The infinite energy was stored inside the mech, within easy reach of the Matrix, but untouchable by it. All because of Yan Leyang’s words: “Don’t touch that.”

It might just be a casual remark, but for the Mother Body, it was like setting an order. It’s clearly within reach, yet he couldn’t touch it.

The limitations imposed on him by his human bloodline were too great. The Mother Body remained silent, and even after Yan Leyang dragged him into the starship and the mecha was put away again, she was still unable to directly obtain the endless energy.

Yan Leyang was a major limitation for him, and Yan Leyang’s combat strength seemed to have exceeded his expectations.

Previously, Yan Leyang’s legs and tail must have been blown off. The mother body had never seen this guy’s tail, but now he was certain that Yan Leyang’s legs were definitely not prosthetics.

What exactly happened?! Yan Leyang doesn’t look like a cyborg at all, and the Mother Body didn’t detect any traces of mechanical remnants on him.

Just then, the tape over his mouth was ripped off.

Yan Leyang looked this good-for-nothing bast**d up and down.

Yan Leyang was a young man of the new era, which means he didn’t really like bratty kids.

Okay, maybe this kid isn’t really a troublemaker, he just lacks a sense of security. After all, he might not even know what he’d done.

The child didn’t want to be kidnapped, but even after giving the child a bunch of reasons, Yan Leyang still didn’t really like children; they were too troublesome.

However, he had no choice but to keep the child with him. Would sending him back to Eleph arouse the mother body’s suspicion, and what would she do to the child? Yan Leyang didn’t know.

The sad thing was that Yan Leyang hadn’t developed a ruthless nature yet, so he couldn’t throw this brat away.

“Let me make this clear first, I don’t like kids. You’d better not cause any trouble if you’re with me.” Yan Leyang threatened the child with a stern face. “I’m running for my life right now. If you cause me any trouble, I’ll push you out to take the fall for me.”

When Yan Leyang got fierce, he actually looked quite formidable. The child shrank back, as if he was frightened.

The mother body lowered her head, thinking that she might have to stay with Yan Leyang for a while longer. Yan Leyang didn’t like children, and he didn’t like this bast**d either.

Yan Leyang’s existence was probably a mockery of the mother body. Unbeknownst to the mother body, a human and a beastman had committed adultery, resulting in the birth of this unrelated being, Yan Leyang.

The mother body still didn’t know who it was.

Parallel universes? Only those beastmen, the Mother Body never believed in the existence of parallel universes.

But he couldn’t understand why the last human, He Wen, had died more than a thousand years ago, and why the bloodline in Yan Leyang’s body proved that the other party was from the same generation as Yan Leyang’s grandparents.

Beastmen had an average lifespan of three hundred years, and He Wen never had a relationship with anyone until his death.

The mother body was certain that He Wen loved him. Even if He Wen committed suicide in the end, he was still the only person He Wen had ever loved.

So where did Yan Leyang’s bloodline come from? The mother body couldn’t figure it out. In the past, when things were so chaotic, she even doubted whether parallel universes really existed.

Later it was discovered that there was no such thing, or perhaps it was beyond the scope of current technology to detect. If even human technology cannot detect it, then it was even more impossible for beastmen to be involved.

Although the mother body was troubled by the fact that Yan Leyang’s bloodline came from various sources, she did not want to keep Yan Leyang alive to investigate in detail. If possible, she would prefer that Yan Leyang die sooner and be reborn sooner.

The past was gone, and a new kind of humanity would surely emerge in the future.

Seeing the child trembling with fear because of him, Yan Leyang felt inexplicably embarrassed. So he reached out and patted the child’s head: “Be good. As long as you don’t hold us back, I’ll save your life.”

….

“What have you been doing these days?” Zhou Jiu looked up at the ceiling, and after about two seconds, the mother body’s voice rang out.

“Soon, soon all this will be over.” The voice sounded like it was trying to comfort Zhou Jiu.

Zhou Jiu didn’t feel comforted. Hearing the mother body’s voice, he only gave a bitter smile: “I am not human.”

“You are not.” The Mother Body acknowledged his statement. “However, I will not kill you.”

“Why?” Zhou Jiu found it quite ridiculous. His original pride came from his identity as a human, but later he discovered that he was not, not only not, he couldn’t even be considered a beastman.

He originally thought the Mother Body would kill him directly, but she didn’t; instead, she simply put him under house arrest.

