“Wait! Brother Long, don’t attack!” Fu Ke, unable to stop the first attack, quickly stopped Qin Long when she saw Qin Long about to attack Lan Zhi again.

The skinny man, carrying a kitchen knife like a giant sword, leaned against the door with a smile, showing no intention of intervening, even though he had promised Fu Ke he wouldn’t harm Lan Zhi.

But he certainly wouldn’t help Lan Zhi, secretly wishing Brother Long’s lightning bolt would strike Lan Zhi dead.

“He won’t hurt anyone,” Fu Ke said, stopping Qin Long.

Qin Long frowned: “He’s a zombie…” His voice trailed off. He had noticed Fu Ke’s eyes were strange earlier, and now he saw them again.

“You…” Qin Long stared at Fu Ke in shock. She had stopped him from attacking the zombie, and her eyes were red, so bright red that it seemed as if blood was flowing through them.

Fu Ke released Qin Long’s hand: “Yes, I’m a zombie too. Brother Long, are you going to kill me?”

Upon hearing Fu Ke’s words, the skinny man, who had previously acted as if it were none of his business, immediately stood up straight, watching Qin Long warily. He seemed to be on guard against Qin Long suddenly attacking. Lan Zhi, seeing the commotion, lowered his blood-red eyes. He looked down at Ya Ya, whom he was holding in his arms, and made a hoarse sound.

Ya Ya patted Lan Zhi’s arm: “Ya Ya’s okay, thank you, brother!”

A bright smile appeared on her cute little face.

Lan Zhi stiffened, carefully putting the child down, afraid that his fingernails would scratch her.

Qiu Yi, who was washing vegetables, looked up. The sound of lightning striking the ground hadn’t made him move, but now he looked up, staring intently at Fu Ke outside the door.

Zombies…

After being put down by Lan Zhi, Ya Ya squatted down next to Qiu Yi. Children liked to play with kids their own age, and everyone here was an adult, except for Qiu Yi, who wasn’t much older than her.

So, Ya Ya instinctively liked to stay close to Qiu Yi.

As for danger, she wasn’t afraid at all, because her sister was the most powerful person in the world, so what was there to be afraid of?

However, the atmosphere outside the door froze. Qin Long felt his mind go blank. She was a zombie? How could she be a zombie!

The skinny man was on guard. If it were his brother Long from his previous life, he wouldn’t have to worry at all. But his brother Long hadn’t been reborn, so that was a different story.

Fu Ke quietly looked at Qin Long, seemingly oblivious to the struggle in Qin Long’s eyes, and asked like a curious child, “Brother Long?”

Qin Long suddenly snapped back to reality and instinctively took two steps back. It was these two steps that made Fu Ke’s bloodshot eyes dim.

He was Brother Long, and yet he wasn’t Brother Long.

He wasn’t the Brother Long she knew. Fu Ke slowly smiled, “I understand, Brother Long, please leave. You’re not welcome here.”

Heaven knows how painful it was for Fu Ke to say those words to that face.

The skinny man stared at Fu Ke, opened his mouth, but remained silent. He just glanced at Brother Long, saying nothing.

“I’m not…” Qin Long wanted to explain but didn’t know what to say. How could she be a zombie? How could she be a zombie?

Qin Long was somewhat dazed, but Fu Ke had already pulled the skinny man inside and closed the glass door. Although the glass door couldn’t block his view, it had forcibly separated two worlds.

He suddenly had a feeling that if he left today, he would never have any contact with Fu Ke again.

But he really couldn’t accept the fact that she was a zombie.

Qin Long had always known that Fu Ke was mysterious and had many secrets, but that didn’t include her being a zombie.

He stood frozen at the entrance of the Exclusive Restaurant, the aroma of beef bone soup and hot pot wafting through the air. Qin Long stood at the door, seemingly oblivious to his sense of smell, his eyes lifeless.

“Skinny, once the ingredients are ready, take them upstairs,” Fu Ke said expressionlessly.

Skinny glanced at her, then reached out and pressed Fu Ke’s head: “I’ll come too.”

