To kneel or not to kneel?

That was the question.

If this was just a scene, kneeling wouldn’t be a big deal, but looking at the silver-haired priest above, Lei Qie was conflicted and didn’t want to kneel.

He had just said he would suppress this kid a few minutes ago, and now he was going to kneel to him? Wouldn’t that be a slap in his own face? Even though everyone understands that acting isn’t real, the biggest slap in the face in a play is using acting skills to completely overwhelm the other person!

Lei Qie could sense that Si Huang was planning this.

Right, doesn’t this kid like to lead the scene? If I don’t kneel, will he back down to keep the scene going? A flash of inspiration struck Lei Qie, and he decided to stay still and see how Si Huang would react.

Time slowly passed, and even the director, Xiao Jin, thought that Si Huang would improvise for the sake of the whole scene, like he did with the Queen yesterday, but he didn’t react at all.

Continuing like this was pointless.

“Cut!” Xiao Jin had to stop the scene, indicating that filming was out of order. He glanced at Si Huang first, then fixed his gaze on Lei Qie. “What do you have to say?”

Lei Qie wasn’t foolish enough to blame Si Huang, and said frankly, “Can’t you change the script? I’m a prince, after all. There’s no reason for me to kneel before a charlatan.”

A water bottle was thrown at him, accompanied by Xiao Jin’s icy voice squeezed out from between his teeth, “Even if you become an emperor, you’ll still have to kneel before him! Will you kneel or not?”

Lei Qie pouted, saying he didn’t understand Xiao Jin, and turned to Si Huang, “Aren’t you very good at changing scripts? I just won’t kneel, does that mean you can’t act?”

Si Huang, having passed the ball, revealed a mocking smile, “If this is all the awareness you have as an actor, I advise you to leave this industry as soon as possible.”

“What?” Lei Qie didn’t expect to be provoked like this.

“Can’t you understand human language, newbie?” Si Huang relaxed her hands and feet, still not leaving her seat, still dressed as a priest, but revealing the sharp edge of youth. Her slightly tilted head and raised chin exuded a cold and noble arrogance. “I’ll repeat myself, what I mean is, you’re nothing special.”

Nothing special, nothing at all!

Lei Qie grinned, revealing his white teeth. This was truly a case of being provoked instead of provoking. Should he say he misjudged him, or should he say that he was truly an actor, his change of expression had truly caught him off guard!

“I learned this kind of provocation when I was eight!”

“Pfft.” Si Huang laughed heartily, the smile in her narrowed eyes full of mockery. “Oh, then you’re really something.”

“…” For the first time, Lei Qie realized that a smile from a man could be so beautiful, yet so repulsive. The combination of the two made his head ache.

The surrounding Xiao Jin and the others remained silent, actually shocked by Si Huang’s sudden change in demeanor. They had always thought Si Huang was a very good-tempered person, never expecting her to be so easily infuriating when she turned on people.

Only Yu Xi and Le Xian remained relatively calm. The former already understood most of Si Huang’s true nature, while the latter, as Si Huang’s defeated opponent, always knew he was not someone to be trifled with.

“Let’s continue if you’ve had enough,” Xiao Jin said, interrupting their standoff as Lei Qie seemed ready to make a move. “Lei Qie, what do you say?”

What could he say? To act or not to act? To kneel or not to kneel? The question had returned to its original point!

Lei Qie’s face was grim, and just when everyone thought he would give up, he suddenly grinned. “Act! How can I let a senior look down on me? I can’t wait to see him defeated by me.”

It sounded like a perfectly reasonable statement, but the word “senior” was emphasized heavily.

As someone who had acted in two more dramas than him, Si Huang naturally accepted the title of “senior.” “No one has ever done more than three takes with me so far. I hope you won’t break that record.”

Lei Qie’s teeth itched; he really wanted to bite someone.

Having received Lei Qie’s affirmation, Xiao Jin ordered his men to reshoot the scene of the two entering.

Walking back into the luxurious palace, Lei Qie specifically looked at Si Huang. The boy who had just been provoking him, speaking words that could kill, had now transformed into the mysterious and noble archbishop of the temple.

His eyes no longer revealed any emotion; they were clear and deep, seemingly bottomless. Lei Qie thought this person was incredibly good at pretending. He desperately wanted to see through his hypocrisy, but the more he tried, the deeper he sank into those dark eyes, sinking deeper and deeper, as if into a dark, green field.

To Xiao Jin and the others, all they saw was Lei Qie’s unusual dark golden eyes, shining like two small suns, staring intently at the silver-haired priest on the high seat, seemingly oblivious to time and space, lost in his own world. An outsider would easily mistake him for a fanatical believer.

“What are you doing? Kneel down now!” the minister’s voice rang out again.

This time, Lei Qie seemed startled for a moment, then…

“Thump—”

His knees hit the ground.

The dull thud made the staff outside wince; this was a genuine kneeling, the kind where knees slam into the floor!

“Your Excellency, this is His Highness the Crown Prince, who has been separated from the royal family since childhood. Don’t you see how similar he looks to His Majesty in his youth? These eyes are proof of his pure royal blood!” the kneeling minister said devoutly.

“Oh.” A magnificent voice came from above, its gentle and ethereal tone instantly calming those who heard it.

At the filming location, Finn said to Xiao Jin, “I’ve heard his song ‘Red Moon.’ How can he know so much? Even if he weren’t an actor, he could be a singer, and even as a voice actor, he would be very marketable.”

“There are so many people in the world, there will always be some who can’t be understood by common sense,” Xiao Jin said. “He knows how to utilize his natural advantages and constantly refines them through his own efforts. He’s spent just as much time and energy on this as anyone else, so his success is only natural.”

Finn nodded in agreement, his gaze never leaving the filming location.