It seems it didn’t want to kill him, but Zhou Jiu always seemed to be in an awkward position. Zhou Jiu tried to act crazy, but it was no use, so in the end they could only give up.

Sure enough, after he asked why, the mother body fell silent again.

Zhou Jiu felt as if he had no place in this world anymore.

He was neither human nor beastman; looking like this, he’d probably be unrecognizable even to a monkey troop if he went back to them.

Zhou Jiu reached out and clenched the hem of his clothes. He wondered if it was because he had been locked up for too long, but he always had a feeling that he didn’t want to live anymore.

It seems that living isn’t so interesting anymore. After all, if he really escapes, who will accept him? Putting aside race, he couldn’t even count the number of lives he’s taken with his hands.

Cat Prison.

“Aren’t you tired?” Black Shadow looked at Yuan Yuan in front of him. This guy had been standing in front of him for so many days, and Black Shadow felt like he was about to get a sty. “Don’t you have anything to do?”

“No.” Yuan Yuan said, a hint of pride and smugness in her voice. “I’m a useless piece of trash. I can’t help at all. It’s good enough if I don’t cause any trouble.”

“Then what are you doing here? Could you please go back to your bed?” Black Shadow clicked his tongue. These days, Black Shadow had been rather dejected and inexplicably wished that he could just fall asleep forever.

Whenever he slept too long, his half-brother, with whom he had no real affection, would wake him up, as if afraid he might suddenly die.

Sure enough, Yuan Yuan smiled after seeing Black Shadow’s helpless expression, a particularly happy smile: “Cultivating brotherly affection.”

His tone didn’t sound like he was talking about cultivating brotherly affection; it sounded more like he was saying, “I’m here to annoy you.”

“Do you think that if I look at you a few more times, it will make a breakthrough in our stagnant brotherhood?” Black Shadow was a little angry, but anger was useless; he knew he couldn’t get out now.

Now, Black Shadow felt that his personality had improved a lot, and his rough edges had been smoothed out.

“Maybe if you look at me a few more times, you’ll see me in your heart.” Yuan Yuan grinned, revealing his gums. “Besides, you’re useless to me now.”

Black Shadow raised an eyebrow but remained silent.

“Yan Leyang and the others are quite reliable. They’ve basically figured out everything they could get out of you.” Yuan Yuan pointed to Black Shadow. “By the way, I have some news for you: the cat clan has reinstated the death penalty, and you are now a prisoner of the cat clan.”

“You’re about to die.” Yuan Yuan’s smile faded, and he put his hands behind his back, silently watching the dark figure.

Black Shadow remained unresponsive.

Yuan Yuan stared at the dark figure for a long time, then clicked his tongue and said, “I have a feeling you’re already dead.”

This time, Black Shadow made a move, looking towards Yuan Yuan.

“I always felt that you died when I told you Mom committed suicide. Are you only alive for revenge?” Yuan Yuan noticed that Black Shadow’s fingers trembled slightly. “…You are still my brother after all.”

“You want to save me?” Black Shadow asked with a smile.

“No, it is only right that a life should be paid for a life.” Yuan Yuan did not think he should save the Black shadow. On the contrary, although he was spoiled by his mother and was a bit of a good-for-nothing, he was not a saint, nor was he against the death penalty.

“You’ve killed too many people, you deserve to die.”

Black Shadow nodded in agreement: “You’re right.”

“You yourself won’t live much longer, right?” Yuan Yuan had heard Fu Mingxuan and the others say that Black Shadow was very strong, but he had an irreversible defect in his body, and the mother body helped him live longer inside.

But it won’t last much longer.

Black Shadow found it amusing: “So it’s still the same old routine. Then why did you say I’m your brother after all?”

“I’ll clean up your mess, and there’s our mother too.” He only learned about his mother’s actions after she died.

He still disliked Black Shadow, but Black Shadow was a debt his mother owed, and the series of absurd things Black Shadow had done were indirectly caused by his mother.

Yuan Yuan stood up: “Those criminals have escaped, someone has to catch them and bring them back.”

“You? A piece of trash?” Black Shadow showed no respect whatsoever.

Yuan Yuan was also quite helpless: “Your words are really hurtful, but I really am useless.” He himself was also aware of his own abilities, “Even if I’m useless, I’m not to the point of being a burden.”

“Just wait to die peacefully, that’s what you deserve.” Yuan Yuan paused here, “If I could clean up this mess, I would clean it up for you.”

