So many murders had occurred in Weizhou City, leaving him overwhelmed.

There were also many refugees outside the city who needed his care, yet his own residence was in chaos, like a marketplace.

Frustrated by everything, Governor Yu rubbed his forehead, his face grim.

“Alright, take her away.” Governor Yu waved his hand, ordering people to tidy up the house.

Huo Shi was so angry she couldn’t lift her arms. Two old women and Yu Pianpian helped her sit down again.

Yu Pianpian silently wept, holding Huo Shi’s cold hand.

Seeing her deeply wronged expression, Governor Yu turned to the calm and composed Yu Linlang. “You… sigh. Never mind, come out with me first.”

“You two tidy up the house and comfort Madam.”

“Pianpian, your sister just returned from the estate and isn’t familiar with the people and things in the manor. Please be tolerant of her and don’t hold a grudge.” Governor Yu sighed again, looking at the silently weeping Yu Pianpian.

“Father, how could I be angry with Linlang? I only beg her not to be upset with me.”

“Yu Shoudao, your daughter has been bullied like this by a lowly maid, and you think you can just let it go with a few words? You want my Pianpian to suffer in silence? No way!” Huo Shi clutched her chest in anger. “Look at her, look at her! This is the good daughter you raised outside!”

“Indulging a maid to insult her birth mother and sister and beating the servants in the house!”

“If her temperament isn’t properly tempered, she’ll bring a huge disaster to the family sooner or later!” Huo Shi scolded sternly, “Go get the family discipline! Go get the family discipline!!”

“Madam!” Yu Shoudao’s head was buzzing, feeling extremely annoyed. “I still have official business to attend to!”

“Go take care of your business. Leave her here. I will definitely discipline her properly today.”

Yu Shoudao looked troubled. “There was another murder at the Chang Le gambling house today. The victim’s face was unrecognizable. That’s why I came back to ask Linlang for help.”

“What help can a mere maid like her be?” Madam Huo’s voice trailed off, her eyes widening. “You want her to perform an autopsy? You actually believe a maid like her can do that?”

“The scene she caused in front of the manor today has already offended everyone in the Prefectural Governor’s mansion. Do you want her to continue making a fool of herself in front of Prince Mu and Lord Lu??”

Madam Huo was panting heavily with anger. When she looked up again and saw Yu Linlang’s expressionless face, as if she were a bystander, she almost fainted from anger.

Sure enough, this little beast was born to haunt her!

She had only been back for a few days, and she had almost driven her to the brink of collapse!

“You, you look at her! What kind of attitude is that? Are you mute? Why aren’t you saying a word??”

Her leisurely, spectator-like demeanor made her seem like a detached spectator watching a farce unfold.

Huo Shi’s fist landed on a pile of cotton, making no sound whatsoever. Feeling like a foolish, unreasonable woman, she was filled with rage and shame!

Yu Linlang glanced at her and said calmly, “You’re already this angry without me saying a word. If I were to stab you in the back, what if I angered you to death? Wouldn’t I be unjustly branded as having committed a matricide? It would do me no good whatsoever.”

“Linlang!” Governor Yu’s head throbbed. He suddenly realized that having many women in the manor wasn’t necessarily a good thing…

Yu Linlang’s expression remained calm, her voice soft and gentle, “I told you last time, anger damages the liver, so you need to be careful. Your constant anger and rage can cause head congestion, making you prone to fainting and incontinence.”

“I suggest you control your emotions, maintain a good mindset, and avoid excessive emotional excitement. Increased blood pressure can easily lead to paralysis, or even damage to the heart and kidneys. Worsening brain problems could even lead to heart failure and death.”

“Yu Linlang!!!!”

On the seventh day after returning to the manor, Miss Yu Linlang once again angered the First Madam to the point of fainting, shocking everyone in the household.

Suddenly, everyone felt that even a raging flood couldn’t compare to Miss Linlang.

Outside Yuxhun Garden, Yu Shoudao scrutinized his expressionless daughter for the first time.

She had watched her birth mother faint from her words, yet she showed no remorse or emotion whatsoever.

Was this child born heartless and cold-blooded?

“You shouldn’t have contradicted your mother again and again.”

“It was Madam who reprimanded me and forced me to speak,” Yu Linlang retorted sarcastically. “I’ve already tolerated this much; what more do you want from me?”

Yu Shoudao: ???

“You remain silent, yet you allow your maid to verbally and physically abuse your mother and sister. What do you intend to do? Stage a full-blown brawl in the manor?” Yu Shoudao pointed at her, sighing repeatedly. “You! That’s your own mother. No matter how much resentment you harbor towards her, you shouldn’t talk back like that.”

“Oh, I’ll keep quiet from now on.”

Yu Shoudao: !!!

“It’s not that you should keep quiet, but that you should be more respectful to your mother. Didn’t you see how angry your mother was today when she saw your arrogant attitude? This has nothing to do with whether you speak or not, do you understand?” Yu Shoudao took a breath. “Of course, it would be better if you spoke more gently.”

“It’s never wrong for a young lady to be as docile as your sister; it will be beneficial for you when you marry. Don’t always be so blunt; pay attention to your manner of speaking.”

Yu Linlang raised her eyes. Governor Yu thought she was about to say something, such as “Daughter understands,” or “Daughter feels very ashamed and will definitely correct herself in the future.”

She stared at him with her dark, cold eyes for a long time before finally giving a soft “hmm.”

Yu Shoudao finally understood the feeling of “punching a pile of cotton and getting so angry you fly to the sky”…

Yu Shoudao started to walk away, but after a few steps, he suddenly remembered his business and immediately turned back. He took a breath and patiently said, “Lord Lu and the others said that you have made great achievements in bone reading. Now I have a case that needs your help. You will come with me.”

Yu Linlang looked up at the sky but didn’t move an inch.

Yu Shoudao raised his eyebrows at her and gestured for her to follow.

Yu Linlang still didn’t move. Jiu Jin stepped forward and spoke up for her, “It’s getting late. If the lord wants Miss to come along, let’s do it tomorrow.”

Yu Shoudao looked puzzled and looked up at the still relatively bright sky. It wasn’t even late afternoon yet!

“It was Madam’s order that the young lady must enter the manor before Shenshi (3-5 PM). It’s getting dark, and it might not be appropriate for her to go out now. Please, sir, come to fetch her early tomorrow morning.”

Yu Shoudao went to look at his young lady.

She nodded indifferently, gave him a proper bow, and turned to leave.

Yu Shoudao clutched his chest, feeling a rush of blood to his head.

His servant rushed forward to support him, “Master, sir!”

This is a matter of life and death! How could she be so indifferent? Yu Shoudao was furious.