He then went to fetch the ingredients.

Her clothes were tugged, and Fu Ke looked down at Qiu Yi, who had grown considerably taller.

“Sister Fu, are you really a zombie?” Qiu Yi asked, looking at her.

Fu Ke nodded: “Yes, I’m a zombie. From the very beginning, I’ve been a zombie. Qiu Yi, are you scared? If you are, you can go back.”

Go back where? Naturally, to the base.

The hand gripping Fu Ke’s clothes tightened, and he shook his head: “Then, I’m not afraid. Mom said to listen to Sister Fu, and to follow Sister Fu. I’ll be a good boy and follow Sister Fu obediently.”

Fu Ke’s heart softened instantly, and a faint smile appeared on her lips, but it was fleeting: “Okay, I understand. If you’re willing to follow me, I’ll take good care of you. I promised your mother. Let’s go, upstairs.”

However, Qiu Yi stood still, still tightly gripping Fu Ke’s clothes.

“What’s wrong?” Fu Ke looked at Qiu Yi with confusion, her tone not very kind; she was still feeling very sad. Brother Long and Skinny were the most important people in her past life.

Even after being reborn, they were still the most important people in her heart.

How could she not be sad now?

“Sister Fu, you’re a zombie. Then can we find Teacher Lin?” Qiu Yi looked at Fu Ke expectantly, her eyes glistening with tears.

Teacher Lin? Lin Yiyi?

“Lin Yiyi? Isn’t she on the base?” Fu Ke asked curiously.

Qiu Yi glanced at the skinny man coming downstairs and immediately fell silent, his lips pressed tightly together.

“Everything’s ready, we can eat now,” the skinny man said to them from the stairs.

Fu Ke looked at the skinny man, then at Qiu Yi, and ruffled his hair. “Is this related to Skinny?”

When they left the base, it wasn’t just the skinny man and Qiu Yi who left; Lin Yiyi, who was worried about Qiu Yi, also went with them. Lin Yiyi was kind-hearted; she would share her food with people she encountered on the road and then guide them to the D City base. To the skinny man, Xiao Bai’s acts of saving people were acts of kindness, while others’ were seen as trouble.

Even though he found Lin Yiyi troublesome, the skinny man didn’t abandon her.

However, one time, a woman Lin Yiyi saved pushed her towards zombies. But because Lin Yiyi had been sharing food with others along the way, she had been constantly hungry and couldn’t withstand a fever, turning into a zombie. After Lin Yiyi became a zombie, the skinny man wanted to get rid of her. But Qiu Yi stubbornly refused, and during that time, Skinny gave him a cold shoulder, though he ultimately didn’t kill Lin Yiyi.

At first, Qiu Yi couldn’t accept that Lin Yiyi had become a zombie, but he gradually recovered. Now, hearing Fu Ke admit she was a zombie, Qiu Yi gradually felt hopeful.

If Sister Fu could be like a human, then could Teacher Lin too?

The skinny man hadn’t told Fu Ke that Lin Yiyi was with them when they left the base, so Fu Ke had no idea about Lin Yiyi. Hearing Qiu Yi’s words, she turned and looked at the skinny man.

The person on the stairs stood with his arms crossed, showing no remorse whatsoever, as if Qiu Yi was talking about someone unrelated to him.

Of course, to the skinny man, Lin Yiyi was indeed insignificant.

Fu Ke ruffled Qiu Yi’s hair, letting out a heavy sigh: “Yes, Sister Fu will help you find Teacher Lin.”

After a moment’s thought, she added, “If Lin Yiyi isn’t dead yet.”

If Lin Yiyi had been killed by a human, even with Fu Ke’s immense abilities, she couldn’t bring her back to life.

Qiu Yi’s grip tightened, a smile spreading across his face: “Thank you, Sister Fu.”

“Tch, troublesome.” The skinny man glanced at Qiu Yi, but Qiu Yi avoided Fu Ke’s gaze and gave him a smug smile.

“…” Fu Ke.