“I heard them say before that Yan Leyang mentioned the concept of a next life.” Yuan Yuan stood up. “Although it sounds really illogical, it’s still a good blessing.”

Black Shadow fell silent. Yuan Yuan turned and left, leaving only one sentence before closing the door: “I wish you have both parents in your next life, and… health and happiness.”

“How did your parents die?” Yan Leyang couldn’t help but ask the child as they disembarked from the starship.

He knew, of course, that it wasn’t a good idea to ask a child such a question, and Yan Leyang regretted it as soon as he said it.

He mainly thought that the child was silent like a puppet on the starship, and that his previous threats had caused the child psychological problems.

Along the way, Yan Leyang didn’t know how to start the conversation. He had no connection with this child and didn’t know anything about the child’s childhood… Oh, this child probably didn’t have a childhood, since all he could think about was how to survive.

Upon hearing this question, the child looked at him, but his eyes held a hint of reproach.

The mother body indeed felt that Yan Leyang was too bad at speaking, and even wondered what kind of thing Yan Leyang had done to win over someone like Lang Shiyi.

Was it forced?

Yan Leyang scratched the back of his head: “So what’s your name?”

“I don’t know,” the child said, his voice slightly unfamiliar.

Yan Leyang was now in an even more difficult position: “How about I give you a name?”

The child nodded, seemingly with some expectation.

Of course, all of this was an act. The Matrix didn’t care about names; it just wanted to get rid of Yan Leyang, this troublesome person, as soon as possible.

“Then let’s go with Tiezhu.” Yan Leyang made a decisive choice in naming the child.

The mother body was startled for a moment, her eyes widening in surprise.

“I hope you are as strong as steel, uh, as straight as a pillar… uh, straight.” Yan Leyang patted the child’s sparsely shaved head.

Yan Leyang’s expression was one of pity, but in fact, it was all an act. He didn’t really care that much about the child; after all, they had just met, and the child had already caused him quite a bit of trouble.

As for his name, Yan Leyang isn’t very good at naming people; having a nickname was already pretty good enough.

They stared at each other blankly, and Yan Leyang said helplessly, “Shall we go eat first?”

The mother body nodded. In fact, she really wanted to kill Yan Leyang, and she finally understood why Black Shadow was so determined to get rid of Yan Leyang.

In every sense of the word, Yan Leyang was a menace.

An awkward atmosphere lingered between the two. Yan Leyang had to wear a muzzle when entering the rabbit tribe’s territory, but the child didn’t have to.

When the race test results came out, Yan Leyang looked at the child in surprise: “You’re a rabbit?”

“Hmm.” The mother body nodded. His race was randomly assigned, but he didn’t like others putting a muzzle on him, so he simply made himself a rabbit.

“Then I want to eat meat… But there should be some vegetables there, right?” Yan Leyang scratched his head. Rabbits were troublesome creatures; given the chance, they could even scare themselves to death.

The mother body didn’t care; she just followed Yan Leyang.

The mother body was ultimately not used to places with many beastmen, and she had to suppress the disgust in her heart.

Especially the beastman cubs; when one of the little rascals ran over and bumped into the mother body’s shoulder, the mother body stopped and her gaze fell on the child.

The mother body’s face was serious. She watched as the child and her mother entered the cake shop together. The mother clearly saw her child bump into her, but she didn’t even scold her.

There was no pattern.

The mother body was thinking about how that little brat should die; perhaps he had been too irritable lately, which made him particularly prone to anger.

Yan Leyang naturally saw this scene as well: one child staring at another.

Other children have mothers, but the one next to him is an orphan.

It seemed a bit tragic. Yan Leyang glanced at the child bouncing around inside with a conflicted expression.

Looking at the little brat beside him who exuded an autistic aura, he felt his mood also begin to sour.

This feeling of a child without a mother is like a blade of grass…

Yan Leyang sighed and patted the mother’s shoulder: “Do you want cake too?”

The mother body looked up, and it was unclear how Yan Leyang had come to such a conclusion.

Yan Leyang patted him twice and said, “Go buy it, I’ll pay for it. Don’t act like you’re about to cry.”

He looked like he was about to cry? The mother body thought Yan Leyang had a rather vivid imagination.

“Tiezhu, you must be strong.”

…The mother body took a deep breath.

One day he will grind Yan Leyang to dust.
