As Luo Mi planted the seed of allure in Bishop Eugen’s soul, Anos casually remarked, as if making a casual conversation, “Why did Bishop Eugen use your blood to make a drink?”

Lord Zixiang drank another cup of Green Heart and said with a smile, “He wants to use this method to attract all the anti-papal factions and unbelievers of the Alpha Empire to believe in his god.”

At this point, Lord Zixiang’s tone became somewhat sarcastic.

Anos raised an eyebrow: “You’re actually willing?”

“Why wouldn’t I be willing?” Lord Zixiang chuckled again. “This is a great opportunity to infiltrate the Light Domain. If everyone in the Light Domain becomes addicted to my blood, it’s hard to say who they’ll actually worship.”

As the most powerful succubus in the realm of seduction and hypnosis, Lord Zixiang’s entire body, including her diluted blood, had a variety of uses.

Anos glanced at her indifferently and said nothing.

Soon, Luo Mi successfully planted the seed of enchantment in Bishop Eugen.

Anos nodded slightly to Lord Zixiang, took Luo Mi’s hand, and then disappeared into the real dream along with Bishop Eugen.

Lord Zixiang poured herself another glass of wine and sipped it slowly, staring at the spot where Anos had disappeared from without saying a word.

A shadow appeared beside her, and a succubus who looked quite similar to her appeared, asking somewhat unwillingly, “Mother, even if the Blackwing Lord is stronger than you in reality, with the blessing of the Real Dream, we may still be able to keep him.”

Lord Zixiang’s expression remained unchanged as she slowly asked, “Why keep him here?”

“Doesn’t Mother want to taste his flavor? If she could completely devour the Blackwing Lord, perhaps Mother could advance to the next level.”

Lord Zixiang shook her head: “There’s no way to go any higher. Whether it’s me or any of the other demon lords, we’ve all reached our limit— only Blackwing has the potential to cross this level and reach the realm of ‘god’.”

The succubus’s expression turned to confusion: “Why?”

Lord Zixiang smiled slightly but did not answer the question. Instead, she said, “If pushed too far, that little kid beside him could destroy the real dream I have painstakingly created. This is the ‘raft’ I prepared to survive the apocalypse; I’d rather be conservative.”

“That low-level succubus?!”

Lord Zixiang smiled without saying a word.

This was a real dream, a world of spirit and soul.

As the master of the real dream, she “heard” the voices that occasionally came from the heart of the seemingly frail succubus.

However, with the loss of Eugen, the pace of eroding the dream realm of light had to be slowed down considerably… Thinking of this, Lord Zixiang still felt a pang of regret.

….

Once back in reality, Luo Mi regained his balance and saw that Bishop Eugen had opened his eyes.

The archbishop, who held a prominent position in the Vatican, had been planted with the seed of his charm, becoming his obedient servant.

Anos pushed open the door and walked in, pulling up a chair to sit down: “Time to begin questioning.”

Luo Mi floated down to the ground: “What should I ask?”

Anos rubbed his temples, pondered for a moment, and asked, “What happened to those alchemists who fled from the Duchy of Perde to the Empire back then?”

Luo Mi asked the question as instructed.

Bishop Eugene sat on the bed and answered calmly, “Part of them returned to God during my purification, and the other part were recorded as death and quietly given to Caroline II.”

Caroline II was related to alchemy? Luo Mi was immediately puzzled.

Anos was not surprised. After a moment’s thought, he asked, “Did you study alchemy with those alchemists?”

Bishop Eugen shook his head: “Alchemy is a heresy forbidden by God. As a devout servant, how could I possibly learn alchemy?”

Anos frowned, seemingly surprised by the answer.

Luo Mi glanced at Anos cautiously: “You previously suspected that Bishop Eugen was secretly researching alchemy?”

Anos nodded: “Eugen was promoted to Bishop of St. Patrick’s Cathedral fifteen years ago, and he hasn’t moved since. I thought he got promoted because of this.”

Why fifteen years ago?

Luo Mi recalled what had happened at this point in time and suddenly thought of the alchemy laboratory in the underground of the Perde Palace.

According to his speculation, Anos himself was an artificial angel synthesized in that alchemy laboratory. Afterwards, the alchemists fled to the city of Sig, where they were captured and purified by Bishop Eugen.

If this conjecture was correct, then the artificial angel, who was still an infant at the time, must have fallen into Eugen’s hands, which was why Eugen was able to become the bishop of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Luo Mi thought for a moment: “Who was the archbishop before Bishop Eugene?”

Bishop Eugen thought he was being asked and replied, “Florian Darc.”

Anos frowned: “I’ve never heard of such a bishop.”

Luo Mi asked in confusion, “You don’t know either?”

Anos glanced back at him with a half-smile: “Before I myself entered the Light Domain, I could only take action slightly when he was asleep, so I was not that free.”

Luo Mi couldn’t help but swallow.

This was the first time tonight that the man had directly revealed his identity, giving him the feeling that he was about to be silenced.

In an attempt to quickly improve her chances of gaining favor, Luo Mi hurriedly looked at Eugen: “Where is this bishop now?”

