The silence on the phone was unsettling.

During the few seconds that Tang Ran was stunned, she felt that a somewhat terrifying idea was slowly being outlined, and deep in her mind there seemed to be fragments of previous memories struggling to come up and complete the outline.

But before the first piece of the puzzle could be extracted from her memory, Tang Ran heard the silence on the other end of the phone and Luo Zhan laughed hoarsely.

“Master.”

He added in a light tone.

Tang Ran was stunned: “Are you calling me?”

Luo Zhan didn’t answer, but only said: “Recently, the laboratory has been studying the optimization of bionic robot synthetic sounds and sound source replacement.”

Tang Ran was still a little dazed and thought for a while: “Is it like AI Luo Luo?”

“Well, so I’ve been practicing some high-frequency words in the common language module of bionic robots recently,” Luo Zhan coughed lightly, “It seems that I’m still not very proficient.”

Tang Ran gradually reacted.

The corners of her mouth and her tone also lifted up, with an unconcealable joy: “So will the bionic robot use your voice in the future?”

There was silence on the other end of the phone.

After a moment, the boy burst out laughing and asked jokingly, “Are you really looking forward to hearing my voice on the robot?”

“I didn’t, didn’t, didn’t.”

Tang Ran instinctively retorted. But for the little girl, who had never lied before, from her voice to her expression to her nervous fingers gripping the edge of the table, everything was labeled “I am lying”.

Luo Zhan laughed happily, and his voice became increasingly hoarse.

“Or, what you’re really looking forward to more is… me being a robot for you personally?”

“!”

This sentence hit the vague outline in Tang Ran’s mind.

Thinking that her shameful thoughts had been discovered, the little girl’s face turned red at a visible speed.

She wanted to try to say something to defend herself, but unfortunately she couldn’t utter a word.

Tang Ran had sharp ears. When her face was so red that she lost her mind, she could still vaguely hear some disgusted words coming from the other end of the phone.

It was from Tan Yunchang: “Can you please stop being so coquettish? Sister Tang Ran has never experienced anything like you, what if she gets embarrassed again?”

“What will you do then?”

That pleasant voice laughed, and it vibrated gently through the air close to her ear, making Tang Ran feel as if her own heartbeat was shaking along with it.

He seemed to have turned his head to talk to the person next to him, but his voice could be heard faintly, and his voice sounded lazily yet revealing a hint of charm.

“That’s hilarious… I’ll take responsibility then. What else can I do?”

Tang Ran’s brain CPU successfully overheated, short-circuited and burned out, and her thinking ability completely stopped.

She didn’t remember what Luo Zhan said after that, she only vaguely knew that he agreed to come over, and then she hurriedly ended the conversation. After hanging up the phone, the little girl lay on the table by herself, trying to cool herself down and restart her CPU.

Her face was buried in her arms and could not be seen clearly, but the girl’s delicate ears among her long hair had been dyed a bright light pink, which clearly revealed her emotional state.

Duan Qingyan, who was watching the whole process, felt so complicated that she couldn’t express it in words. She just felt like she was in her hometown, seeing the little rabbit, which was completely powerless to resist, being bitten on the red neck by a cruel big wolf and carried back to the den.

Their Xiao Ran is only 16, how could she meet such a bast**d man, won’t he eat her till there is nothing left…

It’s so worrying.

Duan Qingyan was worried, but she continued to accompany Tang Ran diligently until Luo Zhan came to pick her up.

Before sending Tang Ran away from the side house, Duan Qingyan felt uneasy.

When she was anxious, she couldn’t suppress her accent. She didn’t care about it at this moment, so she whispered in Tang Ran’s ear: “Xiao Ran, the old people in our place say that men who are so good-looking and talkative are unreliable and are the best at deceiving girls. You are so beautiful, you must be careful not to be deceived when you are out there!”

Tang Ran was slightly startled, but she quickly reacted. The little girl smiled and said, “Are you talking about Luo Zhan?”

The sound of a supercar’s excellent engine performance was just outside the door, but Duan Qingyan didn’t dare to respond.

Tang Ran added: “Luo Luo won’t do that.”

Duan Qingyan became even more anxious: “A liar won’t tell you that he is going to deceive you…”

“It’s not because of this. It’s just that Luo Luo is very powerful and excellent. He doesn’t need to lie to others… and he doesn’t need to lie to me.”

When talking about this, there was a hint of hesitation and depression in the little girl’s smile.

“To him, I am probably like a child who has never grown up. He sees many beautiful young ladies who like him every day. How can he have the attention to deceive me?”

“…”

Duan Qingyan was speechless and choked up. For a moment, she didn’t know how to refute.

By the time Duan Qingyan finally realized that Tang Ran had not noticed Luo Zhan’s feelings for her, it was too late to remind her.

The door of the side house opened, and the young master of the Luo family was standing lazily on the gravel path under the stone steps. When he heard the sound of the door opening, he raised his eyes, and his dark eyes were fixed on the petite figure.

Then, within the scattered and meaningless emotions, a sparkling light slowly emerged.

