From the system’s tone, Li Yuebai could tell that the Supreme God had agreed.

In fact, a long time ago, the system had already revealed a fact: there were many systems in this world, and its presence or absence wouldn’t make a difference.

At that time, Li Yuebai had asked it a question: In my first transmigration, “The Musician from the Capital,” was the system that accompanied me the same one as you?

It cunningly avoided the question and then replied: No comment. There are so many worlds, so many hosts…

So many worlds, so many hosts, so of course there 23re also… so many systems!

At the same time, the system also revealed that it might not necessarily stand on the host’s side and might not necessarily advance or retreat together with the host.

“System, you’ve been on my opposite side from beginning to end…” Li Yuebai said, “At first I didn’t understand why, but I understood when I heard the word ‘interesting.’”

“…”

“The God wants to see interesting plot developments. As a system, you’ve used every means to tease your host in order to please the God and create interesting twists.” Li Yuebai smiled, “Should I say you’re dedicated or undedicated?”

“This…is this wrong? Can’t the supreme God see my loyalty?” The system’s stammering voice was full of grievance.

“Since you don’t treat your host like a human being, don’t blame the God for not treating you, his subordinate, like a subordinate.” Li Yuebai sighed. “You said the God’s purpose is just entertainment, just to see interesting plots. So, the duel between the host and the system is naturally the most interesting. Why would the God miss something so interesting? Since the God has countless subordinates and countless systems, why would the God care about the life or death of just one system like you?”

“But…but…”

“No buts. I’m sorry, I have to get rid of you.” Li Yuebai said, “You’ve already killed Ye Qing once. If I keep you alive, there will probably be a second and a third.”

He lay supine in the dark, deep pond, breathing carefully. Li Yuebai didn’t dare to look at Ye Qing’s situation, only daring to cast his gaze to the sky. Where exactly was that God? At the end of the universe?

Until a new voice exploded in his mind.

“Hello, I am the Judge.” The new voice was devoid of emotion. “Li Yuebai, you have made a request to the Supreme God, and the request has been granted. You have been granted one opportunity to shut down the system. When the system is shut down, I will exercise all authority in its place.”

“Thank you.”

“I hope the host understands that in countless worlds, no host has ever dared to make such a bold request, and this is the first time the Supreme God has granted such a request.” The Judge said, “Therefore, the Supreme God certainly won’t let you shut down the system so easily— it’s not that simple.”

“I understand.” Li Yuebai nodded.

He knew the Supreme God would agree, and he also knew that what followed wouldn’t be so easy.

“The Supreme God wants to see a duel.” The Judge said, “with your lives as the stakes.”

A duel?

Li Yuebai almost laughed out loud.

All along, the words, “aggressive and fierce,” had had absolutely nothing to do with him.

Besides, even if there really were to be a duel, the opponent should be a human, or at least a vampire.

He never expected to have a duel with this disgusting system of his own. This method was far too much of an honor for the system.

However, he didn’t want to refuse.

So far, the system has always been hidden— it has no physical form, no appearance, no life, only hiding behind one’s brain, deep within one’s heart, manipulating events with malicious words, which was truly infuriating.

If one could give it a good beating, a real fight, until blood was drawn, that would be ideal.

So, how to do it?

“Host, the solution is quite simple: materialize the system,” the Judge said. “If you agree, the system will appear in the form of some kind of creature. If you can kill that creature, you win and have the right to shut down the system.”

“System materialize…” Li Yuebai instinctively began to feel uneasy: “This method is too uncontrollable. If the system becomes the appearance of a child, I won’t be able to deal with it.”

“The Judge has also considered that this situation would cause injustice, therefore, the system will be restricted, and it will not be allowed to appear in human form,” the Judge said.

“Thank you,” Li Yuebai breathed a sigh of relief.

“Please rest assured, host and system, this duel will be fair. The system’s form will not be overly powerful, and the power gap will not be too large,” the Judge said. “I also hope the host will not make any further requests. The fact that the Supreme God has granted your request is already an extra favor. From now on, please obey the Supreme God’s arrangements.”

Li Yuebai nodded silently.

“Okay, the venue is being prepared for you,” the Judge said.

Where is the venue?

Li Yuebai looked at the dark sky and the dark pond, unable to guess what kind of venue this could be.

“Under the witness of the Judge, the host will fight his system here,” the Judge announced in a flat voice. “The venue is here.”

Here?

Li Yuebai rolled around in the water with difficulty. The resistance in the water was too great, and he couldn’t exert any strength at all.

Moreover, it was okay above the surface, but below the surface, he couldn’t even hear his own voice.

If the duel venue was here, then he was at a complete disadvantage.

He wondered what form the system would take?

As he was speculating, Li Yuebai heard an unusual churning sound in the water.

He tensed abruptly, turned around in the water, and looked towards the direction of the sound.

Something broke through the surface and lunged at him.

It was a tentacle.

The tentacle, as thick as an arm, appeared a terrifying pink in the moonlight, and it had suckers on it.

It was incredibly fast; Li Yuebai had no time to dodge before he felt the cold, sticky tentacle wrap around his neck and tighten.

“Dear host,” the system’s voice sounded again, “I’m truly sorry to have come into contact with you in this form…”

The voice was identical to before, and the tone still held no apology.

Its form became increasingly clear— an aquatic mollusk, no larger than a human, somewhat resembling an octopus, with eight tentacles.

Its unpleasant appearance perfectly matched its unpleasant behavior.