She wanted to tell Qiu Yi, “Do you think I can’t see that?”

Everything was prepared upstairs. A large stainless steel pot sat atop the induction cooker, filled with beef bone broth and stir-fried hot pot ingredients. The aroma was irresistible, making one’s mouth water.

“So spicy…” Ya Ya’s eyes welled up with tears from the spiciness.

Qiu Yi glanced silently at Ya Ya, whose cheeks were flushed and eyes were watering from the spiciness, and poured her some spring water into a paper cup: “Wash yourself before you eat.”

Ribs, chicken feet, duck feet, duck intestines, chicken intestines, pork ribs, beef, shrimp, tripe…

They brought out several of those stacked washbasin racks from the supermarket, each densely packed with vegetables. Before the apocalypse, this would have been enough for ten people.

Even now, the three of them— Skinny, Ya Ya and Qiu Yi— wouldn’t be able to finish it.

Fu Ke and Lan Zhi sat at the table watching them eat. Lan Zhi sniffed the food, then turned his head away and sneezed loudly, clearly disgusted by the smell.

Looking at Lan Zhi, Fu Ke took out a crystal core and gave it to him.

However, Lan Zhi didn’t eat it; he just stared at Fu Ke for a long time.

The skinny man squinted sharply at Lan Zhi and said to Fu Ke, “What is he saying?”

“He said he wants to find the crystal cores himself, as he feels bad about eating and staying for free.” Fu Ke silently took back the crystal core and said to Lan Zhi, “Okay, but don’t eat people. After all, you were once human too.”

Lan Zhi looked at Fu Ke and slowly nodded.

He then jumped out of the window and left.

The skinny man sneered and said, “Xiao Bai, you believe him? I can tell you, in his previous life, he didn’t eat human flesh. He drank blood and ate crystal cores.”

Fu Ke tilted his head and looked at the skinny man, thinking for a while before suddenly remembering, “In his previous life, besides Lan Zhi, was there a Lan Sheng?”

“Lan Sheng? Who?” The skinny man was stunned.

Ya Ya looked up at Fu Ke: “Sister, what about the past life?”

“…” Fu Ke looked down at Ya Ya’s curious gaze and Qiu Yi’s strange look.

“Don’t ask if you don’t understand,” Qiu Yi said, ruffling Ya Ya’s hair.

“Huh? But don’t they say you have to ask if you don’t understand?” Ya Ya turned to Qiu Yi, looking at her strangely, though her attention was drawn to Qiu Yi.

“Eat your food.” Qiu Yi placed a piece of beef in Ya Ya’s bowl, rinsed it in mineral water, and then put it in Ya Ya’s bowl.

“Oh…” Ya Ya nodded.

Qiu Yi looked up at Fu Ke: “Sister Fu, don’t worry.”

As for what she was worried about, Qiu Yi didn’t say. But his mental energy fluctuations were normal, and Fu Ke understood what he meant by reassuring her.

Fu Ke smiled. Actually, it didn’t seem so bad that people knew about her rebirth. She wasn’t just the most powerful person in the world. She was also the Zombie Queen.

If she were human, she would probably be afraid. But she was a zombie. Besides being powerful herself, she could command all zombies.

Zombies were clearly ranked; unless they were only one rank lower, they all had to obey her orders.

“Okay, I believe you.” Fu Ke smiled, looking at the skinny man: “Lan Sheng is Lan Zhi’s brother, and they have a very good relationship.”

The skinny man shook his head: “I’ve never heard of Lan Sheng, nor have I ever seen him. But I don’t know if he existed in my past life, since he was wiped out by Lan Zhi not long after arriving in B City.”

Fu Ke unconsciously tapped the table.

“Gulp~”

Ya Ya picked up her chopsticks and grabbed some tripe: “Sister, eat.”

Fu Ke watched for a while, then suddenly opened her mouth and bit into the tripe.

“Xiao Bai!” The skinny man panicked, pulling her: “Spit it out!”

But Fu Ke chewed it, then swallowed it with a gulp.