“The driver is here.” The man lowered his eyes and smiled, “The Wishing Well said that it is happy to grant your wish, Master.”

Tang Ran had indeed never experienced anything like Luo Zhan. Just by hearing the man’s low, teasing, yet gentle and soft voice speaking to her, she blushed on the spot.

Duan Qingyan didn’t pass by either.

Looking at the young man in front of her, who could destroy countless girls’ hearts with just his handsome face, she sincerely had an ominous premonition towards Tang Ran that her treasure was in danger.

She didn’t know if she sensed her thoughts, but the little girl turned back just before she was about to go out.

When she got close to Duan Qingyan, her beautiful and delicate face, which already showed a sense of nobility in its facial features, was flushed.

The girl leaned in front of Duan Qingyan and whispered softly, “Actually, I am the one who wanted to deceive you.”

Duan Qingyan: “?”

The little girl blushed and spoke even softer: “I want to trick him back… I will try my best!”

Duan Qingyan: “???”

Baby, you are not good enough to show off in front of that bast**d!

Unfortunately, before Duan Qingyan could remind her, Luo Zhan had already stepped forward, skillfully taken away the girl’s cane, and helped her away.

Duan Qingyan had no choice but to witness “a sheep falling into the tiger’s mouth” with her own eyes.

Or she just thought she was a little fox, but the person lying opposite her was a lazy big cat… this was an example of a sheep walking into the tiger’s mouth.

Because of the delay in the afternoon, Duan Qingyan returned to the main house much later than usual with the lunch box.

As soon as she entered the kitchen area, she ran into the Butler. As soon as he saw her, his face darkened immediately: “I just asked you to deliver lunch to the side house, were you planning to stay there until dinner?”

Duan Qingyan understood the rules and was tactful. She bowed her head and apologized: “I’m sorry, Director Qian. I was delayed today. I won’t do it again in the future.”

“From now on, you only keep telling me from now on – you guys will fail one by one at the critical moment! Today the main house needs help, but I can’t find anybody. It’s really bad luck!”

No one knew why the Bulter got so angry, and Duan Qingyan didn’t dare to ask.

She lowered her head and waited for the Butler to come over, but she saw that he suddenly remembered something, turned back and looked at her strangely.

Duan Qingyan felt guilty when she was looked at like this: “Butler Qian?”

Butler Qian asked, “I remember you were able to enter the Tang family because it seems that you are quite good at making tea?”

Duan Qingyan hesitated for a moment and nodded: “I studied tea art for a long time at my last employer.”

“…Hey, I really caught up with you!” Manager Qian’s eyes lit up immediately, “Today, a guest suddenly came to our house. I heard that he loves tea ceremony the most. The tea ceremony master at home happened to be away, and I’m not sure if the people at the table can be used… You should go with them! If you really have to take over, don’t embarrass me!”

Duan Qingyan was stunned: “Ah?”

“Stop it, put the lunch box aside and follow me!”

“Oh, okay.”

Duan Qingyan did not dare to delay and put the lunch box aside as instructed.

Before she could even stand still, Butler Qian was already urging her: “Hurry up!”

“……Why.”

Ten minutes later, Duan Qingyan stood in the main building of the Tang family’s main residence.

Only the Tang family’s masters lived in the main building. Servants who were not at the Butler level and were not responsible for the affairs of the main building were not allowed to even enter the main building.

This was also Duan Qingyan’s first time entering.

She didn’t dare to look around along the way. Manager Qian took her to an annex room on the third floor, asked her to wait there, and then left.

There were already two women dressed as servants in the annex chamber, but just by looking at their clothes, Duan Qingyan could tell that they were servants of a much higher rank than her.

The two women naturally noticed it as well, and quickly looked away with disinterest.

One of them seemed to pick up the interrupted chat: “Are you sure?”

“I heard the butler mention it when he was instructing the tea and snacks to be arranged. There’s no mistake. It must be Mr. Lan from Auto Technology.”

“But why did he come to the Tang family?”

“I don’t know about that. I heard that he showed up all of a sudden without an appointment. From the attitude of the housekeeper, it seemed like he was here with bad intentions.”

“Then I really want to see him. He was voted as a diamond bachelor by several financial and entertainment magazines this year!”

“Who wouldn’t want to…”

The conversation between the two could not continue, as the door of the ear chamber was pushed open again.

Butler Qian, who had just given Duan Qingyan a cold face, now bowed and nodded to a middle-aged man: “Butler Qiu, everyone we can find is here.”

The middle-aged man glanced at the three people and frowned when he saw Duan Qingyan.

But in the end, he didn’t say much, just said: “You three follow me.”

“…”

Duan Qingyan and the other two all looked a little nervous and stiff.

Butler Qian urged, and the three of them followed reluctantly.

After passing the corridor on the third floor of the main building, Duan Qingyan and the other two were brought to the Tang family’s tea room.

Walking around the long screen, Duan Qingyan instinctively looked up.

There was only one unfamiliar face in the room.

Opposite the gloomy old lady Hang, sat a man who looked to be just over thirty years old. His facial features were sharp and his expression was calm and cold.
