The answer to Luo Mi was yet another shadow.
When they emerged from another spot, Luo Mi persisted in persuading him: “He’s no longer the Holy Son, his wings have turned black. Why are you so wary of him? Have some faith in yourself, Lord.”
The Blackwing Lord glared at him again with his blood-red eyes and said coldly, “I don’t believe a single word you say.”
He reached out his hand, and the surrounding stones and trees were instantly enveloped in magic, melting like paint.
Luo Mi sighed: “I told you I am the real Lian, why won’t you believe me? You can bring out any methods you have to verify it.”
The Blackwing Lord scoffed: “The divinity that once resided in him has now found its way into you. Do you think I’d believe it?”
Luo Mi thought for a while before remembering that when the Blackwing Lord told him that ordinary demons couldn’t withstand sleeping with Anos, he mentioned that Anos possessed divine grace within him.
Later, Luo Mi suspected that these words might be a deliberate attempt to trick him, but now that he thought about it, Anos’s angelic halo might be the so-called “gift from God”… In this sense, Luo Mi really wasn’t sure how much the god had manipulated him.
He had a growing suspicion that the system was God!
That’s precisely why Luo Mi didn’t want the two Anos to waste their energy on meaningless infighting: “If that’s the case, shouldn’t you join forces with him to deal with me now?”
The Blackwing Lord glanced at him and said coldly, “You really want the two of us to deal with you together?”
“Doesn’t this sound a little off…” Luo Mi thought to himself, then sighed and said, “I just hope we can at least sit down and have a proper talk, just once, okay?”
“This kind of gorilla with only physical strength won’t be of any help.” The Blackwing Lord suddenly smiled. “After I beat him half to death, I don’t mind having a chat with him.”
After he finished speaking, he suddenly turned into a shadow and blended into the surrounding “paint”.
The paint rippled and solidified again into natural landscapes such as stones and trees, leaving Luo Mi standing alone in the same spot.
After becoming an angel, Luo Mi gained a certain understanding of the divine arts and magic of this world. She could tell that this was a trap set for Anos— the matter here had been modified by the Blackwing Lord with magic, and the damage here did not affect the body, but the soul.
To be able to set up such a magical trap in such a short time, Luo Mi thought to himself that it would probably take him several days even with the help of the Scepter of Glory.
But will this work on the Holy Son Anos?
Luo Mi raised his head as if sensing something and saw the fallen angel descending from the sky once again.
Anos, with his blue eyes, spread his wings and slowly descended, holding a branch that he had casually broken off from somewhere.
He gave Luo Mi a relieved smile, then threw the branch in his hand at a dark tree next to him.
The fragile branch, like a steel rod, pierced the black tree, then exploded under the immense force, blasting the tree in two!
The fragments twitched in the air, like specks of paint falling to the ground.
Anos smiled and landed on the ground without hesitation.
The earth melted instantly, like a Venus flytrap that had caught its prey, swallowing the fallen angel whole.
Luo Mi’s eyes widened instantly.
The entire area trembled, as if a volcano beneath the trees was gathering strength, waiting to erupt. This force startled the nearby animals— if monsters could be considered animals. Many strange-looking birds, bats, and insects fled in panic from the dark forest.
A moment later, the paint-like ground cracked open, “spitting out” two figures.
Anos had many scars on his cheeks and arms, the most serious being his right hand, which seemed to be broken and hung limply at his side. His clothes were also somewhat tattered. He spread his wings to maintain his balance.
The Blackwing Lord crept up to Luo Mi like a shadow, his fingernails lengthening as he aimed at Luo Mi’s throat. He was about to say something when he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
He coughed twice before staring at his other self: “If you don’t want your beloved succubus to die, you’d better not get close.”
After regaining his balance, Anos landed on the ground. His azure eyes remained as calm as ever as he said indifferently, “Since we are one, I believe you won’t really hurt Lian.”
That being said, he did indeed stand still and did not move closer.
Luo Mi looked at it and inexplicably felt like he was the one caught in the middle of a love triangle.
He sighed again: “You two are both seriously injured, and I think it’s really necessary for us to sit down and have a proper talk.”
The Blackwing Lord sneered, “Don’t even think about it.”
Anos glanced at him and said to Luo Mi indifferently, “People who threaten your safety are not worth talking to.”
“Then there’s nothing we can do…” Luo Mi sighed softly. A ball of flame appeared, igniting the black rope binding him and instantly burning the non-fireproof rope to ashes.
The Blackwing Lord instinctively sharpened his nails but ultimately did nothing.
In that brief moment of hesitation, a pure white holy light array bloomed beneath Luo Mi’s feet, enveloping both Anos.
Both Anos felt a sudden weakness, as if their power and magic had been temporarily sealed away.
If they were at their peak, or even just uninjured, they could easily break free from this level of power constraint. However, they had already fought to the point of exhaustion, and since the one who cast the spell was Luo Mi, they only instinctively tried to resist before being quickly suppressed by the magic array.
Luo Mi let out a breath— this was the principle he had deciphered from the black rope during his time being held hostage, and he had tried to reproduce it using divine power, with surprisingly good results.
“Now we should be able to have a proper talk…”
After finishing the first half of her sentence, Luo Mi looked at the pale-faced, swaying demon Anos beside her, and then at the holy son Anos, who was covered in blood and whose arm hung limply at his side, and sighed deeply.
“Of course, I’ll treat you first before that.”