Li Yuebai gave a silent, cold laugh, reached for his waist, and pulled out a small knife.

He didn’t have many weapons on him; his gun was no longer usable, so he could only use a knife in the water.

The water resistance was immense, requiring twice the usual force to swing the knife, yet the blade remained sharp. With a single swing, the tentacle was severed.

Blue blood gushed from the cut, and the system incredulously retracted the tentacle.

Li Yuebai alertly held his knife in front of him, assuming a defensive stance, while simultaneously pondering what the judge meant by “fairness.”

Clearly, in the current situation, the system was the more likely winner, evident from its smug attitude.

Was this duel truly fair? Or did the main god simply want to watch the tentacle game?

Even worse, the tentacles regenerated.

Li Yuebai watched helplessly as the tentacle he had just severed quickly regrew, then attacked him even more swiftly.

Several flashes of silver light appeared, and two more tentacles were severed by Li Yuebai, but it was to no avail.

“Judge, how can I kill it?” Li Yuebai suppressed his anger. “It’s impossible to kill.”

“Host, think of vampires,” the Judge replied.

Vampires… Yes, vampires are the theme of this world.

Li Yuebai recalled his first battle with a vampire. Vampires also possessed extremely strong self-healing abilities; wounds and missing limbs would heal quickly, making them seem invincible… However, vampires had weaknesses: their hearts and brains. Attacking those areas with pure silver would kill the vampire.

And now, with the system…

Li Yuebai focused, dodging and wielding his knife while observing the grotesque tentacle creature— its color was pinkish, its body semi-transparent, and its brain and heart were vaguely visible— it had one brain and four hearts.

And there was only one knife.

Moreover, the brain and heart were hidden deep within, and the knife’s length made them difficult to reach.

“Dear host, I must admit, I don’t like this,” the system sighed hypocritically. “Fortunately, this is only a temporary materialization. After this battle ends, I will revert to my system identity… Give up, you can’t kill me.”

These words didn’t come from the tentacle creature, but instead, as before, directly entered Li Yuebai’s mind.

While saying this, the system wrapped several more tentacles around Li Yuebai’s waist, tightening its grip.

Its strength was considerable; if it tightened any further, his ribs might break.

This shouldn’t be happening. Li Yuebai frowned slightly, tightening his grip, the knife piercing a deep wound on the tentacle, then watching it heal.

“Judge, were the initial conditions of this battle truly fair?” Li Yuebai asked again.

“Host, please don’t make pointless complaints,” the Judge replied.

“I’m not complaining, I’m just asking,” Li Yuebai insisted.

“Yes, it was fair,” the Judge emphasized.

That’s right.

Given such a vast difference in physical abilities, if the Judge still insisted this battle was fair, it could only mean that he had a trump card yet.

What kind of trump card is it?

“Judge, do you mean… I can ask my companions for help?” Li Yuebai finally remembered this very important matter.

“Sure,” the Judge replied.

The system let out a cold laugh.

Li Yuebai knew very well what the system was laughing at.

Ye Qing was currently fighting off countless vampires alone; how could he possibly spare the time to help him?

But even if he couldn’t spare the time, there were some things he could do.

Thinking carefully, there were two things about Ye Qing that he hadn’t figured out yet.

The first thing was that when Ye Qing first became a vampire, he used some strange magic to knock him unconscious— Ye Qing didn’t use any violent means, just snapped his fingers lightly, and then his respiratory tract filled with the smell of ether, and then he fell into a coma.

The second thing was that when he was surrounded and chased by vampires in the suburban square, he sent a distress signal to Ye Qing. Ye Qing first asked for his coordinates, and then created a mysterious explosion, successfully rescuing him from his predicament.

The inexplicable unconsciousness and the inexplicable explosion— even now, Li Yuebai didn’t know how to explain these two events.

Could it be a unique spell of the Joker?

There was no time to hesitate.

Li Yuebai swiftly severed a tentacle wrapped around his waist and turned to swim towards the surface.

The tentacle relentlessly pursued him, and as soon as Li Yuebai surfaced, his ankle was entangled again.

The tentacle creature, or rather the system, was directly below Li Yuebai, tightly dragging him down to the bottom.

Li Yuebai struggled to keep his face above water, shouting with all his might towards the distant ruins, “Xiao Ye!”

In the distance, all was darkness, and within the darkness were countless vampire figures, and Ye Qing’s figure.

Vampires were very sensitive to a Vila’s voice; Ye Qing must have heard him.

However, although he heard it, he wasn’t entirely sure of his location.

Li Yuebai reached into his pocket, pulled out a waterlogged and unusable pistol, and threw it with all his might directly above his head.

The pistol was plated with pure silver, shining like new, reflecting a dazzling white light in the moonlight.

As long as Ye Qing looked in this direction, he would definitely see it.

“Did you see the flash? Five meters below the surface, explode!” Li Yuebai shouted at the top of his lungs.

He didn’t wait long.

At most three seconds later, a muffled explosion came from below the surface.

The tentacles that had been tightly wrapped around his ankle instantly lost their strength, turning into a pile of dead flesh.

Li Yuebai took a deep breath, submerged his face in the water, and saw the shattered corpse of the tentacle creature— its brain and heart, five meters below the surface, had been blown open with a huge wound, and it couldn’t heal itself.

“Congratulations, host, you have successfully killed the system’s physical avatar. Now, you have the opportunity to shut down the system.” The judge’s voice was not loud, but it announced his victory.
