He Wen’s residence was a very standard three-story building. The decoration looked like it came from Yan Leyang’s world, but it was said that there were three basements under the building.

He Wen finished processing the sheep and served it to the table: “By the way, Yan Leyang seems to be very familiar with the equipment in this house.”

“Not bad.” Yan Leyang said in a light tone. It was still unclear whether He Wen was an enemy or a friend, although his face, and personality were exactly the same as his high school teacher.

“My consciousness was copied from He Wen.” He Wen explained, “The real He Wen died more than a thousand years ago.”

Then He Wen began to narrate the whole story.

Basically, there was human civilization in the past, and when human civilization developed to the interstellar, the animals they raised became unable to transform into animal form.

Human civilization was indeed much more advanced than today’s orc civilization. It could even be said that some of the things left behind by humans were the breeding ground for the later orc civilization.

The demise of human civilization was also very interesting. They perished in loneliness.

This sounded ridiculous, but when humans were on Earth, they fantasized that there were other creatures in the interstellar space. But when they stepped into interstellar space, they found that humans were the only living beings in this universe.

Of course, this may be because they had not yet explored wider territories, but before they could continue to explore the universe, big problems arose within humanity.

Human beings at that time no longer had to worry about material problems in life. In an era when there was no need to struggle for a living, what people lacked most was spiritual comfort.

But they were too “civilized”. Everything about human beings was going in a good direction. It was a complete utopia. So everyone was civilized, everyone was polite, and any disease could be cured.

Everything was perfect, and the final problem lay in this “perfection”.

There was no comparison because everyone was the same.

Ironically, this was probably like the relationship between wild animals and pets. Wild animals always needed to hunt for a living or prepare to escape. They thus always had an alert look and a desire to survive in their eyes.

It was also because of this that in the jungle full of dangers, a helping hand between different races would be invaluable.

Humans had slowly turned themselves into “pets”. They had provided themselves with an incomparable life, but they were turning increasingly lifeless. They had everything but were unable to experience the so-called love, family affection, or even the beauty of friendship.

Because parents no longer needed to work hard to raise children, nor did they need to give birth themselves, everything was done by machines. Children grew up in “artificial containers” and were then brought up by nanny robots.

They no longer had the desire to fall in love, and they didn’t even want to go out to socialize, let alone make friends.

Then one day, the birth rate of new humans became zero.

Because humans suddenly found that they had become “gods”, indifferent, equal to all beings, and even unable to empathize. And they were painful and pessimistic about the current situation, and no longer willing to create new “gods”.

In the end, humans became extinct. They wiped themselves out. But at the end of the extinction, humans created a seed system.

“The seed system is also called ‘spark’ or ‘matrix’. It is a huge starship that contains twenty-four human embryos.” He Wen looked at the lamb chops in front of him. “The gene providers of those embryos are a group of people who hoped to find an answer. They are also the last struggle of mankind before its demise.”

“But humans still disappeared.” He Wen shrugged. “The Zhou Jiu you met was a pseudo-human created by the Matrix using monkeys for experiments. Maybe Zhou Jiu himself doesn’t know it because he had been brainwashed by the Matrix a long time ago.”

“The last human was ‘He Wen’. When he was born, the Orc civilization had already developed very well, so ‘He Wen’ didn’t suffer such a serious loss. But later he chose to leave the ‘Matrix’ with the genes and equipment of most of the animals on the starship.” He Wen sighed.

“He later died and the Matrix was forced to clone him. The Matrix was programmed to prevent the extinction of the human race.”

“I am a replica of his thoughts, so I know there is such a good hidden place.” He Wen patted the table, “I have been here for more than a thousand years.”

“I am indeed a school teacher now.” He Wen scratched his head, “But I just resigned.”

Yan Leyang was stunned: “You said you have lived for more than a thousand years?”

“I’m not a human, I’m just a machine.” He Wen was also helpless, “I don’t want to live, but there’s nothing I can do.”

“Aren’t primates extinct? How come Zhou Jiu is a monkey?” Yan Leyang was confused again.

“No, I still have a lot of monkeys here. If you are interested, I can take you to see them, but you have to be careful not to be robbed by them.” He Wen smiled, “And Zhou Jiu is not an orc, he is a pure orc.”

“That’s a lot of information.” Lang Shiyi silently ate his lamb chops and interrupted, “So what’s the matter with you asking us to come here?”

“Ah, it’s not a big deal.” He Wen clapped his hands, “I just want to destroy the Matrix.”

Yan Leyang: “…Are you serious?”

“What makes you think we have the ability to destroy the so-called Matrix?” Lang Shiyi put down the bone, “There’s nothing special about us.”

“Yes.” He Wen pointed at Lang Shiyi: “You are the one with the most modifications all over your body. Orcs with your level would have died long ago.”

After that, he pointed at Yan Leyang and said, “You know too much about humans, or rather, humans who still live on Earth. Not only me, but Zhou Jiu is also eyeing you.”

“Oh…” Yan Leyang retreated tactically, “That is to say, all of you forces want to fight for me, right?”

“Do you feel like a heroine?” He Wen raised his glass towards him. “Actually, it’s not entirely because of this. I like you quite a bit. Although the genes of so many animals were taken away, tigers were already extinct before humans set foot in interstellar space.”

“You are a protected animal.” He Wen smiled. “The situation outside is a bit chaotic now. You can rest here for a while.”

Yan Leyang looked at Lang Shiyi, and Lang Shiyi nodded.

“Oh, by the way, I also caught something incredible here.”

….

In the evening, Yan Leyang and Lang Shiyi were taking a walk beside the lake behind He Wen’s house.

“To be honest, this is the ideal setting for humans here.” Yan Leyang sighed as he walked. This was too dark.

“Perhaps this will also be the final outcome of the orc civilization, but it has nothing to do with us.” Lang Shiyi walked beside Yan Leyang, “We will be dead by then.”

As the two of them were walking side by side, feeling overwhelmed, they saw someone tied to a bar in the lake. The black and white hair…it was Seb again.

This was probably the incredible thing He Wen was talking about. Why was this thing still haunting them??

But this time, Seb did not rush over excitedly. Instead, he started crying as soon as he saw Yan Leyang.

Uh, Yan Leyang glanced at Seb who was crying, and then glanced at Lang Shiyi who was staring at him.

Yan Leyang and Lang Shiyi looked at each other, and in the end Yan Leyang was slightly better, and Lang Shiyi spoke first.

“It’s him again. I’m so scared.” Lang Shiyi’s voice was emotionless and his expression was cold.

“Don’t be afraid.” Yan Leyang immediately went up, hugged Lang Shiyi with one hand, and covered Lang Shiyi’s eyes with the other hand: “Don’t be afraid, we are not afraid, I will take you away from this place.”

Lang Shiyi put his head on Yan Leyang’s shoulder with an expressionless face and put his arms around Yan Leyang’s waist.

The two of them just turned around and left.

When they came, they walked separately, side by side with some distance between them. But when they left, they hugged each other tightly, sticking together.

The fourth Seb who witnessed everything: …Ying.