“He died,” Bishop Eugen replied. “He confessed before the cross of God and was burned at the stake. His Majesty believed that making it public would damage the reputation of the Holy See, so he announced that he had been transferred to maintain the Light Domain Barrier and was martyred in the struggle against the Demon Domain.”

Luo Mi was somewhat surprised: “Repent for what?”

The demon Anos frowned: “Divine punishment directly bestowed by the gods?”

“He confessed that he, as a devout and pure believer, had an illicit affair with Caroline II and even fathered a child with her.”

Bishop Eugen’s calm words resonated in the cerebral cortex of Luo Mi and the demon Anos, sending a shiver down their spines.

Luo Mi asked on behalf of Anos, “Caroline II and Bishop Florian had a child? When? And the child?”

“About eighteen years ago, Queen Caroline II went to the Southern Hunting Palace for more than half a year under the pretext of recuperation, during which time she gave birth to a child. Florian, as the royal bishop at the time, accompanied her, leaving me to guard St. Patrick’s Cathedral, so I am not aware of the specifics.”

“But strangely enough, Queen Caroline II did not name this child as the fourth prince, and afterwards the child seemed to have simply disappeared— until I was promoted to archbishop after Florian’s ‘martyrdom’ and went to the holy city of Bethlehem to meet His Majesty, where I saw the young earthly angel beside His Majesty…”

Eugen’s gaze fell on Anos.

Under mental control, Bishop Eugen’s emotions were not concealed, revealing obvious disgust. “His Highness the Holy Son’s appearance is almost a carbon copy of Florian’s, and his eyes are extremely similar to those of Caroline II. I immediately knew that he was the child born from Florian’s illicit affair with Her Majesty the Empress.”

The demon Anos sat there, listening expressionlessly, without saying a word.

Luo Mi sorted through the information he had heard, frowning in confusion.

So, Anos wasn’t a baby created by alchemists? Then who was that baby?

He couldn’t help but glance at the demon Anos, and seeing that the other party had no intention of speaking, he braced himself and continued to ask, “Then how did you get involved with Lord Zixiang?”

Bishop Eugen lowered his eyes and made the Papal Cross on his chest: “I do not believe that God would send an angel with the blood of immoral people who violate the doctrine. So I suspect that Caroline II murdered the real angel on earth, colluded with alchemists, and infused her child with the power of God, hoping to use this to make her child ascend to the papacy and thus truly control the power of the church.”

“I once wrote a secret letter to His Majesty, but His Majesty brushed it off. Perhaps His Majesty thinks that as long as one possesses the power of an angel, it is not important whether one is an angel or not. But as the archbishop stationed in the empire, I must make thorough preparations in advance… When I was purifying those alchemists, among the spoils I obtained was a bottle of liquid labeled ‘Zixiang Blood.’ The night I analyzed it, I entered the real dream.”

Bishop Eugen did not continue, but in the real dream, he naturally could not resist the charm of the Zixiang Lord and became her servant.

Luo Mi let out a breath and looked at the demon Anos again.

The demon Anos twitched the corners of his mouth, revealing a somewhat mocking smile.

He stood up and left Bishop Eugen’s bedroom.

Luo Mi quickly hypnotized Bishop Eugen to forget what had happened that night and quickened his pace to catch up.

The demon Anos stopped in the hall of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, gazing up at the huge cross hanging high, his expression as calm as a deep well.

The clear moonlight streamed in through the skylight, covering his hair and feet like a layer of silvery frost.

Luo Mi had always felt an inexplicable fear of this high-ranking demon, but upon seeing Anos at this moment, a sense of pity welled up within her.

He cautiously took two steps closer, standing precisely at the boundary between moonlight and darkness: “Didn’t you know before?”

The person Caroline II spoke with last night must have been the demon Anos; so Luo Mi thought he already knew about it.

The demon Anos shook his head: “I don’t know. She didn’t tell me— I thought we were just on the same side against the Papacy.”

Luo Mi thought of that Empress, and for a moment it was hard to imagine that she would use alchemy to modify her own child just to gain an advantage in the struggle between royal power and papal power. But then he thought about the decisive and ruthless methods that Caroline II had used since her accession to the throne, and it didn’t seem impossible.

He offered a dry attempt at comfort: “What Bishop Eugen knows may not necessarily be the truth…”

The demon Anos stared at the cross, closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again, he was looking at Luo Mi: “This task is entrusted to you.”

Luo Mi was stunned: “What mission?”

“Find out our true origins— and the important thing is to let him know.” The demon Anos’s blood-red eyes cast an invisible pressure over the little succubus, his tone softening. “He has the right to know the truth, doesn’t he?”

Luo Mi’s heart leaped into his throat.

In that instant, he understood the demon Anos’s intention: he wanted to destroy the faith that the holy son Anos trusted and relied on.

Before Luo Mi could figure out how to refuse, the demon Anos, as if he had already guessed what Luo Mi was thinking, said sarcastically, “Do you think living in a world of falsehoods is a good thing for him?”

Luo Mi opened his mouth but couldn’t find any words to refute it.

The demon Anos silently curled his lips: “If you do this well, your previous betrayal will be wiped clean, and I can even help you complete one last upgrade. When he suffers a major blow and feels empty inside, you can take advantage of that and successfully sleep with him. Wouldn’t that be perfect?”
