podium and the handwriting on the walls from previous students were always different.

And the green plants on the windowsill, the view outside through the windows…

But Wen Juerong’s interference completely erased that slight emotional turmoil.

Yan Han raised the corner of his lips at him: “There are still fifteen minutes left before the exam papers are handed out. Aren’t you going to take the exam?”

“Oh right, I need to go to the bathroom first!” Hugging his water bottle and pencil case tightly with his two chubby hands, Wen Juerong looked like a giant groundhog.

The giant groundhog wanted to run to the bathroom, but before that, he thought of something and said, “I’m in the next class, Class 15. Yan-ge, let’s go out for lunch together after the exam.”

“Sure,” Yan Han said.

“Didn’t Brother Lin come down with you? Why don’t you ask him to come with you at noon?”

“He’s taking the exam upstairs,” Yan Han said. “…Okay, I’ll let him know later.”

“Great!… See, our Brother Yan has more influence, even ‘notifying’ Brother Lin…”

The class monitor quickly chimed in, “Yeah, yeah, we have to ask and invite Brother Lin before we can have lunch with him… hahaha!”

Yan Han: “…”

His face instantly darkening, Yan Han clenched his fist: “Are you going to the bathroom or not?”

“Ah, right, right!” Wen Juerong said, running away with a booming laugh. The class monitor also sheepishly carried his things upstairs.

Yan Han entered the classroom, found his seat corresponding to his exam number, and laid out his pens and stationery on the table.

The morning exams were Chinese and Physics. Answering the Chinese exam was simple; all he needed was a black ballpoint pen and a roll of transparent tape.

However, answering physics questions was a bit more troublesome, requiring tools like rulers and calculators, but Yan Han was too lazy to use a pencil case; he simply grabbed whatever he needed and brought it into the exam room— concise and efficient.

The first exam, Chinese, went relatively smoothly.

Yan Han’s efforts in Chinese so far had been limited to memorizing classical poems and texts; he relied on improvisation for other areas like reading comprehension and composition, resulting in inconsistent performance.

However, these skills required consistent practice, and Lin Jianlu had mentioned that in the second semester of senior year, he could hire an experienced teacher to guide him on writing compositions and answering reading comprehension questions, so Yan Han wasn’t worried at all and didn’t care about his score in this subject.

The next exam, physics, was where he truly excelled.

After a twenty-minute break following the Chinese exam, the physics exam began. Just before it started, the proctor rushed in with the exam papers. Yan Han recognized him immediately; it was the math teacher who had taught him for a semester on the third floor.

The chubby math teacher still had a kind appearance and spoke in a gentle tone. As he unpacked the math papers, he told the students, “Our exam is about to begin. Anyone with books, papers, workbooks, or notes, please bring them to the front. Don’t keep them to yourself; the proctors will be checking later.”

Although the break was only twenty minutes, it didn’t stop some students from cramming.

Some had just had their Chinese papers collected when they pulled out their workbooks and started frantically reviewing the questions they didn’t know.

It’s said that the material reviewed right before the exam is most memorable; maybe a quick glance at the questions they didn’t know would be the perfect answer— wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Another reason is that while others are studying, you’re not. Being in such a tense environment makes time feel incredibly long, so it’s better to study along with others. Therefore, many people don’t easily waste these twenty minutes.

Even Yan Han took out his notebook of incorrect answers and reviewed it after the Chinese exam.

He wasn’t hoping to cram at the last minute; he simply didn’t want to waste those twenty minutes.

Others could go to the restroom or something to kill time after the exam, but for him, a trip to the restroom wouldn’t even take a second. So, those twenty minutes were a huge chunk of time for him, equivalent to half a class period— there was no reason to waste it!

But now the teacher told everyone to bring their things to the front to prepare for the next exam, so he stood up with the rest of the group and brought his notebook to the front.

Back at his seat, the proctor reiterated that no books or papers related to the exam were allowed on the seats and asked everyone to check again.

After this reiteration, no one went forward to bring anything, and only then did he begin distributing the exam papers.

Just as the exam papers were almost all handed out, the bell rang for the next exam. Yan Han tore off the scrap paper that was stapled to his paper and began working on the multiple-choice questions.

Although physics wasn’t his strong suit, its inherent difficulty meant he put in just as much effort as he did on math for it.

He never slacked off on this subject, both in and out of class. He had already completed three multiple-choice questions, all of which he knew. After glancing at the other question types, Yan Han had a general idea of what to expect and began working on the fourth multiple-choice question.

Time flew by as he focused on answering the questions. His tireless work and the effort he put into a deep, focused state of mind made his head exceptionally clear. He answered quickly, moving on to the fill-in-the-blank questions while others were still working on the multiple-choice ones, and to the smaller calculation problems while others were working on the fill-in-the-blank ones.

Time passed without him realizing it. Just as Yan Han began working on the second smaller calculation problem and wrote “Solution” on his paper, the grade head, wearing an invigilator’s badge around his neck, and two other school leaders of unknown rank entered the exam room of Class 14.

They glanced around the doorway and then headed straight for Yan Han.

The three of them walked towards him aggressively, instantly attracting the attention of the other students.

Yan Han, almost completely obscured from view, didn’t notice their arrival until the head of the grade walked up to his desk, snatched his test paper, and then, along with the two teachers behind her, stood there looking at it.

….

The atmosphere suddenly became tense. The other students, confused, looked at each other, asking, “What’s wrong?”

Even the proctor was somewhat bewildered.

“Everyone else, be quiet and continue answering your questions,” the head of the grade shouted, and the entire examination room fell silent instantly.

Then she looked at the papers around her, her brows furrowing deeper and deeper.

“I see that the people around you haven’t even started the first question yet, and you’ve already started the second?” she asked Yan Han, her tone clearly questioning.

As soon as she finished speaking, she suddenly bent down, reached out, and began rummaging through the desk facing outwards where Yan Han was sitting, as if looking for something.

Not only that, she also said to Yan Han, “Someone reported that they saw you cheating. Stand up for a moment… put your hands outside so the teacher can see your chair.”
